Thanks Converse.ca ?✌? New Shoes for Me! New Shoes for You!

In celebration of converse.ca (Welcome to ?? !) they sent an awesome package. The box is an old computer with a lenticular screen, and it’s full of disks. A couple disks have codes for FREE SHOES and I’m sharing then w you. YAY! I gave a pair to Matt @ 1188 to test shipping. Ordered Friday shipped Monday, on his feet Tuesday in TO from Montreal. Every summer I get a new pair of white Converse because after wearing them all summer with no socks, trust me, they’re worn out done.  I’d like a pair of white leather hightops but I also love the little white Dainty. Really feeling the Nike X Flyknit but they only come in mens sizes and my feet are too small. ? The new Converse II  soles are more comfortable. They’re a great summer staple, love them with dresses or jeans, shorts, and rompers. They’re my fav. I have a framed photo of my Andy Warhol converse in my room and another couple pairs tucked away in under bed storage for safe keeping; an Andy Warhol pair and classic Chuck Taylor high tops with my signature on the tongue.  HOW TO WIN? LEAVE A COMMENT! ?? Scroll over to converse.ca, find your fav shoes, and say hi in the comments w/ a link to your fav pair. I’ll pick two people and shoes will be delivered to you anywhere in Canada. Extra points for good manners, jokes, or kind words. GOOD LUCK! ?

Fashion | Converse Holiday Preview 2015

Last week I went to the media preview for Converse 2015 Holiday. I’ve been wearing these kicks my entire life. Mum reminded me the other day that I had them as a wee little kiddo. I’ve gone through heaps of pairs over the years and love how they change slightly, yet remain the same. This year Converse released the Converse Chuck Taylor Chuck II. The new Chuck II is nearly identical to its predecessor, with advances in construction and technology, including Nike’s Lunarlon cushioning. They’re more comfortable! This neon colour is limited edition FYI. A photo posted by StephenThomasM (@stephenthomasm) on Sep 29, 2015 at 6:27pm PDT “[The Chuck II] continues to reflect the spirit of the Chuck Taylor and what it’s meant all these years. It still has all of the most recognizable exterior attributes of the Chuck — that’s important to the consumer. We’re just addressing the new needs of the consumer while staying true to this iconic sneaker,” said David Allen, GM and VP of Converse North America. There’s two new styles from the Holiday 2015 Collection I’m majorly crushing on. First, these rubber Chuck Taylor high tops. I can see myself wearing these all winter, summer, spring, and fall. They’re waterproof and have a sleek zipper down the back. Get on my feet you guys!  ???? Second is not released in Canada yet but they will be soon.  I’m not supposed to say anything about the collab just yet but I found this tweet on Twitter and won’t go into detail and just leave it here… You can see why I love them! Uh-huh honey: Converse #MadebyYou + Honey Eyes

About a week ago I attended a private dinner with some of Converse’s NY team and top ranked influencers in Toronto. We sat down at the Gladstone Hotel to learn about the latest #MadebyYou campaign from Converse and few other treats. I recently picked up a few new pairs of Air Optix Color contacts from Toronto Eyecare. We were talking about other colours available and I mentioned I’d love to give them a try, so VOILA! These ones are Honey and make my eyes look light brown in the sun. My natural eyes are hazel so there’s a slight difference. See all the colours at airoptix.ca. Met up with my sister for a late lunch before the Converse dinner. She’s really so lovely. Follow her on Twitter or Instagram @jeniestewart. Got the new HISY Selfie bluetooth remote recently. It’s a little black button that connects to your phone via Bluetooth and allows you to take snaps by touching the remote. It’s at the Apple store for $28+tax but you can get it on Amazon here. Love that sunshine on my face.  It’s always fun to look at my eyes as a different colour. These honey ones are a subtle difference. I reckon they’d look really neat on greener eyes and interested to see what they do to blue ones. My latest and greatest Converse from the Andy Warhol Collection. Tomato Soup wasn’t available in my size at the time but I was sent a pair of Black Bean Soup and I love them. Nice to sit beside my old friend Jalani. He’s a great photographer and person, you can find him online at jalanimorgan.com or @JalaniMorgan on Twitter. We were all asked to customize a pair of Converse with our name. This pair is one of a kind and made by me. They’re actually…

Converse | Every Pair of Chucks is Unique

Yesterday  Converse announced the global launch of “Made by you”,  a campaign celebrating fans of the brand (like ME!) who have been expressing themselves and their creativity in Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers for nearly 100 years. I’ll have more to share about this cool campaign and how I’m part of it. See my oldest pair vs. my newest pair of Chucks after the video. Six Word Story: “We’ve been around the world together.” These are my oldest pair, got them at Uni in Australia and have worn them in heaps of countries since. My friend worked at the shoe store in Bondi Beach and we wore Chucks everyday. I drew all over them, I drew all over everything back then. They say ‘Cas&Shazz’ on one side (my first fashion brand), creativity, courage, vav hey vav (Kabbalah reference here), and my friend wrote SLAYER. So many memories. I have about 20 pairs now.  A photo posted by C A S I E S T E W A R T (@casiestewart) on Mar 2, 2015 at 3:18pm PST Converse Chuck Taylor: Did you know… The Chuck Taylor All Star is the most legendary and iconic sneaker of all time.  Over 1 Billion Pairs sold Worn by creative minds throughout the decades, the Chuck Taylor All Star was adopted by the music, fashion and art world as a badge of self-expression The Iconic sneaker has been used as a blank canvas by some of the most innovative fashion designers such as Maison Martin Margiela, Commes Des Garcon, Missoni and John Varvatos Chuck Taylor All Star is more than a sneaker, it’s an idea.  A powerful message that is a blank canvas waiting to be filled. The Artist Project Toronto: Feel It For Yourself

Went to opening night of The Artist Project Toronto last night, one of my fav events of the year. I can’t believe how many friends, artists, and people I knew, it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces. Wore a cute outfit, a see through dress with daisies, and my fav hat from Lack of Colour Australia. I’ve been living in my new platform Vans lately. Have always been a Converse girl but, these little shoes go with everything and they’re so cute. The Artist Project is on all weekend and 100% worth checking out. It’s happening at Better Living Centre, Exhibition Place from April 14-16, and there here are 250+ independent artists. So many nice things to look at. Grab your friends, go on a date, take the whole fam, it’s great. “Explore thousands of artworks, large scale installations, enjoy curator led art tours and take home that special work that truly resonates with you.” The Artist Project Here are a few of my faves from opening night. There was so much to see, this is just a small sliver of all the things to look at. Get a ticket and go. This post isn’t sponsored, I just truly love supporting independent artists and fun events! I came home and blogged it right away so you could know about it! Feel it for yourself. Discover original works of art. A couple of nice pix of us by Ryan Emberley.

Day 198: Love Yourself First

Spent the morning with calls and meetings then went to the 1188 office to work for a bit. I cleaned out my desk there a few weeks ago to de-personalize it, the desks work more like co-working now. People aren’t really coming into the office much these days but if someone needs to for production or a meeting, there’s space. It was so nice and warm out once 3pm hit I had to get outside. I think it’s the last summer0like day we’re gonna have…for a while. Stopped into Visit Zane for a little hangout, Zane is one of my oldest friends in the city. We’re both from Cambridge and used to hang out in high school! Next, I had a margarita in the sun on the Squirly”s patio, read my book a bit, and caught up with an old friend in New Zealand over DM. Forgot I had this great shirt from LX Factory in Lisbon, it says “The love of my life is myself.” You gotta LOVE YOURSELF before you can truly love anyone else. Y’know?! The weather was perfect so I decided to walk back to the house in the Junction Triangle. It was lovely but my feet were not a fan, walking 7km in platform Converse is not recommended. Spotted some Briony street art along the way!

ROLLERCOASTER DAY

Some days I have it all together and others I am just a mess. This morning I woke up and started planning my outfit for Booby Ball on Friday in support of ReThink Breast Cancer. I left the house feeling positive and ready to attend a talk with the Rebel Mamas on talking to kids about cannabis put on by Drug-Free Kids Canada & Aphira. Dropped my stuff off at the office grabbed my ‘Rebel Mama’ clutch and jotted down the street to be there for 11am and GUESS WHAT?! The restaurant said ‘CLOSED’, not like, just for the day, closed as not-yet-a-functioning-establishment-closed. Checked the email again, then the initial DM. Location changed. I could have easily gone to the right location but it was too late now. Or, had I not left the house, I could have casually worked from home until late afternoon. Urghhhhhh. And I stepped in a puddle, in Converse. I’d planned to stop by Dollerama so I went there to get some supplies for Friday’s costume. Grabbed a sandwich. Set up my computer at the office. Stared at the screen. Felt garbadgey. LIFE IS SO EMOTIONAL. I considered going home again but I’ve got hair & makeup for the Fashion heals for Sick Kids show at 5. I stay at the office downtown. Felt distracted. I decided to look into flights to New Orleans for the group trip I’ve been doing for years. Forgot about my Aeroplan miles, booked the trip, only had to pay tax. Put this song on and wow, I feel so much better. I love how a song can change your mood. Sometimes it’s your boyfriend bringing you a cookie from his morning meeting. Sometimes it’s finding an old gift card or remembering travel rewards. I wore a yellow shirt today…

Fashion | #tbt 90s Street Style

A couple years ago Lauren and I were show by Becca Lemire for Pink Mafia with Anna Von. Mica styled us up in this RAD vintage gear, overalls, florals, Versace, bomber jackets, all pared with big glasses and bandanas. It was super fun! I hardly had any tattoos back then, the big one on the inside of my arm is fake. I found one of these photos in a search for pix Loz and I yesterday and wanted to re-live them all. We rolled up this this old school barber shop on Dundas and snapped a few shots in there. The old Pink Mafia office is in a super old building at Bay & Dundas with a cool old elevator and fire escape. The Converse I’m wearing were customized to say ‘Casie’ at a Marcus Troy MMVA event in 2011. I love searching the archives. Can you believe next month is 11 years blogging? DAMNNNN. Time flies when you’re having fun. that’s why you need t document, so you don’t forget.

OMG High On Life! More Hours In The Day, Please?

The last couple weeks have been kinda crazy and I’m feeling like there’s more where it all comes from. Last night’s rehearsal for Army of Sass was AWESOME. I’m stoked for our show. Are you coming? Get a ticket here.  I’m currently working on a slew of things including TWO shows. Ahhh! I feel like I’m constantly rushing around on high speed. I’m dreaming about opening the cottage and relaxing. I’ve got something cool to share with you tomorrow. Tonight I’ve got a dinner with Converse and I’m really looking forward to it. Meeting my sister shortly to shoot something for an upcoming project. It’s like I’ve spent 10 years working my ass off to try and build something and I feel it’s finally coming together. Come Friday after the show I’ll be SO ready for a cocktail to celebrate this week.  This art is by Mr. Brainwash. A good reminder that sometimes you may feel like you’re going the wrong way with your crazy ideas but you should follow them, you have a strong imagination. It will guide you! Here’s to the crazy ones! <3 CASIE

Love Your Life: Shangri-La, Hollywood, Netflix, Art

Remember last week when I went to the Vitamin A show at Shangri-La? Well, I shot the show with my GoPro and posted a video on Instagram as an entry to their contest…and I WON. The prize is amazing! I’ll be visiting the health club and spa at the Shangri-La in Toronto once a month for the next 12 months AND I get a new Vitamin A bathing suit once a month for the next year. Other parts of the prize include a gift basket from L’Oréal and a pendant from Birks. Huzzah! The contest was to post your fav look from the show and when I found out the prize I put some elbow grease into making something great. Here’s my winning entry! In other news, I’ve been playing Kardashian and I made the A-List. I know it’s stupid but it’s also kinda fun. I have a few friends who are also playing and it’s a hoot chatting about it with them over Twitter. Sean can’t understand why I would want to play this game when my real life actually has some similarities to the game. Next weekend we’re flying to Boston t visit friends and I hope to get to NY very soon. Finished The Fall on Netflix and really enjoyed the series. I’m practically a professional binger! Jillian Anderson stars in this BBC thriller. I love watching Criminal Minds and cop dramas so this one was like a really long good episode. There’s only 5 eps in the series. Been walking past these stars on my way to work and finally decided to take their picture. There’s art everywhere! Hope your week is going well. Remember, you’ll never been younger than you are right now so make the most of each day. Heading up to the cottage this weekend and I can’t wait.…

But There Are 365 Days of the Year, Honey!

I have this coffee shop that I regularly pass by on my way to work where the regulars always comment on my shoes. They don’t know anything about me except that I work in the area, so, they nicknamed me ‘Shoes’. One husband said he doesn’t understand why his wife has SO MANY shoes, “she only has two feet!” he said. I was quick witted in my reply,  “but there are 365 days of the year, honey!’. Laughter ensued a the table and throughout the shop.  I left with a smile from ear to ear. Shoeme.ca recently asked me to be an Ambassador and offered me a $150 gift card for the site. In my first visit I was pretty impressed with the prices and selection. I’m all about cute flats for summer so I was stoked to see Keds and Converse. I picked out these two pairs of Keds (as seen on Taylor Swift) and a cute pair of Hush Puppies all for my $150 (shipping included). If you’ve not visited the site you might be offered a discount I’m looking at these leather sandals and these white Converse – Dainty knowing I really do not need them, but… What is it about shoes that makes us feel this way? #Toronto is ready for spring: Check 28 street style shots from Trinity Bellwoods this weekend http://t.co/S69ykVpjNy pic.twitter.com/14ccutcGp0 — FASHION Magazine (@FashionCanada) May 18, 2014 I was wearing these lovely little red & white guys on my birthday in Trinity Bellwoods the other day. Don’t mind that my shoes are a little dirty. I wore them before I had time to take their photo. I love a little summer dress and cute, yet comfortable shoes. Apparently so does she. Lemme tell ya, I feel like Taylor Swift in my new Keds. BTW her campaign is really cute.  🙂 <3…

Don’t You Ever Forget It, Your Awesomeness

This weekend is SPRING CLEANING. I’ve been talking about it with Sean for weeks and since the weather is URGHH, I’ve decided to make the most of it my making our house more ‘home’. I was really stoked to open the cottage but safety takes the cake and a freezing rain warning is enough to put a stop to us going North.  Today I destroyed a disaster that had been piling up and organized my entire wardrobe. Took three bag of clothes to Value Village (VV Boutique) and didn’t hold back. I find purging my stuff is addictive, I start to care less and less about ‘things’ and if I need to, I take photos to remember. They take up less space. Online storage is cheaper than a unit too! Threw out a lambskin leather jacket from Holt’s I’ve been ‘planning to fix’ for two years, I hope someone great finds it. How great is this shirt from Bow& Drape? Who wants one? You can actually make your own but mine is so freaking sweet! It’s sequins actually! Stumbled upon this brand randomly (Pinterest?) and got this stunna. Found these babies when I was cleaning along with a TON of other jewellery. Good luck, good rings, good reminders. I was trying not to have a heart attack the last few days because I ‘misplaced’ the vintage Tiffany’s silver pearl necklace Sean got me for Christmas, but I found it. Thank god, I can’t even. Took the EmBot to Target, she loves Target? I’m not realllly sure why. Her boots were dirty and gross so I told her I’d get her new kicks. She picked these Converse style ones like me. Gave her this Blue Jays hat and she wanted to wear it to the side. I didn’t style her but how freaking…

2013 Chevy Camaro Convertable in California

We had so much fun cruising around in the 2013 Chevy Camaro Convertable in California. We randomly decided to get a rental once we got to the hotel and I’m so GLAD they had this. It was $25 more per day than a compact car  from Hertz and so totally worth it! You deff need a car in LA. I can’t imagine being on vacation or living there without a car. I loved hitting the open road and driving to the beach, top down of course. I loved Venice Beach the most. It reminded me so much of where I lived in Bondi Beach in Australia. Did you know that the real Abbot Kinney was a tobacco millionaire who founded it in 1905? Oh the things you learn on Wikipedia.

Boyfriend Style – Hamilton Watch Skeltonized Caliber

Meet my new partner, Hamilton retro men’s watch. It’s quite sexy. New style in their viewmatic series, officially called “The Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic Skeleton”. Caliber has automatic movement, exclusive to Hamilton and this one is on a leather strap. I love watches as bracelets, I check my phone so often I don’t need a watch to tell time.  About a year ago I had a different, smaller Hamilton Watch, it was on long-term loan. I loved it. Before going to NY last week I stopped by the Swatch Canada head office to pick up two great new watches. This photo reminds me I need new white Converse. Check out all the wicked watch styles from Hamilton here. Have a stellar day! <3 CASIE

OCD Packing Travel Style

OCD packed a suitcase. Suitcase broke. Do you do this too? Five pairs of shoes 2.5 days, about right! Two pairs of Jeffrey Campbells, Sperry’s, Converse & MK thongs. New NellaBella bag, the ‘Avalon’ is perfect for my Macbook. All my outfits have been from 3F. Long black maxi dress on the plane, blue bell bottoms & yellow stripes last night, today khakis & navy ruffle tank. It fits both Dell Ultrabook & Macbook Air, not that I often take them both but one day last weekend I did. I went a little crazy on the NellaBella when I stopped by last week.  This the Moscow was my carryon. It expands so you can fit a heap of stuff in it. Or, if you are like me and gather all kinds or pack in a rush, super handy. It’s PRIDE week in Toronto. I’m missing the parade this year for the first time in the last 7 years so head up north and see the Tragically Hip, Death Cab For Cutie, New Pornographer’s & Rural Alberta Advantage on Canada Day. I reckon a break from the city hustle will be good!

Style Picks for Summer Sunnies – Sixties Summer Love

Was at the beach this weekend soaking up sunshine and taking in the breeze from the lake . I’m so ready for summer to get here.  Sunnies are the best accessory a girl can have, after sunscreen. I recently picked out three styles that I totally love: cat eye, high fashion, and vintage feel. They were gifts, thanks Lumette and Clearly Contacts.   Took these photos yesterday, enjoy! Derek Cardigan Sun 7005 – Brown Tortoiseshell – $59.00 Cat eye is so hot right now. I love pin-up girl style, they remind me of the 60’s. A fav style of Nicole Richie and designs by Tom Ford. These ones are designed by Derek Cardigan from Vancouver, I interviewed him a couple weeks ago. Lumette, Vedrina – Storm Cloud – $220.00 Based in NY, Lumete is a fav of  Dita Von Teese. Sunglasses are handmade and the lenses are hard coated CR39 to avoid scratches. The hard clutch case is shaped like a butterfly.  These ones are so beautiful & stylish. Perry Ellis Demi Blonde – $135.00  These ones remind me of a vintage pair of Ferrari glasses I had years ago.  They’re a  an aviator shape with greenish grey lenses. Frame is  tortoise acetate and matte gold metal. Top – Audrey from Bicyclette, Jeans – Cheap Monday from Peacock Parade, Converse ‘Dainty’ in Banana ♥ Make love, not war ♥

Carnegie Hall Show at Second City

Last night a friend and I caught The National Theatre of The World’s monthly presentation of the Carnegie Hall show. It was funny. The only non-funny part was when I yelled out Carly Rae Jepson when they asked for a name but they didn’t get it.The potential for LOLs was there! They had it! I love the B&W photos of all the comedians who’ve been part of Second City over the years. John Candy was my fav, what a great Canadian. The show is made of working comedians, MATT BARAM (Second City), CHRIS GIBBS (The British one), RONALD PEDERSON (Mad TV), and NAOMI SNIECKUS (Mr. D, Second City). They’re Canadian Comedy Award winners for Best Improv Troupe three years running. Way to go guys! Notice my name? Let me remind you the entire world, It’s Casie not Cassie. I made a cartoon about it once, remember? Thanks heaps for great seats. We had a fun time and lots of laughs. I was totally into the acrobatics show in the cube. She’s performing at Torture Garden this summer too. Mokuuba leather, H&M flower top, Cheap Monday jeans, Converse, Nella Bella bag

Adventure & Discovery, Yes Please

Was recently introduced to Palladium boots/shoes by a contact in NYC. They just launched a brand new slim collection so when the email came in, I totally wanted a pair.  Palladium is a French company founded in 1920 to make tires for the aviation industry. I think that’s neat. One thing that really resonated with me is that for almost a century, Palladium Boots have been about adventure and discovery.  Two things I love about life. These are my new glasses by Canadian Derek Cardigan for Clearly Contacts, you like? The Palladium Slim Collection retails from $70-$100and is available at palladiumboots.com In Canada you can get them online or in select retails stores in Ontario & Quebec (I have the list if you are keen). Digging the low-profile version of their classic style,  perfect for this time of year. I picked two of my fav styles & this is why I think they’re cool: Design elements – rubber outsole and toe cap, in slimmed down versions. Feature premium materials – cotton/hemp blend textile & premium-grade leather (Adds character!) Leather shoes w/ Repreve lining – green fabric made of recycled yarn, wicks moisture away from the foot (so good for summer). All shoes (this collection) have an extra thick cushioned sock liner for cozy comfort under your foot. EXCITING PART FOR YOU: The Slim Chukkas in Pool Blue are a little big for me so I’d love to send them to someone special with a size 6 feet. They fit a little big, I’m usually a 5.5-6 (Ex. Docs, Converse) so if you have a 6-7, they’re totally you. Product specs:  FOXING: Jute espadrille-style foxing. SOCKLINER: Super thick molded PU creates a super comfortable stepping ground. MATERIALS: Premium cotton and help upper. 😉 LINING: Repreve ® certified recycled yarn is used to weave the Dri-Lex ® lining that wicks moisture and keeps the feet…

SXSW: SUNSHINE & STYLE

It’s seriously hard to sneak away and spend time with computer! Things are going great. Met so many wonderful people. Wore this super cute new shirt from Billabong yesterday with banana yellow Converse. I wish I had a bike to get around in. I want to drive down in a camper van next year. It’s not like this is impossible, as I know quite a few people who go on road trips and camping trips in a camper and it seems like it is so much easier for them. So if you’re thinking to buy camper trailers in Adelaide (location varies depending on where you live), then be sure to do your research before making a decision. I also would like to go to Burning Man one day. I was digging this style of showing off your product. Bikes & babes, nice one guys. I love cruising the conference floor for a lap each day. Had some bevvys with Team New Zealand from Sydney’s TBWA office. Good people. Super fun! Lauren was wearing all new Billabong too. I really want new tattoos. Everyone here has tattoos. There are so many babes. Projeqt is very cool 😉 I really should have brought the ‘casie stewart’ shirts. Kate was lookin’ super cute. If you see Keek stickers or glitter, it was me. Happy weekend! Did you enjoy your Leap Year Day? Getting geared up for March? The other day Casie blogged about the SS 12 preview for Converse, and mentioned their collaboration with the Gorillaz. I thought it then only appropriate to post the Converse sponsored music video for “DoYaThing” by Gorillaz  featuring James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and Andre 3000 of OutKast. See if you can stop the new kicks in the clip… http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=yNeF30RverQ Enjoy! xo Kate

Upcoming posts &…
