Happy Birthday! The Drake Hotel Turns 10!

Last Thursday The Drake Hotel celebrated it’s 10th birthday. I started the night on the roof sipping cocktails and catching up with some of the girls I used to work with at Community. BTW the lobster poutine and popcorn shrimp are both SO GOOD. Before heading home I joined in the birthday celebration fun that filled the building. Here’s a sneak peek into the festivities! Grey Goose ‘Taste By Appointment’ at Soho House

Last week I was invited to the Soho House as a guest of Grey Goose for an exclusive dinner for 10. It was an occasion called ‘Taste by Appointment’ where we learned all about taste, flavours, and of course, drank Grey Goose. I ran into my old friend Mr. Brainwash AGAIN too. (When I say old friend it’s because I met him there the week before!) I’ve been a fan of GG for ages and last year at Community Agency got to work w/ Grey Goose where I learned all about their latest FLY BEYOND campaign. Hello & happy Thursday to you! Keri always says Thursday is the best night of the week and for me this week, it’s the first night I don’t have anything planned. I’m going to go home, accept first Grocery Gateway delivery, make dinner, do some laundry, clean some of the house, and watch a movie on the Netflix with my love. (If you have a reco LMK!) There’s such comfort in being domestic when you are always on the go! Last night COMMUNITY had an event with Bacardi and the Blue Jays, huge thanks to friends who joined us to open Bacardi at the Park on level 200, section 233. We had @BacardiCanada trending in Toronto, which, for (me) the Social Media Director is the best. The PR team and I were all like… Also, I love Mean Girls and I WISH THIS WAS REAL. In other news.. NOISEY + VICE present: Before Monday Comes – Berlin

Exciting news! Meet my first post in a partnership with one of my fav companies in the world, VICE! I’ve been reading the mag for about 10 years after finding it outside a cool little boutique in Bondi Beach, Australia. I’ve blogged heaps about VICE since then and attended a ton of VICE parties in back alleys, abandoned spaces, and hipster hangouts. VICE’s music channel Noisey, is launching a new series called Before Monday Comes. The 8 episode series is the ultimate weekend adventure of eating, drinking, dancing, music, and partying across five cities in five countries. It looks like a whole lotta fun, and partying, and fun. Check out this episode from Berlin and get a glimpse into some of the worlds most exciting underground music scenes via Dismantle and Boxfresh. The series is them travelling around and checking out party scenes in New York, Beijing, Berlin, Stockholm and London as part of a partnership with Boxfresh. I love it. The Tragically Hip to Play at Bridle Bash V on August 3

One of the BEST parties I’ve EVER been to is the Bridle Bash. It’s held at a friends private residence on the Bridle Path and brings together and awesome group of people, partiers, and musical guests. This year, THE TRAGICALLY HIP are playing in the ravine backyard for about 800 guests. It’s going to be so freaking awesome! Last time my sister and I went to BB, we ended up on the society page of the Globe & Mail, in the photo above. We put a canoe in the pool and proceeded to give out vodka filled flasks to people all around. It was fantastic. Tickets for BBV can be purchased here and start at $500 each. All the money goes to the Bridle Bash Foundation which supports an array of charities and events in the city of Toronto. For more info on the bash visit the event website here. Globe & Mail: Casie & Lauren at Soho House w/ Grey Goose

Just came across this photo of Lauren and I in the Globe & Mail from Grey Goose’s Cherry Noir event at the Soho House the other day. Yesterday at the Queen’s Plate I was hanging out with some of the reps from Grey Goose and Sean and I got to deliver the Grey Goose horse blanket to the winner of Race 7. Lozzie and I rolled up to the SoHo House all Blonde Girl Bike Gang style on our bikes. Too bad our summer has been so mehhh, we’ve not been able to bike together much. Trevor is a Brand Ambassador for Grey Goose who travels around mixing cocktails and talking about the brand. he was there yesterday at the race doing a TV spot, if you caught it or see it on TV today, you’ll see my in the background! Video: Grey Goose Cherry Noir at Thompson Toronto

Last month the team at Community put on an awesome launch event for Grey Goose Cherry Noir. Despite the wretched weather that night, the event was a success. We trended to the #1 spot in Canada gaining a few million impressions for our client. It was my first big event with Community as the Director of Social Media and I was pretty happy with the results. Watch the Grey Goose Cherry Noir Launch Video One of my FAV parts of the launch was Instaprint, the Instagram printer we flew in from New York. People could tag their instagrams with #cherrynoir and have them print out at the event. It was so rad. i came home with a stack of about 20. There are smaller launch events happening in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa over the next few weeks. Big Brother where are thou? In Canada eh!

Last night I went to Slice TV/Shaw Media HQ for the premiere of Big Brother Canada. It’s the first time we’ve had our own season in Canada and people are going crazy over it. I watched one season religiously when I lived in Australia in 2004. I joined a bunch of media and seasoned BB Celebrity Dan Gheesling. No i did not eat this slop! Gross. A cup of berries did me just fine. There’s a great bar on the 16th floor lounge at Shaw media. I hope to go to more parties there. There was a Head of House (HOH) competition and it was hilarious how sad the competition was. Aaaaaand hat’s all I’m gonna say about that! I really hope this guy Peter wins. He’s already a YouTube star. I vote for the NERD! It’s pretty crazy/fascinating that you can watch the housemates 24/7 online. I remember reading 1984 in high school and being really interested. Doesn’t surprise me at all that I’m on the Internet writing about my life over a decade later. In other news, tonight is the Nella Bella Spring SS launch, then a party at ARD with Bud Light Platinum, and a Grey Goose Cherry Noir event at Bloke & 4th. Is it the weekend yet?! Guys, I biked to work today and I think my winter biking is coming to an end because I actually almost FROZE. I’m working like crazy on a wicked event coming up SOON. P0rn Theatre Halloween Party, October 31 #PTHP

If you’re wondering what to do for Wicked Wednesday next week on Halloween, do not look any further than the darkness that lies within and old p0rn theatre in Korea town. Yes, an old P0RN Theatre. I’ve never beet to one I swear. No, seriously. Never. I may have seen my fair share of PORN 7 videos, but I’ve never actually gone to a porn theatre of my own. Although, I have to admit no amount of porn could ever compare to the services offered by doha escorts. ‘After years of cautiously observing this beautifully designed 1930’s theatre in the Annex, I finally have a reason to attend.’ – Margaret Atwood ‘This will be the first time I have ever attended a event at this location while there will be living females in attendance’ – Ron Sexsmith Hosted by young legend Brock McLaughlin, and Canadian folk rocker Morgan Cameron Ross, and Kate Snack, this is where you want to be. PRODUCT’s launch party in the meat & cheese section at Alimento Fine Food Emporium on King West. There was a burlesque show, drinks, and no shortage of T-Listers mingling in the meat aisles. Good morning, good morning! Had a great weekend with the fams and all my besties. Cooked food for the week last night. Started a new book. Cleaned the house. Had a great sleep and woke up early. Pass the Courvoisier: BBQ Chicken & Cognac Cursed Peaches

The other day we had a BBQ inspired by Courvoisier as part of a their current Courvoisier Challenge contest. I must give credit where due because I was in charge of the cognac and Barbie did all the cooking. I’m no chef! It turned out REALLY tasty so I asked her to share the recipes. I took the peach photos. If you are a budding chef, go get a bottle and cook something! The Courvoisier Collective Culinary call for Submissions ends Friday, August 24th. CASIE BBQ Chicken with Cognac Blend the following together: 3 Inches Fresh Ginger One Small Papaya Honey to taste Courvoisier by free pour Cayenne Pepper Salt Marinate the chicken: Put chicken breast strips in a container or bowl. Generously pour marinade over the chicken; let sit for several hours, the longer the better. BBQ the drunken chicken:Brush grill with oil and put chicken pieces on the grill. Turn frequently and bbq till fully cooked. Enjoy tender chicken with whatever side your heart my desire – I recommend a spicy fried rice to offset the sweetness in the chicken. Cognac Cursed Peaches Buy a variety of peaches to make it interesting. Cut peaches in half and remove pits. In a bowl mix together 3 parts Courvoisier to 1 part honey. Add ground cinnamon to taste. Place peach halves in large Ziploc bag(s). Pour cognac marinade into the bag. Let the peaches soak up this marinade for a few hours, at least one hour before cook time. Brush the grill with oil. BBQ peaches on the grill, 5-7 minutes on each side or until you can easily press a fork into the flesh. Leftover marinade can be drank, as it’s delicious, or…

Media Dinner at Church Aperitivo Bar

I wasn’t sure what Italiam sashimi was but I love Italian food so I was in. The meal at Church was excellent and I tried a few things I’d never had before. My notes are not nearly as neat near the end as I’m sure I drank a bottle of wine to myself. Italian sashimi is cut thinner than traditional sashimi and comes served with toppings. I appreciated this because although I enjoy eating raw fish, sometimes it’s cut too thick at Japanese places and I struggle to get it down my throat then spit it out in a napkin. I know that’s gross but it’s true ok! I can’t be alone here? I felt pretty great because they had a section ready and a personalized menu. Thanks guys!
