LOMO ARIGATO.

Got a new camera today! Say helloooo to my new  SPROCKET ROCKET! Flash has my middle name. 🙂 Pretty stoked to shoot with this baby, gonna be interesting. The Lomography shop Queen West invited me in to be on one of their Lomo Magazine LomoAmigos. GRACIAS! Other Amigos include Elijah Wood, surfer Candice O´Donnell, actress Amber Tamblyn, and David Arquette. See them here. They have so many cameras in the shop. Beautiful space, nice hard wood floor. I want a ring, camera flash light ring. I picked the black one of these (boring I know!). Thought about the neon yellow but I like my equipment to match.  TBH, it’s HARD to take photos with a non-digital. I told Jane at the shop “I’m about to find out how ‘good’ of a photographer I am”. I’m going for Borderline Artistic style, we’ll see what we get. These (blog) photos were taken w/ phone cam, Motorola DEFY. Went mobile for a change this morning. Cruisin’ on bike in the rain isn’t really time for the PEN. Took a bunch of shots during the day with the Rocket, gonna drop off my film tomorrow and see how we turn out with the first round. Wish me luck!

yesterday was a really fun day

An old friend visited and we measured our balcony for synthetic grass. Would I have the coolest condo balcony everrrrr? Yes. I reckon we would. If you interested I can intro you to Joe. He’s a nice dude, The GrASS Man. Then I went to 1188 Films to work on an Angry Birds commercial. Yes, the worlds most best selling mobile game. I also stole the MAYORSHIP which is pretty freaking amazing. Stamped myself with their bank stamp, I’M MONEY GUYS! It was a very Queen Westy day for me. Walked from Spadina/Gardener to 1188 Queen (near Gladstone) and back home again stopping at a few places along the way. This warm weather makes me feel just like a child and I wanna play outside all day. Reminds me of a song by my friend Devendra. Press play & keep reading! Got ma hair did at Darren Kwik Studio (I’m Mayor there too NBD). Beautiful spot right across from Trinity Bellwoods. Hipster discount if you tell him you’re my friend on the internet (or IRL). Call him @ 416-361-1016 right MEOW. He’ll take real nice care of you. SALON PLANK. Darren was teaching a class after me and his student was a STUD. Ladies, I can hook you up 😉 Post hair stopped into Melagro for some Mexican upstairs at La Perla. I can’t WAIT to have a event/party here. Place is stunning & upstairs roof patio is a GEM. (Jarvis have you been there yet?) Cute boy(s) & girl(s) work there too. Think I got some sun. Everybody’s free to wear sunscreen (Baz Luhrmann). Food was good. Look at this queso! LA PERLA PLANK.

you read it in the newspaper, ask your girlfriends and see if they know

Had ice cream at Ed’s Real Scoop in the Beaches today. Chocolate & homemade. So good.  I useally go for chocolate, nothing to fancy or with accessories. Carly gave me the great suggestion. Y’know Carly? She’s my friend/agent/blondetourage blog babe who moved to Florida last year and she’s COMING BACK this week. Yay. Gonna go driving to this album tomorrow. So many good songs. I was creeping Jack White… Did you know he is Scottish, Polish and Canadian descent. He’s quite fascinating if you don’t already know. This was a funny comic to get today, right after a wedding and all. Cheryl & Jared  had cheesecake. It was good. Tonmorrow I’m checking out all the nerdy tech stuff  about this Ford Fusion.  Maybe a car wash too. I have the Fusion Sport, black leather interior, 2.5L.  Fun car to drive.  I really like cars. Grew up hanging in the garage with Dad.  He builds hot rods. Had his own shop in Cambridge when I was growing up, “Toys for Boys”. Saw this today and thougt of you Dad. The Beaches are so pretty. Reminds me of where I grew up. Old houses, tall trees, narrow streets, sidewalk stairs, front porch. If I had a car full time I reckon I could live in the East End. (OMG, did I just say that?)  Queen West hipsters move to the East End when they grow up right? haha Would be rad to build/reno an old house here.  Fantastzed about that today, my car, my house, my street. I see my house and so can you. Dude at Amsterdam said this building on left is going to be a Loblaws. Saw a super old pic & Loblaws has owned it since before any other this stuff was built. I need to change the…

the more we get together the happier we’ll be

Ran into a friend at my fav shop yesterday. The new Queen/Spadina Maccas is really nice looking. I’d like to do something in the upstairs space, I wonder if they let kids like me have birthday parties there? They have super hero toys right now too. I was temped to ask what other ones they have and buy them cause we used to do that when I was a kid. I didn’t. We have HEAPS of toys in the basement at Mum’s house. An amount so masssive it borders hoarders. NO lie. There’s heaps of bright colourful grafitti in this city. I really hope Mr. Ford doesn’t continue with his plan to cover it all up. That would be not cool. I think it looks so nice, the street art. Have you walked down all the alleys Queen West? Great for photos on warm summer days. I’m stoked for summer to get here. Need to get my bike fixed up, she needs a full makeover at a body shop. The top right window has flowers in it. Bright & pretty. This week is gonna be really busy. Full calendar, lots of work. I’m watching Dude Where’s my Car on ipad Netflix right now & working. I used to totally love this movie. One time, I was coming home from NZ and from LAX to YYZ Sean William Scott (Stiffler) was on our plane. Dude, sweet I know. Jenie & I really wanted to meet him so I touched up my makeup and gathered the courage to approach him. I was about 18 at the time. I walked up to first class and went to use the bathroom but the attendant said no. SWS caught my eye when I walked back towards my seat and I totally saw him check out…

hey there school girl

Leather jacket, sweet ride. I rarely ever take TTC. I noticed that today. I pretty much walk everywhere. I stay in my neighbourhood heaps. I need to tune up my bike. Anyone have a hook up? I have a varity of talents for barter. Seeing a pack of cops will forever remind me of the G20. Google “casie stewart riot girl“. I hope I never have to be in a situation like that again. Running through the streets soaking wet, people were being detained and arrested, cops everywhere in riot gear, riots. No,  thank you. Last time I was here I was in American Pie Beta House. I like this campus. It’s really pretty and old. I walked home after. It was pretty warm out. You are beautiful Jessica. sunshine | motorola milestone | me to we beaded heart | capezio cowboy boots | steve madded dress (raymi) | nella bella change purse | motorola milestone telus | jean jacket, queen west clothing swap | jessica’s scarf (she has mine) | rabbit fur, ruby NZ | leather jacket | smile ipad | moleskine style bamboo dodo case | croissant | americano this view is very creepy to me. haha. hey there jessica and some speakers. one guy looks like he’s late, eh? It was really fun talking to all the students and other speakers at U of T Mississauga. Thanks for having me. Remember kids, BE AWESOME, and follow me on twitter. Today I am at Centennial College in the morning and St. Lawrence Market for St. Patty’s day in the arvo. Kinda feel super busy but then I think I would be bored if it was any other way.  I so often wish I didnt have to sleep so I could work on stuff all the time.  Things are…

during business hours athlete + after hours athlete

Can I get a workout? Hell yeah. You know this place and this babe. business hours athletes: blog, workout, tweet, blog, smile, rinse repeat. Was nice to see Rosa Park arrive at The Motion Room to shoot this for The Globe & Mail. Video/article will be out in about a month. Bloggers vs  newspaper = massive time difference in posting content. This is a sneak peek from the Puma After Hours Athlete spot we shot Friday night. SO much fun. The team at 1188 was awesome to work with. Can’t wait to see/show you the final product. Actual event/party is March 10th. I absolutely love being on camera as a host of something cool. My goal this year is to do more video. My sister was a really great help as my assistant/wrangler. Very important job, really awesome way to gain experience about film/TV/producing. These are my new boots, Tretorn Skerry Resling, a tall alternative to the Tretorn favorite. Jenie & I had matching pink/red, blue/green Puma jackets that kept us pretty warm. I love wearing matching outfits. I’m sure that stems from all my years in dance (3-13). I so would love this one piece sailing gear from Puma. I would love to get it for you Mum. Part of being an after hours athlete involves dim lights, cold beverages and high fives. Met this giant rocking a v neck, Freddie Mercury hair and this waxed out stache. Dad used to have a friend with a hot rod who had one of those massive waxed staches. I do not remember his name or this guy’s name either. Ran in to the lovely Jess & Maram in the hood aka Queen West aka the place you will alwasy run into someone. It’s a scene like every day of the week. Jess make sure you email me about our…

halloween: this social scene ain’t broken

Welcome aboard Virgin America Halloween Flight 31, my name is Casie Stewart your VX Provocateur. Our in flight entertainment tonight is Toronto’s own Broken Social Scene and they’re playing live. You ready for takeoff? Show was at Queen West hipster hot spot Parts & Labour. Nice choice. Show was rad. Perfect Virgin America mood lighting. We were chatting this babe in the bathroom about her dress and little did we know that she was a band member. Guy with hood is a babe too. Lady Gaga telephone hat & costume was so well made. Hat was quite heavy. Deff needs long hair, looks silly on me. You know this fine fox, Courtney Love otherwise known as Raymi the Minx. This fine Queen & ruler of Egypt is my sister Jenie. LOVE YOU. Total babes. BTW food at P&L is great. Meat table + cheese FTW. Kate Killet is a kyooooote kitteh. Say hello to Kate from Virgin America and her red wig. Totes on brand 😉 Great to see the VX peeps. They are all so cool, honestly, I am so happy to have met them and totally stoked for the next year of awesomeness. Look out Toronto. Bathrooms at P&L have the weirdest mirrors. So hard to really get a good look at your outfit. Best costume of the night, Adam & Eve. Scariest costume of the night, this guy. AAAAAAAAAAHH. Liked these guys, bloody butchers with muscles. Mmmm. Enjoyed these too. Heh heh got your nose! BTW my PROVOCATEUR biz cards are realy and should be arriving soon. Oh yeah. “Fool! Don’t you see now that I could have poisoned you a hundred times had I been able to live without you.” Cleopatra True love right here. I love the blurry ones. Raymi, Jenie & I had a freaking…

that’s a creative way of looking at it. nice hire.

I used to live and hang out in Queen West. The Hipsterville of Toronto. I met lots of hipsters from all over the globe, saw heaps of style and had hipster friends. We’d stay up late at secret hangouts with cool people, bands and models. I was skinny from partying/sleeping and I stayed out late on school nights. Hipsters often wear American Apparel and may be seen reading carrying Vice Magazine. I started reading Vice in Bondi Beach, 2004. I loved it. Bondi had the best style, boy or girl, they all had it. In 2005 American Apparel hired Lauren Phoenix to model tube socks and underwear. I remember getting that issue, she was on the back. It said “Meet Lauren Phoenix…….Look her up on Google. I wanted to know how she got her photo on a magazine and why to Google her. So I Googled and I’ve loved AA & Vice advertising ever since!! Not just because she’s a Toronto born Canadian pornographic actress who you may have seen in adult movies on https://www.hdpornvideo.xxx/?hl=ar, but because AA has made their socks really popular since then. I’m wearing over the knees right now. Creative marketing. I like it. They sponsor hipster bloggers now…like this babe Karla. Very nice idea. Sponsoring bloggers is a good idea for your brand. Find someone who fits your style and pitch them something. I reckon you’re more than bound to get your monies worth.

yep, watching from the window

It’s one of those good days. Sitting with the girls watching reruns of Sex and the City on DVD. The four of them are so comforting, like home made chicken soup. Made some of that yesterday afternoon, dinner tonight.  I’m watching Season Two, Miranda is not at her hottest and Carrie still smokes. She just started therapy.  Every time I tell Dad I’m watching SATC he asks ‘out which window?’. He’s really funny, my Dad.   Had a nice dinner at the Gladstone last night. Deep fried Brie, amazing. Saw fireworks in the sky from Queen West over the lake. They were at Ontario Place but i’m not sure why, July 4th maybe?  This guy was wearing a headset and on the front he had a sign that said cheap and on the back easy. Unique characters on Ossington in the night. It’s lovely outside and I’m gonna enjoy it. I love lazy Sunday. My sister and friends are on their way for pool party. Hangout out with Jenie is the best, she makes me the most happy.

a story of beauty featuring me by darren

I walked into the salon tucked away in a lovely loft in the heart of Queen West. I was greeted by charming eyes and warm beats that made me forget it was even winter. The shelves were stocked with the hottest Redken and he politely took my jacket. I felt as if I had already escaped the winter blues and I had only just arrived.Alas, the night begins…I was ready to relax, add some new blonde over my old ugly and chop a few strands off. I was totally having a lovely time being the focus of his attention as I patiently awaited the results.VOILA!! My hair is looking bangin’ with bright blonde and partial mahogany pieces to spice it up. The pix just don’t do it justice. It’s lovely. New camera comes next week. Thank you Darren for making me feel so pretty. If you would like Darren to run his fingers through your locks call him, he’s a babe. Find him @ www.darrenkwik.com

gettin’ ma hair did

Tonight I am heading over to the Darren Kwik Studio, Queen West to get my hair done. It has been ages and I’m quite excited about it. Darren has been doing hair for ages and I’m looking forward to seeing him again. It’s been years! I’ve read a bunch of reviews of his salon and it has an excellent reputation. Darren was a hairstylist for the 2008 Much Music Video Awards and also took part in Redken’s Annual ONE X ONE Cut-A-Thon which raised awareness and funds in support of child poverty in Canada and around the world. Stay tuned for how beautiful my hair looks tomorrow!!
