I’ve covered, attended and spoken at some of the greatest conferences in the world including CES in Vegas, SXSW in Texas, the International Auto Show in Detroit, New Zealand Fashion Week, and Toronto Fashion Week, Social Media Week, NXNE, She’s Connected and Canadian Music Week in Canada.

As a daily content creator, I would LOVE to attend & cover Banff International Media festival 2012. I have never been out West so I’m super keen to get out there for something inspiring and in my field of work.

I promise to deliver you the best content, news and information from the heart of the conference in the beautiful Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Earlier this year I gave you up to the minute photos, videos, Tweets and blog posts from SXSW & CES so you now you can count on me to be the best Banff Blogger in the world.

Some elements I will cover as YOUR Banff Blogger are:

Keynotes & Featured Interviews:

There are a pile of speakers I have in my schedule, ones not to be missed are the opening keynote by Paul Lee, President of ABC and a conversation with Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre.

Larry King, yes THE LARRY KING is being presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. In a 45 minute talk, Mr. King will  he reflects on his amazing body of work and the state of the rapidly changing media industry.

Past honourees of the Lifetime Achievement Award include Sir David Attenborough, Sir Jeremy Isaacs, Edward Asner, Sheila Nevins and the one and only, William Shatner.

nextMEDIA: There is a ton of great sessions in this series!

  • Tapping into Brand Dollars – As a branded content creator I’m very interested in learning about building content that brands & agencies want, approaching agency/client partners and tips on successful engagement.
  • Social Television: Ways To Engage – This was a big thing when I worked for MuchMTV. We were always looking for ways to make TV more social and connect with the audience. One of my colleagues Darren Pereira is on this panel!

In partnership with MediaCom Canada, nextMEDIA presents the Digital Launch Pad. This is right up my alley! The Digital Launch Pad is all about seeking out and showcasing the newest & hottest from content creators around the globe. It’s hosted by Canadian media queen Shira Lazar. I met her and caught her show What’s Trending at CES in Vegas, she’s awesome!

I love this aspect of the conference! I’ve never experienced it before. BANFF 2012 features quick one-on-one meetings with influential people in the world of media. Attendee’s have the option to book booking face-to-face meetings, breakfast, lunch or cocktails leading executives from around the world. How cool is that?! I’d love to meet Nicole De Fusco from Sundance Channel, Jason Ropell from Netflix, and Tessa Sproule from CBC.

I’ll be staying here!
