After I checked into my hotel, Doubletree where they have fantastic and fresh cookies ready for you. If you ask at the counter they will give you more. I was starving at the time to I had three then felt bloated and gross. My room was freezing so I decided to do what I usually do when I first get to my hotel room adn jump on the bed. You must be careful not to hit head on ceiling as you may die. I am a professional as you can see here. (My love for animated gifs has resurfaced as you may have noticed) Worked up quite a sweat there and decided to get cleaned up and venture downtown. I love being all alone in a new city. Exploring is fun. I would make an ok explorer, I like to snoop around but I like even more when I have a handsome guided escort who knows cool places where locals hang. I rode the BART (SF version of TTC) and got off here in the heart of the action. I didn’t do much shopping. To be honest, I’m not much of a shopper. I like clothes and stuff but have so many that it’s retarted for me to go buy a heap of things. I like to pick up something special for myself though. My SF souvineer, this badass baby. Don’ mess wit mama cause if I punch you, you will know who hit ‘ya. My tattoo needs to get redone. Blue/orange, so faded. I did not know they had Westfield Malls in the US. What a weekend this is gonna be. Excited. Busy. Wristbands. Celebrities. Massive stage. Bieber fever. I am so excited. A massive amount of candy just arrived at the office and I’ll be hopped up on sugar all weekend. Katy Perry would love this. I’m working long hours and days/night but you know what, I always wanted to do this. I have the coolest job and I’m really excited to be party of the bniggest award show party in CANADA. I will not complain of being tired and I will try to share as much as I can with you from behind the scenes & what I’m up to. Check out this badass shirt I just got! YEOW!

It’s alive! FORA launched last night and so far the buzz is pretty positive. It’s a fashion magazine about beauty, trends and has contributions from featured bloggers and a couple friends. I recently found out that my friend, Jesse Lee from high school was diagnosed with MS. I don’t know alot about MS and saw an opportunity to learn about the disease and share it with others. Jesse is a really cool guy (and funny) so when I found out about him and MS, I was really interested to learn more. Below is my interview with Jesse. Please read it. I assure you it will touch your heart and inspire you. You can donate too MS and help Jesse raise money for the cause here or by following the links below. Did you have symptoms, how did you know? The first two symptoms I encountered were numbness in my fingers and face and blurry vision in one eye. It was in the summer of 2007 while playing baseball. I have always been a good athlete and all of a sudden I was missing fly balls because of my blurry vision and the numbness caused my coordination to be off. I contacted my Doctor who originally gave me eye drops. Once the eye drops didn’t work I was sent for an MRI. When did you find out you had MS? After my first MRI came back and showed some lesions on the brain, a neurologist that I was referred to said there was a possibility that I had MS and sent me for more tests and a second MRI. The results of those tests confirmed I did in fact have MS and I was officially diagnosed in March of 2008. This was a very frustrating time because as you can see it took almost a year to diagnose and so much uncertainty was surrounding while other symptoms started to arrive and get worse. mail is great, especially when it has style

I love getting mail. Makes me happy. I mean real old fashioned snail mail. The kind mum sends in the summer when she’s sailing on her boat and abandons the internet. The kind with stamps. The only people who really send me mail are mum and companies that want me to test out, chat about, review their stuff. I get all my packages delivered to my office because I love when they get dropped off at my desk and the girls go ‘oooooooh what did you get this time’ and it makes me feel even happier to get it. This year I have been given subscriptions to Wired (totally love the most) and Flare (props to Canada). Flare arrived this week. Getting mags for free and delivered is much more fun than buying them. I like this section on of stuff. I buy alot of vintage stuff and this is ‘stylespiration‘. Yes, that is a word, I just added it to the Urban Dictionary.

This video is of the New Zealand All Blacks doing the Haka, a traditional Maori War dance. My Dad used to do the Haka at rugby games when I was a little girl. He played some pretty hard core rugby in new Zealand before coming to Canada. The haka as composed by Te Rauparaha begins with a chant: Kikiki kakaka kauana! Kei waniwania taku tara Kei tarawahia, kei te rua i te kerokero! He pounga rahui te uira ka rarapa; Ketekete kau ana to peru kairiri Mau au e koro e – Hi! Ha! Ka wehi au ka matakana, Ko wai te tangata kia rere ure? Tirohanga ngā rua rerarera Ngā rua kuri kakanui i raro! Aha ha! Then follows the main body of the haka: Ka mate, ka mate! ka ora! ka ora!
