Last night was a blast. I can’t believe how many good looking MO bro’s we have in our city. Ok let’s do this. Then it was stage time and things got a weeee crazier…yes, that’s a bare bum Borat. Adam was like “Dude, get off stage, that’s gross”. Haha. She was a bull. Love that idea. I have crazy awesome friends who do really cool things. Today and everyday, I’m thankful for the things I have and peoole around me. I thought hey, why not let you know about some of that awesomism? what are you wearing? i dunno. i just put stuff on.

I wore cute tights today. It was sunny bright outside. Sabrina’s Mum sent these tights from Hawaii. My Mum said she is hoping to send something from NY when they stop there on the big sailing adventure. If anything I hope she picked up something from a second hand store. She’s got great style and always knows good things for my sister and I. MISS YOU MUM. Call me when you get phone or internet. It was quite windy out today as well… I went to an ofice for a meeting and heard “oh look at you” then “you are like a Blossom but in 2010”. I forget that most office settings don’t wear funky outfits with hats and tights and scarves and stuff all different colours. I forgo and I am glad that I forgot. You should forget too. Dress fun and be unique. Working from home, I feel is the best thing for personal stle. Mind you, my room is messier than ever and I find motivation to clean it is nonexistent. Everytime I leave the house I throw together a mish-mash of things and accessories, hats, scarves and jewels galore. Every time I leave the house I am in costume, I am playing a part, I am me. This is my life. You are always someone when you leave the house, you are someone different on Monday morning than you were on Sunday morning (especially if hungover!). Your Friday afternoon self is different from holiday dinner self or your Sunday with Nana self. We are changing all the time. Lets hope it’s always for the better. SERVED! Big big thanks to Smirnoff Canada for hosting another great event! The Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project has been travellin’ around 14 countries (Canada, USA, Great Britain, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Germany, India, Ireland, Lebanon, Poland, South Africa, Thailand and Venezuela). I would LOVE to go to one of the parties outside of Canada. Hellooooo nurse!!! Remember the last Smirnoff party I went to in the summer? the most annoying thing you could ever ask me

“what are you up to these days? how is everything going?” What does that even mean? Really? Like, how is EVERYTHING going? Well, let me think, do you have all day to sit down and listen to me tell you? Would you like for me to re-write my daily blog in an email? Do you even really wanna know? Could you not just have looked at my profile on any zillion social networks and seen where I work or that I recently uploaded photos and went to a party or two. Facebook makes it so easy for old friends acquaintances to see what you’ve been up to. So, why do people ask such general and impersonal questions? If you’re my friend on FB you’ll be used to seeing my little square face in your news feed with photos, blog posts and status updates. IF we’re friends, (emphasis on the IF) it’s pretty easy to see what someone’s been up to. I always check a friends profile before I message them, that’s what Facebook is for! Duh. So, when and old friend asks “what are you up to these days? how’s everything going?” I think to myself, we must not be friends and you probably don’t care. This weekend was a good one for me. I didn’t clean my room (like planned) or have thanksgiving dinner but I did make changes to my blog, hang out with friends and do a radio show. just call me domestic diva

oh em gee, a baby! You wouldn’t normally say “domestic” with me in mind, I’m usually the opposite. Not really into cooking, children, cleaning and stuff like that. However, last night I cleaned my room, vacuumed and made a hearty butternut squash soup…from scratch! It startes like this, boiling the squash then peeling and putting in blender with magic ingredients before letting it simmer on the stove. Very tasty. If you wanna try just ask! I’m actually pretty good at cooking, Mum taught me well. The thing is, when you’re single, cooking for one person isn’t really that fun. I love entertaining (surprised?) and having people over, that’s when my Martha skills come out. How hot is Sabrina working our new LG Kompressor unit. Dayum grrrl! This thing sucks like a mofo. Our house is like mad clean atm. You can sleep on the carpets. I have to keep it that was cause a crew is coming to film at my place for an upcoming project on Monday. Tres exciting 🙂 Ok, TED afternoon session is about to start! I’m ready to be INSPIRED! Hope you are having a wonderful day. PS: I’m not affraid of babies anymore. nothing like sleeping in your own bed again

I stayed up late after I arrived home last night, couldn’t sleep. I got into my leopard snuggie and watched all last week’s episodes of the Young and the Restless in a row. Slept till two in the avo today and feeling quite energized now. I’ve gotta clean up all the goodies I have scattered around the house. My Kiwi friends wanted to know what the view was like from my house. It’s quite cloudy today but you get the idea. This is the CN tower. Puts Aucklands SkyCity tower to shame, sorry kids. They do have the tallest free standing in the Southern Hemisphere though. May-jah traffic here. This is the airport, Porter Airlines I told you about. Really great airline. Stylish outfits & great service. Good thing I have this spankin’ new LG Kompressor Vacuum to help me clean up the mess from dumping my suitcase and heaps of NZ goodies on the floor. It makes this cute sound when you turn it on. Happy to add it to my many gadgets around the house. The handle actually works wirelessly with batteries to turn it on! Is that not the coolest thing eva? Ok, well the coolest thing in vacuum technology mate! I’m sure there are probably much better models now though, taking a look at review sites for wireless vacuums over at sites such https://allgreatvacuums.com/best-cordless-sweeper-reviews-for-floor-and-carpets/ could help you find your next cool vacuum too! I’m so happy to be home. I loved NZ and hope to get back in the next year but my gosh, it’s great to be home. Last night was fun. I was with Carly, Down With Webster boys, Brock, and some socialy types. Ran into Randall from MuchMusic & Matt the DWW boys stylist and other cool people. These are my friends. wake me up when (my) september (dream) ends

This September kicks off a bright start the the next few months. I’ve got a full calendar until Christmas! After that, I’m thinking about a vacation but who knows where I will be by that time. I only ever imagine I would be where I am right now. Look up at the sky, be thankfull. The beauty of working for myself is that as long as I keep living and have internet access, I’m working. I promise myself to make the most of each day, set high goals and document it. September is a ver exciting time in Toronto as we host the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). I’ve not gotten an movie tickets and I need to get on that. I’ve been invited to some pretty neat stuff in Yorville during the day throughout the festival. Wasn’t able to attend before cause I was working for THE MAN, now, going to that stuff is my JOB! I am THE MAN. The next three months go like this (GenYTO & TweetgasmTO are in there for both Sept. & Oct. somewhere too)… Sept. 9-17: Toronto International Film Fest Sept. 18-28: New Zealand Fashion Week Sept. 30: TEXxTO Conference Sept. 30-Oct 3: Boston Friends visit TO Oct.4: Contract with TrendHunter (3 Months Oct-Dec) Dec: Go visit Mum in Bahamas on the Boat for Christmas. Working on something else cool for October that I will share next week. So many thing on the go that Google Calendar & Tasks are my new BFF. First of all, thank you everyone that came out last night. It was one of the most epic GenYTO night’s we’ve had. It was HUUUUGE! I arrived early and there were already a few peeps ready to get the party started. Soon as 8pm rolled around, the sun was setting and a steady flow of people filled the London Tap House patio. Before we knew it, we had a full on PARTIO happening. There are five of us on the organizing team and we all have red marked name tags, they are Erin (above with Jonathan), Renee (below) , Daniel & Dave. Dave in the pink shirt. I met a heap of new people who were happy to be attending a GenYTO for the first time. Heard comments all night about how many new faces there were around. I love that. This group started in Feb. 2009 with about 30 people meeting at an uptown bar near Young and Eglington. Last night, our guest list topped 300 and there was lineup to get in for part of the night. Amazing, eh! There were lots of babes around too. That’s Daniel on the right beside tattoo’d stud. Fiiiiine ladies. Digging this track reco from @JoelReilly, below. He made this for me today. I’m from downtown and I’m here on a mission.

HI. The good news is: EVERYTHING. Ahhh. Working hard will get you places. Creativity and a positive attitude (really) help too. I’ve not commented much on the Klout thing. I might have mentioned a while back when Bre was making a stink about Klout, wondering how they rank, etc. Klout is the ‘Online Standard for Influence’. If you don’t know what I’m talking about checking out this list of 10 Most Influential Tweeters in Toronto (I’m on there #6). Earlier this summer I got a free flight from Virgin American & Klout. (Vote for me in the contest here.) I couldn’t manage to make the trip while at my old job so I never used it. I bet all the people who cried about not getting one would hate to hear that! Yesterday an article was published in Tech Vibes by Jas Banwait (who didn’t get a flight) about Klout, influence, and measurement. People who didn’t get flights seem to really have lots of opinions on Klout. Those of us who did, just seem grateful. The world is a funny place. It was a free thing and it certainly got people talking. I’ve asked my share of questions about Klout and I think what they are doing is pretty neat. I find it all quite interesting. Social media & measurement, social and the connection with new media. The measurement of something so new and massive without regulation is hard. I have always been a social person involved in lots of things with lots of friends. The internet just gave me a microphone, it allowed me to amplify my voice. Ok, part 2… The bad news is: NOTHING. I’m a delegate at the TEDxTO conference in September. YAHOOOOO! I’m really looking forward to attending. I missed the application deadline last year…

Hipster Hop: @vicecanada & @INQmobile Pheromone Party

Now this was a fun time. INQ Mobile & Vice teamed up to throw this donut party complete with bottled pheromones to turn up the temperature even hotter. Gimme pheromone pumps girl. The party was for a new phone. I didn’t really get to try it out. Open bar, good tunes and more babes with beards than I could handle. Fritz Helder & crew. (Note beards/babes ratio – told ya!) Party was at Airship 37, a warehouse just south of the Distillery. Team Stewart happening here. Good Looks obvs run in the family. Hottest photog ever w/ Violca from Masion. I brought my business cards as you can see. Hi cuties. This babe was the art director of the party. He just flew in from France. He was very cute. He had a strong French accent. The World’s Largest Wakeboarding Festival

I am so excited. However, I am sure that does not surprise you. Haven’t had a weekend away with a bunch of girls in years. We’re staying at the Mountain Springs Resort (with the bands I believe), have a driver, back stage passes, media all access, Zeugari swimwear, and more good stuff we don’t even know about yet. THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS PEOPLE.

I tried to pull myself away from the computer, thinking I need a damn break. I was feeling all meh. I played Sims Miami party on Nintendo DS in bed, attempted to sketch book, played with phone, paced around, tried not to snack. I found myself back at the computer again and again and that’s where I started putting out good vibes. Do you know what happened next? THEY CAME BACK. A whole slew of good stuff happened today and it flipped my shit mood right on it’s damn stupid head. THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS PEOPLE. Like attracts like. I am so happy right now everytime I get nervous that ‘maybe I can’t do it’ or ‘how the heck is this gonna work’ I remind myself that I can and I will. I finally have the freedom to work on exactly what projects I want, with whom and when. I have dreamed of this and I will not let you down, I will not let me ME down. I close my eyes, cover them with my hands and repeat “this is my life, this is my life“. I got VIP tickets to Metric tonight outta the blue from my gonna-meet-tonight-first-time-new-friend from my home town. Oh internet, I love you so. I love this song too. Playin’ on repeat.
