1,776 Steps! Did The CN Tower Climb for WWF Canada

I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do the CN Tower climb and this month the opportunity came to climb with CLIF Bar for WWF Canada. I asked April to join me and we conquered it in 23 minutes! That’s 144 official flights plus the few it takes to get to the first numbered stairs and then a couple extra flights to the glass floor lookout. TELUS Day of Giving + Make-A-Wish, Rope for Hope

I took part in a Telus Day of Giving Event with #TeamTelus crew for Make-A-Wish® Rope for Hope. We rappelled down Toronto City Hall! I’ve done some rock climbing and adventure things like The Edgewalk, zipline, and sky diving but this was FULL ON. AND DOWNTOWN TORONTO! All money raised by Make-A-Wish® Rope for Hope rappellers goes to granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. It was really fun. I’m not really one for team sports but I love adventure things like this! It was a litte scary going over the edge but once I started going down it was easy. CottageLife | You Might Just Need An Entire Weekend of Sleep

Hellooooo November! I love summer but there’s something so calming and creative about winter that makes me want to lock myself inside and write or organize the house. I did neither of those things this weekend. I slept at least 25 hours. I took as many extra hours of sleep as I could find! We spent most of the weekend on the couch watching shows and movies from Netflix or iTunes. The fridge is full of takeout. I was tired. I had work to do but I just didn’t have the energy. Today I feel much better and ready to take on the world! Whenever it’s a new month, year, and sometimes even day I look back and feel grateful for memories or think about how life has changed. Two years ago Sunday, Dad and I did the CN Tower Edgewalk thanks to Mastercard Canada’s Priceless Surprises. Timehop is a great app for looking back on that you posted on Twitter or Facebook that day (see posts about the app). Saw this rusty rat rod truck that made me think of you Daddio! He custom builds hot rods and is working on his own rat rod right now. It’s the start of Movember so I can’t help but think about the MoSistas TO pinup calendar from last year 2012. (Gah, I can’t believe it was 2 years ago!) The girls and I had a good time getting dolled up. I was May. Apron was Mum’s and I love it. I use it on the regular. I hope I still have that scarf. In other news, Regina George started following me today and I’m already into the Christmas music w/ one of my favalbums by She & Him. Where do we find the will and the courage to continue?

This is one of my fav songs on one of my fav all time albums. This weekend I sat alone, late and at the cottage kitchen table writing, finally working on that book I’m been talking about, and finally doing some web stuff I’ve been avoiding. It wasn’t until I slowed down, I realized how fast I was going. I’ve always liked MIA but “Live fast, Die Young” isn’t in my creative “take over the world” plan. If I’m ever having a bad day, I go put on Lisa Loeb – Tails or White Stripes – Elephant. I love those albums. This is Dad and I doing the CN Tower Eggewalk about a year ago, almost to the day. It was so awesome. This Makes Me Happy When problems overwhelm, us and sadness smothers us, where do we find the will and the courage to continue? Well, the answer may come in the caring voice of a friend, a chance encounter with a book, or from a personal faith. For Janet help came from her faith, but it also from a squirrel. Shortly after her divorce, Janet lost her father, then she lost her job. She had mounting money problems. But Janet not only survived, she worked her way out of despondency and now she says, life is good again. How could this happen? She told me that late one Autumn day when she was at her lowest she watched a squirrel storing up nuts for the winter, one at a time he would take them to the nest. And she thought, if that squirrel can take care of himself with the harsh winter coming along, then so can I. Once I broke my problems into small pieces I was able to carry them, just like those acorns, one at a time.…

Summer 2012: These Are A Few of My Favourite Things

As I was looking at photos I remembering heaps of cool things I did over the past few months. I am so thankful for the Internet, Twitter, Instagram etc. cause I could forgotten moments if I wasn’t constantly documenting. I started blogging in 2005 as a way to ‘keep more memories’, seven years later it’s the best thing I could have done. It works as a constant reminder to be grateful & show gratitude for all the wonderful people & experiences in my life. These are some of my favourite things I’ve done in the last few hot months. Summer Highlights 2012: Muskoka Weekends & Boating. Montreal weekend. Skydiving in Boston. Harley Riding. Outdoor Rock climbing w/ Ford & Bloggers. Beerfest w/ Carly & Lauren. Partying w/ the girls. Filming w/ Coral TV & growing the channel to over 1,000 subscribers & 125,000+ views! Hanging out w/ Mum. Driving on the Ford Track in Michigan w/ media from around the world. Oh and this guy 😉 Speaking at NXNE. NXNE Parties MMVA Show, Gifting lounges, & parties Banff World Media Festival, first time out West! Birthday falling on the same day at Hawaii’s company launch Being a Production Assistant on a short film in Orangeville. Hitting the beaches in Miami & Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Doing the Edgewalk of the Cn Tower w/ Dad Working w/ O’Nizz & Raymi for Menkes, video is 20,000+ views now! The next few weeks are super busy. I’m realxing this weekend in preparation for FNO, Fashion Cares, ten days of TIFF and end of September activities. Here we go!

When you find an old song you for got then you remember it. So good. Love this one by the White Stripes, Little Acorns. I paused the Y&R so I could listen. Was googling for a girl in a wing suit because the wind suit kinda looks like the CN Tower Edge walk suit and today Mastercard hooked me up with the experience to make it happen in the Spring. I’ve been tweeting I wanna do the Edgewalk since it was invented, last tweet was Oct. 4. The vault was full of vouchers and there was a grand prize of a $10,000 card with a trip to NY or London. I would love to go to New York or London or anywhere. Countdown gif, hehe. Base jumping is terrifying & fascinating. I have bungy and skydive in line before I try that one. I found this one crazy/awesome girl, Géraldine Fasnacht, who does mind-blowing wing suit flying. This video get’s intense at :40 and then my heart drops. After watching this I got lost in a wingsuit girl TIMEWARP of the the internet. I’ll need to get someone to shoot from by balcony when I do the walk on he Tower. I can get pretty close with the new lens Olympus sent over. Omg next week I am going surfing. This week is very chill compared to the last few months. I planned it that way. I want to feel relaxed when I leave for vacation. In one week I will be here. It does’t seem real yet but I’m trying to imagine. 🙂 * Little acorns, one at a time. Storing up nuts for the winter.

live your life as it’s meant to be

First day for a while it’s not been sunny out. I find myself to be very productive on these days. Dive right into my computer! This song is a good motivator. I’m on the edge of glory, I’m on the edge! I wanna do the EDGE WALK on the CN Tower. Hair is back to a nice blonde. I really wanna grow it out this winter. It’s a mega process. Had it short for so long now. If I focus I can do it. I mean, make it through the awkward stages! Got any tips? Luckily I love wearing hats. Really loving new desk setup. Mac things are so pretty. My Dodo Case for iPad is totally busted. Basically a scrap of bamboo. I really need to EM them about that. Got a new Motorola DEFY yesterday adn I’m happily back on the Telus Mobile Network. Doing a photo shoot tonight with Lauren, Raymi, Anna and some babes for PinkMafia. Had a wicked sleep last ngiht so hopefully I don’t look tired! Saw this on BlogTO today and I really want to Edgewalk the CN Tower. Hoping I can do it soon. I hear it’s kinda pricey. Totally worth it for the rush. Imagine someone unhooks themselves and jumps off? I’m sure they though of that already & have taken precautions. Talk about ultimate suicide!
