All The Girly Things Post on a Sunny Friday

First things first, HAPPY FRIDAY! Started my day with some work and an amazing croissant from Cafe Neon in my hood. I’m all out of Tassimo so ventures out into the cold sunshine to treat myself. I really love working from home and for myself. It’s been about six months and I’ve got myself a schedule. I can’t wait till summer when my schedule means staying up at the cottage during the week here and there and morning coffee on the dock after kayaking. I’ve started a new subscription with NextIssue, the Netflix of magazines and I love it. I spend so much time on my phone, and love magazines, but buying heaps and carrying them around is not practical for me. What great thing would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?

I had a great day yesterday. I haven’t taken the subway for a while. It’s different taking the subway during work hours. I always wonder what everyone is doing. I don’t mind the streetcar, I don’t like the underground. I used to write TTC Tales (last one 2012) when I took the TTC to work. At one time, I travelled about an hour each way to work. I made a few videos about TTC loudtalkers after that. I wouldn’t make those videos now, social media wasn’t as popular back then. Heading easton the Bloor Line; try not to make eye contact. Look out the window, look out window. There’s a young guy with his sunglasses on playing golf on an iPad. I can’t see if he has a bag…is just carrying the thing? I smell hot food. It’s not McDonalds. Doors open. Please don’t let someone gross sit beside me… Went to the Trinity Bellwoods Farmers Market yesterday to pick up some green goodness. The market is on each Tuesday in the summer from 3-7pm. I was so hungry that I started chomping on lettuce leaves as I walked down Dundas. It was delicious. I can only imagine what I looked like walking down the street eating leafy greens. 🙂 Passed this house on Dovercourt, as I so often do and asked on Twitter if anyone had seen inside it. Have you? August, Sweet Summer

Weekend photo diary… on Saturday I was grumpy. Love this new lip paint from essence, it’s SO GOOD. Just it in in NY last week. It’s from the new fall collection. We finally made that airplane Porter gave me. Flew it around a bit. Had a nice family walk. Love this little robot on Queen Street. New fav bar in the hood is called Roux. West on Dudas near Keele. Found this cool portrait project from NY called Humans of New York while I was creeping Catherine’s Twitter. Photos are all done by Brandon Stanton. He also writes stories. I love stories. Rediscovered this cool web app that shows you Google maps in interactive polar panorama images. Queen Street West, Toronto – Trinity Bellwoods Nasty Gal Accessories page girl. I might be obsessed with NG. I found these cool painted records on their blog yesterday. In Other News: As long as the world does not end in 2012, I will be online for the next ten years. AT LEAST! First Class Ticket to Capitol Hill

Snapped this last night just before my talk at The Working Group. The sun sets so beautifully on Queen Street West. I love Toronto. I thought I was going to miss my train this morning. Luckily, I thought it was at 6am but it was really at 6:40am so I had more than enough time. Unfortunately I rushed out of the house and my luggage is all smushed in a bad and I only have two pairs of shoes. TRAGEDY! The platform was cold and dark but I sat down in my first class seat and went back to sleep. Sitting on the train to Ottawa now with Gabrielle Miller (Corner Gas/Call Me Fitz), Gail McInnes (TDot TV), and Cory Lee (Degrassi). We’ve got rehearsals this afternoon for tomorrow’s “Runway for a Better Way” charity show in support of Unicef. Cory and I are wearing Canadian designer Rachel Sin who’s an architect turned fashion designer. I slept most of the way here. Last time I took the train it was meant to be a short little ride but we got stuck by flooding or snow and I made this video; 420 consecutive photos, one train ride. Via Rail won’t let you watch videos or “download big files” so I’m unable to embed it. One of my most fav things I’ve ever created. I’d love to make a new one on the way home Monday. There was a Zombie Girl on my money last night. I hear a limo is picking us up when we arrive then we head to rehearsals for 1pm. At 2pm I’ve have an interview for a book about Canadian media. I put everything through the “Casie Stewart: this is my life” test which is heaps of use and lots of wear. I’m REALLY great at testing products, especially electronics & clothes. (HINTY HINT) The things about Docs is they last forever. The shop on Queen Street kindly replaced my pair with a shiny new set of boots. When Fall rolls around I’ll be rockin’ them with that sexy leather jacket I picked up from Holts during the Crystal Light Challenge. You know I love Gaga. I’ve told you a bunch of times before. Remember the MMVAs last year? Kingi from Peach Berserk made me a custom dress with all the big performers on it: Bieber, Katy, Drake, Miley. I was excited. I worked with some really great people at Much & MTV last year, the MMVA experience is very memorable. My job was Social Media Queen and it was super fun to say the least. Blog post from MMVA Day 2010 is here. I’ve got a couple things planned for MMVA weekend this year. One is a party w/ Gaga’s DJ, Lady Starlight. 🙂 Starlight will be rocking The Velvet Underground (510 Queen St West) after the MMVA’s June 19 in Toronto. Doors open at 11. I have a list. Went to a private little shindig at Bucker’s Toronto store the other day. Say hello to Buckler PR girl, the famous April Wozny. Hot. Yeah you, boy who wears this. Total sucker for a cardigan. Won’t even talk stance. Yes. Yes please, socks and shorts and you again, with the hoodie this time. You look hot. This cardigan is perfect for me (to steal from future boyfriend). I have one pair of Buckler undies (man ones) and they are so comfortable. They look so hot on boys, girls you should get a pair for your man. TRUST ME.
