I just don’t have time right now. Lots to check of my list today at the office. Totes looking forward to getting home to my new bed and sitting at my new desk and writing stories and drawing in my sketch book. I’m so excited for Florida next week, five whole days of vacation. Said the lady at the passport office as I zipped through the line with my VIP pass. I got the Mayorship on Foursquare the moment I walked in the door. It was my second check-in there, last time I waited heaps long only to find out that my passport was too expired and I needed a different form. That’s how I got the special pass. I heard a snarky, “urgh, we waited an hour” as my smiling face skipped to the counter in under 2 minutes. The lady at my counter, bless her grumpy soul, had the buggiest eyes I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t stop staring. I wished her a lovely day, however, my cheer didn’t seem to affect her. She didn’t affect me and now I’m off to work feeling great. Dad gave me a Timmy Ho’s giftcard so I got a nice brekky today and thought of him. Arriving at work early and ready for a great day. Happy Monday!
View PostThe sound of a rooster woke me up, and, just as I planned, I started laughing. I fell asleep thinking positive thoughts of “welcome summer” and “I want a porsche“. Got up about an hour earlier than usual to kick off the week before my birthday on Saturday, I’m gonna be 28. Its a beautiful day, the ground is wet, the air is warm. Might rain but for now, the sun is shining bright. Pulled out the AA thigh highs, threw on my wellies and shorts and made it out the door just after 8am. Sun shining in my face… Pretty walk through the park. Ready for puddle jumping. Having lunch with the lovely Lucia and I’ve also booked the whole night to myself. Started cleaning room last night, finally. Brought a banana for brekky today. It’s time to start planning for Florida trip, as in not eating crap! I need that toned up beach body in place, maybe I’ll even get a couple workouts (won’t hold my breath on that one!). Its absolutely lovely outside today. I wrote this as I walked to work using WordPress mobile & added the pix from my phone when I got into the office. Hope your day starts off great like mine did. View PostI got shot by Erika Ruth about 2 weeks ago. Here are some of the pix. It was a super nice day out, sunny, warm. I was internetting down by the lake in the sunshine. My outfit: singlet, american apparel bikini, cut off shorts, fishnets, Dr. Marten combat boots, ribbon laces. Then I chilled out on Canada’s largest tall ship, Empire Sandy. It got a little windy as I reflected on my day. This one is my fav. I’ll have the whole set from her later this week. Stoked to see how they look. View PostHello Monday, Nice to see you again. Not a “case” of you today more like a sort of “amazing case” fills the air around me and makes me feel sunny between all these clouds and raindrops. [Case of the Monday’s Mum, it’s from Office Space, a movie] My stylist came over last night and after the hot tub time machine, lectured me that I NEED to make time to get my hair done. I desperately need to go in, but seriously, have not had the time. [Sorry!] I’m going to have to zip over there during the day for an hour this week. Fashion Week is coming and I’ve been invited to a bunch of shows this year including……..BARBIE! I’ve had a bunch of interview requests recently too, so like, seriiiiiiously need ma hair did. The WORST is having your photo documented in history…[dun dun dun] with BAD HAIR. [Talk about first world problems….haha] Made an appointment for my new tattoo yesterday. Right forearm, hot. The guy who is doing my tattoo looks kinda like this babe I tumbled across last night. I never blog about boys, and rarely post photos of them, it’s better that way. Random thought….I have this terrible fear of one day, losing my memory, the only thing I will have to remember is this blog and that is how I will know who my friends are, events, people who matter and those I love. Her attitude is totally refreshing. She doesn’t put up with whiny, negative, bitchy, complainers, and she knows what she’s doing because she worked at it. I find her to be quite admirable and I’m looking forward to seeing her IRL. View PostI fell asleep during Avatar last week. I fell asleep during Sherlock Holmes last night. It happens…I can’t help it. I get in the theater and it’s dark and i’m warm and I eat a bunch of popcorn and my eyes get heavy. I made it through Daybreakers but there are vampires so it’s too scary to sleep during that one. View PostHoly taxi cabs! I arrived last night at about 8. Took me just as long to fly here as it did to get through traffic to my hotel in Manhattan. I saw the Rockafeller Tree, it’s beauty! I’ve not done any exploring or hunting for style yet, that’s today. There’s a nasty storm on the way and we’re a little worried we wont make it out tomorrow. Stating tucked inside the hotel, insulated concrete forms to keep us safe from the nasty that mother nature is about to bring on. We’ve got a Monday afternoon flight to Cuba that CAN NOT be missed. View PostThis is me today… I’m heading to New York tomorrow and excited. I’m also a bit nervous and having anxiety. I’ve never been to NY and i’m flying porter there all by myself then I have to take a taxi to our hotel. I know everything will be fine but I can’t help but feel the nerves kicking in. I’ve got two suitcases, one for NY and one packed for Cuba on Monday. I’m very lucky to be going but i’m feeling the pressure to get lots of stuff done for work and blog and pack and family/christmas stuff. Plus, Blackberry emails are not coming through and twitter replies are slow, adding to the anxiousness. In other news, I’ve decided to sell the Bell Google Android phone. If you want it, tell me, I posted it here. Take a deep breath…I’m so ready for the beach.
View PostA couple years ago, 2007, I was in a job I began to hate so one day, I flat out quit. I started doing freelance PR. It was good glam for a while but then I was poor ass. So… I went to work at Hemingways, Toronto’s very own Little New Zealand in Yorkville. It was really fun. I hadn’t worked in a resto in a few years. It was a bit tough at first to adjust to the lifestyle but it really didn’t take long. I made friends with a heap of awesome people, mostly hot girls. I worked there for the best busiest time of year too; end of summer before Flm Fest – Christmas. I was proud of myself for not getting sad about not making enough money doing freelance work, instead I pulled up my socks, hiked up my miniskirt and started serving. No matter what job I was doing, I never lost sight of what I truly love…being social. Instead of complaining about the waitress life I took more shifts and worked as much as I could. It was a good strategy and worked well to bond with other employees. I got a call in December from an old colleague, in recruiting who had an opportunity he thought I’d be great for. Turns out, I was great for it! I left Hems for that job and stayed there until recently leaving to work for the MuchMTV Group. It’s amazing to think of all the changes I’ve gone through. Been going through lots of photos lately, there’s only about 10,000 from the past five or so years. Wendy was one of my fav’s. She was a little crazy one just like me. We partied alot together. View PostI need a new sketchbook. Yes, need. I’m feeling that scatter brain a little, little bit a rattle brain a little. I had my photo taken yesterday for an upcoming feature in Toronto Life. I like having my photo taken and my house makes a great studio. Daniel had shot a couple others before me and said I was the most fun. I visited Aggy last night, I missed her face. She’s got a nice one and the hair, well, you know, style. I’d like to take more photos with photographers, some creative fun over the winter. We invited over an American friend and a bunch of others last night an made a turkey with all the trimmings. It was tasty. I’ll be having turkey sandwiches and turkey soup all week. Yum.
