Be Someone Who Makes You Happy

Tonight was a good one. Hair did, cooking, cleaning, packing, and a little Netflix. Exciting (secret project) planning after work tomorrow followed by an event on the roof at Thompson  with work + Molson. This is my life, I’m grateful, nervous, and excited.  It’s funny [something] having a public diary, I feel like I’m writing to myself, or often Mum. [Hi Mum, ring you at work today, love you!] LA, one more day away. 🙂 And earlier today… Ted Baker + Thomas Sabo. (CLICK TO SEE POSTS FROM BEFORE TODAY) xo CASIE

How do you get ideas?

Good morning! I did lots of cooking this weekend and got a main pedi w/ my man yesterday. It felt like being at the cottage without being at the cottage. I got lots of sleep too. Found this little book while cleaning up and as I started flipping the pages, I was reminded just how many ideas I have a day. My mind is like a crazy labyrinth with winding passages and ideas at every turn. It feels great to have had a relax-around-the-house weekend. He calls me ‘DomestiCasie’ when I’m in that mode, cute. We are off to California on Thursday for a six day adventure. I can’t wait! Picked up these gorgeous Rimowa cases for our travels. I snagged a couple goodies at the Blogger Bazar yesterday. If there is another, def worth stopping by! Will surely pick up a few things in LA too. Busy three days ahead! Sending you sunshine and hope you have a wonderful day. <3 CASIE Buy Flomax online Buy Abilify online Buy Aciphex online

My idea of a good picture is one that’s in focus and of a famous person.

Hello & happy Thursday to you! Keri always says Thursday is the best night of the week and for me this week, it’s the first night I don’t have anything planned. I’m going to go home, accept first Grocery Gateway delivery, make dinner, do some laundry, clean some of the house, and watch a movie on the Netflix with my love. (If you have a reco LMK!) There’s such comfort in being domestic when you are always on the go! Last night COMMUNITY had an event with Bacardi and the Blue Jays, huge thanks to friends who joined us to open Bacardi at the Park on level 200, section 233. We had @BacardiCanada trending in Toronto, which, for (me) the Social Media Director is the best. The PR team and I were all like… Also, I love Mean Girls and I WISH THIS WAS REAL. In other news.. The film I am “It’s All About ME“,  premieres NEXT MONTH on the BIG SCREEN and tickets are now on sale. Give a ring to the box office at 416-362-5570 or reach them online at commffest.com. I wanna grow up to be a famous person. Title is an Andy quote of course. I’ve always loved him for his work and outlook on life. I’d like to think I carry some of that around with me everywhere I go. I have a category tagged Warhol if you every want some inspiration or a break from everyday life. Sending sunshine to you and everyone around you. It’s kind of fun to do the impossible. – Walt Disney #disneyvacay

Last night I had dinner with the Toronto group of media/bloggers going to Disneyland, California next week. We have a full action packed six days of everything a little girl could dream of matched with big girl dreams of parties, shopping, and fine dining. We get to to visit the original Walt Disney apartment (that was only opened to the public last year), rides, haunted house, sunset cruise and more. It’s going to be so romantic.  I’ll be there with my BF and besties having the most fun at the happiest place on earth. Can’t.  Freaking. Wait.  Yesterday I got myself a dozen roses from Loblaws ($9.99!) and when I arrived back at the office I had received a flower delivery! These beauties arrived from a friend on Twitter just to brighten my day. How did he know! Thank you 🙂 Here’s to making today a great day. I’ve got a special lunch at the Trump Hotel followed by a work walkthrough at the Rogers Centre, and a beauty launch at the Thompson Hotel post work. Put a smile on that pretty face of yours 🙂 <3 CASIE Buy Tadalafil online Buy Abilify online Buy Aciphex online

NOISEY + VICE present: Before Monday Comes – Berlin

Exciting news! Meet my first post in a partnership with one of my fav companies in the world, VICE! I’ve been reading the mag for about 10 years after finding it outside a cool little boutique in Bondi Beach, Australia. I’ve blogged heaps about VICE since then and attended a ton of VICE parties in back alleys, abandoned spaces, and hipster hangouts. VICE’s music channel Noisey, is launching a new series called Before Monday Comes. The 8 episode series is the ultimate weekend adventure of eating, drinking, dancing, music, and partying across five cities in five countries.  It looks like a whole lotta fun, and partying, and fun. Check out this episode from Berlin and get  a glimpse into some of the worlds most exciting underground music scenes via Dismantle and Boxfresh.  The series is them travelling around and checking out party scenes in New York, Beijing, Berlin, Stockholm and London as part of a partnership with Boxfresh. I love it. BEFORE MONDAY COMES – BERLIN Tweet Share with friends who like to PARTY!

Professional Tennis 2013: Venus & Serena

I had no idea who was playing in the first round today when my Rogers Cup tickets arrived from National Bank.I though a Monday night match with my man would be a nice way to finnish off a great long weekend. I’ve never been to this tennis match because I’ve been so hardcore Telus for ages. I still love Telus. It’s crazy how sporting events are branded. Brands everywhere, everywhere a brand, brand. I really liked the Xerox 360 camera booth (got a poster and flipbook) and I won a magazine from the Rogers Zone, the National Bank booth with Andrew Richards Design furniture was a nice place to relax. I saw several charging stations and had free parking with the tickets. There is a shuttle from parking to front door and it’s on until August 11th. Overal fun time and so cool to see IRL, actually. Turns out I picked a great night to come to a match… Two awesome players (and sisters woot!), Venus and Serena Williams played doubles in an exhibition w/ Monica Seles and Eugenie Bouchard. Not bad for my first ever professional tennis match. There was a great atmosphere and I enjoyed myself a lot! I’ve even looked into getting tennis lessons myself now. All I need is a good racquet and some tennis balls and I’m good to go. I’ve learned more about us, especially myself, in this tennis match! It’s certainly ignited a flame I didn’t know I had. It’s funny cause we can hear them talking/laughing in this exhibition game. #Williams #sisters #tennis… http://t.co/C1FbwWuccz – CASIE STEWART (@casiestewart) August 6, 2013 Wearing new pants I got at Ted Baker in NY. Heading to Manhattan and Staying in a Dream

Bag packed and heading to Porter after work. Catching a 7:30pm to Newark, NJ w/ my press escort aka Patricia. My trip is with essence cosmetics, the UK’s #1 brand who also happens to be the title sponsor of JB’s tour. We arrive in NY just in time to head out on the town for Thursday night drinks. Tomorrow I plan to sleep in then hit up the NY Ted Baker store to get a new outfit for Friday night. Hardly packed anything! Counting down till 5:30pm when I head to airport. Listened to The Edge this morning, such a funny radio show. Thought I was so great taking the TTC this morning instead of Hailo and then I got surprised with a $12 chocolate bar when I got my coffee. Ruby Tuesday Baby in Coral Crush

Good morning sunshine 🙂 Hope your day is off to a great start. Brandy Melville bag with “Friend of Saul” and “The Next Zuck” buttons. Got the Zuck one in Austin at SXSW.  Love this Ted Baker makeup tote and I have about 10 of these new Maybelline lipsticks. They’re all the same colour on the outside so it’s kinda hard to know which is which. Today’s colour is Coral Crush. These Sperry’s are so old and starting to crumble but I love them so much. I saw a new similar style but they had different animal prints and they were too tacky.  In other news, it’s beautiful out. I love it. The #casiebieber winner has been contacted, thanks for entering!

Too bad I didn’t stop by Cabana Pool Bar yesterday to see my boy JB and tell him about this great contest with his tour sponsor essence cosmetics! Thanks to everyone who entered the contest. On Twitter alone there were 125,923 estimated impressions from 62 Twitter mentions. Whoa mama! I drew a random name this morning and the winner has been contacted. If you are wondering why I didn’t announce them publicly it’s because I learned from my work at MuchMusic that the Beliebers can get mighty angry about winning/losing a chance to see their idol and I want to protect them from any chance of bullying. (BTW shame on yourselves if that’s you!) You’ll know who it is on Thursday when they are Tweeting from the concert! I can’t wait to see him in NYC. It’ll be great to get away for a few days and *hopefully* I’ll get that meet and greet the essence team mentioned! I will actually be my the third time I’ve seen him. I was the Social Media Manager of the MMVAs when he was there in 2010. NBD.  This is the dress I had made by Peach Berserk with his face on it along with other nominees.  Ahhh, memories… I’ll see if I can give away any more tickets from the tour. No promises! Hope your day is going in the right direction. Sending positive vibes your way 🙂 <3 CASIE

Blog Life: Sometimes I don’t feel like it. #9

It’s a weird and wonderful thing having a blog, a public diary about your life. I love going back and reading about my adventures, Googling photos and finding lost memories, but, sometimes I don’t feel like it. This week, is one of those. Although, there’s no shortage of Instagrams and Tweets, Pins and reblogs on Tumblr flooding the Internet daily, all posted by me. This weekend I’m packing up my condo to move to the new house and I couldn’t be more happy about it don’t feel like it. I wanna play outside! I can’t wait for my trips to NY & LA next month. I’ll be back up at the cottage next weekend too. I reckon I’ll catch up on posts this weekend and we’ll be back business in no time! Hope you’re having a stellar day and sitting in somewhere with AC. The Tragically Hip to Play at Bridle Bash V on August 3

One of the BEST parties I’ve EVER been to is the Bridle Bash. It’s held at a friends private residence on the Bridle Path and brings together and awesome group of people, partiers, and musical guests. This year, THE TRAGICALLY HIP are playing in the ravine backyard for about 800 guests. It’s going to be so freaking awesome! Last time my sister and I went to BB, we ended up on the society page of the Globe & Mail, in the photo above. We put a  canoe in the pool and proceeded to give out vodka filled flasks to people all around. It was fantastic. Tickets for BBV can be purchased here and start at $500 each. All the money goes to the Bridle Bash Foundation which supports an array of charities and events in the city of Toronto. For more info on the bash visit the event website here. We’ve got our tickets and I can’t wait. It’s one of those parties  you’ll never forget. I have a feeling this year will top the last one! If you’re gonna be there LMK in the comments or Tweet me! Netflix Canada Contest: Orange is the New Black?

OK, I started this book today. Sitting on Queen Street in the shade waiting for (rain) someone boyfriend. Netflix sent me a signed copy from the author. Autograph is orange highlighter, naturally. It sounds good, the creator of Weeds made it. Scroll down if you want the prize only, winner gets the following.. PRIZE PS3 ($269 Future Shop) Six month Netflix Canada subscription ($48) Author signed copy of Orange Is The New Black book (Piper Kerman Priceless) I love Netflix and I watch heaps of moves. Last year they sent me a FIVE YEAR subscription and I am excited because more series are being produced for Netflix ONLY. [I was a subscriber before they contacted me.] WATCH THIS IT’S FUNNY Taryn Manning, Donna from That 70’s Show, Jason Biggs (American Pie),  and Janeane Garofalo. LOVE IT.  I like this story, from the first chapters, because I could be this person. So could you. It’s not that hard to get trapped in a cross-border love/drug smuggling scandal. I saw Broke Down Palace, I know how this works.   HOW TO WIN This is a totally made up contest – WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO SAVE ME IN JAIL? Tweet Basically this could happen to anyone, right? In order to pay her debt to society (for a 10 year-old drug money thing smuggling for an African Drug Lord), Piper must trade her comfortable New York life with fiancé  Larry (Jason Biggs) for an orange jumpsuit and prison life. It’a a wild roller coaster  I haven’t read it all yet but SOMEONE LIKE YOU can have a new PS3 to watch it. Imagine I was in jail… I’d be like a junior Martha Stewart. Naturally. PS3 plays Blueray.  This is a fun contest. Tweet or die FTW. Much love, CASIE

I’m going to @Disneyland in California!

I’ve been invited to the happiest place on EARTH! Yes, it’s true. I’ll be spending six days next month in sunny California touring Disneyland, staying at THE Disneyland Hotel, and hanging out in the OC and LA with their tourism boards. It’s every  girls dream come true! I’m hoping to recreate a photo of me with Mickey Mouse that was taken when I was a toddler. Mum, did you find that yet? These pix are from the Disneyland archives (via LA Times) and this little ticket is the first one ever sold. It’s been a while since I had a vacation and I can’t wait. Disney has also invited my BFF Lauren, a bunch of other bloggers, and I’m bringing my BF. I’ve never been so thankful to be  a blogger! I can see me wearing tulle, and Mickey Mouse ears the whole time. Ahhhhh! I’ll be sharing  moments as they happen on Twitter/Instagram and documenting the entire trip with my new Canon DSLR. If you’ve ever been to Disney or have any tips for LA and the OC, please leave in the comments! It’s been a couple years since I was in LA and I’ve never been to the OC! Squeeeee! CASIE

Crackdown on Public Drinking in Bellwoods

Was having lunch in Bellwoods with a friend today (as I so often do) and I must look like a hipster because I was interviewed by CBC about the recent crackdown on drinking in the park. Just another day, #CBC interview on my lunch break about drinking alcohol in the park. #thisismylife… http://t.co/2g0Afbw2VW — CASIE STEWART (@casiestewart) July 3, 2013 Think of the Can Ladies: Don’t Crack Down on Drinking in Trinity Bellwoods http://t.co/bO7POAuepJ via @VICECANADA — CASIE STEWART (@casiestewart) July 3, 2013   I’m not sure when it will air but if you catch me on the tele, snap a pic! Apparently neighbours of the park have been cracking down on reporting public drinking and drug use (joint smoking?) in Bellwoods. I’ve had my share of afternoons in the park drinking a few tall cans with friends, it’s really fun! All I have to say is, if you’re drinking the park, don’t make a mess or be too obvious. Enjoy the sunshine out there, it’s turned into a beautiful day! <3 CASIE

Tech | Heart on for Social TV and Data Visualization

If you didn’t see this video on social TV from Twitter check it out. Pretty neat data visualization. I LOVE social TV. Something I’ve been really passionate about since working at a TV station a couple years ago. The magic of Twitter and TV fascinates me. I love real time communication, advertising, and interaction. I hope to work more in that space again one day. Last year at Banff World Media Festival, social TV was such a hot topic. Here’s my episode on Coral TV where I chat about upcoming trends, these are all relevant one year later! In other news, Vizify is a wicked way to visualize your social resume. You Want Me Down on Earth, But I Am Up In Space

I got this feeling on the summer day when you were gone…  I crashed my car into the bridge. I watched, I let it burn. I threw your sh*t into a bag and pushed it down the stairs cleaned the house, baked cookies, and make kale chips. Happy Fathers Day! They are a little burnt but I DON’T CARE, I LOVE IT. He’s in LA for the LA Roadsters Fathers Day show. I don’t care, I love it. With me in photos is Nataleigh from Coral TV. Photos by Shannon Litt Today is the Field Party, one of the BIGGEST MMVA weekend shindigs. It’s run by my friend Karine Delage and last year I filmed an episode of THIS on Coral TV at the event. It’s the spot everyone goes before hitting the red carpet (or bar) at the MMVAs. Tonight, I’m planning to go to the Universal Music party and the 235 Films party for the Drake video (my BF worked on Started from the Bottom).  Last year he (BF) won an MMVA award for DWW’s ‘Big Wheels’ vid.
