finally found the magazine cover i was on in new zealand

This article ran last year after New Zealand Fashion Week about bloggers & how fashion’s front row is changing. I never did get a hard copy! The Tempo magazine is inside the NZ Herald that comes on weekends (I think!). One of my cousins got it delivered to her house. How awesome is that? Her Canadian cuz gracing the pages of her mail. Would love to get back to NZ this year for NZFW. Air NZ isn’t the travel partner so that puts a wee damper in getting there. I had the best time last year. See my coverage here. let the sun shine in.

We used to chill on the grass all the time when I was a kid. I love fresh cut grass. Was looking for a four leaf clover, those things are almost impossible to find. New Toms are rad & oh so cozy. Thanks Mum for the flowers. They’re all from her garden. People don’t really do that much here as compared to NZ I find. Nana could always pull together a boquet from her garden. Mum took a whole bunch to someone the day before too. I want that when I grow up, a beautiful garden. BTW Mum, the newspaper made my arm all black so when I got home I looked really skiddy. How cute is she?! Love you. Keri got to meet Mum first time. Think we might adopt her. It was so clear out across the Lake when I got home. I could see across to Rochester and it looked bright. Omg Seriously. The Biz Media Epic Meal Time last night was epicly awesome. Say hello to the Bacon Volcano. Bacon strips & cheese & bacon strips & bacon strips. Chocolate bacon cake. Big thanks to the lovely miss who brought the Tums. I’m thankful for you. Was a beautiful night for a patio party. Biz Media consistently throws the best parties. Wicked crowd there last night. Heaps of people I knew & lots I didn’t. Makes for a fun time, I love meeting new people. The man who delivers me a dozen bacon roses. ILU. These were so tasty. Heaps of props for the photobooth. The photos are gonna be so funny. Bacon in the tree too. Bacon everywhere actually. I missed this one but wow, probs was delish. Epic Meal Time guys are rad. This one is so huge, like giant. Went to the NXNE Opening Gala last night. Saw heaps of friends I’ve known from the media scene for years. That’s one of the best things about festivals, the peeps. My tan is so serious right now. Today I went to the Globe & Mail to chat a friend on the roof patio. Real nice up there. Stephen has a session at NXNE Interactive titled ‘How to Grow Your User Base!” and it just might include me. Check it out here or NXNEi Friday at noon. It was very serious. Look at this form. I work hard at everything I do. Left a note in Lina’s office & said hello to a few others in the G&M haus. Picked up my NXNE wristband. This is the media room. I had to charge my phone. Then I saw the Australian, he got asked what band he’s in. Haha. So cute. Cruised Queen Street, got a new Vice mag, picked up Chippy’s & went to Bellwoods. They actually HAD the halibut this time. Can you believe it? They are ALWAYS out. It was so hot & lovely out. Had the perfect outfit for tanning, loose shorts & tube top. Post lunch got a haircut and guess what? Teacher also goes to Darrek Kwik Studio & he was THERE. It was such a busy day. I zipped outta the salon, walked to Liberty Village and went to School. They were having a summer BBQ and I had an awesome free dinner with a bunch of friends. Thanks guys! Food was grrrrrrrrrreat. Ok bye. I’ve heading to the NXNE Opening Gala then to see Tiny Danza at Cobra w/ Z-List. Hope it’s not too much of a late one. Busy day tomorrow too. Gah.

MMVA Stage is lookin’ pretty rad. I love cruisin’ by there mid day on my own schedule. Liberating! I worked mega long hours this time last year getting ready for the MMVA show. It was fun at the time. Took the subway yesterday. I rarely ever take the subway. Most the time I walk. There’s never a shortage of interesting characters. I used to TTC often & would write stories about people & things I saw. Remmeber that book lady, Seen Reading? I think she got slammed for writing about people on the subway. I wonder where this guy was going? I like his outfit. Went with Keri to The Richmond to learn about Snoxin. I’m gonna have a face like a child in no time. Lots of pretty girls there & nice outfits. This stuff makes you look younger. Better than any $500 cream and available for $39. Last year I got Nanoblur from the same company, that stuff is awesome too. Post girl time, got beer & had a hipster hang w/ Australian in the park. Watched the sunset. This dude was totes checking him out. I love park hangs. He doubled me on his hipster bike. I was scared, it was exciting. Rushing to Spoke Club, then Globe & Mail then to pick up my NXNE Priority media pass. Hectic day. Wish I had a bike right now. Hope you have a really awesome day! Pure beer bliss.

All the beer shelves were fully stocked, store opens today in Liberty Village. I love straight lines. Everything was lined up with perfection. Pretty. Pinup. ♥ Very nice shop that appeals to urban consumers. Young urban professionals of downtown, generation Y, Yuppies 2.0. SO good to see Carly & have her back in town. Love you babe! Carly is my agent and today I have a top secret audition for something on TV. I was taking our pic in the mirror here… Then I totally spilled my beer. Doh! Food was really good and outside they had an oyster bar. Look how big that one guys is! They looked to slimey for me. I kinda like oysters but think I’m stopping liking them. Stuck at airport family with bunch of kids behind us. They are annoying. Update: Erica Ehm and the mommy bloggers went to TOWN on giving me hell for this post. girls on bikes

The Margaritaville gave us the media inside yesterday before bike rentals start today. Thanks guys! Got ’em comped too. Media VIP FTW. GIRL ON BIKE. We cruised Pensacola Beach baby. Pensacola Pier. GLITTER. Behave yourselves now. I love biking. Gonna to to Curbside Cycle this week & get the Pantone gem. Had lunch here. So lovely. I’m 58.3% awesomerrrr each day. Glitter me timbers! Guess who took her beerski shopping? Oh yeah. I do what I want! Back to home base. This has been my office view for two days and today we leave to go to another hotel for the race etc. I have so many great pix from race practice yesterday. Have an awesome day & happy Friday! <3

boyfriend the ocean played live music for me

Best sleep of my life last night. Ocean, I love you. Your melodies were the perfect lullaby. Best bed ever. Huge wooden headboard is my love. So beautiful. Went walking Pensacola Beach by myself last night. It was so lovely. I had no idea the Gulf water was so warm. About to head to the beach now post brekky. Map of where I am here. This is the pier right outside my hotel. Remember the Gulf Oil Spill last year? Covered this same beach in tar balls for about eight miles. Same Pier. Oil came ashore on the beach overnight, and the waters were closed to the public. Geologists dug trenches aong the beach and there were veins of oil buried in approximately 4-6 inches of sand. Crazy eh. “It looked like tobacco spit and smelled foreign, and it pooled in yesterday’s footprints as far as you could see. State officials called it the worst show of crude on shore from the gusher 120 miles away.” Tampa Bay News It’s all clean now but still sad to look out my window to a beautiful view knowing it was once damaged by oil.Click for more photos or oil spill info. These kids were playing in this shell making shadows. I’m going to do that tonight. It was really cute. Passed by some bars but wasn’t in the mood for drinking. Hey Creep! Got the cutest bikini to compliment my pinup girl summer style. Love it. Stopped by the park after a meeting today. Was real pretty, hot & relaxing. Stopped into Bicyclette. Noticed my tan is getting serious. WEAR SUNSCREEN. Paige I would like to read this book. Thought it was for sale! Book is all stories from author “Dear [company] about his life, him being over qualified. Basically, how cover letters are BS. Inspiring blog posts in the making here. This is what I got. It’s handmade in Bolivia. Look who it is! My babe Lynsie Roberts photography. The shop is so damn cute. Every time I go there I wanna get like 10 dresses. I want this next time. Was on hunt for a patio where you can get mani/pedi AND have a beer. There isn’t one. I went to 10 SPot which was totally lovely. They have wifi so I could work & get nails done. Total win! Me, working. The result! I will deff be back. Hope we can chat about working together. Having a go-to nail tech would be AWESOME. The lovely babe who did my nails was a total sweet. Thank you! Dinner tonight then I really have to pack for this work trip. Clean clothes mountain is resting on my bed. Meh, that can wait, too many things to be excited about including sunshine & warm weather.

I have like 8,000 things I’m trying to do an I wanna do is blog, blog, blog. Wahhhh. Here’s some things I did today real fast. Had this song stuck in my had all day. You’re welcome. Plank like ‘errrrrrrrry day. New shoes @ Get Outside. I replaced my white canvas Converse (like those words together) every summer. I love summer. Went to a beautiful Dermaglow event at the TIFF Lightbox. The team is fab. Thank you for all the products. I can’t wait to wash my face & moist it in a few mins. I’m excited for Film Fest this year. If you & your company wanna chat about doing something cool together email [email protected]. 10 days of pure awesome fun. Sometimes when Keri & I hang out it’s like, so meta. So funny too. Keri taking photo to blog and me taking her photo & blogging it. Oooh hehe haha. I kill me. Ate a meat pie. I love meat pies. Wasn’t as good as NZ meat pie though. Say meat pie again. Mince meat w/ potato top are my most fav. I also like patio lunches. Got some jazz in the mail from China I ordered from Etsy. I freaking love Etsy now. I have a bad memory (reason I started this blog) so I forget things often. I didn’t know what was in the package before I opened it. Self gifting FTW. Keri got mail too. Look how happy. Tonight I have three events, Steamwhistle, Yelp, Molson Sublime. Excited to see friends. I love summer. Gah! LIFE’S A BEACH & THIS IS MY LIFE! BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
