he just jumped, i couldn’t save him

Earlier this week I wrote about the many relationships I’ve had with hardware, computers that is. The track record of breakage expands further than computers, it includes phones and cameras too. I can’t even begin to think about all the units I’ve been though over the last few years. I look forward to getting to work now that I’ve got a new desktop that stays there. It’s safe from the wreckage that I cause every time a laptop touches my fingers.  As I was leaving for the office this morning, I noticed the balcony door open and casually grabbed for the screen door to avoid any bugs coming inside.  There’s lots up high in condo-life. I attempted to close the door when my blackberry jumped out of my hand.  He must have wanted to go. I tried to stop him, but there was no way. He was full of spite and skid across the concrete heading straight for the edge.  I screamed as if I was being pushed to the very edge myself.  It was loud and full of fear.  I tried to say ‘don’t do it’ but he jumped, he just jumped.  He went right off the edge as if he was at Taupo doing a bungy. Thought flushed my mind thinking, what have I done, what have I not done to make you want  to end it all? I watched the whole thing happen. I saw him falling over 20 stories to what became a very tragic death. I scurried to the elevator, it seemed to be taking a lifetime. I could not get to the ground fast enough. I saw a resident walk past him, his parts were scattered across the pavement.  I wiped a tear and said  ‘WHAT AM I GOING TO WITHOUT YOU?” in an…

does mrs. bennett know i have a blog now mum?

There’s something here you don’t get in a post on Mashable or TechCruch, CNN, MSNBC, CBC, CityTV, CTV, MTV and all those other newsy post all the time guys. You get a story. I think I should tell more stories. I like to live them out as I try to remeber what really happened. It’s hard to think of them but when I do, I gotta write it down. Ideas only last so long. How do I send from Blackberry? I’m addicted to bloggging. I’m addicted to my blog I think. Is there a cure for that yet? My hand graces my forehead as I mumble Yeah Casie, a job as a writer… I came to the warehouse to work and write a bit. Theres something about being here that makes me feel so at home. When I was little Dad had a big industrial space for the hot rod shop. It smelled like tool box, wheels and work. The 32′ they build had huge Mickey Thompson tires that came up to above my waist at the time. The home garage always had cars in it too and on the weekends Dad and his friends would push them onthe street and the driveway and work on them with their shirts off. sed so stylish. All the kids played in the backyard on the swing set with sun and hats and the sprinkler. Even now, I still love spending time in my home garage tuning up my car and tidying away clutter from inside my house. Which reminds me, I must check up on my best friend soon. She lives in Illinois and the last time we spoke her garage door was broken! There are a few companies who specialise in garage door repair in Addison so I hope she managed…

elsa taught me how to fly

Elsa got a new job as a Super Blogger and I was so happy for her.  She’s in NYC and lives the little rich girl lifestyle I dream of.  Aaah, one day! I drew this for her because I was so excited. She also mentioned something about appearing in an Net Opera. Sounds interesting & will have to inquire about that a little more. Tomorrow I have been asked to join forces with some of Toronto’s Top Social Media guru’s to be part of  the World Partnership Walk. I’m on a team called Toronto’s Legion of Social Media Super Heroes and we are fighting Global Poverty. The walk takes place in 9 cities in Canada, and is largest charity walk fighting Global poverty. The RedWire girls will be there as the RedWire Angels, Saul Colt will be there as Mr. Zoocasa, Stuart MacDonald (former founder of Expedia.ca) will come as Captain Stuman! There are so many great people coming out including Miss KarmaCake (AKA Marie Nicola), Miss Sunshine Girl! (AKA Talia Russo), Mr. DailyChallenge (AKA Darius Bashar), The Rypple (AKA Jay Goldman),Mr. Facebook! (AKA Karim Kanji) and more! Anyone can dress up as any Social Media icon they wish! I’m you think walking is cool or you just wanna hang out, come meet me at Metro Hall at 11am.  I’m the lowest on the sponsorship scale and it would make me feel cool if someone would be generous enough to sponsor me. I’d really appreciate not being a loser! (wipes tear) It’s for the kids!

outside seems so much more appealing

I dressed like winter today. I have no idea why. I woke up and was whining ‘it’s cold‘ meanwhile staring at the Weather Network on Blackberry seeing 21 degrees and partly cloudy. I’m a dress/skirt girl. I wore pants and a hat and a big frumpy wooly sweater.  I prove to myself  all my thoughts I’ve had for two days of  ‘I’m not feeling great’.  It’s Friday afternoon and the office is quiet and I know there are beers being had on patios around me.  School next door has free drinks after work and all of a sudden I feel better. The phone rings and it’s Mum who’s calling from the boat up North and has the day off.  It’s lovely to hear her and chat but I’m in the office and have been working really hard can’t leave yet and have more work to do and don’t really have the time to chitty-chat and get sidetracked. We always talk about blog for a minute or two.  She misses it today because there’s no internet yet on the boat for blog reading.  I told her I laid in the grass at lunch and had a smoke and it was nice and sunny on my face.  I get to the point where I have to say “MUM, I’ve got to go‘ in a stern voice and I feel like a character in a chicklit book trapped at the office. I like it.   The book is being written as I live it out each day.  It’s my favorite story. I like this picture.  I like how little my feet are. These babies are a kids size 3 in the US and 2.5 in the UK. That’s mini. Do you follow me on Twitter yet? That would be a damn shame if…

It Was a Very Special Factory | #Florida

I had a great weekend, this is obvious. However, there is something else…Mum I never told you I was going to this party because I didn’t want you to worry! This weekend in Florida marked the Festish Factory 14th Anniversary Weekend. It was my first time ever going to a fetish party and it just so happened to be the world’s biggest and best. I wasn’t able to bring my camera to the parties but there will eventually be some great photos that show up from the many professional photographers that were there. I can totally understand why people enjoy BDSM Dating now! Here’s one from my camera and one that my friend took of us before going out. I hung out with the cool kids known as the NYC Tribe. It was badass. Sunday night was the Fetish Ball and what a night that was! OMG. I’ll update this post as I get more pix. I met some really awesome and really hot people. I wore latex and leather and some other stuff too. If you ask me, maybe I’ll tell you. This red outfit was what I wore the first night. I didn’t want to be too crazy for my first night there. For my second night, my outfit was a bit more ‘out there’ and, I won’t tell you what, but I purchased some bits from https://loveplugs.co… I’ll leave that to your imagination. I made friends with some lovely ladies from Boston & New Orleans. They have been to these parties before. I was super nervous yet excited, I had no idea what I was in for. It was amazing, I loved it. There were pool parties and afterparties all over the place and the whole hotel was full of people attending the event. You gotta go.…

he called it a ‘blog day afternoon’

This is my Dad with Jenie & Me. It’s in our backyard at the house I grew up in.  Mum still lives there and I love going home and sitting in my old room. I chuckle each time I see a picture of me as  kid because I make all the same little faces. The cute ones, the cheeky ones, the sad ones and all the other silly ones. Mum says I used to sit in front of the mirror for hours and chat to myself or practice making faces. Shocking, lol. Was chatting a friend on MSN and he came up with some pretty good material. twenty says: blog tied! blog jam! fucking the blog. in blog we trust? john carpenter’s    the blog? blog day afternoon.casie says:haha yeah casie says:keep going this is good material twenty says: egg blog at Christmas? casie says: you are awesome casie says: keep it up twenty says: im tited twenty says: tired twenty says: lol casie says: haha twenty says: i will give u material when u need it twenty says: u dont need it twenty says: it’s a blogs life baby! twenty says: blog day afternoon i  dont mind twenty says: its yrs twenty says: lol twenty says: if a Blog fell in the forrest.. would anyone hear it? twenty says: you’re blogging me way down twenty says: Cats N Blogs? casie says: meow… The Vice Guide to Toronto is out now. i’m blushing now

because he wrote this. “There is a reason I started all this gibberish, or at least there was … I had a moment today, a kinky one. Which is true, and it was a moment of pure joy to click on the Awesomest Blog Ever and find a blog void of gibberish. It was one of those moments that can change a man’s attitude about himself and his life for a while… Like the time a man first shaves his balls and realizes he just became that much closer to being just like David Lee Roth in his hey-day… Unchained! And unchained she is… Fun, Honest, Humble and Authentic are just a few of the words I can use to describe this modern artist, without even knowing her or her character. But I can say this… Her genuine nature comes through in her blog and coming from a professional Gibberish Rustler, take it as a lesson… Her words have the power to shrivel nuts of the toughest Gibberish Rustler and make them fall off the body like raisins off a bush. Lucky for me I’m not that tough…“ read it and comment, if you have feelings ♥

art hives: Saturday in Kensi with Charlietron

We went into “This Ain’t the Rosedale” to check out some books. I got 2 really creative mini ones that fit great in the purse. I love those little ones. Trying on fancy hats is always one of my favorite things to do, along with trying on stuff and taking my picture in it. I went to Bungalow and as I was leaving but then found this totally rad dress that was black with RED LEATHER! I knew it must be tried on, by me. Obviously. I went to the Cameron House and the bathroom stall I went into your DJ Scootz in it from 2007. Rad! Charlie and I read books there and listened to some live music. He tried on my glasses and put his book upside down for the pic by accident. I think it looks intellectual. I dug for some scarves to find jems. Got hooked up these. Those vintage babies were only a buck a piece. God I love that, I make it look a million bux! All & all, I haven’t had a Saturday afternoon in Kensi like that for a couple weeks and it was lovely.

#spadiawatch #tamilprotest #holycow

I went for a bike ride at 5:30pm and was like whoa mama there’s a mad protest on Spadina. They were at Queen Street heading South.  I’ve never seen something like it. I heard heaps of sirens and saw police cars rushing towards the Gardener at top speed. The protesters proceeded to head up the Gardener ramp from Spadina and blocked the highway. I ran over to the spa room on the 27th floor next door and got some great photos of what was happening. It didn’t look to be violent in any way. crazay There are tons of kids in that group. I don’t know who would ever want to do that with their child. It’s getting cold out there too.  After posting photos and videos on Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Vimeo and 12seconds I got this  Tweet from Steve Austin at City TV asking to use my footage with a credit. Who’s a reporter now!? Hopefully it doesn’t last too long. Good thing I bike to work and it won’t interrupt my day!!

generation why me? urgh, gimme a break.

You may have seen the article in the Toronto Star this weekend on Saturday’s front cover entitled ‘Generation Why Me?’ It was related to recession, broken dreams and delayed ambitions. So I think 30 IS the new 20 and after reading the article, I refer to what Mum likes to call ‘poor me syndrome’. There are alot of people who are just lazy and unmotivated. This will never change, no matter what happens in the world. Sure, we’re faced with environmental/ economic/war crisis happening but we also have more access to information, more opportunity to succeed and more ways to gaining expertise for free. Hello Internet? There are things out there you just have to go and get them, the strong will survive. I ‘ve got a B.Comm in International Business & marketing diploma.  I work in the IT dept coordinating projects for an online gaming company. Before this was the fashion industry! I’ve worked in restaurants, done PR blah blah blah…I’ve never had a problem finding a job because I’ve always been determine NOT to fail. I also agree with @d_hock the most, if someone is going to complain & wah wah about ‘poor me, I’m GenY‘, I say…shut your face. Get up and do something about it! I have many more thoughts the awesomeness that is #GenyTO but I’ll save that for another day.

Just because you are in Australia, doesn’t mean you can wear your bathing suit EVERYWHERE. When we got there we thought that it was a-ok so we went all over the place dressed like this. The ferry, subway, lunch, Opera House. Really obvious that you’re a tourist if you do that. Beach walk from Bondi Beach – Coogee Beach.Pretty birds on my window.Again, in bathing suits. haha This is us getting groceries. We pushed the cart home with our umbrellas. This doesn’t make you look like a tourist, but rather an idiot. Oh, what fun we had! Opera House & Harbour Bridge from me.

fond, found, fortune, fashion, focus

I’m wearing a mum outfit today. Her old belt that still smells like New Zealand and a shortened Dashiki that matches my orange vintage boots. Tomorrow is going to warm but today its so windy and cold. I think I’m going to write on my way in more often. I lost my computer and ipod so now I use what I got, my device and thoughts and spend less time on the actual computer. I’m inspired in the morning, except for sporadic days when I am not. I usually wake up with a smile. Damn its cold. This morning I woke up to a message from a friend that said he’s in London England and the style there reminds him of me. I think that’s the nicest thing ever. I’ve never been to London but I know about style there. I can’t type as fast as thoughts fly, I can barely talk that fast and when I do its funny and I sound like a nut. I missed a call from a magazine editor last night. I wonder what he wants? H has the closing party for his art show tonight and I’m also planning to chat with Poster Boy. I’m going to make some. Cut and paste was one of my most favorite things to do at the kitchen table when I was younger. It still is along with writing. I wrote a poetry book in 1996 called Jeans. It’s not on Amazon because its out of print, its time for a new book. We started our publishing company without Internet and did it old the fashion way. We learned a lot. Its seems so easy now. I forgot my sunnies, the vintage ones from France. They would have matched perfect. As I take off my jacket I forget…

story: twitter saved the day

I recently tweeted a message asking if anyone knew someone at HP because I had a complaint to lodge. I was ready to rage. Several minutes after my message was out in the world I got an email from someone at HP who is in charge of client relations and prompted me to contact them to state my case.We had purchased a $300 HP scanner that would not work with Vista and wasn’t what we needed. Plain & simple. I waited on the phone for an hour once before getting cut off, 3 weeks passed before I could find the time to ring them again. When I did, the CSR said we couldn’t return itfor an upgrade or different model (past 30 days). She did tell me HP had a program coming out in a few months where I could return it so I would just have to wait. I was like WTF? Are you serious? Well, through some magic and my charm, HP sent a waybill and took our scanner back and now we have a new one that is about $200 more, without paying any extra or shipping. It can scan a ton of pages on auto and is much quieter. It has a special add on thingy to scan negatives too. My rep at HP is named Carl and he is very nice and helpfull. Nice one Carrrrrrrrrrrllll! Thanks HP!

setting up for the world

I arrived on location at about 11am on Saturday. It was mighty windy and most of the team was already in motion. We had to make sure all was going to stay put with the wild wild wind! We successfully got the backdrop in a safe place! Ha ha wind, you are no match for a team of do-gooders. Look at @d_hock, no one can stop him.Erin & Dan were fueling the online excitement and tweeting awesome stuff like this, this and this. I was doing chalk art. I was in heaven. Nothing more fun than being part of a team when you get to do one of your favorite things ever. Did you know they have crayola spray chalk for kids now? It didn’t work that well so I stuck to the old school drawing style.

The Brightest Light in My Life – Mum

On the weekend I spent a lovely day with Mum. She has just returned from New Zealand and brought back some treats. I feel quite lucky because she managed to find and bring back some of her old clothes for us. I got a great dress she made (yes, made) when she was about 15 as well as a gorgeous leather belt. She brought my sister back a pair of her old boots that are totally rad. Mum found some old photos of herself, she is so cool and has always been a stylish young lady! One of the things I really miss about NZ are the treats. There are so many wonderful things to enjoy! Mum packed up a goodie bag for us each! Yum yum!We stopped into Lahore Tikka House for lunch. The food was fantastic as usual. However, they are using Styrofoam plates and cups which I find to be wasteful and horrible for the environment. Maybe they will change this behavior? I did see the following things that I found to be amusing:Note the handwritten sign stating that you can have a “piece of history” by purchasing an Obama t-shirt. Nice. This needs no explanation except for “ha ha”. Have a great day!

chantez-moi une chanson

I’ve been working on my French skills over the last year. Some of my tools are watching French movies, news in French and listening to French Music. I’ve got occasional podcasts also but I find them to be not nearly as fun. My french is better when written and more understood when read. My friend Charlie introduced me to my new fav French girl, Camille. This is her ‘Money Note’. She uses her voice to make cool sounds and incorporates them into her tracks. C’est fantastique!! My other favorites are Yelle and Carla Bruni.

he’s just not that into who?

I went to see the movie this evening and, well, I get it. Guys don’t mix their signals they just give you excuses for not being into you. For example, “You’re too perfect”, “Too successful/awesome”, “I just got out of a relationship”, “I’m not emotionally mature”, “I need work on myself”, blah, blah, bullshit. I guess its being considerate and saving a girls feelings, but maybe they are just too afraid to say it. The movie was pretty good, not your average chick flick. Slight emotional roller coaster, yet realistic. Basically, if a guy doesn’t either call/text/email/facebook/myspace/twitter/PIN/voicemail you, he is not interested. In our world there are so many forms of communication, why waste your time waiting for someone to reach you? Lesson learned – if they want to talk to you, they will. It mentioned how all those magical love stories your friends tell you to make you feel better are all exceptions to the rule. Are you the rule or the exception? Finally, the site for the movie is cute and entertaining. As for Jennifer Aniston and ScarJo, they both looked great.

i’m bangin’ obama!

Aha!! Got you with that one. Has it gone to far with yet another ‘Obama’ product? The condoms say ‘use with good judgment’, as if he is happy to have you banging and reaching for a condom with his face on it. I wonder if the laytex itself has an Obama face on it? The Chicago Tribune published an article saying the ‘the amount of Obama-related goods for sale is unprecedented, historians say. No president has seen so many people sell so many things so shamelessly: collectors’ coins and plates, bath towels, bobbleheads and buttons just about anything that can have an image applied to it.’ I think it’s hilarious.

degrassias – what generation?

I found this little note from my first day on set at Degrassi. in 2007 I was doing a bunch of random jobs that summer including background work and PR. I started thinking to myself as I sit here in Holding for my first day at Degrassi High…. Here I am working on a show I’ve never seen surrounded by a bunch of people whom either I’ve only met over the last six weeks or never seen before. Its great, as I hear the sound of “Its Raining Men” on the set, I’ve managed once again to avoid being used or getting on camera. It’s a total dream when you get to spend the day sitting in Holding, getting paid to do whatever it is your little heard desires until they call for lunch or “everyone on set”. I’m hoping that today I make to lunch at least. I’m hiding in the back area hoping not get get noticed or called. Made it past lunch. Thank god. Unfortunately, I had to walk past the cast a few times on camera holding hands with Jessica as if she was my girlfriend. Someone in the cast is at a gay bar with a rich guy and from what I can tell he is barely, if even at all out of the closet to his friends on the show (or in real life.) I wish I had seen this damn show at least once. Turns out that guy did come out of the closet and I still, to this day, have not seen the show. Something totally ‘fab’ did happen that day; I was given a pair of boots from wardrobe because I didn’t bring any heels with me. After we finished shooting for the day I was leaving the set heading to…

cold? snug.

I was feeling quite cold on Sunday as I was lazing around. A friend suggested something called the Snuggie. Have you heard of it? Snuggie seems like a really weird word to me, look at it, ‘SNUGGIE’. I think this unit is following me around. Later that day I saw it on TV and today I got an email offering me a buy one get one free special. I think it’s silly, however, I’d have to try it to find out just how useful it could be. I’m thinking it may be practical for an outdoor sporting event. Especially if you had a few sewn together so you could keep the whole family warm. Family size snuggie. Feel free to take advantage of this offer that was in my junk mail. I don’t need it. I have heating, blankets and many lovely sweaters from New Zealand that my Nana knit.

AND THE HOLIDAY CONTEST WINNER IS…….

Mary Mason from Waterloo, Ontario!! This year we are all bombarded by pressure to give and spend money, all the while facing difficult times in the economy & job market. Take a moment to read Mary’s touching holiday memory, it brought tears to my eyes. Remember, just because you don’t have money or a big family around, there is always opportunity to share, give and spread joy to others. Mary is the proud winner of Organza gift set thanks to Givenchy. Organza highlights the femininity of every woman- that of the mother and the lover. Organza awakens the goddess within and is the perfect fragrance for an exceptional and timeless woman as it combines elegance, richness and purity. Congratulations Mary! Mary’s Touching Story Most Meaning Full Christmas: As we head into the holiday season and we worry about economical uncertainty I would like to share my most meaning full Christmas that my children still talk about today and one that changed our lifes for ever. I was recently divorced from a 23 year marriage, had just entered back into the work force after being an “at home mom” and money was very tight. With no extended family to celebrate Christmas with I was feeling alone. I had in the past always got through sad times by reaching out and helping others. So I talked an idea over with my children. We would open our home to anyone we knew who would be alone for Christmas evening dinner. Instead of buying gifts we would use the money to prepare our Christmas celebration. We would prepare everything for supper in the morning and in the afternoon we would volunteer to help serve Christmas dinner to…

the most patient man on earth

Now this is truly amazing. There is something savant about this man; he is the most patient little spider around! Nothing is too small to be art, nothing is too small to be noticed. With this in mind, think about about all your actions, large or small are things and how much of an impact you have on the world. No action goes unnoticed within the universe! This man said teachers used to make him feel small and thus he began creating very mini sculptures. He has an exhibit in Liverpool,UK where you can only see all the beautiful sculptures through a microscope! Very cool 🙂 Needle Sized Art Very incredible story! Not only is this mans art cool but he got a ton of cash for it!

Beautiful People.

Tonight watched Beautiful People on Slice. If you don’t know what Beautiful People is you may not have been on the Internet for the last year and probably should see a doctor. Right now. Beautiful People (BP) is an exclusive agency for meeting other people, except it only lets in the pretty ones. No boring and no ugly ones either. It’s beauties meeting beauties. The members vote and if you’re hot enough, then you can join. If not, you get a message that says “the beautiful people don’t think you are attractive enough“. I suggest you take a look at it for fun. I find it interesting however not surprising that a business like this exists this and Slice broadcasts it right into my very own room. There was a commercial for Botox during the break and it emphasized the importance of “freedom of expression”. This, I am also thankful for, the expression that is, not the Botox. An actress from Toronto got rejected by Beautiful People (BP) and found inspiration in that to get plastic surgery all over her face. They told her that she looked tired and sunken and she needs some work done. Of course, cosmetic surgery can help you achieve this. Lotus Medical offer their clients the chance to ‘regain your youthful appearance’ through their cosmetic procedures that include tummy tuck, fillers and liposculpture among many more. To be honest with you I am actually all in favor of changing your appearance if it makes you happy. A good friend of mine has had a few procedures done by the best plastic surgeon chicago has to offer and this has made a huge difference to her confidence. Ultimately, if you are considering plastic surgery it is vital that you do your research so that you can…
