Canada’s Marketing and Innovation Conference – The Art of Marketing

I’ve attended The Art of Marketing for the past few years. Of all the conferences that go down in our great city, this is by far one of my favourites  They consistently get great speakers and I always leave feeling inspired and full of knowledge.  The lineup for 2013 is no exception! The Art of Marketing 2013 – Speakers Biz Stone – cofounder of Twitter and named one of the world’s most influential people by Time magazine. Seth Godin – Bestselling author of LinchPin, Tribes and Purple Cow. Charles Duhigg – New York Times reporter and bestselling author of The Power of Habit

Peter Shankman at TEDx Times Square

I originally shared this on the Pulp & Fiber blog at work yesterday. I saw a tweet from Peter Shankman with this video from his talk at TEDx Times Square in New York last month. This 15 minutes will give you a a laugh and make you think about the importance of amazing customer service and how it relates to social media in business. He tells you how to get the audience you want by taking care of the audience you have. He’s all about creating great content and sharing things that are awesome. You can follow Peter on Twitter at @petershankman and there’s a good chance if you tweet him, he’ll tweet you back. Peter is a broadcaster, an advistor to NASA, an Ironman, a skydiver, a social media star, and an all around great guy. I’ve been following Peter for a few years now and he is definitely someone I enjoy following and learning from. We’ve never met in person but we’re friends on Twitter and Facebook and I’d call him a friend. He wished me happy birthday this week too. Hey @casiestewart …Happy birthday! 🙂 — Peter Shankman (@petershankman) May 8, 2013

Boston Bound with Travel Savings from CAA

Last weekend I booked a trip with Sean to visit some friends next month in Boston. I go there about twice a year for a mini vacation. He’s never been to ‘beantown’ so I’m pretty excited to show him around the gorgeous city. Mum is always first to remind me about the importance of travel insurance and for this trip I was able to purchase it online through CAA using my new CAA membership. As I was checking out all the life-side assistance benefits from CAA I was happy to find out I can save money on a Boston CityPASS. The CityPASS allows you to check out some of the greatest attractions in the city at a discounted price. It’s valid 9 days from day of first use and you get to skip most ticket lines with your CityPASS in hand. You know I hate waiting in lines! CityPASS gives you admission to these 5 must-see Boston attractions: New England Aquarium (Never been!) Museum of Science (Never been!) Skywalk Observatory So cool. See photo below! Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (Never been!) Harvard Museum of Natural History OR Revolutionaty Boston at The Old State House The Boston CityPASS was $89.95 and with CAA I saved $45.96 PER TICKET. After having my membership for a mere two months, I have saved more than the membership itself costs! Yeah! I went to the skywalk last year it it was so neat! There’s a full 360 view of downtown Boston. The night I was there the Blue Jays were playing the Red Socks at Fenway Park and I took this photo. I think the Jays won. If you love travel like me, you’ll be happy to know that CAA’s wide variety of travel benefits also feature these fine cities. Atlanta is famous for its…

Video: Grey Goose Cherry Noir at Thompson Toronto

Last month the team at Community put on an awesome launch event for Grey Goose Cherry Noir. Despite the wretched weather that night, the event was a success. We trended to the #1 spot in Canada gaining a few million impressions for our client. It was my first big event with Community as the Director of Social Media and I was pretty happy with the results. Watch the Grey Goose Cherry Noir Launch Video One of my FAV parts of the launch was Instaprint, the Instagram printer we flew in from New York. People could tag their instagrams with #cherrynoir and have them print out at the event. It was so rad. i came home with a stack of about 20. There are smaller launch events happening in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa over the next few weeks. If you haven’t had the chance to try Grey Goose Cherry Noir, pick up a bottle this weekend and have a go. Check out cocktails recipes and connect on Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. <3 CASIE

The Grey Goose Cherry Noir Launch is Tonight

Thursday night, tonight is the launch of Grey Goose Cherry Noir in Toronto at The Thompson Hotel. I have been working on this launch with the client and team at Community Agency for a while now. I am super excited for the event and can’t WAIT for our guests to see what we have in store! Couple Things You Need to Know 1. We are bringing Instaprint the Kickstarter Instagram Printer from New York JUST FOR THIS EVENT. MTV has used it, Bud Light used it for the Super Bowl and now, it will be HERE. If you Tweet #cherrynoir from the Thompson, your Instagram will print out then you can take it home forever (for free). Instaprint from BREAKFAST ny on Vimeo.   2. Follow @GreyGooseCherry on Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter. This is The Tale of Cherry Noir,  six chapters unravel to tell a story and we invite you to be part of it. This is a hint. 😉 Source: cherrynoir.ca via Grey Goose Cherry Noir on Pinterest   3. Get ready to be introduced to the bolder, more dark, and seductive side of Grey Goose. The aroma is of rich ripe black cherries. It will be a sight, an enchanting journey if you will. Source: greygoose.com via Grey Goose Cherry Noir on Pinterest   4. There are 1,930 Results when you Google “casie stewart” and “vodka”.  I have been a vodka drinker for longer than I care to admit. I was in a vodka commercial, I’ve been to countless vodka parties, and had my share of vodka hangovers.  I’m pretty stoked to be working on this and I hope you come along for the ride. See you After Dark, CASIE Tweet to @greygoosecherry

Found this today, thought you’d like it: Hugh Crawford

Photographer Hugh Crawford took a photo a day for 18 years. I started with his photos from 1982 (my year) and it’s neat how people and things look so much like life on Instagram.  One of the things I love about being on the Internet is the massive collection of photos from the last ten years. Check out the archive of all Hugh’s photos here. 1982 Looks Just Like Today, Maybe Yesterday… Jamie Livingston (October 25, 1956 – October 25, 1997) was a New York-based photographer, film-maker and circus performer. Between March 31, 1979 and October 25, 1997, the day of his death, he took a single picture nearly every day with a Polaroid SX-70 camera.[1][2] Livingston’s ‘Polaroid a Day’ photographic diary started at Bard College and though some photos have gone missing from the collection, 6,697 Polaroids remain. The collection, dated in sequence, has been organized by his friends Hugh Crawford and Betsy Reid into an exhibit at the Bertelsmann Campus Center at Bard College called “Photo of the Day”, which opened in 2007.[3] By the next year, the pictures were hosted online and became a popular discovery of several online blogs.[4] From Wikipedia The full article is on mentalfloss here. HAVE AN AWESOME DAY! <3 CASIE

Interview with Peter Bergman (aka Jack Abbott, The Young and the Restless)

I’m not sure if you are aware but I have been watching the Young and the Restless since I was born. I PRV it every single day and watch it religiously. About this time last year I got the opportunity to interview the ONE AND ONLY Victor Newman but was flying out to Costa Rica on a surf trip. I was heartbroken, but sent Barbie to conduct the interivew and it went off with flying colours. Her and Kevin even got a message from Victor for me. He said he missed me. This year at the National Women’s show, Peter Bergman, aka Jack Abbot was in town and I was given the opportunity to interview him. Unfortunately, I was flying to Calagary for a fashion trip and could not do the interview. AGAIN! GAHHHHHH! Below is an awesome interview done by Barbie when she met the REAL Jack Abbot. Please enjoy & comment. Thank you to Mr. Bergman’s PR for arranging and HUGE thank you to Barbie for doing an great job.  This her unedited interview with commentary, enjoy! It’s funny. Interview with Peter Bergman (aka Jack Abbott, The Young and the Restless) Last year, I had the pleasure of interviewing Victor Newman (played by Eric Braeden). This year at the National Women’s Show, I got to interview his arch nemesis, Jack Abbott (played by Peter Bergman). I must admit, I wasn’t as excited as I was when I got to meet “the moustache” but I was pleasantly surprised with Peter’s charisma. Sabrina: How do you like Toronto? Peter: I love Toronto; it is a “YandR Mecca” – more devoted YandR fans here than any other city, over Boston, Chicago or New York City. All the cast members love coming to Toronto. When I checked into my hotel last night, 3 guys came up…
