Received quite a lovely gift in the mail from my love, Ted Baker London today. Was invited to be an ambassador for the launch campaign in Canada last year and I’m back for Spring! This year celebrates the 25th celebration of Ted Baker London and they’ve got some fun stuff planned.   For Spring 2013, Ted Baker London has launched a Finishing School.  I loved this idea because I went to modelling school as a teenager, which was much like finishing school. Under Ted’s orders we’re all in detention this week. The first 500 lucky students to enter their line of the day through Twitter, Facebook or Instagram will receive a limited edition tote adorned with their line. One student will be chosen and rewarded top of the class by a fashion blogger for especially creative and inspired entries. Prize for that is a beautiful leather satchel embossed with their initials. DO YOU LOVE IT?! I love school! (Hardly ever had detention from what I remember?) Follow @ted_baker and @ted_bakerUSA and tag your posts with #TedBakerLines. We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented.

Latest app in my photo collection is DBLCAM. Uses both front & back facing cameras to take one picture, tell both sides of the story. It’s free. I love using multiple apps to make creative images. I was making collages of my face and text LONG before apps like Diptic (collage) and Over (text). Learn about those apps by watching my show on Coral TV  (iPhonography/Overgram). Filmed a couple new eps in the park today that’ll be released in the next few weeks. My show hits the internet airways each Friday afternoon at youtube.com/coral. Watched Sixteen Candles last night. Love the style Molly has in the Brat Pack movies. I am going to go shopping this weekend and buying myself some new spring clothes. I’ve been cleaning out my closet and have a huge bag to take to the Salvo for donation. Spring cleaning feels so good. View was looking pretty nice when I got home from work. I love daylight savings because it feels like getting done work an hour early.  I watched the yellow eye of a storm move across the skyline for 20 minutes till the air was filled with hail. It was a great day for mail too! Opened this lovely tea package from Tetley to find a magical little tea pot & cup for all my teas. Thank you! Received a Fashion Week Survival kit from FLAUNT. Thanks guys! Totally unexpected and appreciated! It’s got fabric goodies, body tape, silicone nip covers for daring outfits, and an eye mask which I will use tonight.  I’m ready for a good sleep. You’re the star Truman. <3 CASIE

About a month ago got an email from Butterfly Dreams Luxury Bed Linens Ltd. asking if I would like to receive a set of sheets. I’m Sorry.

I’m sorry I haven’t been blogging as much as I used to. I had a great chat with a friend and loyal blog reader this weekend about my blog THIS IS MY LIFE. I have been updating daily for years up until January of this year and to be honest, I was tired and didn’t really feel like sharing. Maybe I had the winter blues? I’ve also been feeling a little dissatisfied with the blog. I would like to implement a few changes like switching to a more reliable web hosting platform in order to improve my reader’s experience. However, I need to learn more about A2 Hosting first. I started blogging so I had a place to keep all my memories. A collection of people, places, things, and thoughts. It evolved, took me around the world, to red carpets, runways, TV, print, and even film. I would not have been able to do all those wonderful things without you guys reading about all the adventures. Thank you 🙂 In other news, I’m back on track this week after the nasty cold I had last week. Attended a funeral on the weekend and got to stop by and visit boith Mum and Dad with Sean. Always nice to give them hugs and have a few laughs. Mum framed these and kept them out to show me. I’ve always been an artistic kid… … with a flare for the media! This quote and artwork posted in the local paper when I was 7 years old. I hope your week is off to a great start! Have an awesome day, ♥ CASIE

Friday I’m in Love (with Weekend)

That long weekend was a magical thing. Was planning to head up north to the cottage but got stopped by the snow. Which, turned out for the better, got a bunch done around the house and we made it into a staycation. This is the awesome 3Dprint from the Hop Pop Factory kissing booth last week w/ Sean. We had such a great Valentines week long celebration starting last Sunday (with a little blue box gift from Tiffany’s!) and went until the following Monday. We’re both full time romatics so Valentines Day lasts all year.   He gave me the most beauty rose before a dinner date.   We went to Playa Cabana Cantina, Dundas West for Mexican. It was wonderful. I need a vacation. Kenny played a little prank at work on Friday.   Sean and I watched the entire season on House of Cards this weekend. great show. Had a chuckle at the movie categories on Netflix, can you guess who is who?   I love Claire’s style in House of Cards. Elegant, she means business. This week is gonna be a wet one. Don’t let it get you down. Spring will be here soon and the weekend even sooner Have a wonderful day 🙂

A Real Human Being

So, here’s the truth…I’m coming up on eight years of my blog in April. Eight is my fav number, lucky Chinese (I’m not Chinese), infinity symbol, I was born on the 8th of May. It was Mothers Day. My middle name is Diana, after The Princess. My Mum loved her. We have all the China (plates). Ok, here we go… My blog is only about 25% of my life if that. I don’t tell you most things that happen. I like privacy, although I am only learning what it means now. I’m extremely positive as a human, except for when I am sad. Which isn’t that often. But when I am, I am extremely lonely and like to be alone. Being popular or an ‘influencer’ doesn’t mean you have friends. Most days, I come home from the office and put on my LazyPants. $80 jogging pants, gifted, but available at Macy’s or Holt Renfrew. Baller, no. I go into my room, throw my 11″ Macbook, iPad, on the bed, take off my bra and throw on a t-shirt, then a scarf, and usually something on my head. I like my head covered, and my ears. I don’t know why I am telling you this, I’m mostly telling myself. I have been dealing with anxiety for a long time, I have never been to a doctor. I’m scared they either say “You are an absolute narcissistic nut, or you have a serious creative genius ability that transcends modern innovation. Ok, I’m being dramatic but I am not a ‘grey area’ person. We are getting into two paragraphs and most people will not be reading this. I need to write this down because I am TERRIFIED of losing my memory. I have had a few concussions, cheerleading fall, rollerblading accident, 12 feel…

Sometimes a dream looks like a meatpie, but it’s more than that.

There’s something to be said about following your dreams… I’ve always been a dreamer, always been a little ‘out there’. Someone with big ideas who looked at the world like I could go anywhere, achieve anything. To the moon Alice! The moon isn’t as far away as it used to be and it’s easier to get there if you know how. Today I had a dream. A small dream to some, but to me it was one I had been dreaming about for a long time. It was important to me. The small dream is part of a bigger dream. It’s all the small dreams along the way that helped the big dream come true. My dream was to have an English meat pie. It was part of the bigger dream of going to England that I have had since I was a teenager. [View the story “Meat Pie Dreams” on Storify] Meat Pie Dreams Storified by CASIE STEWART · Tue, Dec 04 2012 15:50:04 I walked a ways to get a meat pie cause the one location was sold out then when I got home realized it was a BUTTER TART. Your thoughts become things and the more positive thoughts you throw at those things, the more real the dream becomes. Then, one day you’re sitting on a king size bed, draped in a white fluffy, hotel robe, in your deluxe suite at Le Meridian Picadilly in London, England, FINALLY eating that god damn English meat pie you have SO been dreaming about. It’s that very moment you smile…

Pretty Princess Tam Tam & Leather Lover lunching…

Welcome to 50 Shades of HEYYYYYY! Bad joke, whatever. I got bored of the book and only made it half way. In other news, yesterday I peeped the 2013 leathers from Danier. I could use a new jacket, mine is ripped. There were some pretty lovely coloured leathers and a few bags I could have easy just walked out with. (I kid, I kid.) No really though. Love you leather long time. These are some of my favs! Upstairs was the preview of Princess Tam Tam 2013,  (who I was just introduced to) with adorable french llingere. “Princesse tam.tam, c’est une marque de femmes pour les femmes… Une saga unique, des produits et des couleurs étonnantes et détonantes.” Hello, I love you too. The styles are super cute, as the shapes and colours.  I’m crushing on the bright undergarments that would undoubtedly give you a bounce in your step (but not your bra!). Ha! Thanks Brill Communications for this lovely little camisole from Princess Tam Tam and vest from Danier. I’ve put a new leather on my holiday wish list and have my eyes on spring swimwear. I’m thinking these ones would be a good fit. Check these guys out on Facebook at Danier.com and PrincessTamTam.com. Only 20,000 days till summer! CASIE 🙂

Snakeskin Serena Stretch from Mavi

Got some new jeans in the mail from Mavi Canada! THANKS GUYS. Told them on Twitter how my most fav jeans were Mavi’s in highschool. I  worked at the mall and wore jeans all the time back then. I picked out Galaxy Blue and Snakeskin in the Serena style ‘perfect fit’. They actually fit perfect. The snakeskin ones are stretchier and than the blue ones. There’s lots of new technology in how denim is made these days and the new Mavi’s are more like pants (vs. jeans). I never forgot that Mavi means ‘denim’. A girl in my high school married a guy from Turkey (where they are made) and she was one of my style icons back then.  (Props if anyone can guess who she was? Blonde hair, petite.) You can get a pair of Mavi’s at Jean Machine. Check out the whole collection and fun website at ca.mavi.com. Happy Friday! Dress in good conscience. <3 CASIE

Rdio & Sync in the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Earlier this year I drove to Austin, Texas from Toronto in a Ford Focus with two friends, it was the playlist that made the long drive bearable. This summer I’ve been used Rdio, a music streaming service that is fairly new to Canada. You can use listen your favourite music on all devices online or off. You can also create playlists with friends and share your tunes on Twitter & Facebook. Rdio has been a hit at the cottage, awesome on the subway, and perfect for road trips. My free trial ran out last month and I IMMEDIATLEY went to pay for the service. That’s how you really know something is amazing. Below you will find my road trip playlist from my Montreal trip in August. It’s good to work with. It took about six hours to drive with traffic so having access to TONS of music in the car was essential.  I have the Rdio app on my iPhone and connected it to the Ford Fiesta using Sync & USB. You’ll need to turn on Bluetooth in your smart phone in order to connect it using Sync. If you are having trouble at all the manual has step by step instructions on getting you connected. Make sure you plug the phone right into the USB jack if you are not using Bluetooth. I got frustrated wondering why it wasn’t working until I realized… I plugged it into the car charger and not the actual car. Whoops! Using a USB to connect is a fool proof way to get your music from device to car. Happy Music Monday 🙂 CASIE

The Sweetest Thing: New Jeans, New Jacket, Jean Machine

The week before I started at Community I was CRAZY busy with TIFF events. One of the things that makes TIFF so busy is the insane amount of parties and outfit changes in between gift lounges & films. NO really, it’s actually stressful! My friend Val works with Jean Machine and they invited me to the Eaton Centre store to ….PICK OUT AN OUTFIT! I worked in the mall heaps during highschool and knew Jean Machine well. My first job was at GAP  in Fairview Park Mall. I used to wear a LOT of jeans back then and Jean Machine was my destination. I remember almost crying to Dad once I needed new jeans and in the car we went to Jean Machine. I wish like crazy I still has those super soft Silver’s from grade ten, I lived in those things. It’s been ages since I walked into a Jean Machine store and was happy to be re-introduced. They had Yoga Jeans, Mavi is still there, and some new brands. I tried on about 10 pairs with a stylist over the course of an hour. Decided on a pair of  flare (yes, and so long) jeans by Guido & Mary.  Low rise, slim fit, and BEST a$$ pants. No seriously. To complete my outfit I got a fitted blazer from the Jean Machine brand YDE. Wore the blazer at first day at work and jeans when I spoke last week at a conference week. Pop in and visit a Jean Machine store. You’ll be surprised by their updated coolness! Twitter is @JeanMachine 😉 Thank Val for inviting me. Her and I laughed our heads off and tried on clothes. It was super fun. A few of the Toronto blog girl were there and so posted them on her blog I’m Charming You.…

CIBC Run for The Cure 2012 – September 30!

This year I’m participating in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure on September 30, 2012. I’m running with Lauren, Sarah, Courtney, and Harmony as TEAM 5138008. Get it? BOOBIES! I’ve been training by running, dancing (joined a burlesque troupe!), eating healthy, and mentally preparing for 5k. At this point I can to 2.5k  and by 12 days from now, I’ll be ready! When I think about the estimated over 23,000 women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year in Canada, I’m happy to be supporting a cause that touches so many of us. I heard yesterday about a friends Mum being diagnosed with Breast Cancer and I wrote this post right away. As of right now I have raised 16% of my personal goal of $300. I would like to blow that number out of the WATER! You can make a difference. With your support, the Foundation will continue funding breast cancer research, education and health promotion initiatives across the country, making a difference from coast to coast. To learn more about the work the Foundation does, visit www.cbcf.org Will you support me in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure? A donation of $20, $50 or $100 will really help me get closer to my fundraising goal. Of course, any donation will make a difference and help create a future without breast cancer. This photo is from DRESSED presented by Maybelline during Fashion’s Night Out at Burroughes in Toronto. Thanks F-List & Leesa Butler! See the set on F-List’s Facebook. Friend in the middle is Miche Foran. I mentioned her as one of my fav designers in a recent eBay ‘Style Stories’ profile. She’s just getting started but has amazing style, designs, headwear. We’re both Taurus, love her. Yesterday was awesome. This is my first ‘official’ day outfit. We have a farmers market in our neighbourhood this weekend. CN Tower looking beautiful as always, it’s getting colder out now. WTHR app is hard to get used to. I keep reverting to my ‘traditional’ weather app. Saw some cool old records on my way home from work. Got a free cupcake. Brock McLaughlin has a new campaign for RW&Co? He’s blogging now, it’s entertaining. I always loved this movie and still want to be a mermaid. <3 CASIE I wish I could be friends with these girls and make up dances with them. We’d be the coolest crew in Toronto. youtu.be/kpZhZAr1cQU — Lauren O’Nizzle (@laurenonizzle) September 18, 2012 [View the story “So Yesterday: Sweet Tweets” on Storify] So Yesterday: Sweet Tweets Storified by CASIE STEWART · Mon, Sep 17 2012 19:16:49 The next 7 people that come in and whisper the secret word "@pulpandfiber" get a FREE Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip!Dlish Cupcakes ® @casiestewart stay connected for more FREE "whisper" cupcakes and welcome to the hood :)Dlish Cupcakes ® @casiestewart Seeing this made me think of your Angela Bauer tweet last week. http://pic.twitter.com/XfGC5XgkBrian Niño This made me laugh so hard. TIFF Thursday @ The Drake Hotel: Overdrive Party

What are you doing Thursday night? Not on the VIP list and/or over whelmed by Facebook invites to all kinds of things you aren’t sure will be cool or not? Don’t worry. You are not alone. There is a zillion bajillion things happening on Thursday, September 6th. My friends at The Drake Hotel & RockIt Promo have an awesome party that brings together glam girls and the bad boys of cinema. Party starts at @9PM and is sponsored by Stella Artois + Sailor Jerry. Performances over the night include The Darcys, Still Life Still , and Dinosaur Bones. The Sailor Jerry mobile tattoo shop (so cool) will be out front doing free tattoos and hurrrrrcuts. My goal is to make it there, avoid the line, and a little more ink. My half sleeve arms is all traditional theme so this is PERFECT. The Drake will for sure have a line but it will be worth waiting based on my (parting) experience. There will be a slew of ‘Drake Overdrive’ Cocktails with some named after  Steve McQueen, James Dean, and Dennis Hopper. I named my Macbook James Dean. So Sexy. Once I took a great photo of Brock Mclaughlin where he looked JUST like Jakes Dean. Here we go… that was a fun night. Having a blog is a like your very own reference library! If you are looking for something else… My homies over at BestFan has partnered up with A&R Report for their first ever music Showcase at Hard Rock, Yonge-Dundas. It’s all Toronto artists and proceeds from the evening will be going towards Musicounts, Canada’s music education charity. Deets below or see the full list of performers here. Don’t forget Fashion’s Night Out too. Or the Glitz & Glamour TIFF Gala for Canadian Breast Cancer at Arcadian Court. I hope you make it out to something RAD. This is not the night you wanna be on the couch. Happy TIFF…

eBay Style Stories – Casie Stewart

This week I’m featured in the Style Stories series for eBay Canada. I’m wearing a vintage dress from Timeless Apparel on Queen at Spadina. I used to shop there heaps when Emma and Sammy worked there. Boots are vintage and my hair is done by Darren at Darren Kwik Studio on Queen near Trinity Bellwoods. Here is the photo and some extra shots. Read the feature here by visiting stylestories.ebay.ca/casie-stewart. Did you know that @casiestewart loves vintage clothing? Yep! Read her eBay Style Story for fashion tips here: stylestories.ebay.ca/casie-stewart — eBay.ca (@eBayCanada) September 4, 2012 A few questions from the interview: What was your favourite eBay find ever? Kids, vintage leather motorcycle jacket. Next time I might have to combine my ebay purchases with some online promo codes, my friend used some and she got some great savings! What is your guilty pleasure? Young & the Restless. #yandr Whose closet would you raid and why? Nicole Richie, we have similar style and she loves vintage too. What is your dream getaway? Going on a World Tour! What was your first concert? Britney Spears at ACC. Went to the eBay office July, 11th, blogged that day right here. I remember trying to iron this dress and almost burned a hole in it. Whoops! Mum, I promise I know what I’m doing here! Yes, one of the things I really love (that you will now if you follow me on Twitter) is the Young and the Restless. Don’t laugh. Oh, by the way did you ever see this? YES FOR ME OMG! I die. Every. Single. Time.

A Hard Days Night

It’s Tuesday and you are back to work. Hold your head high and put on a smile. I hope you had an awesome weekend. Lucky for us the weather is warm and the sun is gonna be out all week. I relaxed a lot this weekend. Spent time alone, got good sleeps. I wrote, I read, I cooked, I cleaned. I laid on the couch with the tv on playing with my iPhone. It was magical. One of the best things about ‘double Sunday’ as Raymi calls it is one extra day to do things you have not been doing. I even sewed something with Zoey my sewing machine. I feel new again! Quote below is by Steve Jobs from the blog of Jack Dorsey who created Twitter. Mashable posted 15 Steve Jobs quotes over the weekend and if you are looking for some Monday Tuesday Motivation, you’ll find it here. “My model for business is The Beatles: They were four guys that kept each other’s negative tendencies in check; they balanced each other. And the total was greater than the sum of the parts. Great things in business are not done by one person, they are done by a team of people.” Steve Jobs Photo by Hawaii at the CNE over the weekend. My hair is in Beatles mode. We listened to heaps of Beatles growing up. I love when Mum tells the story of them first getting a TV in New Zealand to watch the Beatles arrive.  I can only imagine how exciting that would have been. Do something exciting today.  CASIE P.S. In other interesting and nerdy news you can now analyze your Facebook data by going to Wolfram Alpha’s site and typing “Facebook report” into the search box. Have fun!
