BEST IN THE WORLD

Mum rung me screaming at 5AM Sunday morning as if it was the middle of the afternoon. It was a very proud moment for Kiwis around the world. Rugby is our sport and we won the World Cup again! I’m so proud. I can’t wait to go back to NZ & see my family & go down to the Harbour where this video was filmed. When I was in NZ for Fashion Week I stayed at the Westin just around the corner from here. Thanks to my lovely friend Hannah in NZ for sharing this. I couldn’t help but have tears of joy. Pretty EPIC MATE!

Oh Snap!

Last month Keri & hit up the Lomography shop for the Diana World Tour. Got my first camera from the Lomography shop August 3 (blog history FTW!) and have been playing around with it. I’m using a Sprocket Rocket and although I’ve not had THAT much luck with my shots, it’s fun waiting to get them developed. Here’s my most recent batch! Sorry for cutting off your hear Arianne! Social Change Through the Social Web: The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind

Today I’m biking over to Yonge Dundas Square (where I won a car last week!) to launch koodonation.com, an online hub that connects volunteers with non-profits through micro-volunteering. There’s gonna be a fun ‘Wipeout’ style game for uni kids and I’m a judge with Jeremy Taggart of Our Lady Peace and Daniel Johnson from Stereos. The whole fun event is hosted by Sheena from MTV Live. We’re volunteering our time and Koodonation.com is making a $20,000 contribution to a charity of our choice. My charity is the Moving Windmills Project which supports Malawian-run rural economic development and education projects in Malawi. Mum introduced me to William’s story and I wanted to get involved. i’m thankful today and every day thereafter

Happy Tuesday and welcome to a short week. Really good last couple days. Thanksgiving yesterday was the best. I’d say the trail hike by the river was my fav part (besides the food!). Mum & Steve put on the hugest dinner and it was so nice to have a massive group of family & friends together. now that’s a pool party

I love this weekend. Mum has about 20 people coming tomorrow and five of us are going to be part of it. Cleaned the house today. The sunshine is beautiful. We are so luck to have this warm, bright weather. Slumber party tonight then home in early afternoon. Quite excited to see all the sisters together. Must not forget camera. I’ve packed up heaps of goodies to take home. I especially love bringing Mum a few things 😉 Found this dream boat while I was cleaning up. Cashed this at the coin machine today in Liberty Village Metro, ended up with $60. So convenient. I will only ever roll coins for fun from now on. When I was cleaning up I found this old Globe & Mail article with my sister and I on the Society page. Was for the most epic pool party I’ve ever been to, Bridal Bash II. We’re the “bikini clad blondes” who “commandeered a canoe” filled with vodka flasks who gave shots to the guests. Canoe was the best spot to see the concert, Burton Cummings & a girl from the Supreme’s. Recognize any of these people? Prize if you can. This track is the fav of the week on Bondi FM, my fav radio station in Australia. When I lived in Bondi and for the first few years after, I listened to it all the time. Instead of cleaning my room I’m blogging about cleaning my room while NOT AT ALL cleaning my room. Phone vibrates on the counter and the thing get’s my attention again. Damn. Just got a ticked to AndroidTO. Going to opening night of Another Africa a Canadian Stage production. Imagine the ADD people are gonna have years from now. Crazy. Is there an app for Mum telling you to clean your room? SO nice & warm out today eh. Our place is really sunny. I got Alpha-getti for lunch. Tomorrow I do that cleanse and I’m kinda nervous/excited. Went sailing on Lake Ontario yesterday with a friend. It was great. Felt like a mini-vacation. Meet Bandit. I love this city, so damn pretty. Cue Mickey Avalon, So Rich, So Pretty. I can only imagine how lovely it was for Mum on her sailing trip. I absolutely love, love, love sailing. Nothing like being on the water. It was just windy enough to get a little speed. This one reminds me of you Mum. Blogged most of this from a taxi on my Macbook Air using Telus mobile 3G wifi en route to the Telus Centre for TEDxToronto. WHOA. THE FUTURE is friendly!!

Autumn Splendor in Tranquil Muskoka

Had an awesome couple days out of the city. After a big 10 day non-stop go-go-go festival, I needed a break. Last year I shipped off to New Zealand for NZ Fashion Week a few days after TIFF and I came back soooo tired. I vowed to give myself a break this year. Purchased the “Autumn Splendor in Tranquil Muskoka” from Jaunt.ca for $99. We stayed at the Bayview Wildwood Resort, Severn Bridge, ON. Food & accommodations were lovely, I enjoyed the view, lake and silence the most. Over the summer I did a Toronto Grafitti Tour and stayed at the SoHo Metropolitan with Jaunt so I knew it would be a good buy. Sammy was all dressed up for the gallery that night and we had limo service. I REALLY wanted to canoe and we could use whatever we wanted form the equipment shed which was nice. Rode bikes when we first arrived then took a canoe for a spin. Canoed to brekky… … and back from the main house to the cottage. I feel relaxed and ready to take on the million things coming up in my calendar from now till the New Year. 2012 FTW! (I kid, I kid) Going away me realize I need to get out of the city more. Thank you Ford Canada for the use of a Fiesta from the media fleet. I loved driving the little thing. Mum also loved it. I drove more than 10 hours including the visit to Mum and going up North. It was great on gas too. Hope your week is off to a relaxing start. Have an awesome day!

Had a lovely time at home with Mum. We went to the Preston Music Festival yesterday to see the locals and check out Bongas band. Was rad to see so many familiar faces. Stopped by the Firkin Pub and who mega high school reunion. HI GUYS! Bonga your band is really good. Impressed with your skills! These folks dancing was so cute. Off to Muskoka today w/ Sam for some more R&R by the lake. I really wanna canoe or kayak. Good day for a long country drive too. Leave you with this tune from the Sheepdogs. So good.

Woke up feeling pretty inspired today. The chill in the air reminds me winter is around the corner but instead of being down, I though about all the time I’ll spend inside working on new ideas and projects. Winter is hibernation time. Lots of planning new ideas & projects for Spring/Summer.The Einstein photos is from the Incubus show I went to recently, Brandon on drum in the front. Been trying to decide which Docs to get with a gift certificate I have and after seeing this girl, I think I’ve decided. Docs shoes for the win. Will be able to wear them all year and they look cute with socks/tights. Having a BBQ at Mum’s for dinner tonight. Super excited to see her. Sent her flowers yeaterday and the sound in her voice when she thanked me for them was absolutely priceless. When she was away for a year, there were so many times she didn’t have Skype so we weren’t able to chat. The fact that I can ring her at work now is something I cherish very much. Planning to escape north of the city on Sunday for a cottagey getaway. This week I learned something pretty cool. Did you know that filling out those annoying captchas actually is helping to digitize old books and newspapers. Check out this video when you have a few minutes. I love the internet. Sheepdogs and Lights at Mod Club

Awesome time last night at the Festival Music House. Having it at The Mod Club is so much better for the music compared to last year’s event at Roosevelt Room. For a girl who hardly ever wears pants, a shipment of tights like this really kick starts the winter wardrobe. This year for Fall/Winter they have lots of texture (light rib, cable rib), colour blocking and animal print. I practically screamed when I opened the package. THANK YOU SECRET! George Strombo’s TIFF Takeover at The Hazelton

Cue Katy Perry TGIF cause last Friday night Keri, Lauren and I had an awesome time at The Hazelton and I’d do it allllllllll again.Red carpet love from your three fav blondes 🙂 There were thousands of people gathered around watching. I wore a top from Bicyclette, American Apparel Late Night Disco Shorts and Jeffrey Campbell pixie wedges with Zebra nails & matching purse. Most of these next photos are from Keri’s blog, check it here. I didn’t take camera. I spy Julian & Notable.ca. I met CLIVE OWEN. I love him. My fav role he played was in Closer with Natalie, Julia and Jude. He was beautiful and charming in person, just like in my dreams. Mega swoon. Bono, Jason Reitman, Gerard Butler, Juliette Lewis, Jon Hamm and heaps more celebs were there too. Thanks for another great party George. CBC Live tweeted that we were there along with all the celebs. How cool is that Mum?! Finally met Amber Mac. Her name comes up all the time, she said the same, although we had never met in person before. Super nice girl. Been following her for years. Sarah Was super cute and said “ahhh my fav bloggers all together”. Her post is here. More blonde blogging babes! Lynsie is covering Fashion Week in London. Congrats girl! Kris was my fav meet of the evening. I was certain he was Chris Martin from Coldplay but he is an actor on Tudors who is also a Pentathlon, riding and fencing champion. Mega catch there. For sure my fav party of the whole Toronto Film Festival. It was great to see all kinda of people I hardly see on the regular. Thanks Strombo & CBC for doing it up again this year. I’m happy to my acceptance as a Delegate for TedXToronto on September 23! I attended last year and it was quite riveting. For details on how you can take part in the conference go here. There’s a few speakers this year I know personally so I’m really looking forward to being there. Not sure who the hosts are. Thought of you when I saw this Mum. Orange hearts painted outside Roy Thompson Hall. Orange tie. Mel. Everyone was ringing their bike bells for Jack. I Rang mine heaps too. I love how he inspired positivity in so many people. Has anyone in Canada had an impact like this before? I loved the old photos and seeing things people made for him. Few cans of orange crush too. Drum practice at N.P.Square. Huge clap when his daughter talked about his fashion sense in the early years. The funeral was beautiful. Music, singing, kind words. You were awesome Jack Layton. Your spirit will live on in me and so many people. Your funeral was touching. (I balled my eyes out to be honest.) Biked all over with Keri looking at the chalk and reading messages people wrote you. Everyone clapped and sang at your funeral. Tears, smiles and lots of love. You made the world a better place. I will do my best too. Went for a short cruise this morning. Wanted to feel the cool air on my face, in my hair. I’ve got a full day of creative writing ahead of me. New project with client is very fun. You’ll know about it soon when the site launches. 😉 Watch & overalls are my fav things right now. Watch Hamilton (Swatch), overalls H&M. Cleaned my room and have about $500 in gift cards for Holts, West 49 (Billabong new stuff is rad) and Gaffas (new glasses!). Stoked to take myself out for some BTS shopping. Been though a bunch of this exact same Converse model the last few years. Comfy & cute. Got these fresh new ones last week. Will not wear them to a concert or festival. We all know what happened last time at Beerfest. Remember Exhibit Ikea? I told you to go the other day. They are tearing it down right now. Can’t imagine how much dosh they put into renovating that space for a four day gallery showing. It was beautiful though. I’d like to live there for an art experiment exhibit. My arthritis arm has been killing the last 24 hours so I popped a bunch of these. No, they are not Viagra. Aleve! Had a great call w/ Stephen about our show launching September 8th. Meeting out designers tonight for logo chat. I’m going long boarding tonight too. Preeeetttty stoked. I’ve always wanted to give’er a go. Don’t worry Mum, I’ll wear a helmet and wrist guards. thursday mashup: whole bunch of things to tell you

This is Kreayshawn, she’s up for a Video Music Award (VMA) as Best New Artist this year. Chatted her from LA last week and did an interview for PinkMafia. Read it here. Thanks Amex for a great night. Journey was awesome live. A night to remember with a bunch of really good people. We got the star treatment from start to finish. Amex has been a good friend, remember last year’s Amex Canvas event when I won my lovely iPad Andy? Won tickets to Ke$ha last night too. Thanks team! Gotta work my way up to a Gold card. Beerfest 2011, The Sheepdogs, Sunshine & Rain

Welcome to the Social Media Lounge. Turned out great cause we had food & beer service inside our lounge with a roof over head. Considering how hard it rained here & there, appreciated it heaps. You get one glass like this to fill up with different beers. I had heaps of beer tokens and was the Suga Mama for my peeps. I surprisingly didn’t get drunk and was sober when I came home. Thankful for that. I’m growing up, clearly. I also love being Suga Mama. My Converse at the start of the day. Crisp, white, cute. My Converse now. Dirty, muddy, ruined. Sheepdogs chilled in our lounge for a bit. ET Canada was there doing stories. I love guys who look like Jesus. I’m not religious but that look has me hooked like Sunday morning. Nice meeting you babes. You’re gonna be huge. These pix are for you Mum!! Told them about you 🙂 Fan girls. (fatal attraction to cuteness) Top of the Budweiser Big Rig! Spent lots of time on that thing last year at BudCamp. Saw a bunch of my BudCamp babes around too. Not confirmed if I’ll be there again this year. Here comes the rain. We got drenched. It was AWESOME. Everyone was swayin’ in the crowd singing along to the Sheepdoggies. It was very rock-festivally. Dear God, yes please. With a side of bass. Party on Wayne. Sheepdoggy Style.
