My friends at Mattel recently send me this pack of games. I decided to take them up to the cottage for some family fun! An Afternoon w/ Susur Lee at Bent Restauraunt

Yesterday I spent the afternoon at Bent Restaurant w/ world-renowned chef Susur Lee, learning about his cooking an sampling the upcoming Veggielicious menu. The five-course vegetarian menu runs September 9th-20th at Bent, which he owns with his sons. Yes, he is holding two fish in the photo but they’re for the raw sushi bar! These didn’t last long! We started by making meringue desserts so they could bake while we explored the menu. I’m quite familiar w/ meringue as the Pavlova is a famous New Zealand dessert I’ve been making with mum as long as I can remember. We were given Susur Lee’s merengue recipe so I’m planning whip up a batch at the cottage this weekend and impress Sean’s parents. Look out! Below on the left is the meringue Chef made and mine is on the right. Added some almonds to fancy it up a bit. It was delicious. Scroll down to see the dessert presentation, it was a thing of beauty. Montreal Roadtrip! #tbt

A couple of years ago Sean and I took a trip to Montreal for a weekend. We stayed at the W Montreal and had driven there in a car from Ford Canada. Montreal is dreamy in the summer. The W Hotel has a great breakfast, it’s own nightlife, and an in-suite tub you could stay in all afternoon. We had dinner in Old Montreal and took a stroll by the water the next day. This is a little video Sean made of our weekend. Original posts: August, 2012 I’m still at the cottage and thinking that living here would not be that horrible. I’ve gotten used to the silence and although it’s been cool and rainy the last few days, I’ve found comfort in having the fireplace on and wearing jogging hooded jumpers. It may be raining outside but there’s sunshine in here.

It’s been a bit gloomy up here the last 24 hours but I don’t really mind it. Hopefully we get some sunshine tomorrow. Jenie is coming to visit w/ her BF today and I can’t wait! Made a time lapse of the rain storm yesterday. It was magical with the sun shining through most the time. Posted the 15 second on Instagram here. Been doing some travelling w/ Kim Kardashian. I just can’t quit her! Looked at Sean’s old family albums and I knew he was cute but SERIOUSLY he is JUST SO DAMN CUTE. Look at this Jr. Blondetourage member! What a little legend. Hoping we can float in those big donuts I got on Amazon in the sunshine tomorrow. The rain is relaxing but also makes me sleepy. Reckon I’ll take a trip to town before I get cabin fever. You may say I’m a dreamer, But I’m not the only one

Good morning and happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend. I just discovered that a Muskoka chair makes a great work desk. More of these in offices! Sitting on the deck, looking out to the lake, catching up on emails, and writing this message to the world. Had a very relaxing weekend and plan for a very relaxing week. We’ve got some work to do around the cottage and I’ve got plans to work on a few internetty things I’ve been putting off. It took me a day to get out of city mode but now, I’m ready. Listening to the ultimate cottage summer station, 104.1 The Dock. ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon just came on. 🙂 You may say I’m a dreamer, But I’m not the only one I’ll try to space out all my #cottagelife posts with other things so it’s not overload (this is for you and me haha). I’m taking an actual no-work vacation next week.

Count down till the weekend is ON! I’m up at the cottage for an entire week starting Saturday. We have the cleaning lady taking care of the house while we’re away too. It’s the first time (in who knows how long) that I’m taking a no-work vacation. I mean, no obligatory blogging, tweeting, sponsors, or events. I’ve been around the world and back over the last five years but each time has been with a company or sponsored trip that required me to do something. Being on the internet has taken me on an amazing journey but it can also be very tiring. It takes a lot of energy to be always on, and sharing your life with the world. I can’t wait to be up at the cottage tomorrow. Last night I slept for about 10 hours and when I woke up it was like I had been in a coma and was still tired. This week has really tuckered me out! #Travel: A Weekend in Boston w/ My Loves

On Friday afternoon Sean and I hopped on a little plane at Toronto Island and flew Porter across the pond to Boston. I absolutely LOVE flying Porter. We arrived at the (worlds shortest commercial) ferry at 2:10pm, landed on the island at 2:15pm, and at 2:40 we had checked in at the gate and through security. There was even time for a sandwich and a drink & snack. Pop, juice, water, coffee, tea, cookies, almonds are all free in the lounge. WIFI too! The flight was a breeze and in just under an hour and a half we landed at Boston Logan. It was my first time using the automated US Customs and it was a total breeze. We had a chuckle that I took a glamour shot. Like, check out that photo? All my selfie taking is really paying off. I can’t wait till I go for my next Passport photo. We stopped at The Bell in Hand as usual. I’ve been going there with Bob since my first Boston trip about five years ago. It’s the oldest pub in America and our friend Meri works there. Some Heineken babes were dishing out free beers which was a nice start to the weekend! Our next stop was Nico’s Restaurant in Boston’s North End, Little Italy. I absolutely LOVE Italian food and our dinner here was FANTASTIC. I packed up the leftovers and snacked on them later. A bunch of celebs have dined there and I was most interested to see The Rock had been there since that photo of him from the 90’s has been flying around this week. #Muskoka: Life For Me Is A Riverboat Fantasy

Had a great weekend lounging at the cottage up in Muskoka. The weather was a bit cloudy on Saturday when we arrived but it was warm and I have no complaints! Boat is in the water so we got to do some cruisin’ around the lake. I’ve had David Wilcox ‘Riverboat Fantasy’ stuck in my head since yesterday. It always comes on 104.1 The Dock when we’re driving in cottage country. If you’re looking for some good oldies and classic rock, you can listen online here. My activities on Sunday included floating, reading, snacking, and sun tanning. Magazine reading has me thinking about layering. I know Autumn is a while away but fall fashion is just so dreamy. Brock & Jenn came up for the weekend and we are all obsessed w/ Doritos Roulette. They’re so freaking good! I’ve ordered two of these donut floaties and they should arrive before the long weekend. Love Your Life: Shangri-La, Hollywood, Netflix, Art

Remember last week when I went to the Vitamin A show at Shangri-La? Well, I shot the show with my GoPro and posted a video on Instagram as an entry to their contest…and I WON. The prize is amazing! I’ll be visiting the health club and spa at the Shangri-La in Toronto once a month for the next 12 months AND I get a new Vitamin A bathing suit once a month for the next year. Other parts of the prize include a gift basket from L’Oréal and a pendant from Birks. Huzzah! The contest was to post your fav look from the show and when I found out the prize I put some elbow grease into making something great. Here’s my winning entry! In other news, I’ve been playing Kardashian and I made the A-List. I know it’s stupid but it’s also kinda fun. I have a few friends who are also playing and it’s a hoot chatting about it with them over Twitter. Sean can’t understand why I would want to play this game when my real life actually has some similarities to the game. Next weekend we’re flying to Boston t visit friends and I hope to get to NY very soon. Finished The Fall on Netflix and really enjoyed the series. I’m practically a professional binger! Jillian Anderson stars in this BBC thriller. I love watching Criminal Minds and cop dramas so this one was like a really long good episode. There’s only 5 eps in the series. Been walking past these stars on my way to work and finally decided to take their picture. There’s art everywhere! Hope your week is going well. Off to the Races! Queen’s Plate 2014 #QP14

From the cottage to the red carpet! Yesterday Sean and I went to the Queen’s Plate at Woodbine Raceway as soon as we got back from the cottage. We both rushed around to find an outfit and Queen West vintage shops saved the day for me once again. Picked up this purple hat from the Public Butter and dress from another little shop near Queen/Lansdowne (Parkdale). We bet on the last 4 races and unfortunately didn’t win. I’m not a fan of horses, for some reason they really creep me out but I do love horse racing. When I lived in Australia it was such a huge event to attend the races. Everyone there was dressed to the nines! I remember going surfing and rushing back to the house, throwing on a dress, makeup, and a huge hat before gracing the red carpet. Post by Woodbine Racetrack. Pride was SO MUCH FUN. I’ve been going for years and this year, Toronto was host to WORLD PRIDE and it was bigger and better than ever. After coming back from the cottage on Sunday afternoon I met up with all my besties and my sister and we danced the night away. One of the things I love most about summer is heading up to the cottage, taking in all the fresh air, and boating on the lake. It’s an amazing way to really soak up life’s greatness. Pop Up Perrier – Playground Party Photos!

Last week the Burroughs Building on Queen West was host to Pop Up with Perrier, a playground themed party for grownups. I worked with Community Agency to invite some of my closes friends, media, and socialites from the city to come out and get down. Salt in the Air, Sand in My Hair

This dress belonged to Mum. She got it in Hawaii on a stopover vacation when I was about 2 years old. It’s one of my favs. Photo was taken by Kelly Kruschel. I would really love to be at a beach right now. Went up to the cottage this weekend but it wasn’t very warm and the bugs were brutal. Still have the Chevy Camaro until 8pm tonight so Sean and I are gonna go for a cruise after work. I had a burrito for lunch again from Playa Cabana, we’re in a relationship now haha. He didn’t win at the MMVA last ngiht but he DID win in the style deportment. Got him decked out in Ted Baker and will share some pix of that soon. Telus Day of Giving 2014|Garden Paint Party!

Last weekend EmBot and I volunteered at the ninth annual TELUS Day of Giving w/ 15,000 TELUS team members, who took part in 700 activities in local communities across Canada. We worked in the garden area painting signs for the community planters. at the Harbourfront Community Centre. It was really fun painting these, thinking about picking some up for the cottage and painting on the dock. Some of the team with us that day cleaned up the garden area in the middle of the centre. It was lookin’ pretty shabby when we arrived and by the end of the day is was beautiful! There is Such a Thing as Too Much Nature

And I discovered it it this weekend. Once again, I was attached by bugs. One little jerk even bit me on the eyelid and not it looks like somebody socked me one in the face. We had a relaxing time at the cottage with Sean’s parents, great dinners, and lovely weather. Next weekend is Field Trip so I’ll be staying in the city. Mum just informed me that if you take lots of B12 they won’t bite. Good thing I know that now for the rest of the summer! I’m really behind on blogging but it was SO NICE OUT this weekend I couldn’t bring myself to stay inside and do work. I’ve got a bunch of things to share this week! Suffer for Your Art | Sunset Canoe Ride

Last night we went for a romantic sunset canoe ride. It was so incredibly beautiful. Took these with my GoPro. Jumped in the lake before calling it a night. It’s so great to be back up at the cottage. The weather this weekend was pretty nice except the bugs were HORRIBLE. I really ‘suffered for my art’ as Sean calls it because I got about 20 nasty bites while on the canoe ride. Mostly on my bum! The little buggers got me right through my Lululemon pants! This week is gonna be great! Today is the warmest day of the year. We’re about to launch some AWESOME stuff at work and today I’ve got a NXNE site visit for our festival sponsorship. The Jays are doing great and Thursday I’ve got a double date with Lauren and our BFs to sit in the Bacardi Best Seats for the game. We went last year and it was awesome. Weekends Were Made for Love

Had such a great time at the cottage this weekend. Posted a few Instagrams of our fun here. Thanks to the TimeHop app I was reminded that I’ve been coming up here with Sean for two years now. I really fell in love with the ‘Cottage Sean’ back then. This weekend it was so great to go for long drives, sleeping in, take naps, lazing in the sun, and hanging out with friends together. Sean got me this Good Kid Mad Hope hoodie from the CSAW Company for my birthday. Didn’t realize just HOW rad CSAW is. It’s also super soft and perfect for this not-yet-summer weather we’re having. You’ll see me living in this and the COTTAGE sweater (both from Community 54) right into the fall. Ellie Goulding in the same hoodie. Whut whut. I’m ready for the weekend. Got Wood | New Stuff for the House from Artemano

On Monday night Sean and I took a little trip up to the Toronto Artemano store. It’s located just north of Eglington on Caledonia. With furniture stores in Montreal, Toronto, Quebec and more, they specialize in high quality wood furniture and home décor shipped anywhere in North America. I know Mum would really love this place. After a busy day it was lovely to escape to such a peaceful atmosphere. Janaya welcomes us into the store for a private shopping experience. They’ll be featuring my five fav items from the store in an upcoming post on their blog. There are heaps of magical pieces for yout home made from salvaged wood, boats from Thailand, and massive fallen trees. It’s not for the bargain shoppers, but if you are looking for a beautiful statement piece to join your family, this is the spot.

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

Yesterday was my birthday and to be honest, it was a really long and exhausting day! I’m dying to get up to the cottage an have some peace and quiet time in the wilderness. I went to the doctor for a checkup. I know strange thing to do on your birthday but I had the day off work and I’d been putting it off for ages. Keri and I had lunch at the brand spankin’ new California Sandwiches at Bay/College. I had NO IDEA they had locations that were so modern. I’d only been to the the Claremont location that is older than your grandma. I went to the office for an event in the evening. We had a bunch of artists into the office and Luke Austin played some acoustic tunes for us. He is REALLY good, check him out here. Got some nice surprises throughout the day including flowers at my old agency! I used t get gifts there all the time so when flowers arrived for me yesterday, I’m sure everyone rolled their eyes. They are beautiful, thank you Evolution PR. Did some work from the roof at the office this morning. Man, it’s so nice up there. Title is a quote by Satchel Paige. This is my 32 year old face and I feel pretty great. I think I’ll always have a childlike fancy about me. It helps to always look on the bright side. Mellow Yellow Monday

It’a super nice out today. I took off my jacket to snap some photos on my way to work and the sun was already beating down. I heard it might get up to 20 today. It’s about time I start using my Canon DSLR now that it’s nice out. Last summer I was just getting to learn how to use it as an ambassador w/ Canon for the Canon Blogtography program. I’m happy these pants still fit, I really need to get my summer bod rockin’. Since the winter was so long and cold I managed to stay inside and hibernate for months which also meant a million movies, snacks, takeout. These jellies were sent to me by Narrative PR & Call It Spring, I feel like a kid when I wear them. Especially with my backpack on. It’s a great feeling really 🙂 Our quick visit to the cottage yesterday was ok, the lake is still frozen and it’s still winter up there. The snowbank was too high to put the car in the driveway. The water is going to be so cold this year! Luckily I have my garden at our house in the city to work on before getting into full cottage mode. It’s much more fun up there when it’s warm! Thinking of my friends in Boston and everyone in the marathon today. Last year Sean and I were in Boston that weekend and downtown right were the bombings happened the day before. I knew a couple people running and it was pretty scary. I hope everything today goes fine ad everyone is safe. Thinking I’ll venture out into the sun over lunch, check out the hood. Fresh Faced + Feeling Good | Dermalogica + Frank Love

Since I went for that Dermalogica facial at the start of April I’ve been using a new toner and moisturizer. It had been ages since I’d exfoliated and the this past winter made my skin extra dry. I purchased a new medium weight moisturizer after the facial and the cover tint (light foundation) I’ve been wearing lately has SPF 20. Thought I’d take a second to say my face feels SO GREAT. It’s never been so soft and I’ve been wearing less makeup. The facial I had a was a good scrub and polish designed just for my skin type. I want to stay looking young and fresh faced forever! Don’t You Ever Forget It, Your Awesomeness

This weekend is SPRING CLEANING. I’ve been talking about it with Sean for weeks and since the weather is URGHH, I’ve decided to make the most of it my making our house more ‘home’. I was really stoked to open the cottage but safety takes the cake and a freezing rain warning is enough to put a stop to us going North. Today I destroyed a disaster that had been piling up and organized my entire wardrobe. Took three bag of clothes to Value Village (VV Boutique) and didn’t hold back. I find purging my stuff is addictive, I start to care less and less about ‘things’ and if I need to, I take photos to remember. They take up less space. Online storage is cheaper than a unit too! Threw out a lambskin leather jacket from Holt’s I’ve been ‘planning to fix’ for two years, I hope someone great finds it. How great is this shirt from Bow& Drape? Who wants one? You can actually make your own but mine is so freaking sweet! It’s sequins actually! Stumbled upon this brand randomly (Pinterest?) and got this stunna. Found these babies when I was cleaning along with a TON of other jewellery. Good luck, good rings, good reminders.
