too cool for school and lots to learn

I met so many people, got to have meetings around the place. It’s really cool guys. I mean really cool. It’s much different from working in an old factory loft for an online gaming company.  It’s a big place, a really big place. It’s it’s like a maze filled with new people, news and lots of TV’s. My wrist arthritis  is hurting. Whining. Had to ice it and yes mum I put on the Arnica.  I could use a big box of Aleve or a Tylenol Arthritis sponsorship. I feel like  a Nana. Maybe it’s the rain. I was informed the same rainbow puking unicorn I posted the other day showed up on Postsecret. Was it one of you guys? It wasn’t me. On Friday we had drinks at School bakery & cafe bar in Liberty Village beside the old office. I had been there about a week earlier to meet a friend for lunch. A girl was taking photos  that day and then I showed up in a review of School in the Globe & Mail last week.  Check ‘er out.

natural chic magnet

Last week I got a new mascara in the mail as a member of  Chick Advisor’s Product Review Club. ChickAdvisor is a girls resource for reviews and advice on stuff they like. It made my lashes longer. It’s  lite on your lashes, soft almost. It’s a good day mascara. I do two coats. It brushes on nicely. The brush is a combination between that skinny plastic kind d the fluffier brush one. My lashes feel soft and not all mascara-ish. I would use it again.  My current favorite is the vibrating mascara, it’s a bit more expensive. Twitter came out with lists yesterday. I made one list so far it is a growing collection of Toronto Blog Girls. I’m on a couple lists made by other including Toronto Twitterati, Social Community Alliance and Toronto Arts. I got a really lovely shout out this week from my penpal Hillzy on her blog.  Keep blogging sista! Big thanks to Two Belt & E1E ♥

why is it always so hard to remember them

I had a really interesting dream last night. I moved to this house in Montreal. It was huge. I shared a really big room with a friend but it wasn’t small it was really big. It had it’s own bathroom. There were lots of things around the house from the people who  lived there before.  Maybe they still lived there. The house was really old too. There were a bunch of people that lived there. Madison Mitchell lived there and I saw her in action. There was a trap door under the floor near my bed that had a room with four bunk beds.  I had so much closet space to put all my clothes that I wanted more and more. The house was near a ski hill and it was winter. I wish I had that much closet space, today is closet organizing day.New rack will be delivered in about an hour.  The goal is all clothes have a home. Good luck to me.

the only rule: don’t spill it

Last night I stopped into The Hazelton for Macallan Scotch tasting.  Wasn’t sure if I was gonna to make it through. I thought, ‘I don’t know if I can handle drinking scotch but I’m sure going to try’. I had a good time at the vodka tasting last time. I arrived with Keri and sat down right across from Cheryl who I know as @Cherrysberries. We had a lovely Quebecois man named Mark showing us the Macallan. It wasn’t long before I spotted a bunch of familiar faces around the room… Toronto bloggers Zucket & Hyfen Twitter peeps Jingle_jangle,  _topshelf, Reado & Karmacake Some things I learned: pay attention to how the scotch feels in your mouth distilled beer is whiskey women have better sense of smell takes 12 years to make a 12 year whiskey no right or wrong way to drink scotch don’t put it in the freezer ice ball has less surface area than an cube and melts slowly The whole time I was tasting these I thought “I love scotch. Scotchy, scotch, scotch. Mmm, mmm, mmm. Here it goes down, down into my belly.” haha Macallan 12 – added water, comes from Spanish oak, little bit of wood smoke, valinna woith hints of ginger, smooth palet, sweet toffee finish, dried fruit… Macallan 15 – fine oak – lighter in colour Macallan 18 – fine sherry oak, darker Macallan 21 – like a fine ballerina on stage exquisite single malt Whiskey stones are better than icecubes. If you don’t get the expensive ones you can go to Lake Ontario, bend down, pick up some stones, wash with wiskey, put in the freezer, use as ice rocks. To ensure they don’t ruin their wood supply, they don’t cut more than they plant; they plan ahead 100 years for…

Something made is just the best. When someone makes you a card and you get it, it’s like, totally amazing.  Jenie painted me a watercolor card at Christmas. It was beautiful. She sent a survey: The Casie Stewart-vey ♥ V.1.0 CS 2009 Here’s just a few of my answers: Q1) Favorite colour: green Q4) I firmly believe: 1) you can achieve if you believe 2) in love 3) it doesn’t hurt to be easy on the eyes Q5) If  I could pack up and leave Toronto, I would go: back to Bondi Beach, Australia Q9) Things I must have in my handbag: 1) smartphone 2) pen/pencil/sharpie 3) sunnies Q10) My favorite part of the day is: when the sun shines through the clouds I got out the art box and there’s lots of goodies in there and I’m gonna send something back now. wild things: i rememeber it different

I guess we all do. The book’s not many pages, some with only pictures of wild things and a rumpus. What’s is a rumpus really? We all remember the book and love it. Loved it. My mum hated it at first, not feeding the child his dinner and then the monsters. Saw Where the Wild Things Are in IMAX last night. Cruised Chapters before the movie and read the soft cover  to refresh my mind. In my memory it was a wild adventure of excitement, travel  and friendship. After twenty years, I only  remembered a feeling and not much of the storyline. The book is surprisingly short. It was better in my mind. It  it always is. I’m glad I saw it.  We didn’t stay for the whole thing. I know Max gets his dinner at the end. The voices were good, especially Kevin’s mom from Home Alone, Forest Whitaker and Chris Cooper (the weird kids Dad from American Beauty).  The wild thing kid is the is actually named Max in real life. Go see it and be gentle with criticism, it will always be better in your memory. I’m really glad it’s in a movie now and would like to own a copy. The IMAX speaker & sound intro was really fun for me., it was my first time. Keep calm and carry on wild things… Go on follow my blog with bloglovin

it’s warm in my heart and my little red tights

I woke up in a great mood. It’s good day I can feel it. Had a nice brekky at Roastery with Jeff,  they have the best music. if google was my boyfriend

I forgot something I said to Keri last night when we were hanging  out so I Tweeted her to remember. I had a three-way on Skype with Bob in Atlanta and Ellen in Boston, then Keri joined in from my place. I miss the famous Mayor of Twitter so I Google Waved him hello. Sabrina’s letting me pick out my Christmas present so I shop online and send it to her over MSN. I also don’t know if I’ve won the Build a Bash party yet so I obsessively Tweet at them and upload Twitpics of me visiting their site. I send photos to Posterous that update to a Facebook album and then post to Twitter. ride that wave right into the sunset baby

I’m proud to announce, I have Google Wave invites. I love Google and I’ve said it before. I think Google is a company that understands how humans communicate and interact and they are consistent in their efforts to make it easier for us. Also, Google stuff is very affordable so that everyone can participate making it something adopted by pretty much everyone online. I’m not exactly how it happened but I imagine it’s related to my natural socialness and all the other stuff I do involving the internet.  I announced it on Twitter and now I’ve got a bunch of people requesting and I’m not sure who to give away the last few to? I have a contest open right now to and all you have to do is tell me what you love…you can enter it here. I’ve contacted a few people and if they don’t get back shortly I’ll move down the Wave list and maybe I’ll shoot you an invite too. Comments are good luck 🙂

i think this brain would be pretty tasty

Zombies……I can’t stop thinking about them…. As soon as it turned October, it’s like my body knows it’s Halloween and I wanna dress up and wear masks and makeup and wigs and stuff. I don’t like scary movies or blood and gore but I love to dress up Zombie. The walk is coming up Oct. 24th. There’s gong to be a bunch of us and I’d love you to join in the bloody fun. I saw some photo’s on Tony’s blog of the Hollywood Walk last week and I’m pretty sure that’s what got my Zombie thoughts into overdrive. One more thing… I mentioned a while ago that fellow blogger and comic drawer extraordinaire Mr. Sean Ward has taken up residence in San Francisco.  His crew just produced this new video. Check ‘er out! Have a great day 🙂

giving feels so good

In my house growing up, we weren’t religious. I remember be nice, share, give, say thanks.  Mum and Dad raised us to be good kids. This week was Pay it Backward Day and I did good with hundreds of others across Ontario. I’m waiting to find out the final count of just how many wonderful people participated. The Queen and John location alone had over 1,000! I got a heads up from a friend about an Ontario Tourist Attractions photo contest on Lenzr sponsored by Kanetix insurance and mortgage quotes. You send in a photo of anything in Ontario you think tourists should see. (Me?) The winner gets a $200 American Express gift card and second prize gets $100. Uh, that’s awesome. Who doesn’t love cash? This big unit is one of my favorite attractions. The lights dance every hour on the hour through the night and it’s just beautiful. Go to  Lenzr to enter.

dita von teese casie stewart perez hilton sandwich

Twitter is a great for communicating directly with anyone or to a large audience. Here’s  an example of someone famous saying something and another famous person’s famous blog with me in the middle. Last night, Dita tweeted that ‘when russian hookers fight, they take off a shoe and throw it at their foe. FYI.’ I was like whoa man that’s crazy and replied ‘you’re at a hooker fight?’ Then she replied. ` Today Perez Hilton posted about Dita and ‘the fight’ mentioning her response to ME.  Didn’t link back to me but whatever,  the tweet lasts forever 😛 Thanks to Pam for pointing it out, rarely read Perez anymore. I’d loved Dita for ages and think that’s pretty cool. p.s. Check out in the latest Notable TV video from TEDxTO. Me and my outfit are at 2:46 🙂

a productive means of communication

It’s Friday, thankfully. I feel like this week is a month… I got mad yesterday. Really mad. It was like everyone who crossed my path was out to make me angry and it worked. I’m a pretty happy girl as you know but I just couldn’t fight it this time. Also, someone in my office keeps tipping off my boss about me being on Twitter… not fun. I’m productive. I get my stuff done here. I don’t understand why someone is out to get me! Gah. Perhaps she should spend her time looking up erp software so everyone ELSE can be more productive too? Sheesh. She would be better off looking up a manufacturing software even though that’s not our business. Lots of packing to do this weekend before moving next week. Gonna need some help as my back seems to have two fractures in it.  I need an MRI now. Tragic, I know. I feel like watching the Breakfast Club or Annie Hall and curling up on the couch. Something to make me feel good. The air outside is cool and breezy,  my dress blows pretty in the wind.  I miss summer vacation. Is it 5 yet?

leave that nine to five up on the shelf

Leaving 15 minutes earlier didn’t get us here any faster. National Car Free day but CP24 was showing massive traffic. Feel like it’s gonna be a productive one. Wore my wellies, there’s a rain-a-coming. Had a good sleep, back’s getting better. Feeling quite creative today.Might paint tonight. Time for a new sketch book again. I’ve filled up two every quarter for the past year. Found out I’m getting the new CK for men in the mail soon. Will have some samples too. I hope i comes in a big box. I wonder what catering will bring for lunch today. I’m reading a new book by Tucker Max. There’s a movie coming out of it. Pretty hilarious. I really should write down more stories. The ones that go untold and would never  be published here. I’ve done some pretty ridiculous and hilarious things. I’m thankful for all my experiences as they make me who I am today. I’m behind on FB & email messages, will get to that later. Gonna check a few bitches off my list so I feel good when lunch rolls in. Have a GREAT day! Bye. p.s. Happy Birthday to my twabe Rachel a.k.a @stealingkitty in Texas she turns 40 today! I sang her happy birthday on 12 seconds this morning 🙂 Love ya xo

bono sang me to sleep last night

The U2 concert was loud enough to hear distant vocals and the buzz  of the crowd cheering from my bedroom.  Took some pain medicine and passed out. It was only the second time the roof has been open for a concert ever. I taked to a guy the other day about the shape of the roof and how the sky done was built. He mentioned this really cool flat roof he was working on. I ove how rain sounds on a metal roof. The tower was lit up to match the show. Bet those were some pricey Concert Tickets to get. Some rad aerial photos from the show here.  I finally got a good sleep and woke up in less pain than the day before. The future is bright! I read an interesting post today from Erin on the Sprouter blog.  I’ve been getting emails and calls from friends not yet using this stuff saying “Casie, I need to  set up Twitter/Blog stuff  for my business.  Help me, help me”. The thing is, just setting up a Twitter account or blog is not going to generate a presence online, save your brand or make you money. Social media is more than just being online, it really is about being social. You gotta put yourself out there (and stay out there) online AND offline to get the social media results you’re looking for. Like everything else, it takes work. I apologize on behalf of Kanye the Douche, he interrupted my site yesterday. Yours too? Urgh, that guy,  SO annoying. I came in to the office to see Mum had sent me a email with a Health Warning. I assumed it was serious and then…oh Mum, so funny! p.s. Entertaining stuff on my Tumblr & Borderline Artistic blogs and my Twitter stream…

that was a night and a half, lets do it again!

Whoa. I had the kind of night filled with excitement that less fortunate souls dream of. Kinda feel like I’m still there… I was gonna tidy/pack while watching television at home alone…UNTIL…. I got a message from the famous Shawn Hawaii inquiring about the Sprout Up. Was I attending? I was now. Threw on an outfit. (Mum knit the vest in the 1970’s). Jumped on the trolley and headed to meet Hawaii. First stop, Sprouter SproutUp in Yorkville. If you like being surrounded by smart entrepreneurs and cool people, go next time. You’ll thank me. It’s Oct 14th, second Wednesday. Don’t worry, I’ll remind you. Second stop was the Globe’s Beatles party at the Berkley Church.  The party was fun and we got a killer giftbag with the new Beatles Blueray disk. I also got flowers. Yeah, awesome! We cruised to the Annex for a bite and beer and then took it up a notch in the Distillery district.  Belmont cigarettes was throwing an entertainment industry party. Knew about a zillion people and I still have drink tickets in my purse if you want them. Ran into stylish Ms. Sass from Zucket.com among many other notables including PJ Phil! Belmont has some sexy new skinny cigarettes and I snagged a bunch of packs.  At home I put on my Super Woman costume and danced around. Oh, who , will I be at Twestival on Saturday?? Did you get your tickets for Saturday yet? Sheesh, do it now. I’m paying $5 of your night, use CASIE as your promo code. It’s ON A BOAT! Tonight is TedxTO party at Brasaii and the opening of TIFF. It’s definitely going to be Notable. RSVP here if you haven’t yet. See you on the red carpet! Bring your camera! p.s. Quite Waldo-ish today 🙂

celebrate your economic & social achievements!!

She’s such little darling that Sabrina, after her hair was done she put on a nice dress and went for a stroll. She picked me up a little notebook that reminded her of the Twitter bird, funky pen and a new eyeliner. Made the day even brighter. Early in the day yesterday I was thinking, I’d like to go to a party. Like a good ol’ house party with a BBQ, patio, good music and all the shit. Well, be careful what you wish for, thoughts become things…………… Some of Beans’ friends from uni were having a shindig. There was a brand new deck and was “time to stomp on it” as I was told. Food was cooked on the new BBQ and was delish. THANKS GUYS! Met a cute girl with the same name. Once in a while I meet a boy Casey or a  dog. Quite rare I reckon. How many do you know? My blogging friend Muireann Carey-Campbell is heading back to England and having her send off tonight at Czehoski. After that it’s off to the Labour Day Rock Out Party at Tattoo. If you’re around come! LONG WEEKEND WOOT!

you never met a M.F. quite like me

I wanted to go see Kid Rock over the Killers cause I love his wild-whisky-drinking-country-singing-long-hair-badass style. He was wearing a leather shirt with rhinestones when he started. Serious swooning over here. We caught about 20 minutes of Lynard Skynard. He has some serious muscles. I’m not sure how old he is buyt from my seat he looked FIT. The first sound I heard from the stage when K.Rock came on was one of my favorite songs ever. I taped it for you: More videos are uploading. Will add later. This one drunk guy said “is this like the good looking girl section”, nice pick up line buddy. ‘We’re all married” I said. There were so many drunken mullets and wire beaters. Good entertainment! Jenie ran into Kory and Lisa and bunch of other girls I know from back home in Cambridge. We crammed them in our box but then the security girl kicked them out. A few got to stay for the rest of the show. Fun times 🙂 I also got a $50 for Subway which is pretty rad. The Jets are so loud. They keep zipping right above our condo and scaring the bejebas out of me. Heading to the Lake to read my book and watch them overhead. Have a great day! Big party at Tattoo Rock Parlor on Sunday night hosted by the Magen Boys.  If you’re in the city on this fine weekend, come. Shawn Hawaii, my boy is DJ and I’ll be cuttin’ a rug on the dance floor! Facebook invite is here.

turn upside down and shake the creative salt

This is my favorite quote of the day: “There’s a lot to be said for not giving two flying fuck’s Mr. Darwin.” It’s from my book, I’ve been reading Generation A by Douglas Coupland. I like it. It’s interesting.  He Tweets.  I quite enjoyed a this bit of the book today when one of the characters, Zack said “To cope with this realization I chose nature’s ultimate ego-preservation tool: I chose not to give a shit”. This book had a good story to me before I even cracked the spine. I won’t tell you after I read it. I love this time of year when the seasons change. Magic.

i will not be paid in butter chicken or fancy lunch

It’s a good day. Sun on my face, wind in my hair. The air is cool yet fresh. I feel good. On my way in I was thinking about being social. Last week I was at The League of Kickass Business People at The Social, being social, talking about social media. After that I went to the Refresh Events Summer social. I could not get ‘social’ out of my head. Social, social social. Social Media. Social Influence. Social good. They all roll off the tongue and leave you with a feeling of happiness. There is one thing that I’ve been talking about lately with people is – how do you put a price on social media? It’s difficult when it’s all includes user-generated content (UGC) or consumer-generated media (CGM). It’s hard to put a price on something that is hard to define. Wikipedia says Social media can be said to have three components; Concept (art, information, or meme). Media (physical, electronic, or verbal). Social interface (intimate direct, community engagement, social viral, electronic broadcast or syndication, or other physical media such as print). I’ve been putting quite a bit of thought into this over the past few months and especially since I saw the social media revolution video. I’m gonna think about it more and come back to it. In the mean time, do you follow me on Twitter & Facebook?

woke up thinking it smells like back to school

Part 1 Woke up thinking I don’t want to share what I think/feel today. I’m gonna tell a story, not sure what but a story. Then I have several messages regarding a Twittascope Tweet (Twitter/Horoscope). I have trouble accessing the site, so I get ready, leave and have no idea what it says. Part 2 Riding in the sunshine I hear “get off that bike, that’s nnot your bike”. Familiar face, man, beard, bike, running with dog on leash, he works near me. The bells are ringing and the GO train was fastly approaching. She raced it and crossed the tracks. She looked homeless and dressed in Mugatu Derilict. I asked if he wanted me to hold the dog so he could chase her. I see cops everyday when I ride around Liberty and was she she would not get away. I peddled hard across the tracks after the train and went after. No idea what I would do. I dreamed of throwing a side kick from my bike and knocking her down. Locking my bike while she scrambled then riding off on his to return it. However, I just followed her. Saw a police car and knew she was on the other side of  the car park.  Yelled out to him “she stole that bike”. Told him it was my friends and he was chasing her.  He went to get her. Part 3 Taurus (Apr 20 – May 20) Your key planet Venus is encouraging you to boldly state your feelings out loud today. But you should think twice before doing something that can upset the delicate balance of power. Your life is already complicated enough; you don’t need to add another layer of emotional drama on top of everything else. Acknowledge your desires, but consider keeping them to…

because when it’s quiet the only sound is the voice in my head

Rain today. Calming, refreshing, inspiring. I wear earphones to block out the noise. No noise. Silence helps me connect my thoughts. Creative thoughts. Creative thoughts on making things. Making things creative. waiting……………………………#borderlineartistic on 12seconds.tv On the way in I saw an adorable old woman with a cane who had just placed a ‘P’ sign on the sidewalk in front of her house. There was already one car parked on the lawn. “That’ a great idea” I shouted. There are a few people around the are doing it while the CNE is on. We wanted to do that at my old house on the Danforth during Taste of the Danforth since we lived right where the action was. We never ended up doing it because we always had friends over. They parked in the spots. I should have invited them over and said “hi friends, thanks for coming. It’s $10 to park here” . Haha, funny money. The sun just came out. Wore two different socks today. Happy Wednesday 🙂
