Blunnies Come in Shoes Now: These are my new pair!

The other week I recieved an email about the new Blundstone shoes. I’ve wanted a pair of boots for ages, so I replied right away and set up a time to visit the store. Blundstone boots come from Tasmania, Australia (I’ve been there) and all the shoe styles (like traditional boots) are unisex. Tried on both traditional boot in round & square toes, and the new shoe style. I went with the new shoe. They’re cute. Shoes retail for $149/pair and are available in Blundstone retailers across Canada and blundstone.ca. I got mine at the store on Queen West. Of course 😉 They come in three different colours. I picked chocolate suede. Ian Heaps of Blundstone Footwear said ““The new shoe style is perfect for those who want the Blundstone quality and comfort in a lighter format. “The shoes are great for around the office, but also transition well into the evening. They provide lasting comfort with Blundstone’s signature “slip on/slip off” convenience. They are everything you would find in a Blundstone boot, in a smaller, lighter package.” I love the way they get worked in over time. This pair belong to Casey from the Blundstone store on Queen (same name = awesome) and hers are about a year old (left) and the other ones are brand new. I’m pretty sure my uncle has a pair of these, they always remind me of New Zealand. Guess who else wears Blundstones? The Sheepdogs. Founded in 1870, Blundstone is Australia’s leading manufacturer of quality footwear and IS STILL a family-owned company. I reckon they’ll fit right into my wild lifestyle. I love the orange bike outside the shop, my shoes looked good with it. I saw this contest on the website and am sharing it with you. I don’t work for them…

Work, Work, Worker Bee Babe

Busy day today. This weather is great for working. I was invited to Blundstone, the Australian boot company to check out their new style of shoes.  They come from Tasmania, I’ve been there. Toured a brewery and went to a spa in Hobart. Will share those tomorrow. Have dance tonight at King West Fitness for Nuvo Burlesque’s Army of Sass. I’m stoked. It’s so much fun. Things are going great at work. I really love it here.  Do you love my new glasses? They’re ‘Love’ by Derek Cardigan for Clearly Contacts. I’m terribly excited for Halloween BTW. Hope you are having an awesome day! <3 CASIE

InstaObsessed! Insta Raps, Insta Vids, InstaGIFT for YOU.

You know I love my Instagram. Well, yesterday I spent a few hours playing around with my latest iPhone app Flipagram. It turns your Instragram photos into video. Made these of the boys & girls I’ve shot since getting iPhone. Recognize anyone? Then I came across this Instagram RAP. Yes, RAP. It’s by 21 year old cutie Allday (Tom Gaynor) in Australia. There’s another Instagram rap by MikeyBolts (YouTuber) but he’s not as cute or hipster or Australian. I downloaded his album. Producer C1 reminds me of this Maori mega babe I met in NZ. Thanks to the WONDERS of the Internet, Flipagram saw my Tweet, posted my vid on their Instagram & Facebook, connected with me via DM and now we’re friends. So, naturally I asked for a couple codes so I can get you the APP FO FREE. I paid for mine you devils! If you are Instagram obsessed too and wanna try it, click this button and TWEET ME. Tweet to @casiestewart Make sure you’re following both @casiestewart & @flipagram. I have three promo codes for three people anywhere in the world. I will pick this afternoon cause I know you is ANXIOUS.

Calgary Casie, Banff Bound

Driving on the Trans Canada highway from Calgary to Banff. Great flight on WestJet, picked up the car and hit the road. I met a bear. “The Trans-Canada Highway (French: Route Transcanadienne) is a federal-provincial highway system that travels through all ten provinces of Canada. It is, along with the Trans-Siberian Highway and Australia’s Highway 1, one of the world’s longest national highways, with the main route spanning 8,030 km (4,990 mi).” Wikipedia Happy I packed all the clothes. It’s cool & rainy. Fully prepared with Wellies and yellow raincoat. Opened my suitcase, pulled out a vintage fur and leopard hat. Stylish and snug as a bug. Pat Hope, my Fairy Godmother would be proud! I could see what we are diving past right now. I’m gonna wake up in the Rockies. This is crazy. Can’t wait to see the @urbannativegirl, @latejuly, & the @CoralTV team. Tired/excited. Let’s do this! Hi, Calgary! Nice to be in you. Cheers to Travel Alberta for the warm welcome. Stargazer Take Me for a Moonwalk

This is so true. I made this post of all the tabs I just had open. The internet is so much more fun than cleaning your room. — CASIE STEWART (@casiestewart) May 6, 2012 My plan was to close all the tabs, get off the computer and clean my room BUT, SATC is on the W Network and I can really do it tomorrow when the sun is out. Right? I once tried on that beautiful Tibi dress from the start of SATC at Rent Frock Repeat once. I loved it. Don’t forget to look at the moon tonight. Biggest one this year, SUPERMOON. Remember the supermoon last year. That was a very magical night. May 1, 2012 – Looking Back Over The Years #archives

May is my fav month of the year. April showers bring May flowers, it’s time to get summer ready and celebrate my born day. I feel a bit silly making a big deal about my birthday so my sister is planning a little dinner next Tuesday night. You’re welcome to stop by. I’ll post details. I joined Twitter in May 2008 so, May 5th is a cool day too. I’m gonna give daily videos another go this month along with the Instagram May Photo a Day Challenge. I’m trying to develop a more consistent routine. Anything you’d LIKE to see? Wanna know? For the fist 7 days of the Month, I’m going to look back at a couple people, places, things & thoughts from each year I’ve been blogging. Then, on the 8th day we celebrate 30 years of my life. Woo hoo! WE ARE YOUNG. Here We Go, 2005 Throwback: Moved to Toronto. Lived in the Annex at Bathurst & college. Bracelet on my wrist says “CAS” my nickname in Australia. Had a mullet and the first pair of skinny jeans seen in Toronto since the 80’s. That ring was glass & Armani. It was a gift from HighRise Magazine. Remember that mag? Worked at YM Inc. as Assistant to Director of Product Purchasing. First ever job out of Uni. Was lucky to meet someone on the plane home from LA who worked in fashion. Introduced me to the right people. ABC – Always Be Closing, baby. I was pretty obsessed with moving back to Australia. And Myspace. And VICE Magazine. Was publishing lots of poetry on MySpace I wrote at Uni and in college.  Here’s a couple old guys: Brand New Day Writers Block My Game Now Watch for Starlet Spring Love Acutely Ironic A bird writes a sonnet Sings the…

Save The Mermaids

Found a bunch of pix from my year at Uni in Australia. Living at Bondi Beach was a total dream. I had a BMX, an Aussie surfer BF and spent countless days riding waves & catching rays. It was magical. Had super dark hair for a while too. Life is such a dream, <3 My cousin Matthew from NZ.

The Weekend: Sunday Sessions

In Australia there’s this thing called Sunday Sessions that starts in the afternoon, involves music, BBQ, friends and fun. I think Sammy & the boys might start it up this summer. I’m laxing on the balcony reading a movie script in the sun. It’s so lovely out! I’m not sure if it’s windy on ground level cause my balcony blocks it all. My little paradise, balconia. Catching a film for the Hot Docs festival and going to visit my sister later. Happy Sunday. Have a great session 🙂 ILU Bondi ♥

DREAMS WITH SHARP TEETH

Morning! I’ve been added as a speaker to a second panel during Social Media Week and this one is probably the most personal talk I’ve even agreed to take part in. It’s about to get deep, we’re talking ANXIETY. One of the things that gives me the most anxiety and possibly you too, is not having money. I’ve gone through lots of ups & downs in my life and I don’t come from money so all I have, is all I’ve earned. When I returned from Australia I was so skinny from living on next to nothing I looked like Nicole in her anorexic days, not by choice. It’s hard to carve out a way to get paid for what you love doing. Especially as a creative person. Last summer I wrote a post about how you can’t pay me in chips or chocolate bars. I got sick and tired of people asking me to do work for them in return for things I don’t need. What would I do with a bunch of chips & chocolate? I go to the gym for a reason! Helloooooo. If they (whoever is asking) are getting a paycheque and are asking me to do work, I should get paid too. You wouldn’t believe some of the extreme things I get asked to to in return for ‘publicity’. I turn down way more than I accept. (That’s not to say I don’t love getting a few freebie’s along the way!) Lauren posted this video that’s an excerpt from an upcoming documentary on Harlan Ellison, “DREAMS WITH SHARP TEETH“. He’s an excellent writer and inspiring man. I’m sure you will enjoy it. My startup disk is full so I’ll be spending the afternoon moving TO THE CLOUD. Have a spectacular day. It’s lovely & sunny in Toronto 🙂

(I’VE HAD) THE TIME OF MY LIFE

Last night at the SAY Media party for DX3 I had the time of my life playing with a parachute. It was so fun/cool/awesome, seriously. The band man is Rich Aucoin and here are his deets so you can follow him. Canadian and good looking too.   I was shaking the parachute with about a hundred other people. A bunch were in the middle and running from side to side as the parachute went up and down dancing the air. Charlotte from SAY emailed this photo to me after the show and I’m sure there are heaps more in cameras around. Right when photo was taken I was in this totally awesome childlike state where I swear I don’t know if I’ve ever had so much fun. It was absolute bliss. I’ve said it before and will again, the SAY Media team really know how to throw a party. In conversations last night I learned that lots of people were learning about the company for the first time. This is pretty rad for me because I’ve been working with them for almost a year now. I’m their Canadian ‘poster child’ for social & one of their passionate people building culture. I’ve mentioned them a few times on blog before. I think lots of old friends were surprised to see my face on their signage. “Hey look, that’s you“ I fell in love with how SAY Media really ‘get it’ the first time I received an email and checked out their site. They work with Passionate Voices connecting us with brands and stuff we like. Last year when I was an Android user, I did a national campaign with HTC. SAY is the first ever real advertising I hooked up with too. Those fancy video ads in my sidebar, that’s them. I’m heading to DX3 for day two today and will probably…

If not now, when?

Ask yourself this every single day.  I’m sitting in the Boston Logan Airport lounge listening to music and soaking up as much free wifi as a girl can. I got to thinking about life and goals and what I dreamed of doing and where I’m going. Not like, back to Toronto but where am I really going? I think January is a time everyone does that introspective look into their life and wonders, what am I doing? It’s probably also why people get sad and maybe have breakdowns! Last year in January I considered giving up blogging and getting a 9-5 job. I’m really glad I didn’t.  The last two years have been filled with all kinds of things I only ever dreamed would happen. How did I get to do them? How did I make them a reality? I feel inspired to tell you today. When I was in Australia at Uni (2004 & pre-blog) I often felt homesick. I missed my sister terribly and everyone from home seemed light years away. One fine day I went to a bookstore in search of  ‘something’ that would give me guidance or direction or make me feel better.  I picked up The Power of Kabbalah by Yehuda Berg, a book that claimed to be ‘technology for the soul’. I went home and read it cover to cover in one sitting, staying up all night, moving from couch to bed to floor until it was finished.  I was not raised religious and this book wasn’t about that at all. It was about the power of the universe and creating the life you wanted.  It was spiritual wisdom. It helped me realize that I could have everything I ever wanted. It helped me understand that I already did. As I embarked on this journey of self-discovery (I…

Extraordinary thing, The Internet

Turned off the awards show last night to watch one of my fav films, Closer feat Natalie, Clive, Julia and Jude. I love it. Natalie says she’s a ‘waif’ at the start of the film and The Waif’s are one of my fav Aussie bands. Turns out they’re from Perth like Sam. Today is a busy day shooting two things for two different tv networks (just my luck they’re both on the same day). These photos were sent to me last night from Javier Moltó in Madrid. We met last week in Detroit for the International Auto Show. I loved this song when I lived in Australia and was happily reminded of it last night. I really want to go to London. Attending & covering the Olympics would be a DREAM come true. Have a wonderful Monday. It’s nice to be back in town but I love that my international friends never feel that far away. Looking forward to tonight & hibernating. How many days till summer?
