Entrepreneurs Don’t Call in Sick, They Work

When you work for yourself you can’t really call in sick. I felt a bit of a cold coming on when I woke up so I’m going to work from bed today with hope of kicking this by tomorrow. In Boston this weekend and a cold is not an accessory I’d like to pack. Y’know what I’m sayin’? I’m cookin’ up lots of fun stuff to share with you over the next coming weeks. Thinking that my new classes from Clearly Contacts will arrive today. I might whip up a nice home made soup this afternoon. If you are AT ALL feeling sick here’s two cures from my darling Mum that will kill those bad germs like the soldiers in Louie Pasteur kids book (it was my fav!). Cure for throat here & cure for overall cold/sickness here. Thanks Mum 🙂 P.S. I entered to win this TRIP TO BAHAMAS. You can too right here. Last pic in the hotel before Leaving Las Vegas. Classic movie. My hair is slowly growing crazy, crazy growing slowly. Hurry up. Gelatin will make you hair & nails grow fast. Buying Jello tomorrow. Whenever I’m in the USA people always stop & compliment my hair. It’s unique there I guess. I see cute short haired blonde girls in Toronto and on the internet all the time so it always catches me off guard. Roots are quite popular too. Getting them done by Darren Kwik this week. The night before I left was CRAZY. When I got to the door at TAO I gave the word I was here and a tall hot VIP host named Logan walked me through the crowd to the private party. (Exactly how I imagined it should would be in Vegas TBH.) I remember always ready about Paris Hilton hanging out there. Thanks NextGen & my friends for a fun night. Met some rad people. The dance floor was insane, so crowded. I only went there for 5 minutes at a time before scurrying back to bottle service. I don’t care if that sounds snobby, it was awesome and I was livin’ it up. Some things and thoughts…

There was a really beautiful sky last night. I love the view from our place. Living near the water is something I adore. I prefer the ocean but the lake is good too. Was recently sent a couple gift cards for Tim Horton’s so I could try out the new lattes. They were super nice to send a few extra so (I did a secret contest and) surprised a couple people with a gift. Tried the vanilla latte and it was ok. I reckon I prefer Tim’s regular coffee. So many memories as soon as I take a sip. Have you tried the Tim’s latte, what did you think? Going to Tim’s with Dad as a kid was one of my fav things to do on the weekends. He would always read the Toronto Sun. I remember we’d always check out the Sunshine Girl which is why I think I wanted to be one. Crazy that was over ten years ago. I think I look younger/better now. Gimme a donut meowwww! Boston creme is my fav treat from Tim Hortons. Next week I’m heading to Boston for a visit with friends. When I arrive we’re going straight to the museum then a Rocky Horror show at night. Preeeeeeeety stoked. Saw this painting at a meeting today. Liked it. Moooooooo. Went to Earl’s last night with Stephen. The Financial District is such an interesting place. Everyone looks the same, sea of suits. I wore the JC Night Walk shoes, harem pants from Raymi and that lovely denim jacket from Bicyclette, with Dior lipstick. These shoes spark conversation everywhere they go. Honestly, they are really comfortable and easy to walk in. Rarrrrr! Calculator phone usually gets a few commets too. It would be really cool if it solar charged or was a working calculator. It says…

Jungle Sounds All Around

I’ve never gone on vacation alone to some place warm & relaxing. I’m filled with childlike excitement knowing all the things I can do here. I’ve decided to stay in Montezuma village one night this week and check out the Costa Rica Film Festival. Surfing & yoga today and a one day sailing trip to an island before Friday. I’m reminded a few things being here… I really love iPhone, life, sunshine, wifi, meeting new people and traveling. Had Skype video calls with Mum at home, Bob from Boston and KMS in Auckland to show them around Anamaya Resort from my iPhone. It’s like THE FUTURE is already here. My room is lovely. Currently downloading Crazy, Stupid, Love so I can fall asleep with my boyfriends Ryan Gossling and (Andy) iPad. Outside I hear all kinds of jungle sounds like monkeys and birds that remind me of a sleep app I have on iPad but realer. There’s a few voices speaking Spanish in the distance but it’s quiet compared to home. I sat in this hammock for a while today staring out into the ocean. It was magical. This resort is very well designed. Kudos to the owners & thank you for having me. One can only DREAM what it’s like to call this place your home. Even at night the infinity pool looks lovely. All that darkness is ocean meets sky. Everyone has dinner together which is really nice. I had salmon, beets and vegetables but they cater to everyones food allergies like gluten free and all those other ones (I’m clueless about!). Chilled in this area for a little while today too. There’s lots of space for everyone to hang out. I wonder if that TV has cable so I can watch the Y and R? Omg I just remembered I will be one week…

Friday I’m in Love

First post using WordPress app on iPhone. I love this thing so much. It’s true once you go Mac you never go back! Had a beautiful day at home yesterday. In he evening went to Swarovski Spring Summer 2012 preview with Keri and a bunch of other Toronto fashion bloggers. I have a very special gif in the making as a thank you for the lovely gift they gave me. Ditched going to any other events to watch movies with Sammy. I’ve been in vacation mood for a few days and it feels so good. Off to get a mani, pedi, tan and pack before 3pm. Boston Bob is in town and meeting my sister and I for dinner. A Whole New World

iCasie! It’s like a whole new world now that I’m all Apple, iPhone, IPad & Macbook. I dreamed about this day. No really, I did. Doesn’t everyone? Couple friends gifted their apps to try. This time last year I had just returned from my first trip to San Francisco to meet the team at Virgin America. I gave away my first flight on Virgin as the Toronto Provocateur. Rochelle won & went to SF too. After the giveaway Calvin took the gang and I out for lunch after at his YS Boston Pizza. I don’t think I’ve been back up that way SINCE. MAKE THE MOST OF EACH DAY PEEEEPALLLLL! Read a great article yesterday on the Harvard Biz Review about Why Inspiration Matters. Inspiration is very important to me, if you’re here, you probably already know that. I’m feeling really inspired knowing that I’ll be in the ocean and hot weather next week. Got an email from someone yesterday who was in a class I spoke to at Centennial last year. As it turns out, she does PR for a really cool German luggage company and I’ll have a new RIMOWA suitcase tomorrow. I went to purchase one earlier this week and my card didn’t work for some reason, crazy how things work out, eh?! Tonight’s I’m attending the SS 2012 Swarovski preview at Jamie Kennedy in the Gardener Museum. I think it’s a 50/60’s theme dinner! Lauren and I did a sing along to this on the weekend. It will brighten your day 😛

You want vacation time? Go teach 3rd grade.

Welcome back to work everybody! How was your weekend, what did you do? I danced a little like this. Cruised Queen Street, rode bike, watched movies, got some sun, went to the Island, hung out at the beach, saw an air show, went to a concert, worked, dined with friends. Excellent Labour Day. The best I can remember. I’d love to get to a cottage soon. Can I come stay at your cottage? New boots. Creeped the Jays game. We beat Boston. The Labour Day Parade went from 9ish – 11ish on Queen Street. I love the bagpipes & steel drums. Heaps of orange with signs of Jack Layton everywhere. It was a a looooong parade. Niche is an old fav for brekky (Queen/Bathurst). I hardly ever go out for breakfast anymore. I love getting up and working on Saturday mornings. I’m not upset about the change in season, I love Fall fashion!! I hate when people complain about the weather. TALK ABOUT SOMETHING MORE INTERESTING. Have you nothing better? It’s hot, it’s cold, it’s gonna change and be unpredictable. Embrace the fact you can read this from a computer at your office or house and smile. Pretty please 🙂 Today kicks off the busiest time of the year for me. Four months till New Year and heaps to get accomplished. Set yourself a goal or two today. Time flies and if you don’t write them down, you’ll forget them. There’s so many things in one day, it’s near impossible to remember them all. Having a blog helps. Have a great day,

I’m in love with this app today.

…magically your closet is a shop of beautiful things. Made using Comic Book for iPad. New fav app. I always wanted to make a comic of my adventures. I wanna fight some bad guys and make the world a better place. Have you ever worked your arms from driving? Today I used Softsign to download & edit a PDF, type changes & sign all from iPad with ease. Amazing device. I am also in LOVE with Spotify. How did I get it to work when I’m in Canada? Used my Klous Perk invite code to sign up while in the USA (Boston) and… it still works! Been loving all kinds of tunes the last week. Liking suggestions and seeing what other people have in lists. hosting a heat wave in your honor

I love coming home to this city. Missed you Toronto. Our flight was almost twice as long as usual due to changed flight pattern because of major thunderstorms near Toronto. There was heaps of turbulence. Man it is super duper hot here, eh? Warmer than Boston I reckon and surely more humid. First time we’re turned on the AC all summer.
