today was a full on day. scooted out to a meeting about a new project. had lunch at this cute place called Bld on Toronto Street. like it there. oh hai, lemme take this call while i take my own photo aka work. walked by and say this guy remmebering. made me sad. i paused and thought about all the soldiers who have fought for our freedom and made the ultimate sacrifice, their lives. i thought about grandad and grandpa and my family and mum and all the things that i’m grateful for. so many things. thank you for being part of my life. this is nana and grandad and mum and my aunt & uncles. i bet grandad never thought he would be on the internet! amazing eh grandad?! love and miss you. ok onto the next stop… popped into fashionably yours where i was most fabulously styled by jay strut for raymi’s 10 year anniversary party tonight at wrongbar. so many great finds in there. it’s located at 632 queen street west west of bathurst. go there say HI to JANET and JAY for me when you do. they are lovely and nice. oh what to wear? i tried on some seriously lovely dresses. it came down to the fuchsia betsy johnson or the little sequin french connection number. i look like a huge dork…i am. get used to it. i want to walk in your shoes, yes yes i do. one day i will have a boyfriend who can wear these shoes with style and look hot. and the winner is…SEQUINS. kinda knew it, i love sequins so. probably all the years i spent wearing them as a young ballerina from the age of three for ten years that did it. ok time to get ready for…

VIRGIN AMERICA: we’re all winners here

Yesterday I gave away a flight on Virgin America at Finch Station. I let out a few clues via Twitter/Blog and in order to be eligible you had to meet me there with an I LOVE VIRGIN AMERICA sign. I rode the subway playing Angry Birds drinking Vitamin Water hoping like crazy that people were ready to meet me. Imagine if NO ONE was there? Oh man, I’d be mortified. Well, there were a bunch of people and they all had signs! Christine was the first one to spot me on the subway car and I heard her yell “she’s here” which was followed by her running beside the car to the door where I was about to exit. Imagine my surprise when I saw all these beautiful faces! (BTW don’t judge me for the crap photos, returning my camera today as the flash seems to have died. I am a camera killer.) Analog: Digital: In order to make sure the winner was TOTALLY random I was blindfolded with my pashmina and stood in the middle of the group whilst spinning around then stopped and pointed. Not the most advanced method but deff the most tried, trusted and true. The winner was Rochelle Latinsky. Congrats! After the big win some peeps had to go back to work and I took Phil & Tyler to Boston Pizza for a little lunch date. Big thanks to my new bestie Calvin at the Yonge Sheppard Boston Pizza for treating us all. it’s the little things that count i tell ya my deary

Woke up to to a super sunny view of the island, tweeted it and rolled out of bed. Been waking up pretty tired lately, probably from staying up late w/ Andy playing Angry Birds. God I love hate that stupid game. I’ve been using my PC less now that I have ipad. Haven’t blogged from there yet, WordPress app seems to be not functioning properly. I can officially say I’ve been mac’d and it’s only a matter of time before I switch to iphone. We all knew it would happen one day… Listening to Diamond Rings – Special Affections, liking it. Got this lovely email just now: Hey Casie, I love love your blog (appreciate how positive you are in a world of blogs of people complaining) and would love to send you an organic skincare treat that I think would be perfect given your new(ish) post as Provocateur. What’s your mailing address? Thanks!! Those little things make me so happy, getting natural skincare stuff is great but the fact that someone took the time to point out my positvity and thank me for that is totally lovely. inspiring social change is totally cool!!

I used to do these Friday posts that were called TGIF: Twitter, Google, Internet, Facebook. A roundup of some of my fav things from around the week this week. Guess what? I’m bringing it b-b-b-back. Here we go. Please comment, it’s nice when you share, I share, we share. Twitter: Influence. It’s a word that gets tossed around on the internet when talking about brands and people and ROI and social media but what does that really mean? The big draw I feel used to be traffic, if you had traffic, you had influence. Thanks to Twitter and a couple other sites, traffic on your blog is not the only way to measure. There’s more that come into play, attitude, reputation, audience. Brands want to connect with people that represent the same things they stand for, people who identify with the brand make it more authentic. (A word now totally over used BTW.) For example, Virgin America is a great brand match for me, I’m a cheeky little rabble-rouser, I like to have fun and I reckon Sir RB and I will make good friends. (P.S. we meet in Dallas Dec. 1st). Klout was recently featured in the Globe & Mail and I think what they are doing is great. Here’s a snippit: “In the fast-changing social media world, influence is becoming increasingly important as companies start to focus more on who is leading conversations as opposed to how many conversations are happening. I have a new boyfriend, his name is Andy.

He is an ipad. We are in love. Remember I said I really want an ipad? Well, I painted, scratched, and WON. I could feel I was gonna win, something inside me just knew. Power of positive thought I tell ya. We spent the night together and I took him to dinner last night too. I named him Andy because I won him at the Amex Canvas event yesterday and it was artsy. We’re gonna be makin’ art together and gettin’ creative and I kinda have Edie hair anyways. I downloaded heaps of apps: Globe & Mail, Angry Birds, ibooks, CityTV Video, Google Earth, Draw Free, Page Capture, Bubble, Twitter, Tweetdeck, Mashable, Facebook, GT Racing (fun), We Doodle (fun) and my fav game Cut the Rope. Thanks Amex. You are awesome! I’m really frustrated at the moment with a couple things. It’s one of those days. I need to get outside and soak up some sun. You ready for takeoff? Show was at Queen West hipster hot spot Parts & Labour. Nice choice. Show was rad. Perfect Virgin America mood lighting. We were chatting this babe in the bathroom about her dress and little did we know that she was a band member. Guy with hood is a babe too. Lady Gaga telephone hat & costume was so well made. Hat was quite heavy. Deff needs long hair, looks silly on me. You know this fine fox, Courtney Love otherwise known as Raymi the Minx. This fine Queen & ruler of Egypt is my sister Jenie. LOVE YOU. Total babes. BTW food at P&L is great. Meat table + cheese FTW. Kate Killet is a kyooooote kitteh. Say hello to Kate from Virgin America and her red wig. Totes on brand 😉 Great to see the VX peeps. They are all so cool, honestly, I am so happy to have met them and totally stoked for the next year of awesomeness. Look out Toronto. Bathrooms at P&L have the weirdest mirrors. This was me at 6am these are my new Moovboots. Best ones yet. Siberian Huskies. And now for something special, Street Style/Unstyle: You Decide! Rarrrr… WoRD Up. Yesterday was my first time on the mic in Dundas Square. There was a cute boy painting a mural all day, was pretty. I thought I would have been more nervous but I wasn’t, I was just like “ok lets do this”. That’s a good sign. I have more anxiety now that it’s over. Been there so many times, seen peeople perform, danced, celebrated Olympic wins, it always seemed like such a huge space and now it feels smaller. One of my fav performances was John Mayer, I know he’s a bit of a dick but I really like him. I wanna do something big there. The whole place is Virgin Mobile sponsor/branded. My mind was thinking abut Virgin America…can we get a plane in there somehow and have a party on it? It was pretty chilly out. Winter is coming. It snowed today, so pretty. I quite love the winter. The sun is shining so bright in our place this afternoon. I’m watching “I hope They Serve Beer in Hell” the Tucker Max movie, VERY offensive and very funny. Some people really wont like this movie and find it quite inappropriate, good thing I’m not friends with many of those ones. Haha. Lots of swearing. Did you see this? what are you wearing? i dunno. i just put stuff on.

I wore cute tights today. It was sunny bright outside. Sabrina’s Mum sent these tights from Hawaii. My Mum said she is hoping to send something from NY when they stop there on the big sailing adventure. If anything I hope she picked up something from a second hand store. She’s got great style and always knows good things for my sister and I. MISS YOU MUM. Call me when you get phone or internet. It was quite windy out today as well… I went to an ofice for a meeting and heard “oh look at you” then “you are like a Blossom but in 2010”. I forget that most office settings don’t wear funky outfits with hats and tights and scarves and stuff all different colours. I forgo and I am glad that I forgot. You should forget too. Dress fun and be unique. Working from home, I feel is the best thing for personal stle. Mind you, my room is messier than ever and I find motivation to clean it is nonexistent. Everytime I leave the house I throw together a mish-mash of things and accessories, hats, scarves and jewels galore. Every time I leave the house I am in costume, I am playing a part, I am me. This is my life. You are always someone when you leave the house, you are someone different on Monday morning than you were on Sunday morning (especially if hungover!). Your Friday afternoon self is different from holiday dinner self or your Sunday with Nana self. We are changing all the time. Lets hope it’s always for the better. yesterday i biked to the meetings i had. it was sunny and warm and i didn’t even have to wear a jacket! it’s the end of october, that is fascinating… well, because it makes me think about global warming and how it used to be cold by now but on the other hand it is totally freaking awesome. today i am telling you about my stuff… bike: raymi the minx, vintage > i need to fix the alignment. wanna help? jeans: shop girl gallery boutique, yoga jeans > these guys are so comfy. remember when i NEVER wore jeans at all, yeah, well that has changed now that i have these. rest time at the fake beach by the lake. nice to get feet in the sand and look out across the water with sun on your face. was quite beautful. sweater: marks, SOFT edge to edge cardigan > very soft and long, i like to wear it on the plane because it works like a snuggie but fits in your carry on purse. it also covers up your whole outfit and shows only the legs so you feel skinny and never ugly. i was walking back to bike when camera shot here. needed to take off sweater cause it was so warm out. btw it is also quite warm, the sweater, snuggly really. washes up nice and soft, ok in dryer too. mum and sister, you would both love this. tank: holt renfrew, bamjamz > made from bamboo and really really comfy, breathes nice, actually for sleeping/yoga…bike riding i guess too. that’s exercise. it has a panda on it. not a sad panda, a happy panda i like to think. hat: some vintage shop @ st. kevins arcade, ponsonby, nz. got it that day i went shopping with a…

It’s true. No, I’m not looking for dates but I am looking to get together to talk with cool smart people who like to work with other cool smart people. I’m finishing up a contract this week and available as a consultant. I like to create fun campaigns that engage people online and connect them with cool brands. I also like to get people off the couch and create experiences. I’m not camera shy or afraid of public speaking and I love having my picture taken. Since leaving CTV as MuchMusic & MTV‘s social media guru/content writer, my life has been really exciting. Over the last two months…I did red carpets and celebrity soirees during Toronto International Film Fest (TIFF). I spent 10 days in New Zealand with as an International VIP sitting front row at NZ Fashion Week (NZFW). I hopped on a plane to San Francisco and met with the Virgin America team as their cheekly-little-rabble-rouser in Toronto. This week I am the spokesperson for the Arm Yourself campaign with GSK and for the next year, I am your Virgin America Provocateur. I’m young, smart, creative and a bank rich w/ ideas. a day in the life of a girl on a bike in city that never sleeps so she blogs her life away

Yesterday I went for a bike ride. I had lunch with a lovely Newfie named Brent Winsor who went to his high school prom with Jessi from MTV. We had BQM he paid, it was tasty. Actually his mama paid, THANKS MA! He has a wee Newf accent, that shizzz cracks me right the efff up. ENJOY Toronto BRENT! He said I am way smaller in real life than I appear on Twitter. Deff not the first tme I’ve heard people thinking I appear taller online. Larger than life? We also chatted w/ a CBC reporter about how Rob Ford was totes gonna win. Brent was a huge supporter although he can’t vote here. He likes controversy I think. heh heh I also voted. Rob Ford won. Knew that would happen. Anyone who takes on Mayor is going to have a hard job. I would hate that job. Peeps are so angry he won. Someone freaked out I had a different photo here. I took a pic of a blank ballot and drew in a vote. Not funny eh? Is this better? I aim to please 😉 In other news… I’m so excited peeps! SERVED! Big big thanks to Smirnoff Canada for hosting another great event! The Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project has been travellin’ around 14 countries (Canada, USA, Great Britain, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Germany, India, Ireland, Lebanon, Poland, South Africa, Thailand and Venezuela). I would LOVE to go to one of the parties outside of Canada. Hellooooo nurse!!! Remember the last Smirnoff party I went to in the summer? hi, how are you today?

Fine. Sitting on the couch drinking water and eating Marmite on bread. Had a great night out with my sister last night. I’m closer to her than ever and it’s crazy how well we know each other. We are afterall sisters, but really good friends too which is awesome. I really appreciate her and that she lives in the city . We don’t see Dad that much cause he’s in Cambridge and Mum is sailing on her boat on the East Coast of the USA. LOVE YOU GUYS! Lots of stuff this week. Monday night is TweetgasmTO at the Gladstone. Tuesday night I have something I forgot to put in my calendar and I hate when I do that. Hopefully writing this now and reading it later will remind me what the heck it is. Thursday is Sabrina’s birthday. There’s always stuff hapenin’ on Thursday. Friday I will be at Dundas Square all day for an event follow me at @armyourself_gsk for deets on that. Friday night is the People Downtown Halloween party. Saturday, I reckon I will need sleep/home alone time. Sunday is Halloween yahooooooooo. I will be at Parts & Labor for a private show with Broken Social Scene that is hosted by Virgin America and the Torontoist. I really hope Emily & Feist are there. That would be great, I have a crush on them both. Next week I’ve got a spa thing at the Cosmopolitan Hotel and a lesson in DJing. Imagine I was a DJ? Imagining……….. Up early for a meeting. Have lunch date with Hann, who I have not seen in 8,000,000 years. Meeting couple designers at Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI) in the afternoon. Attended a fashion event last night with Tarek (designer of my forever loved Nella Bella bags). Night was sponsored by Audi, post about that later. watch it missy

Oh man, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today with a nasty kink in my neck. It’s been hurting for two days now. Gets less hurting as the day goes by but OMFG it kills. Last night we tried to change the PW on our wireless network and y’know what, imma not that savy at the ‘networking’ side of things and I effed up the internet. In other great networking news our cable effed up yesterday too. RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. I hate missing my show. So, today I woke up with no cable, or internet. First world problems FTW! Right when I was about to have a breakdown, my phone rang. It was Superman. My friend Michael Nus called at the right time and was in my hood and he came over and fixed my internet! THANK YOU. Shortly after, the cable guy called and told me there was an outage last night and I reset the cable box and that was fixed too. Oh yeah, I just got my Y and R fix, I feel better, that shit is addictive man. Y’know what happend next? I got mail! Now Richard Branson and I own the same watch. I realy hope I get to meet him next week in SF. Thanks Valerie and Plastic Chic for the new watch. I’ve not had a watch since highschool. It was a real Gucci watch and I took it off to teach some kids breakdancing and got called on stage. When I went back, it was gone. I’m gonna keep this one safe! canada goose 2010 preview: i wanna get goosed

Last night Keri and I went to the Canada Goose 2010 preview. I’ve never owned any Goose gear. Saw heaps of peeps, checked out lots of merch and it was nice to get to know the brand a little better. How cute is this jacket? And this hat? We look good together, don’t we? Jacket is from the kids line. Loves the brightness and it felt really snug & warm. I’d love to be wearing it when I’m going around to Virgin events and doing all kinds of cool stuff this winter. hint hint 😉 Winter is coming guys. Let shope it’s not too damn cold this year aiiight. I’m ready for hibernation station when it hits. Actually, I don’t mind winter that much. It doesn’t get nearly as cold now as it did when we were kids. Remember how much show we used to get? Like CRAZY amounts. Canada Goose has these Goose People who brave the elements and do amazing things. I got a prety neat book about them all. I reckon I can do some pretty amazing things too? Maybe I should climb a massive mountain in my spare time. I really like way the companies/agencies are starting to get creative with event activities and take aways. Last night we each got our photo taken in Goose gear, were given it on a branded USB key, then the image was made into a snow globe. (Dad, you are getting this for Christmas. I’m stoked for Halloweeeeeener. Can you believe we’re almost half way through Roctober already? Sheesh gonna be 2K11 before no time. On Sat the 29th in the day I will be doing something cool that I can’t tell you about yet (save the date) and in the night I will be at Tequila Bookworm for the People Downtown halloween-bloodbath-dressup party.
