Looking at my own house from the tarmac at Porter. It took me <15min to walk there, in heels. Who WALKS to the airport? You bet your ass I felt damn cool strollin’ rollin’ in that door. Right before I boarded the plane something awesome happened, I got my first ever FULL PATDOWN in PUBLIC! It was done by a hot babe and we were giggling. I told her I was gonna blog about it. I had the hugest smile on my face the whole time. They really pat you down all over if ya know what I mean 😉 Toronto Island is quite pretty, will look even nicer once the trees get all greened up. I really notice a differnece between my old camera (Cannon Elph) and the new camera (Olympus XZ-1) when taking shots from the air. New is MUCH clearer. Started reading the poetry book sent to me by Vanessa Grillone, My Pen My Voice. I’m thinking I really should re-issue my poetry book. I wrote some pretty aweosme stuff when I was young. Thanks for the book Vanessa. Everytime I travel I still can’t believe they let me use this passport photo. Red lipstick & a big bow, in my hair. Who the hell am I? haha. I’m Casie Stewart, that’s who. One of the great(est) things about flying Porter are the snacks & free drinks. Rememeber Foursquare Day last year? Yes you do. It was 4/16, I worked at MuchMTV. I printed a big 4sq badge on a tshirt and scooted over to the Loose Moose for the party. I’d been there a few times so when I checked in, I TOOK THE MAYORSHIP. Everyone cheered as I walked to the table then Molson gave me a bucket of beers. It was an epic winning of mayorship & nerd pride. * that gun necklace got me hardcore hassled by border patrol at YYZ last summer! This year’s #4SQDAY meetup in Toronto is at The Firkin @ 461 King Street. For all the info on the Toronto meetup check the FB page. I chatted Karly (@_topshelf), one of the organizers yesterday and there are HEAPS of sponsors, free beer for an hour and BUTTONS like this. Let me introduce you to my new friend, Bicyclette Boutique on Queen Street. I met the darling owner Paige on Twitter and after browsing the site, I knew we would get along. The shop is filled with pretty things, vintage, white space, foreign style, mirrors and heaps of shiny things. Paige opened the shop in March, although she’s had two pop-up shops and an online presence for a while. It’s totally my kind of shop. Look at all these things. I wish I had my closet organized like a store. Paige calls it “urban meets fairytale“. See, so me. *sprinkles glitter* I was trying on outfits for the Fashion Connect panel: 265 people have tickets. Cripes. The night is about fashion & technology so, the other day I called out on Twitter to see if someone wanted to outfit me for the night. That’s how Paige & I met. Her twitter is @shopbicyclette. I love meeting people who love what they do. We had a great chat today. Hi Paige! She was at the Blog Stars talk I did last year with Raymi, Sean & Carly. i totally had a dude where’s my car moment

No seriously. I’m not used to driving a car downtown. I love to walk and text and take photos and look at stuff. Yes, driving is fun but YES driving downtown in the middle of the day can make you a crazy person. A CRAZY PERSON. I feel like a tourist driving. Yesterday Toyota Canada gave me a Matrix to drive for the week. I’m not sure why I think this, but I have a feeling that they got it to me by using a car moving company similar to CarsRelo as it was the easiest way to do it. However they delivered it to me though, I was so excited to try it out. It’s a fun car. The ability to just get up and go is awesome. For example, today I had brunch at my Sister’s house:) Back to the story… Today my car was towed. I got it yesterday. “There’s a first for everything! #casiefail (@ JP Towing) http://4sq.com/i1vsxd“ Stop laughing. I thought I was fine where I parked but I was wrong. I left the office and was chatting away on the phone as I walked back to the car on King Street just after 5:15pm. I parked at 2:45. You can’t park there 4-6pm. My friend on the phone witnessed a mini panic. Where’s my car? OMG. All the cars were gone. It took me less than 15min to find it at JP nyc towing company and in about an hour I had it back. Thank you Shelly for driving me. The towing people were really nice and despite that it cost $180, it was kinda fun. I originally thought they’d put the cars on tandem trailers to transport them to the towing company but I later realised it wouldn’t have fit on one! I’m…

Ran into a friend at my fav shop yesterday. The new Queen/Spadina Maccas is really nice looking. I’d like to do something in the upstairs space, I wonder if they let kids like me have birthday parties there? They have super hero toys right now too. I was temped to ask what other ones they have and buy them cause we used to do that when I was a kid. I didn’t. We have HEAPS of toys in the basement at Mum’s house. An amount so masssive it borders hoarders. NO lie. There’s heaps of bright colourful grafitti in this city. I really hope Mr. Ford doesn’t continue with his plan to cover it all up. The thing that really is blowing my mind is… #japan

I closed my blinds last night and got to thinking about Japan. In bed with iPad & Android, I looked outside, the lake was calm. I said goodnight to Twitter. I don’t usually do that, I often leave like an irish goodbye. I said goodbye because I love my friends and in the back of my head I know that so many people in Japan woke up Friday morning and never got a chance to say goodbye. They woke up to their houses and lives right fucked up. I can only imagine that happening. There is no word to explain how is makes me feel when I watch those videos over and over. It’s like a movie but it’s not a movie, its real. The world trade centre, that was real. We all remember that day. I remember lots of other stuff in my life but that WTC stands out as something totally monumental, like Japan. I will never get any of these images out of my head. The water rushing over the city, the planes crashing into the buildings. Yes, one distaster was man made and one natural but to me, they are the biggest I’ve ever seen. The thing that really is blowing my mind is the severity, scale and consequences of it all. How the hell do you fix a first world nation that’s been shaken, stirred and radiated? Japan was pretty much run through the dishwasher. There’s going to be a massive ripple affect on society from this. Japan is home to vehicles and electronics that WE love. It is the third largest national economy in the world after US and China in GDP & purchasing power parity (aka PPP if you forgot). I read on Bloomberg.com that Cannon, Sony, Panasonic, Toyota, Honda, Sapporo have all suspended production. I…

thursday feels like friday, i’m ready for the weekend

I wear this on my head all the time. Not for any religious reason or anything, makes me feel safe/good with head/ears covered. I googled ‘covered head sacred brain’ and the first link was something to do with Kabbalah. I just got a new red string. I remmeber this guy I knew, Andre and he always wore a hat, he was a spiritual healer and said he could feel energy going out his head when it was exposed. I dunno if that is true but I kinda like it. This my sh*t: laptop, ipad, cute face, android, glasses. Thanks internet.I lugged my mini-mobile office to 1188 and the hair salon the other day. Not too heavy and I like having all my gadgets. Mac & PC, I go bothways now. Does anyone know if I can return these babies to the Doc store on Queen where I got them? Went to my first Bridal Shower this weekend. This is the time of my life where this kinda thing becomes common right? Weddings, babies etc. Not for me anytime soon. I’ll marry my blog or myself like Sue Sylvester before anyone else I reckon. The bride, Cheryl. We were to college together and also university in Australia. We were total besties and had the most awesome time. Still one of the greatest years of my life. Canada (groom) Germany (bride) – match made in heaven. I had punch, responsible driver. Excited to get the car back again. GM is coming out with a pink car, this makes me happy. I am SO going to drive a barbie mobile. Just you wait, summer barbie at the beach. These were yum. Sent this pic to Crystal Gibson, my cupcake darling. I got her this super cute apron, every wife needs one right? Matched it a diamond ice cube tray. I got them at Outer Layer on Queen Street. Great place to et neat gifts for people. My go-to gift shop. Cher as a kiddo, so darn cute. Can’t wait to see her walk down the aisle. She got these great mugs with a C & J on them. Casie & jenie? No, Cheryl & Jared 🙂 Was so great seeing the girls from college. My how we have all grown up! Saw this via O’Nizzle the other day. Love it. Hope you had a great day! The Blondetourage! Blonde blogging babes Keri & Lauren. The Art of Marketing yesterday was really great. I enjoyed the speakers. Each one made their presentation very personal to the room and to Canada. Gary, Jeffrey and Guy were my favourite. It was a pretty rad day. I was interviewed by The Biz Media & My City Lives for the event video. We like to blooooooooooog. (That’s how you say it right Keri Blog? ;)) Keri & I crashed the Mining Conference. Cruised riiiiight pas security. You are gonna see more of this. I live right next door. I have no idea why I am not crashing more conferences. If you know one I should attend, LMK. We lingered behind this set and were on BNN. Did you see us? It was so sunny & pretty out. Oh, how I so love sun. Then I saw this unit penix Fenix. I was hoping to Chilean Miners were there for autographs and photos. Are they still famous? Maybe their run is over and they have gone back to work now. Quite a structure though. OMG I would not like to be a miner, I’ve never been in a mine have a I Mum, Dad? What about the Sudbury one? Then is was timne for Guy Kawasaki‘s talk to close out the day of TAOM. I snagged a VIP seat up front w/ Michael. Look, GUY. He talked about how to be enchanting. I was waiting for my photo to show up in the presentation. He was really nice.
