Christmas in July is Fun

I love the holidays and yes I know they are months away BUT that doesn’t mean we can’t think about decorating or throw fake snow in a 360 camera rig. ???? I went to holiday events for Hudson Bay, Sears, and Canadian Tire recently and they were all quite lovely. The Sears preview at Story’s Building smelled like Christmas when you walked in and had live music from Kat’s band Lady be Good. They had a holiday house setup with different rooms filled with all the housewares from Debby Travis, new clothes in the Jessica line, and a kids room filled with toys and clothes. I took at seat at the art station for kids and left a pretty pink holiday drawing. There was a lot of nice stuff especially the housewares, its been a loooong time since I checked out a Sears and this was a nice nostalgia Time to party! @casiestewart is in the #searsfalliday house making holiday #art, scouting out cool #fashions and #homefurnishings, and bringing good cheer! #cocktails #toronto A photo posted by Deborah Weinstein (@deborahweinstein) on Jul 19, 2016 at 2:58pm PDT Having holiday fun at the @Searsholiday house! HBC has some great stuff coming for the holidays and late September they’ll have toys in store. There’s a whole collection of new items added to the traditions HBC stripes including puffer jackets and jammies. I was really feeling the Wrap Me paper you can have customized at HBC on Queen Street with your own images. As soon as I walked into Canadian Tire’s Christmas in July I could smell…

Post-Op Update

It’s been just over a week since my surgery and I’m feeling more like myself today, finally. I didn’t realize how much having huge boobs affected my mental health. Everyday when I got dressed I’d try an find an outfit that carefully hid them enough not to be obnoxious but also looked cute. I actually feel a big weight off not only my chest but my shoulders in an emotional way. It was so easy for me to make a huge mess trying to find something to wear each day. Clothes mountain was a regular occurrence, I’d try things on then toss ’em on the bed or floor with frustration. I’m so glad I didn’t get rid of clothes that were a little too small, I can wear them now! Last week I wore a jacket from Nasty Gal I ordered online about 2 years ago and it fit like a charm. Before last week, it looked unbalanced and too small to sit nicely on the chest. I’m a size 4 at most stores and often I’d get a tops size L or a 10 just to fit them in. Now, so many of my dresses, button down shirts, and T-shirts actually fit. They’re not stressed at the buttons or stretched. It feels amazing!  The whole process of going through surgery was less horrifying and painful than I imagined. My surgeon, Dr. Rice, was really great and his staff helped calm my nerves through the whole process. For the first 3 days I was really in pain, couldn’t move much, needed pain killers. The next 2 days I was feeling good, able to walk around. On the 6th day I felt so great after my post-op appointment. I went out for dinner, then met up with friends, stayed up late, and had a few drinks. In hindsight, this was…

FYI Spring Sale @ Polette Eyewear – 25% off!

It’s spring and who doesn’t love new sunnies! The eyewear company in France I’ve been rocking for the past 2 years has a sale on rn for 25% off! Use code ‘Spring’ at the checkout, sale ends on April 26th. Writing a quick post from the cottage as I’ve been working my BOOTY off doing yard week etc around this place to get it ready for summer.  I’ve been taking time to relax since my Costa Rica trip, that digital detox was like hitting the reset button. I’m looking forward to a great week! I’ve been part of the Polette Blogger team for a bit now and amassed a big collection. I love that they’ve got heaps of different styles, new ones all the time, and you can afford to pick up more than one pair. They’re got a new means of distribution cutting out rhe middle man and sending you glasses right from their factory where they have a lab and lenses. They’ve got great prices and so many original frames. I love getting their emails because there are SO MANY NEW ONES all the time. I never leave home without my sunnies no matter time of day or season, but I also find I lose/break a few along the way. These are a few of my favs! A photo posted by ? Social |Changes to Instagram Newsfeed ⤵️

Word on the street is that the new Instagram timeline is dropping tomorrow. Here’s what you need to know! Apparently 70% of us are missing posts we actually wanna see, this new algorithm will hopefully make it better. For advertisers, this means you really need to pay to play Hopefully, the changed algorithm will result in more likes for us all. Although, I haven’t been in need of many more links since finding the best powerlikes service on the internet. If your favorite musician shares a video from last night’s concert, it will be waiting for you when you wake up, no matter how many accounts you follow or what time zone you live in. And when your best friend posts a photo of her new puppy, you won’t miss it. – Instagram blog If you’ve been on IG the last 24 hours you might have noticed a ton of posts tagged #turnmeon or #turnonnotifications, this is people asking for you to make a slight change so you don’t miss their posts. It’s kinda annoying and tbh, I don’t want to notifications from everyone, there’s a bunch of people I follow that I should probably just unfollow. BUT, if you want to turn on notifications for your fav peeps, it’s v easy. ??thoughts on the meme of the day??: The interwebs is exploding with people urging other people to turn on post notifications… ? take it from me, unless you are dying for up-to-the-nanosecond posts about my nailpolish whims, you don’t need to turn it on tomorrow. #trustmeonthisonepeople. Speaking | United Nations IWD 2016 & Planet 50-50

This past weekend I was joined by mum and my sister for an event with the United Nations Association of Canada where I spoke on a panel for IWD 2016. Although International Women’s Day was on March 8th, we celebrated the economic, political, cultural, and social achievements of women in an afternoon at the Fairmont Royal York. Visiting the Royal York was always so iconic growing up and to be speaking there as a grown up felt pretty neat. Having my family there made it even more special. The first question I answered from the stage was about inspiration and I proudly shared things mum taught me and a quote from her. This Is My Life | I have found that if you love life, life will love you back.

I’ve kinda neglected my blog the last week… Posts have been few and far between but I’ve still been active on all the socials. Over the last 10 days I won a Canadian Screen Award as an innovator in social & digital media (Voice Pioneer), I spoke at a conference in Edmonton where my name trended in Canada (ahhh!), spoke at the United Nations of Canada International Women’s Day event, and was a director on a TV commercial. So, safe to say lots has been happening! I’m happy and healthy and wanted to let you know, in case you’ve not peeped my daily Snapchat stories (follow here ?), read tweets, or seen posts on Instagram. I’m hustling hard to make 2016 the best year ever! So far, it’s been amazing. These flowers were on set yesterday and now they’re brightening my home office and filling it with a springy scent. I’ve FINALLY organized the spare room to have an office that’s tidy, with a great work station, and bright light. I’ve been spending more time at the 1188 offices since January but I’m planning to spend more time working from home and the cottage for the next few months. Title of this post is a quote by Arthur Rubenstein and it really resonated with me today because although i’ve slightly neglected my blog the last two weeks, I’ve been showing my life extreme love and appreciation. Each day I’ve put my head and heart into my work and feel like the universe is rewarding me with gratitude and more of what I truly want. On the day of Canadian Academy of Film & Television’s #AcademySocial Awards I had a complimentary psychic reading with Angel Morgan at the Spoke Club. I’ve not really been into that type of things but with…

Oscars, Awkwards, My Fav Dresses, & Behind the Scenes

Watch the awards last night? They seemed to go on forever! I’m glad, along with the entire internet that Leo finally won. There were some totally WTF moments, Stacey Dash, those three Asian kids? I know people are upset about the lack of black nominees but I wasn’t expecting the ENTIRE show and all the commentary to be about it. I don’t find Chris Rock to be that funny. Everything that came out of his mouth was about race, everything! Jokes about Will & Jada were mean, the ‘black bloke from Star Wars — Darth Vader’, using those kids as a  joke was rude. The show used to be so much fun and last night, everything was SO political. Then, you have these crusty people who didn’t even clap for a winner. [vine id=”igWT9HBUnXp”] In other news, my friend Joey Salmingo was on the red carpet for E!. It was so neat to follow along his behind the scenes, oh y’know, hanging out with Ryan Seacrest and all. Just chillin’ at the Roosevelt Hotel with my new bestie, @RyanSeacrest.. Happy New Year! * Sweet Sixteen*

Well ladies & gents, 2016 is here and I am so glad.  16 is a favourite number of mine and to be honest 2015 was a hard year. Felt I was getting off track a bit and my health wasn’t 100%, so,  I’m facing 2016 with a clear head and excitement. The tattoo I have on my left arm is 16 dots, evenly spaced, in two shades of green like a beaded bracelet. It’s a perfect square, and 16 2x 8, my fav number of them all.  This is the sweet sixteen!  [symple_divider style=”solid” margin_top=”5″ margin_bottom=”5″] Today was a good day, went out for a drive around 9:30am, the streets were bare and the air was calm. After, I made a nice breakfast and spent some time cleaning up the house. I had this plan where I wanted to go out and take a great photo with my GoPro and a confetti cannon. After driving around with BF and child, we wound up getting lunch and coming home. I went out to an alley near our place by myself, set up my camera, and popped the cannon. Much to my disappointment, it wasn’t recording video and the confetti made a beautiful display, then flew away in the wind. That moment will forever be in my memory and NOT on Instagram. Whoops! It’s ok, everything doesn’t always go as planned! I took a deep breath, laughed it off to myself and went back home where it was warm. This is my first selfie of 2016. I mean it’s my ACTUAL first selfie in the 20 I took to get a nice one (which we all know is what happens). I added some lighting to brighten it up a bit, but the first one is always the best. I continuously take a pile to get the perfect one and then, voila, the first one…

This Is My Life | Cyberbullying

Putting yourself out there on the internet or *IRL takes a lot of courage. Having a blog opens you up for all kinds of criticism, haterade, or anonymous comments. My world, the one I’ve created online, is pretty positive, but I’ve had my share of cyberbullying. It’s important to fight back against trolls, for example you could use an instagram story viewer app to save any abusive posts so that you can use them as evidence against them. It’s also important to learn how you can avoid being exposed to this kind of harassment and Telus has an award winning Canadian program about how to protect you and your family online. They offer online info and offline info like in-person training sessions for business customers and their fams. Thanks for this @TELUS! #TelusWise pic.twitter.com/uIpjxQArfZ — CASiE STEWART (@casiestewart) August 20, 2015 Telus is one of my longest standing relationships and this program is one of the reasons I love them. Not to mention the owl for this campaign. I like owls. I’ve had more than one stalker over the years and had to contact the police several times about something internet related. I don’t share this stuff often because it’s hard to talk about. There’s also SO MUCH sad/bad news out there I want this to be a happy place for you when you’re having a bad day or want a cheer up. The things about bullying is it can stay with you forever. It’s hard to forget the way they made you feel. A couple of years ago a ‘friend’ had been commenting mean things under an alias for months. It was really hurtful, the things she said were spiteful, stuff only someone who knew me would say to be mean. I did some investigating and finally tracked the…

Spooktacular! Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland

I really love halloween. I mean, I love it so much I take every opportunity to celebrate it during the month of October I can. I visited Canada’s Wonderland for Halloween Haunt on October 2nd and it was so much fun. See my post on the Canada’s Wonderland blog here or scroll away. My sister and I have been dressing up for halloween together our whole lives so when I was invited to #CWhaunt there was no one else I’d rather go with. We  headed to the park just in time for nightfall. You’re not realllllly supposed to go in costume but we put on zombie faces so enhance the night. We started in the VIP Pre-Haunt lounge making our plan for the night.  We had Fright Lane passes which outlined all the haunted houses and allowed us to skip the line. The Skeleton Key is for getting into secret rooms at the haunted houses for extra scares. The eerie sounds of scary music had us a bit spooked so we decided to ride the coasters to get our jitters out. First up, Levithan. Having a Fast Pass made our night spoooooktacular as we were able to zip past lines and jump on the rides right away.  We sat down beside two young men who looked a *little* creeped by our makeup choices. After we screamed our heads off flying through the night sky, one of the guys said “your makeup is a bit messed up”. My sister turned to him ‘that’s because I’m dead!” We laughed loud and hilariously like The Joker and headed to the next ride. I was really impressed with the performances we caught on the stage. The scary looking man below was whirling around this box with flames inside. It was amazing. next up,  4 skeletons did am impressive trampoline act jumping to and from…

Events | Thomas Sabo Opening at Eaton Centre #SABOinthe6

Last week I celebrated the opening of Thomas Sabo’s latest Toronto store in the Eaton Centre. Our special guest was none other than Jennifer Grace who you *might* know more as Native Fox. Top LA blogger & model.  We hung out at the store for the evening and chatted. She’s super nice! We had a few laughs and traded blog tales. People were lined up before the event started to be the first to enter and receive a special Love Bridge bracelet w/ engraving. My Love Bridge is engraved with my name but I feel like I need another one with something more creative or inspiring. Not that I don’t love my name but you know that I mean!  A few other bloggers & Thomas Sabo ambassadors were in the house, Justine (Jet Set Justine) and Alexander (Kenton Magazine). The new store is now open for business and near the new foodcourt on the second level. If you don’t feel like venturing to the Eaton Centre you can always visit thomassabo.com to order online. I’ve been humming and hhhaaaaaaing over a few of their rings to treat myself. There are so many nice ones, I can’t decide. Check out some of my previous events and adventures with Thomas Sabo over the past few years here.

Fashion | Converse Holiday Preview 2015

Last week I went to the media preview for Converse 2015 Holiday. I’ve been wearing these kicks my entire life. Mum reminded me the other day that I had them as a wee little kiddo. I’ve gone through heaps of pairs over the years and love how they change slightly, yet remain the same. This year Converse released the Converse Chuck Taylor Chuck II. The new Chuck II is nearly identical to its predecessor, with advances in construction and technology, including Nike’s Lunarlon cushioning. They’re more comfortable! This neon colour is limited edition FYI. A photo posted by StephenThomasM (@stephenthomasm) on Sep 29, 2015 at 6:27pm PDT “[The Chuck II] continues to reflect the spirit of the Chuck Taylor and what it’s meant all these years. It still has all of the most recognizable exterior attributes of the Chuck — that’s important to the consumer. We’re just addressing the new needs of the consumer while staying true to this iconic sneaker,” said David Allen, GM and VP of Converse North America. There’s two new styles from the Holiday 2015 Collection I’m majorly crushing on. First, these rubber Chuck Taylor high tops. I can see myself wearing these all winter, summer, spring, and fall. They’re waterproof and have a sleek zipper down the back. Get on my feet you guys!  ???? Second is not released in Canada yet but they will be soon.  I’m not supposed to say anything about the collab just yet but I found this tweet on Twitter and won’t go into detail and just leave it here… You can see why I love them!
