This photo is from the FW 2013 launch for Nella Bella the other day. Sean & Brock, both so handsome. I’m glad I cut my hair too. Moto jacket is from Nasty Gal’s first ever collection (SS 2013). Obsessed with that site BTW (HINT HINT BIRTHDAY IS COMING). This private event , hosted by Nella Bella’s Creative Director Tarek Al-Azbat introduced to us and the media to many firsts for the six-year-old fashion house. New products include scarves, cowls, a PDA carrying case, multi-compartment tote and more wallets. I’ve had a few NB bags over the years and have literally worn them out by taking them around the world and on a zillion adventures. It was lovely to be there supporting Tarek and celebrating with my fashion friends family. I’d really like this big ol’ black one. It is similar to a style from a couple season back that I absolutely LOVED! View PostLast night went to Nella Bella’s FW 2012 media reception. I’ve been taking NellaBella bags on all my travels, bike rides, festivals & fun for the last two years. They’re got lots of different shapes & styles this year. One of the designers for this collection, Andreas Kyriakos who started working with them at 15, he’s 16 now, but still, he designed a whole batch of beautiful things. I got to catch up with a few really lovely girls I hadn’t seen in a while. Thanks Raymi, you babe, for photos and Tarek for the invite. Can’t wait to get something new and BRIGHT! View PostWas frantic yesterday running around looking for something to wear in Dallas that is ‘Western inspired’. Have no fear, the tickle trunk I like to call my closet room is chalk full of theatricical outfits. Jeans hanging up there are my Shop Girls Yoga Yeans, only jeans I’ve worn since I got them. Really comfy and slimming, this all coming from someone who does not like wearing pants so, I mean serious. Keri also came through with a rodeo shirt that will be perfect. I knew exactly what I was looking for and it was surely not this. Well, in some variation but not together… Before shopping I stopped by to see the lovely Tarek at Nella Bella and look what I got… BTW took the nose ring hoop out (Mum :)) so Dallas and customs don’t think I’m a punk. Shaved head/mohawk style looks kinda punky but the blonde hair is distracting, so… I try to take the safest route and go for cuteness when I visit to the airport. I feel like thatis somehting @barbiestyle (aka Barbie) would say. Haha. I wonder if I will see that one customs guy again? Whoa, tangent. Back to this this lovely HUGE bag, he said I needed this colour for LA. SO true. Thank you! I picked up a couple others that will come out during my travels. One is the famed Nella Bella London bag in red. The small part holds my passport and essentials and the big part fits my iPad (Andy) and netbook (Robert) in it perfectly. View PostTook subway home from work today after stopping by the Nella Bella head office. I’ve been friends with the designers for years and truly love them! I do not however, love loud talkers on the subway. Don’t people realize they are being loud/rude/annoying? We all don’t need to know the floodplan of your new apartment or that your sister still has that loser boyfriend. Couple years ago I made videos of loud talking people and posted them online. I feel that might be a bit inappropriate now, but I still think about it. This is my new fav bag. A big black purse is a staple for every city girl or woman who loves to travel. View PostLast night I went to Slice TV/Shaw Media HQ for the premiere of Big Brother Canada. It’s the first time we’ve had our own season in Canada and people are going crazy over it. I watched one season religiously when I lived in Australia in 2004. I joined a bunch of media and seasoned BB Celebrity Dan Gheesling. No i did not eat this slop! Gross. A cup of berries did me just fine. There’s a great bar on the 16th floor lounge at Shaw media. I hope to go to more parties there. There was a Head of House (HOH) competition and it was hilarious how sad the competition was. Aaaaaand hat’s all I’m gonna say about that! I really hope this guy Peter wins. He’s already a YouTube star. I vote for the NERD! It’s pretty crazy/fascinating that you can watch the housemates 24/7 online. I remember reading 1984 in high school and being really interested. Doesn’t surprise me at all that I’m on the Internet writing about my life over a decade later. In other news, tonight is the Nella Bella Spring SS launch, then a party at ARD with Bud Light Platinum, and a Grey Goose Cherry Noir event at Bloke & 4th. Is it the weekend yet?! View PostAbout a month ago I got this jacket from Faded Soul online. I love it. It’s got a cool shape, nice front pockets, has a big hood, and fits like a poncho. I creeped online to learn it’s from European brand Napajuri. They have a really cute campaign with a couple travelling across Europe in the clothes. People get to vote on what they do on the journey. I want to BE IN this campaign. It’s so cute. She’s blonde too. I’ve been asked where I got it so I checked and there are still more! The site is fadedsoul.com and you can find it here. Mine is a size small. I think there might be a fur hood to add from what I see in photos. They have heaps of stuff for guys and girls. They’re on Facebook and Twitter too. Brock ordered some sweet John Varvatos shoes and posted photos here. I was immediatley attracted to this other brand I’d never heard of called ‘Blondes make Better T-Shirts’. The shirts are, well, blonde and fun. I got the ‘Skinny’ and ‘Pull’. Tres cute. Last week I was sent this striped ballet shrug from Ch*arms. I wasn’t sure what was arriving but once opened the package I knew these were gonna come in handy. I also got set of sleeves that velcro to your bra strap for under short sleeve shirts. I wish I thought of this! They retail for $28 and can be purchased online at ch-armz.com. View PostYep, TIFF is still in full force for the next few days. Doesn’t it seem like forever? Wore a cute outfit yesterday. Schoolgirl skirt is hand painted by Beaucoup Fashion House, Vans ‘Sophie’ shoes, shirt was a gift, Nella Bella Avalon bag. Went uptown to shoot w/ Candice for her show on Coral TV, The Edgy Veg. She made a delicious face mask and slopped it on me. The episode comes out Thursday so make sure you subscribe to Coral by then. There is lots of laughing in this one. Then we eat the mask. I was invited to the beautiful Birks Jewellers suite in the new Shangri-La hotel to preview the new Muse collection. It was diamond heaven! Thanks to Fiji Water & Birks for having me. It was a nice break in the afternoon. Glass of champagne at 3pm really takes the edge off! I loved the rings, especially the costume huge ones and the Canadian double diamond leaf. The ombre pearls are also incredibly beautiful. Perhaps I can borrow for a huge event sometime? Hint, hint. Besos to the team for my gift, feeling the love! Saw the film ‘The IceMan‘ with Barbie in the evening. It was excellent. Michael Shannon is an incredible actor. There was a star studded cast including Ray Liotta, Winona, James Franco, and Chris Evans. They were all there after to talk about the film. Seeing the actors in real life really makes you appreciate their hard work, talent, and career. There is another screening today at noon. If you can make it to the Rush Line, go. View PostOCD packed a suitcase. Suitcase broke. Do you do this too? Five pairs of shoes 2.5 days, about right! Two pairs of Jeffrey Campbells, Sperry’s, Converse & MK thongs. New NellaBella bag, the ‘Avalon’ is perfect for my Macbook. All my outfits have been from 3F. Long black maxi dress on the plane, blue bell bottoms & yellow stripes last night, today khakis & navy ruffle tank. It fits both Dell Ultrabook & Macbook Air, not that I often take them both but one day last weekend I did. I went a little crazy on the NellaBella when I stopped by last week. This the Moscow was my carryon. It expands so you can fit a heap of stuff in it. Or, if you are like me and gather all kinds or pack in a rush, super handy. It’s PRIDE week in Toronto. I’m missing the parade this year for the first time in the last 7 years so head up north and see the Tragically Hip, Death Cab For Cutie, New Pornographer’s & Rural Alberta Advantage on Canada Day. View PostLast night a friend and I caught The National Theatre of The World’s monthly presentation of the Carnegie Hall show. It was funny. The only non-funny part was when I yelled out Carly Rae Jepson when they asked for a name but they didn’t get it.The potential for LOLs was there! They had it! I love the B&W photos of all the comedians who’ve been part of Second City over the years. John Candy was my fav, what a great Canadian. The show is made of working comedians, MATT BARAM (Second City), CHRIS GIBBS (The British one), RONALD PEDERSON (Mad TV), and NAOMI SNIECKUS (Mr. D, Second City). They’re Canadian Comedy Award winners for Best Improv Troupe three years running. Way to go guys! Notice my name? Let me remind you the entire world, It’s Casie not Cassie. View PostAll I packed/need for seven full days fits into my Rimowa super light suitcase & Nella Bella Melbourne bag. Key to the perfect travel outfit for me is layering. Today I wore a little black cotton dress w/ sheer long skirt, cardigan, tights, heels & a hat. I could feel the warm air when we landed so I ditched the cardigan and tights before I left the plane. Found my suitcase in the airplane magazine! I promise I’m not a diva. Haha! The place I’m staying is a Mexican Melrose Place! First meal was tacos as a place called Kool Fish. Shrimp, yum! Went for a stroll around town. Pretty quiet. However, it IS Monday. Think it gets a little wilder come weekend. Made plans to party it up on Saturday. Had THE BEST Mayan chocolate ice cream. View PostOffsite shows during FW are my fav. Attended Greta Constantine SS 2012 last night. One thing I love about FW is seeing all the fashion faces together. Last night felt less snobby than usual. View PostThis morning I shared a story about my childhood with my friends at Nella Bella. I popped in to say hello as I’d not seen them in a few and I love them. They made me retire my old most fav ever NB bag (tear) & hooked me up with a beauty new one. Thanks team <3 We were chatting about confidence and how important it is to have, especially for kids. We talked about dressing up our younger siblings and also how parents give their kids so much choice these days. What’s up with that anyways? [pause…here come the Mommy Bloggers. haha] When I was little Mum have me choice but not too much. She used to let me pick out my clothes and would lay two outfits on the bed for me to pick one to wear. Well, that wasn’t good enough for me. I’ve always been a creative so when Mum would lay out my outfits I’d mix them up together and make something new. One time I wore this orange shirt with green shorts and one orange/one green sock. Mum let me wear what I liked. One of the other Mum’s on our street said to her “Are you really gonna let her wear that?” All Mum said “If she feels confident wearing that then she can go for it!” Thank you Mum for being that way with me. Big thanks to Calvin & Regency Limo for setting up the most awesome airport delivery ever. I had never been in a limo before so I was absolutely buzzing with excitement! Chantelle has been lucky enough to ride in a limo in the past when her friend hired a limo service newark for her 30th birthday. She was still excited to travel like a celeb though! Our driver Andrew even got us coffee. LOVE YOU! It was 5:30am, so necessary! Was kinda like a wild disco in there. If you wanna book one like us ring 416-785-1222. Tell them we’re friends. Sunrise was real pretty this AM. I should wake up earlier more often. I really love mornings. Made it through airport security no prob. View PostLet’s go. I’ve not been someone who loves driving until now. I love grabbing the keys and hitting the open road, going anywhere I want. Today, I visited old neighbourhoods. I’ve driven a few different cars over the last few months (Ford, GM, Toyota). Really like how this baby drives, takes corners well, is nice on the highway, leather seats, sunroof, voice activated in-vehicle system. Looking forward to trying a hybrid car and also cars with more power. The SE Sport Ford Fusion has a 3.5 V6 engine, this one is 2.5L & 4 cylinder. Used to live in the Annex when I first moved to TO. There was five of us at 613 Bathurst, here. Went here on a date once. There was a sign that said “This is the place” and we went inside to find a house turned into a bar. It was really fun/cute. I’d like to do it again. Been ages since I listened to 102.1 The Edge. Was full of greatness today. Bellwoods looked bare. Am I bad for camera driving? I wasn’t texting or tweeting. Used to live on Manning at Queen too. That was a crazy time. Moving out of that hood was good. I always used to go here for breakfast. Had a birthday there once too. Sad it burned down. Nice to see everyone & nice clothes. One of the things I did not like was this scissor wall. Freaked me right out. One of the things I did like was this D&G ‘Cry Baby’ Johnny Depp tee. View PostLooking at my own house from the tarmac at Porter. It took me <15min to walk there, in heels. Who WALKS to the airport? You bet your ass I felt damn cool strollin’ rollin’ in that door. Right before I boarded the plane something awesome happened, I got my first ever FULL PATDOWN in PUBLIC! It was done by a hot babe and we were giggling. I told her I was gonna blog about it. I had the hugest smile on my face the whole time. They really pat you down all over if ya know what I mean 😉 Toronto Island is quite pretty, will look even nicer once the trees get all greened up. I really notice a differnece between my old camera (Cannon Elph) and the new camera (Olympus XZ-1) when taking shots from the air. New is MUCH clearer. Started reading the poetry book sent to me by Vanessa Grillone, My Pen My Voice. I’m thinking I really should re-issue my poetry book. I wrote some pretty aweosme stuff when I was young.
