Whatever Weather

I can’t believe I’m wearing winter clothes in June. Hardly rode my bike the last few weeks cause we’ve had so much rain and it’s been chilly. Just finished from a haircut at Evolve Hair Studio with Sonya. This sweater was a gift from kiwi designer Adrian Hailwood during NZ Fashion Week in 2010 when I was a VIP guest. On the bright side, since this is the first summer I’ve worked full time in over two years, I don’t really mind the weather. I can only imagine how hard it will be to gaze out the window when it’s super sunny and warm. Hope the day is treating you well 🙂 CASIE Posted from WordPress for Android on my HTC One

3D Printed Ikea Furniture? No Assembly Required!

Wouldn’t that be nice. One day, not too far form now, it’ll happen at Ikea. It’s already happening in the world. I hate putting that Ikea stuff together. Check out this wicked 3D Printed 28-Geared Cube that prints as one fully assembled object straight off the printer. I have such a heart on for 3D printing, it’s completely fascinating! The Shapeways site is an entire market of 3D printed everything. I don’t care. I love it. 3D Printed 28-Geared Cube How it Works This design consists of a cube with 28 gears, on each of 4 sides of the cube are 7 gears: 2 large outer ones that move in opposite directions, the outermost gear has handles on it so it can be easily rotated, the motion between the 2 large cogs is reversed due to 5 smaller gears set within the cube in a similar layout to a planetary gearbox to reverse the gear’s direction on each of these 4 faces. Each of these sets of gears on the 4 faces are all liked through the big gear on each of the 4 faces meshing at 90 degrees with the big gear on each of the 2 neighboring sides. This means that if any one gear is spun, they all spin in a memorizing pattern. [Read more]

Everybody On The Phone, On The Phone

Took subway home from work today after stopping by the Nella Bella head office. I’ve been friends with the designers for years and truly love them! I do not however, love loud talkers on the subway. Don’t people realize they are being loud/rude/annoying? We all don’t need to know the floodplan of your new apartment or that your sister still has that loser boyfriend. Couple years ago I made videos of loud talking people and posted them online. I feel that might be a bit inappropriate now, but I still think about it. This is my new fav bag. A big black purse is a staple for every city girl or woman who loves to travel. My Nella Bella bags have been around the world with me on all kinds of adventures! Thank you SO much Tarek and the Nella Bella team for having me in today. Congrats on the new line! Check out all their designs at nella-bella.com. In other news, I like the West end and I don’t miss CityPlace. Sitting on the top of the bridge as I write this and feeling pretty good. Hope the sun is shining on you today. 🙂 CASIE

Move Over Martha, There’s a New Stewart in Town

Woke up and had coffee in the hot tub. Fleece and bathing suit is one of my fav outfits. New flamingo bikini from Victoria’s Secret. I’m getting really good at ordering things online. Got a new gardening set from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. “Cray” print was the most complex and expensive design produced in 1884. The famous chintz design is by William Mossis and took 34 printing blocks to make the complex pattern. Found it at Winners! Hoping to have a beautiful garden soon. It’s so great out today. Wear sunscreen! CASIE

My Boston Marathon 2013

* Note – I wrote this yesterday before the bombings happened in Boston. I was there all weekend. Thought I shoudl do a little update so I didn’t seem insensitive or something. It’s really horrible what happened. A friend shared this really great article in The Atlantic about the whole thing and I share it with you. “We actually have all the power here, and there’s one thing we can do to render terrorism ineffective: Refuse to be terrorized. It’s hard to do, because terrorism is designed precisely to scare people — far out of proportion to its actual danger. A huge amount of research on fear and the brain teaches us that we exaggerate threats that are rare, spectacular, immediate, random — in this case involving an innocent child — senseless, horrific and graphic. Terrorism pushes all of our fear buttons, really hard, and we overreact. But our brains are fooling us. Even though this will be in the news for weeks, we should recognize this for what it is: a rare event. That’s the very definition of news: something that is unusual — in this case, something that almost never happens. “ Read the full article here ORIGINAL POST from April 15th, 2013 12:30pm The actual Boston Marathon is today and I know a few people in it. I’m not much of a marathon runner (yet) but my weekend in Beantown was somewhat of a marathon too. We had an awesome time! I wish I was there longer to check out more sights and do more things. We’re already planning to visit again in this summer. Hugest thank you to my friends there for taking us around and showing us an amazing time. Feeling refreshed and ready for a great week! Make it a great one 🙂 [View the story “Toronto > Boston >…

You’re a Sensation

The other day a bunch of us went out to Sensation, the launch for a massive house music thing this summer sponsored by Bud Light. It was at Andrew Richard Designs, one of my fav venues. I have seen it magically transformed so many different ways over the last few years. Thanks Becca and She Does the City for these pix. This mermaid outfit was so awesome. I want to be a mermaid too. WHO DOESN’T!

I Love You in 3D and underneath the moon.

Shannon and I shot in the snow on Monday at lunch for Coral TV. After work I went to Untitled & Co. on Queen Street for the media preview of Hot Pop Factory‘s 3D kissing booth. I was so cool. I love 3D printing, I’ve told you about 8K times. When they aren’t making 3D statues, people pendants or rings with faces on them for Valentine’s, they make jewellery. I have this white 3D ring below and a matching necklace. And I really want to wear this. Untitled & Co is where I got the Thug Mansion Barbie sweater. They also carry Stolen Girlfriends Club one of my fav designers from New Zealand. Remember when I went to New Zealand Fashion Week? One of the funniest things I’ve done ever. The SGF show was in a theatre and it was a fashion wedding at the end. My dream basically. This is me getting scanned and that on screen is me in 3D. This stuff below goes into the 3D printer to make objects that have been scanned (with Kinect) into files on computer. I really want one of these rings. You can order for around $40. I am getting the photobooth print tomorrow and giving it to my valentine. ♥ Wait till this technology gets better and faster. I can’t wait.

Interview with Peter Bergman (aka Jack Abbott, The Young and the Restless)

I’m not sure if you are aware but I have been watching the Young and the Restless since I was born. I PRV it every single day and watch it religiously. About this time last year I got the opportunity to interview the ONE AND ONLY Victor Newman but was flying out to Costa Rica on a surf trip. I was heartbroken, but sent Barbie to conduct the interivew and it went off with flying colours. Her and Kevin even got a message from Victor for me. He said he missed me. This year at the National Women’s show, Peter Bergman, aka Jack Abbot was in town and I was given the opportunity to interview him. Unfortunately, I was flying to Calagary for a fashion trip and could not do the interview. AGAIN! GAHHHHHH! Below is an awesome interview done by Barbie when she met the REAL Jack Abbot. Please enjoy & comment. Thank you to Mr. Bergman’s PR for arranging and HUGE thank you to Barbie for doing an great job. This her unedited interview with commentary, enjoy! It’s funny. Interview with Peter Bergman (aka Jack Abbott, The Young and the Restless) Last year, I had the pleasure of interviewing Victor Newman (played by Eric Braeden). This year at the National Women’s Show, I got to interview his arch nemesis, Jack Abbott (played by Peter Bergman). I must admit, I wasn’t as excited as I was when I got to meet “the moustache” but I was pleasantly surprised with Peter’s charisma. Sabrina: How do you like Toronto? Peter: I love Toronto; it is a “YandR Mecca” – more devoted YandR fans here than any other city, over Boston, Chicago or New York City. All the cast members love coming to Toronto. When I checked into my hotel last night, 3 guys came up…

P0rn Theatre Halloween Party, October 31 #PTHP

If you’re wondering what to do for Wicked Wednesday next week on Halloween, do not look any further than the darkness that lies within and old p0rn theatre in Korea town. Yes, an old P0RN Theatre. I’ve never beet to one I swear. No, seriously. Never. I may have seen my fair share of PORN 7 videos, but I’ve never actually gone to a porn theatre of my own. Although, I have to admit no amount of porn could ever compare to the services offered by doha escorts. ‘After years of cautiously observing this beautifully designed 1930’s theatre in the Annex, I finally have a reason to attend.’ – Margaret Atwood ‘This will be the first time I have ever attended a event at this location while there will be living females in attendance’ – Ron Sexsmith Hosted by young legend Brock McLaughlin, and Canadian folk rocker Morgan Cameron Ross, and Kate Snack, this is where you want to be. Brock has assured me that it will be a night you don’t wanna miss and there will be lots of eye candy. (heh heh) Brock has hosted a ton of parties over the last year and they are always fun. So fun that I often don’t tell anyone about them until after, or ever. I feel like I am passing on the torch as I type this but I have no doubt it will be more fun than a barrel of monkeys anything. Seriously though, look at these studs… Find more free XXX videos right here if you like sexual content. The party got a mention in The Grid’s top spooky things this week, see Paul’s writeup below. Get all the gory details on the PTHP Facebook. Tickets are $10 and it starts at 10pm. HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!
