lemme take you for a ride
Let’s go. I’ve not been someone who loves driving until now. I love grabbing the keys and hitting the open road, going anywhere I want. Today, I visited old neighbourhoods. I’ve driven a few different cars over the last few months (Ford, GM, Toyota). Really like how this baby drives, takes corners well, is nice on the highway, leather seats, sunroof, voice activated in-vehicle system. Looking forward to trying a hybrid car and also cars with more power. The SE Sport Ford Fusion has a 3.5 V6 engine, this one is 2.5L & 4 cylinder. Used to live in the Annex when I first moved to TO. There was five of us at 613 Bathurst, here. Went here on a date once. There was a sign that said “This is the place” and we went inside to find a house turned into a bar. It was really fun/cute. I’d like to do it again. Been ages since I listened to 102.1 The Edge. Was full of greatness today. Bellwoods looked bare. Am I bad for camera driving? I wasn’t texting or tweeting. Used to live on Manning at Queen too. That was a crazy time. Moving out of that hood was good. I always used to go here for breakfast. Had a birthday there once too. Sad it burned down. Love this big bag from Nella-Bella’s Melbourne Collection. Thanks TAREK! Great travel or overnight bag, fits all my gadgets, products & toiletries. Colour is great for summer, which I hope get’s here soon. P.S. Some friends just launched a blog for the startup community in Canada called Maple Butter. Yesterday I had my first official Jukari class with Carla at King West Fitness. Such beautiful gym. I’ve wanted to workout (in general but) at this gym for years. Very happy they’ve invited me in. Thanks guys! I can kick way higher than this but it’s not so easy with camera in your hand to balance and not look silly. Trust me. I practice. These are shoes for Jukari and great for indoor workouts. Reebok Canada hooked me up. They’re REALLY light and the mesh on the top/sides is like AC for your feet. Carla (or the teacher) yells “hup hup” and you go back & jump high or kick etc. It’s really fun. This is me in action. We are running in circles & doing half moons here. Off the ground! Frog leap. FLYING! My Monday class is advanced Jukari for dancers. I needed something harder than my first class. Basically, I really wanna work hard & sweat. To be honest, my body is hurting today in arms, abs, legs, shoulders. It’s a full body workout. Can’t wait to feel it tomorrow 🙂 Last time I was at King West Fitness for the launch of Jukari Slice.ca was there & made this video. You can see bits of me, I’m on the far left during the class. Tina asked Julie about the benefits etc. of Jukari. Post workout we used this thinger that is for Trigger Point Therapy. You roll your back legs etc on it. It hurts but feels good. Y’know, the good hurt (burn). I have some free passes so if you wanna try Jukari let me know!

You know I love my bike, biking, bicyclette. If you don’t, you might wanna do some homework in the company Bike archives. (Duh, where have you been?) There she is. She needs a physical, some real attention. Let’s hope she’s gonna make it. Last week I dropped her off to the Curbside Cycle on Bloor to see if we can bring her back to life. Fingers crossed! A Little History on How I Got Here
I woke up this morning determined to find my hot pink photo album and bring back some memories. I didn’t find it but I did come across a bunch of things that made me feel fond about friends, happy about starting a new year and proud of things I’ve done. This was me at Mum’s house on my 21st birthday, eight years ago. This was me at Mum’s house on my 21st birthday, eight years ago. A few months after that photo I shipped off to Australia for university. This was right before the airport, my family. There was a time where I thought I’d never get Mum & Dad together for a photo but such is no longer the case. I grew up so much that year I was away. This was at The Moose in Kitchener (anyone from there will recognize it!) the day I got back from Aus. I was so tiny, all my friends were like “where did your boobs go?”. I left at about 125lb and came back barely 100. Living at the beach is a great diet. I figure today, my birthday is as good of a day as any to share some memories of where I came from/how I got here. One thing that always changes, is my hairstyle. I’ve had so many colours. Teen model. That was not the end of teen modeling. Oh no, there was much more. And more. After I won this pageant I did all kinds of fashion shows. It was really fun to be honest. Last week Toronto was host to the first PUMA Social Club in Canada at the Burroughes Building on Queen Street. It was THE place to be. So many cool peeps and hot babes. I was sitting on the couch last night and I caved, I purchased the official replica of this ring. Fan girl, crazy, call me what you want. I love her and the Royal Wedding is one thing I really love. It’s true. No, I’m not looking for dates but I am looking to get together to talk with cool smart people who like to work with other cool smart people. I’m finishing up a contract this week and available as a consultant. I like to create fun campaigns that engage people online and connect them with cool brands. After I checked into my hotel, Doubletree where they have fantastic and fresh cookies ready for you. If you ask at the counter they will give you more. I was starving at the time to I had three then felt bloated and gross. My room was freezing so I decided to do what I usually do when I first get to my hotel room adn jump on the bed. You must be careful not to hit head on ceiling as you may die. I am a professional as you can see here. (My love for animated gifs has resurfaced as you may have noticed) Worked up quite a sweat there and decided to get cleaned up and venture downtown. I love being all alone in a new city. Exploring is fun. I would make an ok explorer, I like to snoop around but I like even more when I have a handsome guided escort who knows cool places where locals hang. I rode the BART (SF version of TTC) and got off here in the heart of the action. I didn’t do much shopping. To be honest, I’m not much of a shopper. I like clothes and stuff but have so many that it’s retarted for me to go buy a heap of things. I like to pick up something special for myself though. My SF souvineer, this badass baby. What a weekend this is gonna be. Excited. Busy. Wristbands. Celebrities. Massive stage. Bieber fever. I am so excited. A massive amount of candy just arrived at the office and I’ll be hopped up on sugar all weekend. Katy Perry would love this. I’m working long hours and days/night but you know what, I always wanted to do this. I have the coolest job and I’m really excited to be party of the bniggest award show party in CANADA. I recently found out that my friend, Jesse Lee from high school was diagnosed with MS. I don’t know alot about MS and saw an opportunity to learn about the disease and share it with others. Jesse is a really cool guy (and funny) so when I found out about him and MS, I was really interested to learn more. Below is my interview with Jesse. Please read it. The first two symptoms I encountered were numbness in my fingers and face and blurry vision in one eye. It was in the summer of 2007 while playing baseball. I have always been a good athlete and all of a sudden I was missing fly balls because of my blurry vision and the numbness caused my coordination to be off. I contacted my Doctor who originally gave me eye drops. Once the eye drops didn’t work I was sent for an MRI. When did you find out you had MS? After my first MRI came back and showed some lesions on the brain, a neurologist that I was referred to said there was a possibility that I had MS and sent me for more tests and a second MRI. The results of those tests confirmed I did in fact have MS and I was officially diagnosed in March of 2008. This was a very frustrating time because as you can see it took almost a year to diagnose and so much uncertainty was surrounding while other symptoms started to arrive and get worse. I love getting mail. Makes me happy. I mean real old fashioned snail mail. The kind mum sends in the summer when she’s sailing on her boat and abandons the internet. The kind with stamps. The only people who really send me mail are mum and companies that want me to test out, chat about, review their stuff. I get all my packages delivered to my office because I love when they get dropped off at my desk and the girls go ‘oooooooh what did you get this time’ and it makes me feel even happier to get it. This year I have been given subscriptions to Wired (totally love the most) and Flare (props to Canada). Flare arrived this week. Getting mags for free and delivered is much more fun than buying them. I like this section on of stuff. I buy alot of vintage stuff and this is ‘stylespiration‘. Yes, that is a word, I just added it to the Urban Dictionary.
