Walked to work with the cousins this morning and showed than around the MuchMusic studio. It’s really nice having them here.  I’ve never had a cousin around my age visit me before. We had a fun at the game last night, but baseball, I’m just not that into it.  The Rogers Ctr was quite empty and we ditched our already good seats in the 200’s to move in to the 100’s super close.  Will post about that later. Thanks Mum for sending this little shirt dress, love it! This is an interesting vid from the Rogers blog with stats on how we use technology. It’s fascinating to think about how communication has changed in the last 10 years, 5 years, 2 years. My main source of communication is Twitter and I rarely actually ‘talk’ on the phone to anyone. Twitter is where I get the bulk of my info and most friends I hang with these days, all tweet. I love it. Text, gchat and email rank higher than voice over phone line for sure. In other entertainment news, the World Cup ACTUAL cup will be @muchmusic for MOD today.

Look who’s a Degrassi student today! I was running into a meeting earlier today and my boss asked if my shirt was new and if I was going to the big meeting this afternoon. “No” I said, “oh, it’s a DEGRASSI meeting” he replied.  I look like SUCH a keener and I love it. Abby gave it to me last night as a thank you for inviting her to my Hills party.  She works with the show which is awesome cause it’s gonna be airing on MuchMusic. BTW if you ever wanna come watch The Hills with me at MTV, just ask! I’ll be hanging out there on Tuesday nights. Remember last week when I filmed with My City Lives, the vids are aliiiiiive! I’m excited. Like, I mean, reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally, excited. There are so many things happening around right now that make me want to puke a rainbow of joy for weeks on this thing. Sia Concert – Tonight: She’s performing on MTV Live. I’m working at The MTV Temple instead of MuchMusic. Awesome. Hills Finale – Tonight: I’ve got almost 30 people coming to ma Hills party at MTV. I used to have Hills parties at my house. The friends who are coming all blog and/or tweet. Hellz fucking yeahz. Jays vs Boston – Wednesday: My cousin Isaac and his GF are here from NEW ZEALAND. Last time I saw him (the only time we met), I was 12. It was 1994. Birthday – May 8:  Officially TBD. I’d like to have a “haven’t met you yet” party, everyone comes and meets everyone else #casie. Florida – May 27-31: just talked to my friends yesterday and I’m so excited. Ready for a vacation with friend I haven’t seen in a whole but I love. Gonna dance heaps. MMVA – June 20: Watch it play out on Twitter #mmva The G20 – June 26-27: right near my house.  Rumor has it I need a pass to get to and from work. Been asked by York/Ryerson to take part in a doc about it. Filming me daily. Um, can I G20 Summit Rental my condo on Craigslist? Big money. This is my outfit today, feeling kinda Mickey Mouse. Screen printed this dress with my name on it last year, found it in the mounting clothes closet and decided to let it come out and play. Have an after work date with My City Lives to film some of the awesome stuff around my hood from MuchMusic to condo city by the water. There’s lots a neat stuff in that little 1.4 KM (thanks to the Cardio Trainer on my phone I know just how far it is). Somebody tossed this sign up yesterday and I bet it’s JUST the beginning. The G20 is just around the corner from my place at the MTCC.  It’s the same weekend as PRIDE and there’s so many security things they need to take care of. Gonna be nuts in my hood when this thing happens. All these world leaders kickin’ it and heaps of raging homo + lezbo’s showing their love for life. Sounds like a fun time if ya ask me. Haha. it’s more fun to see you smile

Welcome to a brand new day. What’s new? everything. Exciting times ahead in the world, in my world and probably yours too if you think about it. I’m getting a new tattoo tonight. I’m going to fashion week everyday for the rest of the week. It’s a short week! Testing out two new-ish social media tools for blog & work  SocialTalk and Keen Kong; one if for publishing and the other for engagement & listening. This stuff makes me happy. I could barely sleep last night. I’ve got heaps to do but I figure as long as I keep working hard everyday it will all get done. I always wanted to grow up and be the girl who works at MuchMusic and even works on evenings and weekends because she has an agent and her own business and cool friends who are smart and do the same kinda things and lives cool condo downtown Toronto by the water. This is my life and it’s got it’s ups and downs but I choose to make it as exciting as I possibly can. I hope you do too. Whining. Complaining. Just wah-wah-ing ALL over the place. Maybe you have friend like that or possibly someone at work who just likes to shit on everything? They should be called Lady Wah-Wah. My Dad says “cryning” that’s a worse form of crying and whining mixed. Ew. Sure way to make a pretty girl ugly. Why do people do that? I do not understand. I like to check trending topics around the world for things that stand out. In Sao Paulo, I found Laura Fontana. She is 8 years old wants to be Lady Gaga when she grows up.  Starts at about 00:50 starting with Bad Romance, then Paparazzi. Kinda weird but whatever. I was dancing on stage wearing makeup when I was 5 and I always wanted to be like that. Way to go little one! New show aired on MuchMusic last night all videos at 11 weeknights, music videos. Avril’s voice in the new Alice once is like yelling. I do not like it.The kaleidoscope for girls and autotune for boys are a big it it seems. Love the paint throwing in Hedley’s video. I want that.

I recently got asked on Formspring “what can I do to help someone in Haiti?”. Well… I can do lots. I’m working heaps to get the social media organized for Canada for Haiti and Help for Haiti Now specials later tonight.  I’ll be on MTV Twitter duty during the Telethon too.  We’re streaming live on CTV & MuchMusic.  We’ve got lists where you can follow all the celebs here and here. I feel bad for the kids who lost their parents in all this. I can only imagine how different I’d be if I didn’t have my parents around while I was growing up. Here’s to helping where we can. ♥

I’ve been really busy at work lately.  It’s fun for me. Today, I had an awesome gathering at my desk about blog redesign. That stuff gets me really excited. haha. “talk nerdy to me”.  I also set up a MuchMusic tumblr. I got included in a big meeting recently about the olympics & social media. Cool stuff.  We’ve got another big meeting about social media plans for the Help 4 Haiti telethon. I love being part of all this stuff. One of the MOST exciting things to cross my plate is that MTV Canada is launching  a fashion/beauty magazine in March and…[drum roll please]..I’m the Editor in Cheif! Can’t share too many details yet but it’s gonna be fun. I always wanted to work for MuchMusic , dreamt of MTV and  visioned work for a fashion magazine…now I do! OMG. It’s alot of work but that means an opportunity to show I can handle it. I just feel sofuckingexcited every day,  I almost puke rainbows. Also, #GenyTO anniversary party is coming up (Feb.5)  and tomorrow night I’m having a little Jersey Shore Finale/Makeover party. Look out! Girls gonna be gettin’ Snookified! Have a  great day xo

This morning I took a different approach to getting things done.  No stressing.  I’ve already checked a few things off my life list. I FINALLY mailed back my penpal @Hillzy. She wrote the first letter last year and it took me a new decade to get my act together. She’s gonna be happy. I packed a giftbag including a creative letter and some goodies.  I also mailed a package to my new BFF at Telus who’s sending me a new phone next week! Brought headphones today so I can hocus-focus and get lots checked off my list. There’s lots happening in my little world of rainbows & unicorns  but there’s real serious stuff happening in Haiti. I’ve seen heaps of Twitpics of disaster. I saw one this morning that was a childs head crushed between concrete and a fallen building. It was disgusting and sad. I don’t like seeing stuff like that but it’s amazing how social media has changed the way we receive information during crisis. This photo is insane, look at ALL the houses brought to the ground. These people really need our help. You can give $5 through SMS to the Salvation Army by texting Haiti at 45678 (Rogers, Bell, Telus). Money will go directly to the Salvation Army. Notable TV has set up a TO group for Wycelf’s YELE HAITI charity. We’ve got a special MOD today on MuchMusic at 5pm. start it the same way you end it? 01022010 –Numbers ‘count’ as palendromes and today is one.  This is a really long one and good for the day: Are we not drawn onward, we few, drawn onward to new era [more]. I have fun on the internet…for example:  I just clicked a link from a guy on twitter and it took me to a tumblr when I clicked on it and found this site: My Life Is Average. At first I thought, average, like ordinary..who wants to be ordinary? But that’s not it, it’s little things not so bad like simple pleasures and some are funny. Like this: “On Thanksgiving, my grandma asked my cousin and me what “wtf” means. Not wanting to destroy her innocence, we told her it means “where’s the fudge.” She then spent the rest of the night saying “wtf” to everyone in the family. MILA” Legendary fun for the whole family I reckon. I can see Jenie and I and the cuzzies.  My cousin Matt (with the camera) came to visit me in Australia and party this one time (fb pic). this is the best year ever:2010

Count it down with me…goodbye 2009, HELLO FUTURE! I had great meal to finish up the year followed buy a house party with a bunch of people I love. There’s no better way to spend New Years Eve than with people you love and admire. Keri and had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with blog LEGEND Tony Pierce. I’ve got a whole post of great stuff just from brunch. I learned heaps from him about blogging and the internet. [THANKS TONY!] Guys’s got mad stories about when he started his blog amost 10 years ago, getting free trips, almost free girls (haha) and even a CAR! I’m really really excited for 2010. I feel like it’s the future and i’m ready for it. This time last year I was in a  job I hated with big dream about blogging and where I wanted to be. Now, I am doing social media at MuchMusic MTV and i’m living the life I always dreamed of. It’s a new year, set your goals higher than before, reach for the moon. You are a star if you believe it and there are no limits to what you can achive. I’m ready to conqued the world internet! I hope your first day of 2010 was wonderful and everyday there after. Now we’re going to see Avatar 🙂
