Saturday Hipster Hop: The Hoxton, Dance Party, Pool Party

Saturday night was opening of the Hoxton. we were told to be there early, but naturally, we rockd up closed to 11:30 and it was a mess. Cops all over the place, hipster hardcode lined up around the worker and the sidewalk covered in people. We were on VIP Media list but that wasn’t going to help at the time. There were so many people at the time that nobody was getting in. Asked Zane if it was worth it and came to the conclusion we’re better off changing plans. Wahhhhhh. Not Hox for these kids just yet. Media night is Aug. 31 so we’ll be there then. Everywhere was packed and since we were with some travellers, Scottie. Ross & Andrew and The Australian, we stopped by the Backpackers Hostel for beers with the babes. I always wanted to check that place out anyways. O’Nizz & I pretended we were travellers too and met this REAL CANADIAN. Bathrooms in that place are nasty. PLANK GIRL. Next stop TOTA so see some friends & DJs. This party don’ stop. Was so smart of me to bring that fan. Dance party. We all hopped the fence at Scadding Court and joined a bunch of other hipsters for a late night swim. IT WAS AWESOME. POOL PARTY! Sammy & Ross are vets at pool hopping. They were at the massive pool hang at Christie pool a couple weeks back. Everyone in their skivvies. Peeps were chill in’ all over the place. The Blondetourage Does Baseball

Yesterday was an epic day for a ball game. O’Nizz, Keri, the boys and I were invited to hang out with our friends from Keek.com for Roberto Alomar Hall of Fame Day. It was awesome! Check out our box! Roberto Alomar was my fav player as a kid. I loved being there to watch the Jays retire his number and hear him speak. You are legend! Where’s Waldo? Can you see him? Two mounties walking behind. I had a huge crush on him when I was little. Remember how much of a babe he was? Swoon. He’s still pretty good looking TBH. I was fan girl crushing pretty hard. The entire stadium was PACKED. I heard the game was sold out! Whoa. His speech was very kind. My fav thing that he said was something his Mum always told him “be humble”. We had a ‘gay ol’ time’ singing “Take me out to the ball game”. I can only imagine how hot it would be to sit in the sun for the whole game. I didn’t see any umbrellas, are they even allowed? Probably not eh. Remind me to bring a huge hat if I ever sit down there. Hey there sports fans: Seany, Sammy, Ross. I can see my house! Two studs right here. Home run! It was Ross’ birthday. I can’t remember if we say HBD but we sure celebrated good! I’ve totally fallen in love with my new camera, Olympus Pen, you rule. This guy had two nipple piercings and a belly button. WOW! It’s beautiful out today! Doing a wee bit of work them meeting a babe for a bike to the beaches. Later in the day brings a Bellwoods hang and tonight I’ve got a date with my computer. Ate this ice cream last night. Doesn’t it look delish? It was. Last night I opened a box of creativity and started working on my first short film. I shot it with Olympus PEN, camera is wicked. I’m loving iMovie. Man, switching from Windows Movie maker to that is like a whole different generation of awesome. Keri got me hooked on this jam and it keeps popin’ up on my Spotify. I love it now. toronto grafitti

Got a different perspective on Toronto’s famous “Graffiti Alley” this weekend. If you don’t know it, YOU ARE CRAZY. It’s famous and awesome and can be found near Queen/Spadina, south side back alley. Learned history of graffiti, vocabulary and styles. Someone covered the Banksy on Hotel Ocho. Talked about the controversy around graffiti in our city. Lots of it. One of the pieces in my video is “Blob Ford”. SO many cool ones. Good artists. Thanks to Tour Guys & Jaunt.ca for the tour. Nice to get to0 know a little more about Toronto. Good collection of Toronto street art here. I like this one, obvs. haha I was postered on Queen Street a few years back by Toronto Poster Boy. They were big & bright, done with wheat paste. I’m a rad driver. Have grown to love driving since I’ve been doing it more lately (Toyota Matrix, Chevy Cruize, Ford Fusion). My fav one today was the Tijuan. VW driving blogger blonde. OUTTA THE WAY BUDDY, MAMA’S COMIN’! haha No seriously though, ripped corners mega hard. Crushed the brakes, tested them good. Liked having a pro driver in the passenger seat too. Track driving is fun, I like testing high performance things. Keri is a good driver. She has a VW and it’s featured in her show The Canadian Explorer. Starting to quite enjoy the Olympus PEN camera. Took some getting used to. When I get better I’d like to try some difference lenses. Fancy, huh. Wear good shoes for optimal driving performance & cuteness. I put everything through the “Casie Stewart: this is my life” test which is heaps of use and lots of wear. I’m REALLY great at testing products, especially electronics & clothes. (HINTY HINT) The things about Docs is they last forever. The shop on Queen Street kindly replaced my pair with a shiny new set of boots. When Fall rolls around I’ll be rockin’ them with that sexy leather jacket I picked up from Holts during the Crystal Light Challenge. Tonight I’m staying at the SOHO Hotel with a friend courtesy of Jaunt.ca and tomorrow Keri and I are doing the Volkswagen Driving Tour. I’m gonna zip around in a TDI. Vroooooooooooooooom. COOL THINGS HAPPENING.

Our city is full of really rad things to do. Did you know that the pool at Bathurst & Dundas is free and open till midnight? It was packed last night. Last night was also super hot. I went for a bevy with cute boy and he brought a water gun. Gentlemen, do this. It’s cute and fun and very practical during this extreme heat wave. Look at this happy face 🙂 July 26th – Art Battle Sweet 16 Have you ever been to an Art Battle? It’s competitive paint battling! This round they have 16 painters and it is going to be exciting. Last one I went to was AB:11. The great Hall gets packed with painters and it’s quite a site to see. I recommend you check it out. Facebook deets here. Parkdale Bazzar: Wolfie Prints Sale My friend Nicole (you will see her at Peach Berserk) has a rad Etsy store (you know I lvoe Ets). The shop is called Wolfie Prints and it’s a collection of original hand drawings on clothing and paper. She is park of the Parkdale Bazzar, Saturday, July 23 from 11am-5pm at Parkdale Town Square. Walked to the airport with my sis yesterday. Toronto is an amazing city. Almost certain this guy is the same model from the Mark’s style thing I did last week. This ‘type’ is often used in ads. Maybe he just has ‘the look’? Worlds shortest Ferry ride. Jenie is starting to look more & more like you Mum. The red plane is Air Greenland. Keri & I were certain it was some type of fancy Air Canada thinger. If you have never flown Porter, wait for the next 30% off seat sale (I will post) and book yourself a ticket. Best service ever. The line was hours to get to him. So many people waiting. The front of the line winds around again further than you can see. Crazy. There was no sign of Danika Patrick. I wish. Made this video for Dad a in 2009. I watched practice from the fence. I love the sound of those cars. Had longer hair then too. Do you ever read the archives? This weekend I am super stoked to be checking out the HONDA INDY. Friday is FREE DAY and anyone can go. If you’ve never been or want an excuse to leave work early, you’re welcome. There’s also a Tweetup on Saturday. The charming & good looking (;)) team at Honda Canada gave me a pair of GOLD passes for the weekend including Paddock Passes for extra awesome access. The awesome ShaSha Bread Co. float. They won 1st place for their design last year and this year it was pretty darn awesome. Getting instructions before we learn our choreography. Haha Rob Ford was there drinkin’ in the street. I kid, I kid. The Crew! Team Good looking! Sammy is funny. Nice tatas. I was having an epic hair day. I gave Sammy that beautiful hot pink extension. Bubbles are fun too. I love this kini. Nice shot photographer. We had so much fun dancing. I heard “Born This Way” about 200 times yesterday. I’m always amazed by how many nude people are in the streets. Mind boggling. We are so cool us Canadians. So epic. Water was infused with lemon & vanilla, it smelled like ShaSha lemon snaps. DELICIOUS! Thanks Raymi for connecting me & ShaSha! You were missed Raymbo! Streets were so packed. It was great having everyone call out to you from the streets. I love crowds & the spotlight. Tech | Social Media Day -Toronto is one of most most social in the world.

I’d like to think I had something to do with that. I kid, I kid. We’re SO online and our Social media Day meetup is SO BIG that Mashable wrote about us today. We Toronto peeps know how to have fun. Get social baby. Props to Michael Nus & Dan Levy for putting this together. Last year I spoke about running the social media for MuchMusic & MTV Canada & this year I’m speaking about building a personal brand. Over 350 people are attending so it’s gonna, kinda a big deal. Wish Mum was here to see me in action. I’m sure someone will have on video. Last year I was JUST getting into speaking and has my hands in my pockets the whole time. Won’t do that again. Queen Spadina Fire

Walked Brent Winsor to Brocklyn’s house and heard so many sirens on the way. This is where they were going… One of the units on the South side of Queen just West of Spadina across from CTS was on fire. Spadina/Adelaide/Queen Street shut down. People were evacuated. I saw a couple with their cats in cat cages. Sad, I really hope everyone is ok. I looked serious. One of the restos right there recently went out of business. Other than that, no details to report. These are my photos. Adelaide East to Spadina. So many trucks. Fire was in the building right behind these fighters. Queen/Spadina. Queen Street West. Then I saw an open manhole on my way home. Pure beer bliss.

All the beer shelves were fully stocked, store opens today in Liberty Village. I love straight lines. Everything was lined up with perfection. Pretty. Pinup. ♥ Very nice shop that appeals to urban consumers. Young urban professionals of downtown, generation Y, Yuppies 2.0. SO good to see Carly & have her back in town. Love you babe! Carly is my agent and today I have a top secret audition for something on TV. I was taking our pic in the mirror here… Then I totally spilled my beer. Doh! Food was really good and outside they had an oyster bar. Look how big that one guys is! They looked to slimey for me. I kinda like oysters but think I’m stopping liking them. annoying department: excuse me for a minute

One of the most annoying things ever is when girls (any age) talk about you to other people. I’ve talked about it before and despite getting older, it never seems to go away. It is especially annoying when it is public, negative, the person has a high profile and they also don’t bother to say it to you directly. I was not Regina George in highschool and didn’t used to have the confidence I do now. I got bullied heaps growing up, mostly by mean girls. Today I got a message from a friend on my way home from the airport after six hours on airplanes and spending half the day before in an airport… “your tweets & blog post rant about parents with kids at airport is causing a shit storm with parents on fb” GREAT! Welcome home! First: Thank you for reading & linking to my blog Erica. I’m happy to have you as a reader. I’ve been a fan of yours since I was a kid. Circa 1991 here, lookin’ cute. Dad loves racing so to be working with a race car driver is pretty neat. Especially an epic, race winning child prodigy one. Sky & I were twerkin’ hard in the office aka the rig. She is 11. We were tweeting our hearts out during the bike race portion. She is a riot. RA RA RIOT. I was telling Kyle how he’s gonna have ladies all ova’ him. He’s so dang cute. Any of you out there 13ish? He’s single. Gettin’ ready. Talladega styles. Race time. Team #71. Was a totally crazy race. Started with 25 drivers, finished with 16ish. About 20 cautions, three ambo’s. This one went straight to hospital, back injury. Hope you’re ok man. Waiting for the track to be cleared then take a few laps to warm up the tires. (Get’s easily distracted) HAHAHAHAHAHHA. What a winner this stud. Kyle took 3rd. Nice one buddy! Kyle loves Gatorade. (wink wink nudge nudge) Sky, you are the cutest ever. Check those tire marks from racers bumpin’ him. Bump & grind fo’ realz His shirt was actually soaking wet. We were laughing. Dang hot drivin’ them cars. (Clearly I’ve been in the South, I’m typing with an accent.) Impressed with how well spoken you are Kyle. Nice twerk. Good interview. Night was fun. Brekky & travel home tomorrow. I miss my own bed. I like being away but I love coming home. Next trip is Boston in July. Next week is busy with NXNE (music & interactive), MMVAs & more. Gonna be real fun. Have an awesome day 🙂

boyfriend the ocean played live music for me

Best sleep of my life last night. Ocean, I love you. Your melodies were the perfect lullaby. Best bed ever. Huge wooden headboard is my love. So beautiful. Went walking Pensacola Beach by myself last night. It was so lovely. I had no idea the Gulf water was so warm. About to head to the beach now post brekky. Map of where I am here. This is the pier right outside my hotel. Remember the Gulf Oil Spill last year? Covered this same beach in tar balls for about eight miles. Same Pier. Oil came ashore on the beach overnight, and the waters were closed to the public. Geologists dug trenches aong the beach and there were veins of oil buried in approximately 4-6 inches of sand. Crazy eh. “It looked like tobacco spit and smelled foreign, and it pooled in yesterday’s footprints as far as you could see. State officials called it the worst show of crude on shore from the gusher 120 miles away.” Tampa Bay News It’s all clean now but still sad to look out my window to a beautiful view knowing it was once damaged by oil.Click for more photos or oil spill info. These kids were playing in this shell making shadows. I’m going to do that tonight. It was really cute. Passed by some bars but wasn’t in the mood for drinking. Hey Creep!
