Looking at my own house from the tarmac at Porter. It took me <15min to walk there, in heels. Who WALKS to the airport? You bet your ass I felt damn cool strollin’ rollin’ in that door. Right before I boarded the plane something awesome happened, I got my first ever FULL PATDOWN in PUBLIC! It was done by a hot babe and we were giggling. I told her I was gonna blog about it. I had the hugest smile on my face the whole time. They really pat you down all over if ya know what I mean 😉 Toronto Island is quite pretty, will look even nicer once the trees get all greened up. I really notice a differnece between my old camera (Cannon Elph) and the new camera (Olympus XZ-1) when taking shots from the air. New is MUCH clearer. Started reading the poetry book sent to me by Vanessa Grillone, My Pen My Voice. I’m thinking I really should re-issue my poetry book. I wrote some pretty aweosme stuff when I was young. Thanks for the book Vanessa. Everytime I travel I still can’t believe they let me use this passport photo. Red lipstick & a big bow, in my hair. Who the hell am I? haha. Rememeber Foursquare Day last year? Yes you do. It was 4/16, I worked at MuchMTV. I printed a big 4sq badge on a tshirt and scooted over to the Loose Moose for the party. I’d been there a few times so when I checked in, I TOOK THE MAYORSHIP. Everyone cheered as I walked to the table then Molson gave me a bucket of beers. It was an epic winning of mayorship & nerd pride. * that gun necklace got me hardcore hassled by border patrol at YYZ last summer! This year’s #4SQDAY meetup in Toronto is at The Firkin @ 461 King Street. For all the info on the Toronto meetup check the FB page. I chatted Karly (@_topshelf), one of the organizers yesterday and there are HEAPS of sponsors, free beer for an hour and BUTTONS like this. Ran into a friend at my fav shop yesterday. The new Queen/Spadina Maccas is really nice looking. I’d like to do something in the upstairs space, I wonder if they let kids like me have birthday parties there? They have super hero toys right now too. I was temped to ask what other ones they have and buy them cause we used to do that when I was a kid. I didn’t. We have HEAPS of toys in the basement at Mum’s house. An amount so masssive it borders hoarders. NO lie. There’s heaps of bright colourful grafitti in this city. I really hope Mr. Ford doesn’t continue with his plan to cover it all up. That would be not cool. I think it looks so nice, the street art. Have you walked down all the alleys Queen West? Great for photos on warm summer days. I’m stoked for summer to get here. Need to get my bike fixed up, she needs a full makeover at a body shop. The top right window has flowers in it. Bright & pretty. This week is gonna be really busy. Full calendar, lots of work. This photo means something really special to me. It reminds me how much I, we have grown and changed over the past couple years. Erin, Satish & I (below) were on an aweosme team that came together in Jan. 2009 to create the first big Twitter event Toronto ever had. Twitter was slowly catching on at the time and the event was part of a global thing called Twestival. Last night, Twestival 2011 took place and it was awesome. It was a totally new team of people who took the initiative to create the event and I was proud and happy to be there. Twestival OG organizer group hug, my happy moment of the night. The first Twestival was at CiRCA and we donated to charity:water. Remember that place? My sis was there, she was a Raptors girl back then. She’s the blonde if you don’t already know/can’t tell. Once we had Twestival on a boat cruise. Renee you were missed last night, I had a shot for you. I need to get to SF to you v.soon. Another time we had Twestival at Tryst in the club district. i’d like to thank you for watching my show
Just kidding, I don’t have a show yet! Yesterday I woke up and rode the subway just after rush hour, it was still packed. I was heading to BNotions Internet & Strategy to be filmed for an upcoming panel I’m on. They told me originally 3-5 hours and I was like ‘WHAT DO WE NEED THAT LONG FOR?’. I’m pretty speedy & no fuss to work with, especially when shooting. We were done in about an hour which included Broll too. WIN! Panel is called Fashion Connect TO, it’s at the Gladstone April 7th and it’s free. There are 89 people already attending. Get a ticket here! Last night I stopped by Abode w/ Keri & saw these lovely peeps. Awwww. Tonight during the six o’clock news there’s a special on being cool on the internet and prolific amazing tweets, I’m part of it. Not sure if it is national, it might be. Thre’s a spot running today on Global enticing you to watch. Ahhhh. I’m often nervous before things like this because despite how genuine kind/nice/grateful you are you sometimes come off different after editing. It was everyday shoppers who were treated to 20 beautiful models walking the aisles of a supermarket as if they were the cat walks of Milan. The show was put together with Red Bull who have been lovers of their unconventional style since 2005. Marc Moore, design director of SGC, wanted to present ‘Untitled’ in a location that took fashion out of its usual context. “We thought about presenting our new collection in a total random and public place, we wanted it to be like a ‘fashion flash-mob’. It’s always a challenge to keep people on their toes in anticipation but I think that today’s show really did surprise”. Sisters. Cousins from NZ. Blurry vision. It was super sunny. Good thing I wore a bikini under. Then is was cloundy but there was no rain. Horse walked in to a park. Twitter-twatter. The whole day was super fun. We’ve been hitting up the festival for the past five years and this year was by far the most busy. There were heaps of people, food trucks and clouds of smoke. Cleaning my room today and so I can laze on Sunday afternoon. Had to take a break already. WHY IS PUTTING AWAY ALL MY CLOTHES SO HARD? This is some of my tshirt collection. How cool is this guy? One of Mum’s old hot rod shirts, also as close as I get to camping. I’m watching My Life As Liz on MTV. It’s pretty funny, I like her. Before the show came out someone at work said that I’d probably like this show. Just noticed, the first thing she says at the start is “This is my life“. No wonder I like this show. She also says “MTV made me do this”, cute. BTW have you seen the FORA ads on MTV? Love this one too, 1977 & from New Zealand. This shirt is older than me and still in great condition. (super soft too). Now that, is quality. Anyone downtown recognize this? Sun was shining really pretty on the island when I came home from work last night. It was cloudy with little sunny spots, you can’t really see through my camera but I saw it with my own eyes. Trust me. There’s so many distractions around my house. I feel like painting in the sunshine and staring out the window. Gotta remind my damn self to get off the computer and go do something. Not sure what I’m doing tonight. Love that it’s thunder-stormy today. I hope it rains all day to be honest. Woke up with a nasty kink in my neck and i’ve been having trouble turning left all day. Anyhow, I got you some flowers because it’s kinda gloomy and I want you to feel happy too. My nail polish is chipped but its matchy. These guys are special. Aren’t they beautiful, don’t you love them? One of the reason I love the rain so much is my collection of Wellies & Moovboots paired with bright rain jackets. It really does make a difference. Feeling the spring fever. It’s lovely walking to work in the brightness. Great way to start the day. Ramping up stuff for the magazine at work. Toronto Blog Girl stuff is picking up speed. My Harajuku Girls are coming by Friday learn about blogging. What they don’t know yet is that I’m putting them to WORK. Fairy Blog Mother. Today I am wearing a dress from Shop My Clothes that’s by a Japanese designer. I love the print heaps, very springy. It was really long so I chopped it and used the excess fabric to make a circle scarf. Black Betsy Johnson tights from Winners. Gold boots were black leather from Vintage 69. I spray painted them gold. Andy Warhol used to do that. Trench, cardigan, & heart locket are from H&M. Bag was a gift Calvin Klein. THANKS! I’m a judge in this FAB contest from Peach Beserk. spring fever baby, take me for a ride
Even if it doesn’t last, even if it snows again, I don’t care, this makes me so happy. I need to get my bike tuned up, tires pumped, rust removed. She wants me to rider her. I walk past her everyday, we glance at each other. We want to be together. We will be together. She’s beautiful. This one was taken in an alley off Queen Street in March about two years ago. I used to have red wellies but they ‘somehow’ went missing. It was really weird, I went away from the weekend and came back and they were gone. My heart still hopes they turn up one day, until then I’m happy to have red Moovboots. I really hope Spring is on it’s way and winter has sprung. I’m ready for sunshine, bare legs and open toes. Really enjoying this weekend time at home. Next weekend I’m at a photo shoot for work. It will undoubtedly be exciting, yet tiring. I’ve always loved dressing up.I was five when I did my first recital for our ballet studio. I competed for a bunch of years when I was growing up. Lipstick, eye shadow, lots of hair gel, tight buns in your hair, fancy costumes and sequins. Such excitement. Next weekend, I’m behind the scenes. I kinda always wanted it to be that way. As much as I love having my photo taken, I really enjoy the production side of things too.

that was a night and a half, lets do it again!
Whoa. I had the kind of night filled with excitement that less fortunate souls dream of. Kinda feel like I’m still there… I was gonna tidy/pack while watching television at home alone…UNTIL…. I got a message from the famous Shawn Hawaii inquiring about the Sprout Up. Was I attending? I was now. Threw on an outfit. (Mum knit the vest in the 1970’s). Jumped on the trolley and headed to meet Hawaii. First stop, Sprouter SproutUp in Yorkville. If you like being surrounded by smart entrepreneurs and cool people, go next time. You’ll thank me. It’s Oct 14th, second Wednesday. Don’t worry, I’ll remind you. Second stop was the Globe’s Beatles party at the Berkley Church. The party was fun and we got a killer giftbag with the new Beatles Blueray disk. I also got flowers. Yeah, awesome! We cruised to the Annex for a bite and beer and then took it up a notch in the Distillery district. Belmont cigarettes was throwing an entertainment industry party. Knew about a zillion people and I still have drink tickets in my purse if you want them. Ran into stylish Ms. Sass from Zucket.com among many other notables including PJ Phil! Belmont has some sexy new skinny cigarettes and I snagged a bunch of packs. At home I put on my Super Woman costume and danced around. Oh, who , will I be at Twestival on Saturday?? they weren’t just a pair of boots to me. they became part of my life, i loved them. i would wear them all the time and when they were gone things just never seemed the same. i though about them and everytime the weather said rain i missed them a little more. i don’t know where they went but i got a replacement to fill the empty space on my feet when it rains. the forecast is calling rain for a week i say let the rain shine. white wellies.

outside seems so much more appealing
I dressed like winter today. I have no idea why. I woke up and was whining ‘it’s cold‘ meanwhile staring at the Weather Network on Blackberry seeing 21 degrees and partly cloudy. I’m a dress/skirt girl. I wore pants and a hat and a big frumpy wooly sweater. I prove to myself all my thoughts I’ve had for two days of ‘I’m not feeling great’. It’s Friday afternoon and the office is quiet and I know there are beers being had on patios around me. School next door has free drinks after work and all of a sudden I feel better. The phone rings and it’s Mum who’s calling from the boat up North and has the day off. It’s lovely to hear her and chat but I’m in the office and have been working really hard can’t leave yet and have more work to do and don’t really have the time to chitty-chat and get sidetracked. We always talk about blog for a minute or two. She misses it today because there’s no internet yet on the boat for blog reading. I told her I laid in the grass at lunch and had a smoke and it was nice and sunny on my face. I get to the point where I have to say “MUM, I’ve got to go‘ in a stern voice and I feel like a character in a chicklit book trapped at the office. I like it. The book is being written as I live it out each day. It’s my favorite story. I like this picture. I like how little my feet are. These babies are a kids size 3 in the US and 2.5 in the UK.
