on the way in

This elevator smells like cheap perfume and its probably you. There’s posties beside me and they converse over condos and routes. Seasons affect them, they affect me too, like the weather. ‘Take it easy‘ he says, like its easy, like it’s so easy to take it easy. Its not, its hard to take it easy when there are so many factors pulling attention from your life & love. That guy has a purple jacket. I wish I had a purple jacket. Are there any blogs famous for being crazy, like thoughts insane? Random thoughts that lead to a story of ones life that they don’t even remember writing? I just missed my stop as I was writing and now, I will arrive when I get there. I backtrack, like a dummy. Am I dumb or am I smart? Everyone should have a blog. Its like therapy. I ran into a friend, not just any, a smart inspiring one. That’s why I missed my stop. Universe. There’s no streetcar. She says to me, Lauren Hill, “it could all be so simple, but you’d rather make it hard”. We’re both at Fresh and Wild, playing at the same time. Albert Einstein thinks we can’t live without Bees. I don’t like feeling that I have to do things. It’s a never nearly as neat as when you do it for love. Lindsay would be a hot and slutty burlesque dancer. I know this is random to you but in my mind thoughts flow at a very fast speed. I’m at work now. Like a Sim. Its Earth Day, turn off your computer and give your attention to the earths problems instead of your own. Sent from my BlackBerry device on Rogers

riverside adventure

When I was home this weekend I went on an adventure in Riverside Park. The Grand River was higher than normal and most of the park interior was flooded. Bonga and I set off in to the forest. It was not long before we found ourselves trapped in the middle of melting ground, mud, ice and marsh. It was time to conquer the elements. The sun was shining bright giving us super powers to take on the cold. Not even the high flowing river could hold us back. I was dressed to lead the pack with my warm jacket and Hunter Wellies. We grabbed walking sticks to ensure we knew exactly if the ground was hard or soft and to make it easier to jump over stuff. This also helped in breaking up the ice on the boardwalk. It was really fun.

Raising Malawi

Madonna’s movie ‘I am Because We Are‘ airs today at 9pm EST on the Sundance Channel. Madonna has been awakened to the crisis in Malawi. It is an impoverished African nation where one million children are orphaned by AIDS. “If all you can do is live life in YOUR world in a way that shows you are responsible for the people around you, that’s a course of action,” said Madonna. “People can be of service in large ways and small.” -Madonna Since 2006, Raising Malawi has been dedicated to bringing en end the extreme poverty and hardship endured by Malawi’s 2 million orphans and vulnerable children. Co-founded by Madonna and Michael Berg, Raising Malawi uses a community-based approach to provide immediate direct psychical assistance, support long-term sustainability, create education and psychosocial programs, and build global awareness for the plight of Malawi’s vulnerable children.

Tweet Tweet Canada – No More SMS!

The following was posted on the Twitter Blog regarding outgonig SMS messages in Canada: Canadian SMS service “Unexpected changes in our billing have forced us into a difficult situation with our Canadian SMS service. We can’t afford to support this service given our current arrangement with our providers (where costs have been doubling for the past several months.) As a result, effective today we are no longer delivering outbound SMS over our Canadian shortcode (21212). The ability to update Twitter over SMS will still be supported over 21212. But we know that this is only part of the experience and we want to make Twitter work in the way folks want … regardless of where they live. There is a realistic, scalable SMS solution for Canada (and the rest of the world.) We’re working on that and will post more details on the Twitter blog as we make progress.”

Hm. Mr. Tapeminatti, who are you?

I received a comment from an anonymous reader… I think Mr. Tapeminatti, who ever he is, has picked up on my interest in his business and is now playing a little game with me. Seems like he/they/whoever, may have ghost written me and now I am intrigued! I further explore the world of this unique media that I see all over downtown. The thing I really enjoy is the mystery behind it all. It’s my favorite type of marketing, the ‘roach-bait’ style. A marketing message delivered by an actor posing as a regular person with the intention of having that message passed along to many others…. “Anonymous said… nice thoughtknow you notfull story got know more than beforebut still no scorelearning evermore the more you seekthe more you seeTapeminatti iscome Unity Tapeminatti does provide these services but is not limited to them.”

a little spray chalk on the sidewalk

i know what tapeminatti is now. I spotted a photograph by Chris Wood and it was of a young gentleman spray painting Tapeminatti on a downtown sidewalk. I discovered that Tapeminatti is the place to go if you want to get your poster or message plastered all over the city. My favorite thing that they do is sidewalk stenciling. It is done on any public property using only water-soluble spray chalk. It is most frequently done outside clubs or on busy streets in the downtown core. It’s cool because they use chalk which is water soluble and can be used on walls or over existing posters. I reckon it makes for a very cool effect and unique campaign. I envision my name plastered and painted across the whole city…. The services offered are street postering, event flyering and retail campaigns. On the website there is a variety of media including music and heaps of interesting videos and documentaries. There is an illuminati connection in the documentaries. It is interesting because Tapeminatti prefers to keep a bit secret too. I enjoy mystery. I like to find clues.

WHAT IS M O V E M B E R ?

“Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men’s health.” The Movember Foundation was started in Australia in 2004. It is a not for profit, charitable organization that implements a month long event called Movember each year in the month of November. Movember’s goal is to raise awareness around men’s health issues and raises funds charities chosen by each country involved, focussing primarily on prostate cancer. Before the Movember movement, prostate cancer was pretty unknown and not talked about. Now, due to the raised awareness, it is hoped that men know the signs and when to access help. Symptoms don’t usually present themselves until the cancer has grown big enough to put pressure on the urethra, which then causes issues with needing to urinate more frquently and having issues when urinating. If you suspect you may have prostate cancer, it is highly advised that you visit a urologist like Advanced Urology who will handle your situation with care and compassion, and talk you through diagnosis and treatment methods. However, these symptoms don’t automatically mean prostate cancer, although it is advised that you visit a urologist anyway to find the cause (which usually involves prostate enlargement). Movember unites men and encourages discussions on any prostate related topic. Even discussing remedies such as prostagenix is encouraged. Additionally, by raising awareness about prostate health, it is hoped that more men will be encouraged to get in touch with a doctor if they notice any issues so that any ailments can be addressed and treated. For example, although an enlarged prostate can be a sign of cancer, sometimes this enlargement can be benign. Above all, it can sometimes be reassuring to learn that the risk of prostate cancer…

One day to go for the 56th US Election!! Go Obama!!

CNN is reporting the following for the US Election tomorrow (see image). What an exciting time! I hope and prey Obama wins. It will be a real shame for the US to have old fart McCain in office for the next term. It truly is time for change in the US. Their economy and state of the nation has become such a mess since Bush has been in office (including his investment in the war on Iraq, however, we won’t touch on that item!). I’ll be at a pub with friends watching the future of the US unfold!! Educate yourselves! I’m sharing some interesting facts I found here about the election & candidates: Either candidate would become the first president born outside the Continental United States, as Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and McCain was born at Coco Solo, Panama Canal Zone, a US naval base. This 2008 election will mark the first time since the election of John F. Kennedy in 1960 that a sitting Senator will be elected President of the United States. The new president elected in 2008 will be the first president in 184 years to take office after multiple consecutive two-term presidential administration (Bush & Clinton) McCain would be the oldest U.S. president upon ascension to the presidency at age 72 years Barack Obama and John McCain are 24 years and 340 days apart in age. The 2008 election marks the first time since the 1928 election in which neither an incumbent President nor an incumbent Vice President ran for their party’s nomination in the presidential election

My Pearly Whites

Today I received a nice little package of Listerine Whitening Quick Dissolving Strips from my friends at Matchstick. I read the instructions and excitedly put the strip on my teeth. I am wearing it now. It tingles a bit and tastes like mint. A very ‘Listeriney ‘ (made that one up!) taste. It seem like it is kinda dissolving, it takes about 10-15 minutes. I’d like to use the strips all day and make my teeth uber white, super fast. I really need to find a Toronto Dentist now I think about it! I’m due for a visit. I remember I fell asleep with a Crest strip on once. I woke up, had a glass of water and screamed, my teeth were SOOOOOO sensitive. I surely do not recommend sleeping with white strips on. It hurts. My teeth are already pretty white so I’m not sure how the strips will work on me. Maybe my teeth will start glowing! One of my friends had her teeth whitened at a Dentist Fort Wayne so we have been sharing teeth whitening tips. Hopefully mine will be as bright as hers one day. That would be awesome. Maybe if I had kept my teeth in good condition from the start and had followed advice from my dentist in Glen Rock, perhaps I wouldn’t be in need of the strips but here we are… Now my teeth are looking a little whiter, I have been seriously contemplating treating myself to some Invisalign aligners. I have always wanted straighter teeth and therefore I think that now could be the right time to do something about it. An old colleague of mine who lives in Arizona recently had her Invisalign fitted by a Dentist in Yuma so I might have to ask her for some advice.…

Rail Note #161007

I’m sitting in the subway and find it very warm and awkward. I haven’t ridden this rocket in quite some time. Its full of people and glass and their ass on the glass in your damn face. Its weird for me. I never seem to mind if I’m with friends and chatting or after a few drinks. Then, you are not alone. Alas, I find myself between the glass and someone foreign and someone else in a suit. All the time, everyone glances around staring at ads for a therapist, a job, trouble with erectile dysfunction to which if you actually do need help with your flaccid penis, you might want to buy VigRX Plus male enhancement pills, all in between beautiful blondes and subway tracks. As I was writing this is got increasingly crowded and I somehow feel trapped, but comfortable. I noticed a girl with an olive green laptop bag branded “incase”. I like it. Bloor Street, chaos at in between the cars, empty, crowded, now moving. Two dudes are speaking a language I do not understand beside me and it is kinda loud in my ear and everyone can hear them. Sent from my BlackBerry device on the Rogers Wireless Network The focus group was all about Tylenol. I didn’t get chosen for the second hour, which I am grateful for. I gave my opinion and took my forty bucks. I’m back on the subway with a bottle of vodka and two new pairs of tights from Ardene cause I remember Raymi saying they had deals at the Yorkville shop so I checked. Just a little ride now and I’m home sweet home. Back downtown to have a toast and pass by Darren’s Snowboard party that Fathom is spinning at later then to StrangeLove. The subway is…

Say GOODBYE to Drunken Emails

October 07, 2008 — CIO — Gmail, Google’s free consumer e-mail, added a unique new feature to the service yesterday: Mail Goggles, which gives you the ability to double check whether you are really sure you want to send an e-mail message, particularly late at night. But the feature might also help business users of enterprise Gmail make better decisions about sending out vindictive or hastily-composed emails to co-workers. Check the GOOGLE blog for more deets.

I pick my Berry as my favorite thing too.

Technology Can Be ‘Berry, ‘Berry Addictive Study Finds That 35 Percent Of BlackBerry And PDA Users Would Choose Their Device Over Their Spouse NEW YORK (CBS) ― Of all the possible things that can come between spouses, you can now add BlackBerrys — or more precisely — BlackBerry addiction to the list. A new study reveals BlackBerry’s are becoming — among other things — the 800-pound gorilla in the bedroom. ‘Berry, ‘Berry, addictive? “I live with it. I can’t live without it,” one New York City resident told CBS 2 HD. Yeah … there’s a reason some call ’em … CrackBerrys. But are you having a love affair with yours? “I am on my BlackBerry more than I see my boyfriend,” one woman said. The study of 6,500 traveling executives says 35 percent of them would choose their PDA over their spouse. “That’s a tough call,” one said.”Oh you don’t want to go there,” another added. And apparently that attitude is being seen in the sack. Of those polled, 87 percent said they bring their devices into the bedroom(Always!). Another 84 percent check their e-mails just before they go to sleep (And while you sleep, lol!!!!) . Another 80 percent check them in the morning as soon as they get up (Always!) . “It can actually ruin relationships,” said Dr. Susan Bartell, a psychologist and relationship expert. Bartell said couples should be interfacing more, but with each other. “People are so focused on their PDAs, they’re not focusing on what might be going wrong in their relationships,” Bartell said. Of those polled, 62 percent said they love their blackberry or PDA, and most of them said it makes their life more productive. However, experts suggest, for the sake of your relationship, you might occasionally … “Turn it off, spend some…

Zune: Update (2)

Wow! It looks like people either love or hate the Zune….with the majority of the market loving ipod and hating the MS Zune. I came across some interesting comments about the device in this Globe & Mail comments thread. The article was originally posted in 2006 when the first Zune came out. I’m going to keep testing out the bitch and will give a new report on my usage soon…

Zune Zune Zuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnne!!

Look what I get! Today I got a call from a lovely employee at Matchstick.ca after I had filled out a survey last week that pertained to MP3 players. Turns out…..it was for the Zune MP3 device! This thing is fucking awesome. I currently have an 8G Nano, but I reckon this might rival my little baby. It comes with video, photo, radio, a recorder, wireless sync (so cool!) and up to 2,000 songs, or 25,000 pictures, or 24 hours of video. Holy shit yo!! It is not in Canada yet, but I am getting an 8G one! And, to make it even better and cooler, I get to give one to a friend!! Also, Zune is super cool because they are going to be hosting parties with Vice magazine. As a devoted Vice fan, this rocks my socks off! Vice had a promotion with Solo Mobile once for the 100/100 Parties that were off the hook and craz-ay. I should get my Zuney Tuney unit in about a week or so. Stay ‘tuned’ for updates!! If you’d like to participate in this great opportunity or other great stuff from Matchstick let me know and i’ll pass on the details for you! xoxo
