Here we go, couple great fashion stories yesterday! I also had my hair done. Stopped into The Loft, Queen West and decided it was time to ditch the violet and bring back blonde. I love the decor in there, it’s all vintage and charming, the furniture,  old trunks, china plates, brass fixtures. Reminds me of Mum’s house growing up. I’m heading back there Friday afternoon for a Dermalogica facial. I’m addicted, I’ve been getting them on a regular basis for a year now. The collection comes out April 19th AND Target Tweeted me IT’S COMING TO CANADA. I’m so stoked. I can’t WAIT to redo our rooftop patio and spice up the cottage Palm Beach Style. I’ve reached out to my friends at Target to see if I can get involved or at least front of the line on opening day. Read more about the collection in the release from Target here. Chalk this on the life goals board! Author, fashion icon, and one time Vogue editor Joan Didion was named as the new face of Céline at 80. You’re never too old to have great style! I love that they’ve made this decision. Read more about it on Vogue or anywhere else that reports fashion. In other news, The Biebs is the latest to join the ranks of notable celebs to post for Calvin Klein. He’s all grown up and totally catching some heat for the campaign but mostly because some of the shots look weird. Where You Land is Where I’m Gonna Be

Was all decked out in pastels this weekend. I really love my hair this colour. Thinking I’ll go back to blonde for spring but it’s gotta get a bit longer. Growing out your hair from a pixie takes real dedication. Slept half the weekend and feel great today.  Had some time with friends and got some Christmas shopping in. Can’t wait till see all my family on Wednesday. Mum is hosting a huge group for dinner including my Dad and his wife.  It’s gonna be great! Have you heard this song in the Walmart commercial? I love it, Paper Planes by East of Avenue. Was created by a TO agency. We kept singing it whenever the commercial came on and Sean learned to play it on guitar this weekend. Title is a line from it. Where You Land is Where I’m Gonna Be How cute is this little Christmas Mini! It’s got pressies and lights (kinda hard to see the lights but we were driving!).  I love all the lights on everything this time of year. Sean told me he’ll have the hugest display of lights when we get a bigger house/yard and I fell in love all over again. Timed to music too. What a dreamboat! Discovered a new app this weekend called Shift that allows you to create filters and it’s kinda net. Spiced up this photo of Queen West (it’s $0.99). Will be at the Gladstone Hotel tonight teaching a class on blogging in their new Get School’d series. I believe it’s sold out but if you are interested in coming, lmk. After today I’m going to really try and take a break from my phone and laptop. I doubt I’d be able to digital detox without being at a beach, I can’t go a day without my phone. I can barely go…

Hey Ho Holidays! Wig out, Wear a Onesie, Smile!

We had Sean’s holiday party 1188 x Revolver Films X Bon Bon Mag on Thursday last week and come Friday I was so tired. This weekend I was getting ready to host a few friends over for a holiday hangout & secret Santa. We set up a photo booth and it was so much fun. Nothing like good times with great friends. I’ll have photos from both soon. Stopped into Philistine on Queen West, one of my fav stores. They burn these great cedar incense that remind me of the cottage each time I walk in. They have a huge selection of clothes, accessories, and I’ve snagged a few goodies from the sale rack. Spotted these tea cups at The Bristol at The Great Hall. Picked up meat pies for everyone at 1188 last the other day and thought they were so pretty. This art had been on the wall here for a while now. Makes me think about how much I’ve grown/changed. There’s been some neat experiences the last few years that have really shaped the person I am now. This is a bit of a ramble post. I blog to remember so it’s important I write things down, ok! Painted some pineapples and added glitter for my table display this weekend, Thanks Pinterest! Here’s a good article about Pinterest vs Real Life. It’s what happened when a woman tried to live the ‘Pinterest life’ for a week. Some learns, some fails, very exhausting. This was me at the end of the party on Sunday. Wig out, wearing a onesie with a smile. I’m pretty excited to see my family over the holidays too, Mum is hosting about 30 for Christmas dinner. It’s gonna be awesome! There’s a nice display in this gallery on Queen West near Strachan. Take a peek if you’re cruising the hood. I tried to convince  my beardy BF to let me do this to his beard this weekend. If you look up ‘flower beard’ on tumblr there are so many cute beardy boys w/ flowers in their beards. I guess we have the flower crown trend to thanks for these dreamboats! Rise of the Beard Garden – Daily Mail, UK Look at this face! Would it not look so dreamy with flowers? He’s going to see this and be like, “YOU ARE CRAZY. NO FLOWER BEARD!” hahaha. Love you! This is my latest phone case creation w/ Nuvango (my work formerly known as GelaSkins). I got a friend to send me a sample of marble and have made the design available for anyone to order.  I created a gorgeous skin for my Macbook that looks like marble too. It’s pretty! Where do all the deleted selfies go? I often take a few to get a good one then delete the handful of garbage ones where one eye is closed or my hair is blowing ratchet in the wind. This selfie is one I was gonna delete until I started thinking about a selfie graveyard and then I purchased deletedselfies.ca. That’s all for now. Hope you are enjoying the day. Pop Up Perrier – Playground Party Photos!

Last week the Burroughs Building on Queen West was host to Pop Up with Perrier, a playground themed party for grownups. I worked with Community Agency to invite some of my closes friends, media, and socialites from the city to come out and get down. The 5th floor was filled with green lights, old school arcade games, ping pong, and more. Photo credit to Ryan Emberley for these great shots. My fav was Grey Goose, Perrier, watermelon mint. Can someone let me know when & where there are available? I need a case for the cottage! On the second night I wore my all over print Ryan Gosling shirt and it was a hit. People were taking photos of it all night. About Town w/ the New HTC One

It’s been one week with the new HTC One and I can say two things, I’ve never been stopped so much for someone to look at a device and I don’t really miss my iPhone. I’ve literally been stopped (by dudes mostly) in the elevator, at Target, at bars, and at dinner, just to show it off and have them touch it. It’s a good feeling. I took all these  photos with my new HTC One over the last couple days. The front facing cam on this baby is out of this world, you’ve never had selfies so fresh. There’s a couple photo skills I’m working on but overall, this is the best phone camera I‘ve ever had. Last week I went to a training session and it was super cool to learn about the technology behind this little guy. The pixels are bigger than other phone cameras which makes the images clearer.  All the apps and features on the phone come with sharing options, so, for someone like me who is a Tweets, blogs, and creates heaps of content, it’s perfect. Community Service

On Friday, March 1, some of the girls from Community Agency and I cleaned up Trinity Bellwoods Park over lunch. If you don’t know it, Bellwoods is in the heart of Queen West, between Strachan and Bathurst. It’s one of my fav places to hang out in the summer or bike through with friends. If you search ‘Bellwoods’ on my blog there are heaps of entries! March 1st was YWCA’s Big Day of Change, a Canada-wide day of action for young women to do something good in their community. Friday this week is International Women’s Day (IWD), an annual commemoration that began in the early 1900s. Our ‘Community Service’ was organized by my friend & Copy Writer Carlimia. She was featured on She Does The City earlier in the week with 12 women who organized events to make positive change. Thanks to Becca Lemire for snapping some shots too.   We had so much fun doing this together that we want to make Community (Agency) Service a regular thing. It felt so great to be outside in the sunshine at the park again. I can’t WAIt for Spring/Summer to be out in the warm air. Luckily daylight savings isn’t far away! I found ten cents yesterday. This is my two cents.

I love Instagram. It made me think different. More creative. That’s why I like it. I found new, inspiring people and I like to see their photos. See how they look at life, through their lens, through a different filter.  I have been publishing for about a decade and have thousands of photos on the Internet. I’ve had my smile photo used in a Facebook ad (total surprise!), a photo of me as a bot (read that story here), and  TBH I don’t really mind if my fav bar wants to share my photos beside a Molson ad or on a billboard. A LOT of awesome things have happened from me sharing freely. If you want to own everything, write a blog. If you want to create, make great things and share them. I feel like Internet years are dog years. I’ve been meeting young bloggers more lately and I feel Internet old. I’m up for a Lifetime Achievement Award for christs sake! (Thanks for the Nom guys!) I’ve found myself saying “back in the old days of blogging/social/2.0 things were/it was like [ insert something with no rules, regs, or privacy concerns]. BTW, OOTD on that old Instagram of Queen West is Overgram single photo edit x4, with Diptic collage. It’s more about what you are doing than where you are sharing it. Ok bye. Have a great day.

I’m kinda in love with you Brandy Melville.

Welcome to my new fav Queen West hot lil’ spot. Look at all those signs! Need the Queen West one for the office.  The shop is right in the heart of my neighbourhood at Queen/Spadina and completely filled with everything I enjoy wearing. This is the FIRST Brandy Melville store in Toronto (from LA). These are the things I got; skull scarf, girl tank, aztek change purse, John Galt flower print backpack. I am in LOVE LOVE with new backpack. I actually stalked it online for days, almost ordering, and today I GOT IT. That’s US, the big smoke! The Brandy shop is online at @brandymelvilleC and instagram at @brandymelvillecanada. I posted a few photos to each platform. I feel a shop and drop addiction coming on…drop all plans, shop for everything. Asked them about doing a holiday giveaway, so will keep you posted on that! Goodby Dailybooth, I loved you for years.

Today Twitter announced they’ll be allowing us (users) to download our ENTIRE TWEET HISTORY before the New Year. For me, that’s almost 100,000 tweets! I’ve been publishing the Internet for almost a decade and it’s hard to imagine all the things I’ve posted. This month, Dailybooth, the OG photo sharing service that helped kick off this thing we call ‘social media’ announced they are shutting down. If you have photos on DB you can DL them until Dec. 31, 2012. After that, they’ll be gone. Dailybooth was THE original photo sharing service  when Twitter  came out.  I posted a photo of myself nearly every single day from January 2009-January 2012. The photo updated to the top right corner of my blog showing a new face each day. I hardly had any tattoos back then, nobody had a million followers, and ‘social media’ wasn’t a ‘thing’…yet. It was the experience I loved most about DB. Logging in and seeing familiar faces, comments, making friends.  I hung out w/ Zolloc (Hayden), my friend from Dailybooth for the first time IRL about a month ago. We’d known each other for years. He was visiting Toronto for Nuit Blanche so I showed him around my fav hood, Queen West and Trinity Bellwoods.  The community at Dailybooth was always so positive. This news made me sad. Why do I feel so romantic about a photo sharing service? I took all 756 photos, added music and made a massive vid with them all. The video is coming soon. It’s five minutes of Casie, five whole minutes. Observations? I make a lot of different faces, I wear a lot of hats (actual hats), I travel, I don’t get sick often, I smile most days, I like to have fun. It brought back so many memories. I forgot heaps of people, places, things,…
