Stopped by Beerfest Thursday for the media preview. Omg there was so much food & drink to be had. This was cookin’ in the grill house. Get grub there. My big party day is tomorrow at Beerfest. We’ve got an awesome crew and the Social Lounge is where we’ll be. Planning to walk there for about 1pm and drink slow & steady all afternoon. Shrimp wrapped in bacon, dipped in something delish & battered in crushed chips. This steak was gently placed on top of a butter infused baked potato. Divine. Practically licked the plate, see! Thanks Labatt. After I chowed down I biked to see the Arkells live in the parking lot by the SOHO. How cute is singer? Heaps of peeps in the crowd. I was up front in media area where it wasn’t crowded. Thanks Samsung. KARINE from MTL! Friends were yelling to me from top of the balcony up there but I didn’t know that until I checked Twitter. I can see my house. Have I told you how much I LOVE living downtown? This guy was a babe too. This guy was ________. Beige? Missed The Midway State. All hail the HAILWOOD tights copied by H&M. Knew this was coming. Remember me rocking this style last year? NZ Designer Adrian Hailwood gifted me his signature & fab two toned tights last year at NZFW. Thanks Adrian! NZ has always been ahead of style in Canada. Hailwood NZ. I see boring. Oooh organic, zzzzzzzzz. Not boring! Sammy & I went biking. These neon bikes are all over the city now. today in blog news – i updated!

I updated to the new WordPress 3.2. The way it looks when I type before I publish is a bit different, I hear there are a few other new things too. It’s more like writing a document now. I feel like a reporter. I am reporting life of/on/in the internet. eTalk called me a Social Media Expert last night. No argument. I’m happy with how it went. Will post soon for Mum & anyone else outside Canada or doesn’t have TV. The host Ben referred to me as “Stewart” and after calling me “famed blogger” they put my site on screen National TV. HI CANADA! I was using webOS on a new HP tablet. A bunch of people were them at an HP Blogger event last night. I am still using iPad. My friend the CellGuru thinks I’ll learn to love HP’s TouchPad better. I dunno, we’ll see. Y’all know Andy is my iPad boyfriend. One of the reasons I love him is because he has so many apps. We have heaps of fun together on Flipboard, Twitter, signing Autographs, watching Netflix, playing games. I can’t see myself without him and I don’t know if I’m ready to date anyone else. I’m planning to clean my desk this weekend. I do not like having a messy work area. It clouds my head trapping my thoughts from getting through my fingers to the screen. I’ve been saving these gifts to treat myself. These need to be dealt with. These need to be played with. Tonight I’m heading to the Spoke Club for Mark’s fall preview. Picked out some really great items from Mark’s last year before I went to NZFW. Impressed with how well they’ve washed, worn & stood up to my busy lifestyle. a sudden release of energy in the earth’s crust

Busy day ahead today. Meeting after meeting after meeting then dinner meeting with some colleagues. About to have a call with my advertising company in Say Media. Have you even noticed the ads on my blog in the sidebar? They’re for cool stuff like Mercedes, Winners, Wind and the new Caramilk campaign. All fortune 500 companies and nothing cheezy. Saw one for COD Black Ops the other day. After 5+ years of running this blog I reckon you won’t mind seeing ads here. Click & see what they look like, I’m keen to know what you think. Last night as I was going to bed I heard an earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale was widely felt across the lower North Island where most my family lives in New Zealand. Luckily, everyone is a-ok. Initial reports on GNS’ website show the quake was felt in Wellington, Nelson, New Plymouth and up to the Coromandel (LOVE COROMANDEL!). Aftershocks were not expected & it was too deep to affect Mt. Ruapehu. Looks like I won’t be heading back to NZ for NZFW at this point. I hope that changes! Started using a new phone, Motorola DEFY from Telus. This thing is (almost) indestructible. The Motorola Defy™ with MOTOBLUR™ has a water-resistant, dustproof design, and a scratch-resistant display. Powered by Android 2.2 and available only from TELUS. I can also Create a Wi-Fi® hotspot to share internet with up to 8 devices (ipad, laptop). Camera is 5mp, only thing that would make it best phone yet would be front facing camera. I can swipe to text on the touchscreen which is pretty rad & surprisingly accurate. You know I’m hard on my gadgets and this phone is made for someone with a lifestyle like me. It’ made to be life proof. This is the commercial you may have seen on TV recently. Party looks fun eh.

finally found the magazine cover i was on in new zealand

This article ran last year after New Zealand Fashion Week about bloggers & how fashion’s front row is changing. I never did get a hard copy! The Tempo magazine is inside the NZ Herald that comes on weekends (I think!). One of my cousins got it delivered to her house. How awesome is that? Her Canadian cuz gracing the pages of her mail. Would love to get back to NZ this year for NZFW. Air NZ isn’t the travel partner so that puts a wee damper in getting there. I had the best time last year. See my coverage here. Gonna be fun to see everyone. This skirt is cute too eh. Mum loves it. I’m also browsing EGOCLOSET to pick out something to review & while testing out their new online store. Thinking this uber cute Diamond Pocket Dress, Maxi Jumper or this Chifon tail dress. Loving those long flowy skirts & dresses. They were really popular in NZ last year & they are ALWAYS ahead in style down there. I love getting stuff in the mail, everyone loves mail. The other day Keri & I came home feeling kinda blahhhh and my friends at Bud Light sent me a 12 pack just because they knew it was going to be a nice weekend. Thanks guys, it did make the weekend better and I appreciate it. Sometimes I wonder why I’m even talking about this…. should I keep quiet? Here’s the thing about blogging I don’t love: C.C Chapman wrote about it six months ago. The Mommy bloggers have been talking about it way before I brought it up, good article on MomBlogMagazine about it here. PR email comes in about an ‘exciting’ new campaign that brand XX is launching. It is either a one day event or it spans several weeks but it is ‘perfect for my audience’. This is a what is called ‘Blogger Outreach’. The company knows from idea conception that they want to connect with bloggers although they bugdet nothing for the bloggers who are going to do a bunch of work. They know exactly who they are going to target because we are all on the same list.

Oh yeah. This week I’ve got a fashion show. Crystal Light contacted me and flattered me by saying I’m a “leading Canadian fashionista and social media maven” then asked me to be in their fashion show for the Crystal Light Purse Challenge. I get to meet a personal shopper and have a shopping spree at Holt Renfrew. OMGaga. I love fashion & style as you know. Remember last year when I was hanging out with NYC’s finest in fashion Nicole Miller & Derek Fabulous. Other babes in the show are Anita Sharma, Valerie Stachurski, Karla Moy, Erin Blaskie, Lisa Charleyboy, & Cammi Pham. Fashion show takes place Tuesday at Design Exchange, Stacey Mckenzie preps me for the runway, then I do hair and make-up. Gonna be fun!

What a treck it was getting here. Three flight changes, none my fault. I was at the airport super early but then my plane was late, making me miss the connecting blah blah blah. You don’t care and neither do I. Over it. I’m in Philly now about to board my next flight to Florida, finally. There’s free wifi here, THANKS AT&T. Love that. Airports & hotels should have free wifi. You spend so much money to hang out & use their facilities the LEAST they can do is make is an enjoyable experience. Check out my desk, office anywhere I tell ya. Also wanna share with you this rad vid of my Kiwi designer friend Nick Von K (remember I told you about him before) who was recently in NYC hanging out with my NZFW crew Nicole Miller, Derek Fabulous & Venus Tong. I wasn’t able to make it but I flew Venus on Virgin from LA to get some pix (that I will aventually share with you!). Check the vid. I love his stuff. Got a press release about NZFW yesterday and it’s looking like it’s gonna be huge this year. Have an awesome day. Next update will be from my hotel room in Florida.
