Happy Birthday! The Drake Hotel Turns 10!

Last Thursday The Drake Hotel celebrated it’s 10th birthday. I started the night on the roof sipping cocktails and catching up with some of the girls I used to work with at Community. BTW the lobster poutine and popcorn shrimp are both SO GOOD. Before heading home I joined in the birthday celebration fun that filled the building. Here’s a sneak peek into the festivities! It’s always a place you can go for a good time to start your night or finish it off. I’ve certainly closed down the place a few times. It’s a spot I always run into a familiar face or make new friends. Happy Birthday Drake Hotel, you’ll always have a special place in my heart. <3 CASIE

Grey Goose ‘Taste By Appointment’ at Soho House

Last week I was invited to the Soho House as a guest of Grey Goose for an exclusive dinner for 10. It was an occasion called ‘Taste by Appointment’ where we learned all about taste, flavours, and of course, drank Grey Goose. I ran into my old friend Mr. Brainwash AGAIN too. (When I say old friend it’s because I met him there the week before!) I’ve been a fan of GG for ages and last year at Community Agency got to work w/ Grey Goose where I learned all about their latest FLY BEYOND campaign. Hello & happy Thursday to you! Keri always says Thursday is the best night of the week and for me this week, it’s the first night I don’t have anything planned. I’m going to go home, accept first Grocery Gateway delivery, make dinner, do some laundry, clean some of the house, and watch a movie on the Netflix with my love. (If you have a reco LMK!) There’s such comfort in being domestic when you are always on the go! Last night COMMUNITY had an event with Bacardi and the Blue Jays, huge thanks to friends who joined us to open Bacardi at the Park on level 200, section 233. We had @BacardiCanada trending in Toronto, which, for (me) the Social Media Director is the best. The PR team and I were all like… Also, I love Mean Girls and I WISH THIS WAS REAL. In other news.. The film I am “It’s All About ME“, premieres NEXT MONTH on the BIG SCREEN and tickets are now on sale. Give a ring to the box office at 416-362-5570 or reach them online at commffest.com. NOISEY + VICE present: Before Monday Comes – Berlin

Exciting news! Meet my first post in a partnership with one of my fav companies in the world, VICE! I’ve been reading the mag for about 10 years after finding it outside a cool little boutique in Bondi Beach, Australia. I’ve blogged heaps about VICE since then and attended a ton of VICE parties in back alleys, abandoned spaces, and hipster hangouts. VICE’s music channel Noisey, is launching a new series called Before Monday Comes. The 8 episode series is the ultimate weekend adventure of eating, drinking, dancing, music, and partying across five cities in five countries. It looks like a whole lotta fun, and partying, and fun. Check out this episode from Berlin and get a glimpse into some of the worlds most exciting underground music scenes via Dismantle and Boxfresh. The series is them travelling around and checking out party scenes in New York, Beijing, Berlin, Stockholm and London as part of a partnership with Boxfresh. I love it. The Tragically Hip to Play at Bridle Bash V on August 3

One of the BEST parties I’ve EVER been to is the Bridle Bash. It’s held at a friends private residence on the Bridle Path and brings together and awesome group of people, partiers, and musical guests. This year, THE TRAGICALLY HIP are playing in the ravine backyard for about 800 guests. It’s going to be so freaking awesome! Last time my sister and I went to BB, we ended up on the society page of the Globe & Mail, in the photo above. We put a canoe in the pool and proceeded to give out vodka filled flasks to people all around. It was fantastic. Tickets for BBV can be purchased here and start at $500 each. All the money goes to the Bridle Bash Foundation which supports an array of charities and events in the city of Toronto. For more info on the bash visit the event website here. Globe & Mail: Casie & Lauren at Soho House w/ Grey Goose

Just came across this photo of Lauren and I in the Globe & Mail from Grey Goose’s Cherry Noir event at the Soho House the other day. Yesterday at the Queen’s Plate I was hanging out with some of the reps from Grey Goose and Sean and I got to deliver the Grey Goose horse blanket to the winner of Race 7. Lozzie and I rolled up to the SoHo House all Blonde Girl Bike Gang style on our bikes. Too bad our summer has been so mehhh, we’ve not been able to bike together much. Trevor is a Brand Ambassador for Grey Goose who travels around mixing cocktails and talking about the brand. he was there yesterday at the race doing a TV spot, if you caught it or see it on TV today, you’ll see my in the background! I’ve had my share of afternoons in the park drinking a few tall cans with friends, it’s really fun! All I have to say is, if you’re drinking the park, don’t make a mess or be too obvious. Last night a bunch of us went out on the town. It was heaps of fun! First stop was the Praxis event at Hart House on the U of T Campus. Second was the annual party at Entrinsic. Video: Grey Goose Cherry Noir at Thompson Toronto

Last month the team at Community put on an awesome launch event for Grey Goose Cherry Noir. Despite the wretched weather that night, the event was a success. We trended to the #1 spot in Canada gaining a few million impressions for our client. It was my first big event with Community as the Director of Social Media and I was pretty happy with the results. Watch the Grey Goose Cherry Noir Launch Video One of my FAV parts of the launch was Instaprint, the Instagram printer we flew in from New York. People could tag their instagrams with #cherrynoir and have them print out at the event. It was so rad. i came home with a stack of about 20. There are smaller launch events happening in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa over the next few weeks. The other day a bunch of us went out to Sensation, the launch for a massive house music thing this summer sponsored by Bud Light. It was at Andrew Richard Designs, one of my fav venues. I have seen it magically transformed so many different ways over the last few years. Thanks Becca and She Does the City for these pix. This mermaid outfit was so awesome. I want to be a mermaid too. Big Brother where are thou? In Canada eh!

Last night I went to Slice TV/Shaw Media HQ for the premiere of Big Brother Canada. It’s the first time we’ve had our own season in Canada and people are going crazy over it. I watched one season religiously when I lived in Australia in 2004. I joined a bunch of media and seasoned BB Celebrity Dan Gheesling. No i did not eat this slop! Gross. A cup of berries did me just fine. There’s a great bar on the 16th floor lounge at Shaw media. I hope to go to more parties there. There was a Head of House (HOH) competition and it was hilarious how sad the competition was. Aaaaaand hat’s all I’m gonna say about that! I really hope this guy Peter wins. He’s already a YouTube star. I vote for the NERD! It’s pretty crazy/fascinating that you can watch the housemates 24/7 online. I remember reading 1984 in high school and being really interested. Doesn’t surprise me at all that I’m on the Internet writing about my life over a decade later. In other news, tonight is the Nella Bella Spring SS launch, then a party at ARD with Bud Light Platinum, and a Grey Goose Cherry Noir event at Bloke & 4th. Is it the weekend yet?!
