COMMUNITY 54 – From NY To Parkdale

Stopped by the Community 54 space in Parkdale the other day (Queen west of Dufferin). It was opened a couple months ago and features a wide mix of vintage & new clothes with a pile of old school artifacts you might find at granddad’s garage sale. I picked up a sweet & long vintage dress for summer. Wore it to Canadian Club Whisky tour. The Official: Community 54 is your neighborhood lifestyle boutique inspiring nostalgia through creativity. From classic arcade games and vintage street wear, to indie clothing brands and contemporary art, our space is a destination for curators of unique collectibles. It’s a place where culture mavens and social connectors interact with local artists and designers. First established in the Lower East Side of Manhattan by partners Daymon Green and Jason Jacobs, Community 54’s two locations are a manifestation of years of sharing ideas and a common entrepreneurial drive. Friday is my blog’s 7th birthday and next month is my 30th birthday. I KNOW! Crazy. I feel like a child so often that I can hardly believe I’m about to cross over to a new decade. I welcome it with open arms! I’m not sure WHAT to do but I’ve entered a contest w/ TripOn and the winner gets a free trip for 32 of their friends anywhere TripOn operates.  Vote here and I’ll happily bring a bunch of you, friends from the internet, along for the ride and party. Got a lotta crooks tryna steal your heart… Loving this track. Thank you Spotify for recommending new songs I didn’t know. People in Canada be hatin’ that I have a Spotify account but TBH, I don’t care what you say. I LOVE Spotify! We biked to the beach yesterday. It was SUCH a beautiful for a ride to the East. Was totally packed. Surprised by how many peeps were in the water. It’s safe I hear. I jus’ dipped in to cool off. Sun was real warm. This dog had the hugest balls ever. It was shocking. Fo’ reals. Not even joking. Took James Dean with me but my Wind stick didn’t feel like working so we were offline. Phone was dead too which was interesting because I was 100% no communicato. I had great company and it was nice to take a tech break. I usually find it harder and start scratching or something. Haha. Today I’m hitting up the Jays game with Keri, Lauren & some peeps. Blondetourage does sporting events too 🙂 Have an awesome day! Still one more day of long weekend. Make the most of it! Next update from a box at the Rogers Centre/Sky Dome. <3 CASIE

Best sleep of my life last night. Ocean, I love you. Your melodies were the perfect lullaby. Best bed ever. Huge wooden headboard is my love. So beautiful. Went walking Pensacola Beach by myself last night. It was so lovely. I had no idea the Gulf water was so warm. About to head to the beach now post brekky. Map of where I am here. This is the pier right outside my hotel. Remember the Gulf Oil Spill last year? Covered this same beach in tar balls for about eight miles. Same Pier. Oil came ashore on the beach overnight, and the waters were closed to the public. Geologists dug trenches aong the beach and there were veins of oil buried in approximately 4-6 inches of sand. Crazy eh. “It looked like tobacco spit and smelled foreign, and it pooled in yesterday’s footprints as far as you could see. State officials called it the worst show of crude on shore from the gusher 120 miles away.” Tampa Bay News It’s all clean now but still sad to look out my window to a beautiful view knowing it was once damaged by oil.Click for more photos or oil spill info. These kids were playing in this shell making shadows. I’m going to do that tonight. It was really cute. Passed by some bars but wasn’t in the mood for drinking. Hey Creep! Got the cutest bikini to compliment my pinup girl summer style. Love it. Saw this doggy in the window & had to have it 😉 This resto clearly has a sense of humor. haha Breakfast time then beach for this mama. Have an AWESOME DAY! xo CASIE

See these two babes (no not me) Chantelle & Alana! They know me longer than you or the internet! OMGCANYOUBELIEVEIT. Chantelle and I danced together when I was 3+ years old. Alana lived down my street and used to play with u. She also used give us her old clothes. It was AMAZING to hang out the other day. They both say HI MUM! Mum, please try & ring me tonight. I miss you heaps & have so much to tell you. If you see glitter like this somewhere, you know I was there. Borderline Artistic. Look at this sad sight. Swan on a pile of garbage down by the lake. Heart break. Weather has been so lovely the last couple days. Today is an exception, kinda chilly out there. MORE GLITTER. BORDERLINE ARTISTIC STRIKES AGAIN. We were chillin’ and all of a sudden CP24 Breaking was there to do a story. No, not on me. Two mins later SF News was there. That’s Sweden. There were there filming this tall glass of water, here he comes. Voila! He’s playing TFC on Saturday. Jonathan, do you know his name? Something like Stephen or Stephan Fry. Then I tried to ride this bad boy but my feet couldn’t really reach the pedals making it nearly impossible to ride. Chantelle is taller so she was fine. I have to go get ready for class now. That sounds funny. I’d love to teach a class. Would you take it if it was a Sat. or Sun. afternoon workshop? Maybe I’ll put some more thought into that idea. I love teaching and talking. Last year about 20 people like you who ready this bloggy  joined me for a TFC soccer game.  It was so much fun. My friend Jonathan hooked it all up and if I’m good maybe we can do it again this summer. I’m going to my first game this season on May 7th, the daye before my birthday (mark that day in your calendar and set a reminder). I kid I kid. 😛 The TFC just signed four kids from their youth academy. Check out this special video just for me from 18 year old Matt Stinson. Am I a cougar yet? Actually, I’ll stick with Puma. Leather jacket, sweet ride. I rarely ever take TTC. I noticed that today. I pretty much walk everywhere. I stay in my neighbourhood heaps. I need to tune up my bike. Anyone have a hook up? I have a varity of talents for barter. Seeing a pack of cops will forever remind me of the G20. Google “casie stewart riot girl“. I hope I never have to be in a situation like that again. Running through the streets soaking wet, people were being detained and arrested, cops everywhere in riot gear, riots. No,  thank you. Last time I was here I was in American Pie Beta House. I like this campus. It’s really pretty and old. I walked home after. It was pretty warm out. Went to the annual Motionball Gala with my sis last night. It was all young peeps, open bar and fancy dresses. Jenie wore Mum’s vintage dress, so lovely. Complete with a Calvin Klein underwear fashion show. Mmm chocolate fondue. Chocolate coffee beans are my fav…that and vodka. So many babes. You betta recognize Wes, Jay & Julio! Earlier this summer I sent two people as Casie Stewart Brand Ambassadors to Vans Warped Tour – Mike Albertini & Jordan Rachel. I gave them all access media & back stage. I asked Jordan to write about her experience & here it is. I’m Jordan, reporting for casiestewart.com … Van’s Warped Tour 2010. The Van’s Warped Tour is known to have one of the biggest set lists for any concert, with 70+ bands appearing at our hometown Toronto date, there was no shortage of genres represented. From the smooth poppy vocals of newly acclaimed Mike Posner, to the grungy rock sound of Taylor Momsen’s band The Pretty Reckless, fans of all kind gathered to see their favourite bands.I had the opportunity to get all access, backstage, media access with my partner in crime Michael Albertini. One of the first things Mike and I saw was a pretty tough looking dude sporting a “F**K JUSTIN BEIBER” tshirt.. (yes, spelt like that). From then on, we knew that this day would be one for the history books. The first artist we knew we had to see was Mike Posner, and as I suspected, with him came along a following of loyal fangirls. Although fairly new to the scene, or at least to my knowledge of him, he’s had a pretty steady crowd goin’ on. I guess that hit “Cooler Than Me” has really caught on! Soon after, we hit a few other bands such as The Cab, and The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band (They were insane!!!) Then it was time for The Pretty Reckless, and most importantly for us: T.MOM! Not gonna lie, I have been a big fan of Gossip Girl for a while now, but let me tell you I have now seen Lil’ J in a whole new light… and I loved it! She had…

Talk about a good time. TweetgasmTO V1.0 on Monday night was a hit. Thanks everyone for coming. Who likes to rock the party? We do. there was dancing oh and tweeting and talking! and babes and more babes and MORE babes blog blog fashion baby oh co cute but they’re monsters! they will eat you rarrrrrrrrrrrr ok just kidding There are more pix in my web album here. Loved seeing/meeting everyone. I am lucky to be surrounded by awesome community of smart (and really really good looking) people.
