that’s how you make a girls day!

You send her a box filled with vibrating units. Happy Friday to me! I received a box filled with vibrating mascaras. I gave one to Sabrina already, as usual. I’m looking forward to seeing what Kelly thinks of it too. I love that they sent a special one in a bigger package for me and a whole bunch to share with friends all nicely wrapped with bows. I’m one of the first peeps in Canada to get to test it out and as they say ‘share the vibe’.  It also came with a party book about style and how to have a good time with your friends. That’s up for grabs, I mastered that ages ago. Ok, I tested it out out just now. It definitely vibrates, kinda shocked me at first how much it does! I’m gonna try it again tomorrow when I have fresh lashes. I’m heading to Edgefest tomorrow and I am SO stoked to see Metric. J’adore Emily. eyegasm/vibrating mascara from me on Vimeo. One more thing, you can get a discount coupon to purchase it from here and more info on the vibrating unit here. Happy eyegasms!!

the issues that matter most

Part One: There’s been a big thing going on to save our Internet in Canada from regulation and big business control ling it I’m pretty sure I mentioned it during Net Change Week or Raymi speaking at the town hall meeting. Good news, Liberals announced support for Net Neutrality on Thursday, hopefully the rest will follow their lead. We all need access to the internet. Part Two: How you feel about yourself. That matters. I’m a positive girl , it’s a daily challenge but it’s more fun to be happy so I try each day. I’ve gotten pretty good at it. This week I’ve received a couple negative blog comments from a recent reader. It’s too bad that they find pleasure in leaving anonymous comments and have nothing better to do but type in my URL and take the time to press every key with bad intentions. The reality for the commenter that there is no such thing as anonymity if you post on a blogs. It is a bit annoying but mostly just dumb.  Having a blog is creating something new everyday, it’s a modern art form. On my blog,  I write about my stuff and take picture of me.  It’s very fun. I read a crazy article about a Canadian girl suing Google for negative remarks made about her on a Blogger (Google) hosted blog. “I’m tall, I’m blond, I’ve been modeling for many years, and people get jealous,” she told the Daily News. “If I had to deal with everyone who is jealous, I wouldn’t have time to do anything else.” Her lawyer called the site “libelous” and “defamatory.” The only way to really leave an anonymous comment, is to keep it to yourself. I always hoped that after high school people doing stupid things out of…

Luminato: An Unusual Degree of Enlightenment

The city was illuminated last night and full of people our for Luminato. I was at the Harbourfront for Cirque Du Soleil. Pretty amazing but kinda hard to see. I’m little and there were so many people closer to the stage. I had a blast cruising around on bikes and hanging in parks. There is an art installation in the music garden that features a toilet.  I thought it was the funniest thing to pretend to use it. I laughed so hard. Oh god, I laughed hard. I got in trouble from security but it was totally worth it. She just told me to get off . My dress is from Apt 909. My favorite store.  It’s a perfect biking dress.

does mrs. bennett know i have a blog now mum?

There’s something here you don’t get in a post on Mashable or TechCruch, CNN, MSNBC, CBC, CityTV, CTV, MTV and all those other newsy post all the time guys. You get a story. I think I should tell more stories. I like to live them out as I try to remeber what really happened. It’s hard to think of them but when I do, I gotta write it down. Ideas only last so long. How do I send from Blackberry? I’m addicted to bloggging. I’m addicted to my blog I think. Is there a cure for that yet? My hand graces my forehead as I mumble Yeah Casie, a job as a writer… I came to the warehouse to work and write a bit. Theres something about being here that makes me feel so at home. When I was little Dad had a big industrial space for the hot rod shop. It smelled like tool box, wheels and work. The 32′ they build had huge Mickey Thompson tires that came up to above my waist at the time. The home garage always had cars in it too and on the weekends Dad and his friends would push them onthe street and the driveway and work on them with their shirts off. sed so stylish. All the kids played in the backyard on the swing set with sun and hats and the sprinkler. Even now, I still love spending time in my home garage tuning up my car and tidying away clutter from inside my house. Which reminds me, I must check up on my best friend soon. She lives in Illinois and the last time we spoke her garage door was broken! There are a few companies who specialise in garage door repair in Addison so I hope she managed…

nowhere else you’d rather be than there

You know those days when the sun is shining and you get in the car with a few friends and cruise to the beach or the park. You lay out a blanket followed by food and drinks and you lean back and feel the sun on your face. Your mind is free and in wanders as you feel complete bliss and serenity knowing that there is  nowhere else you’d rather be than there , that very moment in time. I feel like that today, well, a connection to that feeling. This is a me at Newport Beach on Sydney’s North Shore in NSW, Australia. I went surfing for my very first time. It was about 7am and the sun was rising. It was more than beautiful. I met this man in Bondi who’s called the Bondi Groover he said “Life’s not about being naughty, it’s all about 60/40” (in Aussie, that rhymes).

#spadiawatch #tamilprotest #holycow

I went for a bike ride at 5:30pm and was like whoa mama there’s a mad protest on Spadina. They were at Queen Street heading South.  I’ve never seen something like it. I heard heaps of sirens and saw police cars rushing towards the Gardener at top speed. The protesters proceeded to head up the Gardener ramp from Spadina and blocked the highway. I ran over to the spa room on the 27th floor next door and got some great photos of what was happening. It didn’t look to be violent in any way. crazay There are tons of kids in that group. I don’t know who would ever want to do that with their child. It’s getting cold out there too.  After posting photos and videos on Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Vimeo and 12seconds I got this  Tweet from Steve Austin at City TV asking to use my footage with a credit. Who’s a reporter now!? Hopefully it doesn’t last too long. Good thing I bike to work and it won’t interrupt my day!!

cartoon motion

Sometimes I wish I was a cartoon. I would run up walls and jump and fly and all kinds of super things. I saw Wolverine movie last night. Hugh JACKman should be called ‘Hugh jacked man’. He’s massive. I really like the Bloor Varsity – VIP section. You can order a bevvy & food to your seat. Did some serious writing when I got home last night. The book gets closer every day. I paid my friend whose laid off to clean my room. What a surprise to come home to, a floor and closet full of clothes. An old book from the 1940’s lay on my desk from Mum. I picked up the book and as I opened the fragile cover I read “The Face is Familiar: Selected Verse by Ogden Nash“. He died on May 19, 1971 and was one of the worlds best humor poets. He inspires me to write/publish some of my quite funny ones. I like his style very much, I do.

what a beauty she was

I had an awesome weekend. I’m digging that I’m not making myself feel like I have to blog on the weekend. Now that it’s springy and warm outside I want to get out and enjoy it. Really, really gotta get my bike on the road. I’m wearing open toed shoes today. The Gladiators. Today is Samuel Morse birthday and Google’s logo is in Morse code. I dig it. I’ve thought about getting a poem I wrote tattooed in Morse code. I like the way it looks.Cara and I went to Frock Swap on Saturday afternoon near Kensington. It was lovely. I snagged a few nice dresses. I’m lucky that so many vintage dresses are mini and they fit me just right. I always find a few jems. I wore these Pooh’s on my head while I was there. I liked them, they made me feel cool. I wore a strapless long dress tho show the shoulders to the sun. They got some love for sure. I also picked up a few new pairs of glasses. Necessary to have about a zillion pairs. I lose/break a few each year and I’ve got a drawer full of backups. Happy that the sun came out to play.

sometimes i think i’m so cool

I’ve been going through my old hard drive and I’ve managed to dig up some jems from years ago when I used to go out ‘clubbing‘. In this one my friend is smoking a dube. haha. They used to allow smoking inside back then, lots of cigarettes in this photo. Sorry Mum. Moxie Halloween. That’s my old lady mask. It rules. Dad used to wear it when he took us trick or treating. It is so old and scary. It looks real and totally freaks people out. My costume was an ‘old sexy bag’ my shirt said that on the back, I made it. It was right when ‘Sexy Back‘ came out. Moxie Promotions Princess party: We all wore crowns and big puffy skirts. It was really fun. My hair was so long.  She is also the Power Ranger. What kinda outfit is this? Fishnets under bathing suit? Nice real nice. Pretty cool when you go to the Guvernment in 2005. I hope you will enjoy these guys like I did. Don’t be shy on the comments. I know I had a few!!

afternoon delight

Good day yesterday. AGO was fun, I love it there. There’s a few new guys up and they are putting up a teepee in the big open area behind the ticket checkers. I took home a post card of on guy I had a crush on. I don’t know why I like him, I think it’s the outfit and the pose. I popped into the members lounge with H, he’s a member. Nice furniture but pretty plain in the coffee area. I expected a more swanky modern design. The old house, grange, is the original gallery house. It’s been restored and reopened, hence why it was so historic looking. I heard from a reliable source that the upstairs isn’t open because they didn’t have enough money to get it up to building code. They store furniture and stuff up there now. Gehry insisted that they make the house the members lounge. There is some really nice art in the eating area downstairs too. Very modern.

a kwik shave

Spring is in the air and I was feeling like an update. I get my hair done by Darren at his lofty salon in the heart of Queen Street West. I love it! Darren you did an awesome job! It’s super blonde and I got a new shave. I’m really happy. So glad I had camera with me this time. You can get Darren to do your hair too if you want it to look beautiful.

something big is coming….

I helped out with TwestivalTO in February, an event that took place at CiRCA and was part of a world wide effort to raise money for Charity Water. Toronto raised over $10,000 and we had hundreds of people out. There’s some really huge Toronto party events happening this year, I’m stoked.  Our friends at Daily Challenge are doing something awesome and when they asked for me to join their team for the event, I was all in! The event is called Pay It Backward Day and the idea came from one of the earliest challenges for DC. It involves doing something nice and purchasing a drink for the person behind you in line (see image->). The goal is to beat Starbucks who have the current world record and get 500 people in a row to take part. It is on Saturday, April 4th at Queen & John, Second Cup. It’s right across the street from Much Music. The New Flow 93.5 will be broadcasting live, there will be all kinds of interesting stuff going on. I’ve never broken a world record, that I know of, and I would really like your help to do it. So come. Join in on FB. I took this pix-mix of our city on the way to work today – Toronto the GOOD!

all the things i said i said i would do before the sun came out and wanted me to enjoy it

Today, I am reminded of a poem I wrote in Australia. It was 7am, I was walking with my feet in the ocean on Bondi Beach. It was my favorite time of day. Peace, bliss, energy, sunlight ; it was freedom. This untitled poem is my most favorite one I’ve written, I think. There are so many! I’m in the process of picking my favorites so I can have a new book out later this year. Enjoy! As the waves crashed on the shore, the wind washed them away. And as I walked along the sand,I felt I could not stray. For I was walking towards the sun,and it was a brand new day.Casie Stewart 2004

spring has sprung out!

I went for three walks today. Yes, three. Hello spring, beach body and bike riding! Walk 1. Brekky with some friends at the Old York Bar & Grill. I was in good company and we laughed our heads off at continuous random hilarity. Walk 2. Went for a beautiful stroll in the Toronto Music Garden. “The garden was built in Inspired by the pictorial element in Johann Sebastian Bach’s Suites for Unaccompanied Cello with each dance movement within the suite corresponding to a different section in the garden.” [Learn more] I’m working on a video of my Toronto Symphony experience. Will publish later today! Took some cool photos by the water & in the garden. Walk 3. My roommate and I walked down by South Beach & Marina 2. There is still ice on the water and it looked pretty neat. I did not know there was so many little places to walk around.
