can’t buy me love

8am, no problemo. Smilin’ & stylin’ in the sunshine w/ Brock before going to Rogers Daytime show. I’ve not seen it yet, I can’t seem to find it, PRV recorded a totally different Daytime show. Oh well. It was 2 seconds NBD. TV time, duck game face. This little one’s mama was on TV and she was pointing and saying “mama” to the TV. It was adorable. I hope my kids get to say that one day (my own show prefered just for the record). Somebody was here… Ally & Shannon chatting up the auction & Nella Bella live. I’m creepin. HI MUM! The other day my house was a studio. We were filming something for later this month. I love being on camera. When I was younger Jenie and I used to talk about being grown up and what we wanted to do. She was always ready to be in front of the camera and I wanted to be behind the scenes. I like the production of putting things together the organization, the directing. Times changed since then, I want to be on camera now. I always wanted to be well known for being good at something, I just never really knew what it was. Maybe I still don’t, but I will keep searching. I’m feeling a bit better today. I hope you feel good too 🙂 Title quote by Andy Warhol.

tiff day four: yesterday was fun, sh*t show, glitz show

Dolls. I don’t have much time to tell you about the bundles of fun I had yesterday. Film fest is really crazy awesome. Team Australia last night was HILAR. Tell you about that when I take a breather hopefully later betweek parties/films. Have not taken many photos as it’s totally not kosher to take pix when everyone is famous (unless you are doing something retarted or crazy). Team Australia. ILU. Steve Nash house party location was amazing. Only pic I took of scenery. Andy Warhol-ish Toronto artist hot shot amazing guy. P. Seymor Hoffman & cast on stage at Q&A post screening. I’m heading to a shopping date with Rayanne for NZFW clothes right now. Trying on stuff at Marks Work Wearhouse, crazy eh? I betcha I will find some things to style up. spinning the sunshine

I was looking at what I posted around this time last year and saw this video, same dress I’m wearing today. Around this time last year was the crazy Tamil protest on the Gardener I found love in a zombie tattoo I finally got a helmet and Porter was in town from the islands I played hopscotch on Queen Street I wrote about our generation and why we’re not lazy Posted on this exact day, May the Forth be With You 2009 I was in cartoon motion, dreaming of being a cartoon. I wore pants and a tuxedo shirt while biking to work. I wrote a really long run on sentence and through about Andy Warhol. I was closer to god (in a NIN animal kinda way) I played with Charlie in Kensington Market, vintage close & second hand books. I got my hair done before my birthday, suprisingly, I get my hair done today too 🙂 I love looking through old posts to remind myself of things and inspire me to keep creating new things. I’ve got a lunch date with the lovely Rayanne today and I’m really looking forward to it. Toot-a-loooooooo!!!!!!

I watch more then I listen, but I dig the Gossip Girl style. Always dressed up, classy. I started K.C’s book today. Gonna read a little more before bed. I’m about twenty pages and into it. Her attitude is totally refreshing. She doesn’t put up with whiny, negative, bitchy, complainers, and she knows what she’s doing because she worked at it. I find her to be quite admirable and I’m looking forward to seeing her IRL. Feeling the spring fever. It’s lovely walking to work in the brightness. Great way to start the day. Ramping up stuff for the magazine at work. Toronto Blog Girl stuff is picking up speed. My Harajuku Girls are coming by Friday learn about blogging. What they don’t know yet is that I’m putting them to WORK. Fairy Blog Mother. Today I am wearing a dress from Shop My Clothes that’s by a Japanese designer. I love the print heaps, very springy. It was really long so I chopped it and used the excess fabric to make a circle scarf. Black Betsy Johnson tights from Winners. Gold boots were black leather from Vintage 69. I spray painted them gold. Andy Warhol used to do that. Trench, cardigan, & heart locket are from H&M. Bag was a gift Calvin Klein. THANKS! I’m a judge in this FAB contest from Peach Beserk. on the edge: martin streek

Rode against the wind the whole time and my hair is frizzy like Andy Warhol. My teeth hurt from wearing my retainer. I don’t mind because they are so straight when I wake up. I haven’t dealt with death that much, lucky me I guess. My family is all in New Zealand so if someone passes, I’m not there to be with them. That’s unlucky. My high school had a really high suicide rate. Yesterday Martin Streek, my fav man at the Edge called it quits. I saw Shane‘s Facebook and was shocked when I read his blog and got the story. I used to run into Martin and his smiling face often. We made friends one summer. My most fond memories are the summer days when Jenie and I used to go down to The Edge and hangout out with him while he did the Thursday 30. It was so much fun, as soon as he saw our faces he would say ‘OMG, it’s the Stewart Sisters, you guys are so hot’ . We’d give hugs & hang. He was always full of smiles and jokes. I’ve gotta find the photos now, I think I know where they are. He will be missed by me, was always my favorite man on the radio. I remember the Jager tattoo, he was really fit for his age. Nice eyes too. Rest in peace my friend. FYI: There’s Martin Streek nooner on the Edge today. I’m listening live. ♥

closer to god

The day begins to come to an end and I find my mind wandering, wondering. I listen to CBC Classical online. I feel relaxed and look forward to riding home and the breeze in my hair. I’m picking up my Edie Sedgwick dress from Peach Beserk this evening. Made to order and tailored to fit. I always liked Andy Warhol, as long as I can remember. I was walking through this outdoor mallway over the weekend, I think it’s beautiful.Listening to this music I feel inspired to write, to read more Ogden Nash and to create things that never existed before. My coffee is warm and so is the air around me. It’s comforting and leaves me feeling safe. My shoulders are bare and the light is barely coming through the clouds. I really love the movie Closer, there is something so real about the relationships between the characters and their melancholy love tales. Natalie, Clive, Jude and Julia, good kids. I feel it in my legs, the biking from yesterday. Tomorrow there is a Billabong sample sale at 67 Mowat Avenue. Two weeks ago I wished they would have one so I could get a new bathing suit for my birthday, then I got an email a couple days later. Thank you universe, you listen to my thoughts and you bring me closer.

today i am feeling a bit of a cold and possibly by the news reports with all the tragedy and gun fights that happened last night some others are feeling cold too i’m staying in all day and i’m wearing a pirate shirt and i put the zombie tattoo on again last night because i love it i’ve got pen and paper and links in my fingers to share and i’m going to write about things that i like because that is what like to do and it makes me happy when i do it and i’m glad to know that other people like reading it because there is nothing more fun than making art and sharing it with people you like andy warhol told me once that being good in business is the best kind of art and i totally agree with that its the best and most free that you can be just creating things and putting it out there

Smart Marketing from Netflix w/ #SantaClaritaDiet

A couple weeks ago I saw these posts popping up on Instagram with #santaclaritydiet from influencers in the US. All the posts had hashtags like #Fitspo#NewYearNewYou #Hello2017#ImGonnaKillIt and then I was like what the hell is this diet? And what’s with the blood? Well, we all know now that Santa Clarita Diet is a new show from Netflix and it starts TOMORROW. Drew Barrymore is the mum and something happens and then she is ‘undead’. Tune into Netflix tomorrow to see what’s next. Netflix consistently makes great shows so I always give them spin. Also, since I spend so much time binge watching, we can easily can kill a season in a weekend. Here’s the Santa Clarita Diet ‘Starter Kit’ they sent me: I really appreciate a good marketing package and Netflix consistently blows it out of the park. One year for Valentines they sent a House of Cards themed package to go along with the season launch. Another time then sent custom House of Cards Against Humanity. At Christmas once they sent a Bill Murray Christmas sweater and Netflix show themed wrapping paper. For award season one year they sent this package to play bingo and slippers for my guests.
