Starting Monday I’m in a national advertising campaign with HTC! They’ve chosen to feature me in a new campaign that will run for 14 weeks on lifestyle and entertainment sites across Canada. I’ve been working with Say Media for a few months. Have you ever noticed the video ads in my sidebar? That’s them. I’m their leading lifestyle blogger in Canada. these are a few of my favourite things (right now)

This post if full of things that add glitter to my life. Thought I’d share with ya. Bangs from Doll Bar, Olympus PEN, vintage hats. I’ve been trying a new routine of going to bed earlier and waking up earlier. Once you get outta bed, you can really accomplish heaps before the day really started. That’s my September goal: do more before 10am than most people do in a whole day. My October goal is: go to England or New Zealand. Settin’ em high. YES WE CAN. Sprocket Rocket camera from Lomography. I’ve got heaps of film because, frankly, I’m not that good at using the camera so I need to take heaps of shots before I can be considered good. Analogue is haaaarrrrrrd. New duvet cover is the alphabet, say hello to my ALPHA bed. See what I did there? Oh yeah, creative play on words. New flowery pillow looks painted and that eye mask is from Keri. I sleep with an eye mask pretty much every night. I live in a glass box, it’s SO SUPER sunny in the AM! Although, getting to sleep is never a problem thanks to my new memory foam mattress. According to bestmattress-reviews, there are a number of quality options at a lower price than you’d think. Gadget love: iPad (Andy), Macbook Air (James Dean), Android (Motorola DEFY), Logitech wireless mouse. I spend most the day with these guys. Ok, here’s something really amazing….you won’t BELIVE how tall I am with these legendary things strapped on. Aren’t they beautiful? They’re Jeffrey Campbell and I ordered them online at Solestruck. such a classy lassie wants to get FREAKY.

I first mentioned Freaker a couple months back after seeing this video on Kickstarter. They were lookin’ for donations to kick start their company Freaker USA. Aaaaaaaaaand, they did it! Over $60,000! What impressed me the most was their company culture, Zach’s story and the lingo they used to talk about Freaker. Freakin’ awesome. That’s Zach with the mega beard! These kids know how to have fun. This is how Freaker was born… Today I got a freaky Freaker package in the mail from the Freaker Team. Loved getting a hand written note. Have a jacket to match my new Freaker too 🙂 THANK YOU! ILU ♥

CASIE, HOW ARE YOU USING SPOTIFY IN CANADA?

Clearly people and interested! I’ve had heaps and heaps of questions about how I am using Spotify in Canada the last few weeks. I was in the USA when Klout gave “influencers” a Klout perk last month. Everyone was like “WTF we can’t use our code in Canada, wahhhh, wahhhh”. I signed up thinking “I better get on this while I’m here since I go home in a few days blah blah blah”. When I got home, IT STILL WORKED. OMFG HEAD EXPLODE, MIND BLOWING. That’s how I have Spotify. You can get it too, get curious and look it up yo! Use a proxy, (If you want to go overkill try one made for accessing Piratebay, that’ll work really well) Go to the USA and sign up there Ask a friend online or offline to sign up an account for you I’ve been totally loving it. Music is filling my house and the playlists are introducing me to beautiful sounds I’ve never heard before. One of my friends is an aspiring artist and she has a few songs coming out on Spotify soon so I cannot wait to give them a listen! She also told me that because the number of streams your tracks get is so important these days, she has considered buying some Spotify plays from the Get Fans website here: https://getfans.io/buy-spotify-plays. what do you love? ♥

I love discovering new things. Last month Google rolled out www.wdyl.com and I just found out about it from Techcrunch. It’s hard to keep up on all the Google gossip! With all the talk about Google+ lately, I see how it slipped by most peoples radar. I checked it out last night & found an interesting discovery… Here we go: Went to the site, searched something I love (uh, myself! You would search yourself too right?). Found a few things, including explore “casie stewart” in 3D with Google Sketchup. You can create anything 3D there, haven’t tried it yet. Youtube channel and gmail came up along with searches in blogs, photos, and books. Books? I recognize that book. That’s my book. I wrote when I was 14 with Holly Heiblinger, it’s called JEANS. Published Canadian Author, oh yeah. I’ve never seen it online. I mean, I never reallllllly looked but there she is right in Google Books and the library archives. I was mega involved with writing and my community at that age. Our book is categorized in Canadian poetry (English) 20th century, Literary Collections / Canadian, Children’s Literature & Teenagers’ writings, Canadian (English). It’s no longer in print so don’t try to order one! I’ve only got a couple draft copies. Reckon Mum might have some in the basement. I used to write heaps. Well, I still write lots but more diary than poetry. One say I will escape to a far away place and get all the notes from the notebooks into digital form. Maybe with my new computer? Omg, I ‘m getting a new computer today. Downloaded a poetry magnet app for iPad called Verses Poetry. I like to play on/with words. Need to get more words unlocked though, running slim on options. Dr. Martens Fall Preview 2011

Oh hey there. Mama loves new shoes! Last night I cruised by the Fall Preview of Dr. Martens. I’ve been a Docs lover since primary school so it’s awesome to be invited to check this out. I took all these photos cause I love the shoes. My fav ones right now are Eclectic in white canvas & Triumph 14 Eye. Get ready for some serious shoe pr0n… For the stylish & sophisticated wearer. Love these bad boys. Real fur. Imagine the comfort & snuggles for your feet. I have those Triumphs on the right but with tartan inside. Jay Strut is in el-oh-vee-eee with these ones. That’s Doug in the background, International Sales Manager. He gets to wear Docs errry day! We were at the Sheraton, 30, miles stories high. Constantly distracted by things that are shiny. The classics. Carly needs the pink ones. I had saddle shoes as a kid. I still do 🙂 I forget that these are called but rockabilly guys with the James Dean look wear them. I dig it. These ones are all pretty classy looking. I’m impressed with the wide range of shoes they have. They are really well made and versatile. The really tall 20 inch boots make me want them. It’s really warm out today. I’m not feeling motivated. I should go outside. I have work to do. I can have my office anywhere. Sand is bad for the computer and it’s hard to see in the sun. I need one of those screen shields for my computer and iPad so I can still use my units outside. First world problem. I’d like to spend more time organizing my circles on G+ but then I think why are you always on the computer? Go outside. Brought out a draft copy of my book for friends last night. It’s called JEANS and it was published when I was 16. Did you know I’m an author? You are reading the book of my life right now. U2 played here at the Dome last night (Rogers Centre). We could hear it from the balcony, now that’s VIP. So VIP that we’re not even in the building. Had a few beers on the patio. Haven’t been drinking much lately and it feels really nice. I forgot to have dinner and remembered today. Woke up starving, Australian made breakfast. I’d like to do a Twiggy inspired shoot soon. I’m thinking about growing my hair. I always say that but cut it off. The shave feels so nice. One video of me getting my head shaved has almost 15k+ views. There’s another show tonight and I will get a better shot. See these two babes (no not me) Chantelle & Alana! They know me longer than you or the internet! OMGCANYOUBELIEVEIT. Chantelle and I danced together when I was 3+ years old. Then I tried to ride this bad boy but my feet couldn’t really reach the pedals making it nearly impossible to ride. Chantelle is taller so she was fine. I have to go get ready for class now. A Little History on How I Got Here

I woke up this morning determined to find my hot pink photo album and bring back some memories. I didn’t find it but I did come across a bunch of things that made me feel fond about friends, happy about starting a new year and proud of things I’ve done. This was me at Mum’s house on my 21st birthday, eight years ago. This was me at Mum’s house on my 21st birthday, eight years ago. A few months after that photo I shipped off to Australia for university. This was right before the airport, my family. There was a time where I thought I’d never get Mum & Dad together for a photo but such is no longer the case. I grew up so much that year I was away. This was at The Moose in Kitchener (anyone from there will recognize it!) the day I got back from Aus. I was so tiny, all my friends were like “where did your boobs go?”. I left at about 125lb and came back barely 100. Living at the beach is a great diet. I figure today, my birthday is as good of a day as any to share some memories of where I came from/how I got here. One thing that always changes, is my hairstyle. I’ve had so many colours. Teen model. That was not the end of teen modeling. Oh no, there was much more. And more. After I won this pageant I did all kinds of fashion shows. It was really fun to be honest. I got lots of practice being in front of the camera, walking on stage and it introduced me to some people at Gap where I got my first ever real job. I had braces for about two years in high school. sometimes i don’t feel like it #3

I’m immersed in technology from the moment I wake up to when I go to bed. I often wonder what it’s like to wake up and not check the internet. Blogging about your own life is a wierd and wonderful thing but sometimes I don’t feel like it. This isn’t a new feeling. I didn’t feel like it Jan. 13, 2011, Oct. 6, 2010, Aug. 2, 2010, Jan. 30, 2010. Everyone has days they don’t fee like clocking in at the office. Remember going on vacation and being out of touch and not knowing what is going on at school or around the water cooler? That doesn’t happen anymore. I’m addicted to connecting, multitasking, multiplatform updates. When I break I escape to tumblr. Well, that’s not really a break from the inernet but it’s really nice 🙂

Boston’s true luxury experience, The @LenoxHotel

Time for some daydreaming… About you… Stopped into Hubba Hubba, a fun shop around the corner from this pretty window. Then I went o hang out at MIT. This mural is in the basement near washrooms by the main cafeteria. “I’m at MIT” They had BLUE Vitamin Water. Yo, O’Nizzle, we need to try that kind. It’s called “Stur-D” I did not eat these things but people do. The States has some interesting (fatty) snacks. Havard mixer anyone? I hung out at MIT & read the paper. Yeah, yeah I do. Thanks for the lunch date Zuckerberg. This is pretty neato. Who calls things ‘neat’? Andy Hall, that’s who. Let me get right in there for a sec. People were looking at me…is this bad luck? Classic shot of Boston. CITCO is how you find Fenway. Stayed at The Lenox on Friday night. Super nice hotel. I tweeted them and they never tweeted me back. I hate that. I was hoping they would be like “Oh Ms. Stewart, lovely to have you” (at least). Here is some champagne. The hotel was super packed with lean people for the Boston Marathon. Lenox is right at the finish line. I was quite (pleasantly) surprised to see ipads in several hotels/shops around Boston. Yay for technology. Ellen & I. The bell boys were all so very nice. we are all born superstars

Looking at my own house from the tarmac at Porter. It took me <15min to walk there, in heels. Who WALKS to the airport? You bet your ass I felt damn cool strollin’ rollin’ in that door. Right before I boarded the plane something awesome happened, I got my first ever FULL PATDOWN in PUBLIC! It was done by a hot babe and we were giggling. I told her I was gonna blog about it. I had the hugest smile on my face the whole time. They really pat you down all over if ya know what I mean 😉 Toronto Island is quite pretty, will look even nicer once the trees get all greened up. I really notice a differnece between my old camera (Cannon Elph) and the new camera (Olympus XZ-1) when taking shots from the air. New is MUCH clearer. Started reading the poetry book sent to me by Vanessa Grillone, My Pen My Voice. I’m thinking I really should re-issue my poetry book. I wrote some pretty aweosme stuff when I was young. Thanks for the book Vanessa. Everytime I travel I still can’t believe they let me use this passport photo. Red lipstick & a big bow, in my hair. Who the hell am I? haha. I’m Casie Stewart, that’s who. One of the great(est) things about flying Porter are the snacks & free drinks. They have these great sandwiches on really nice bread w/ brie and of course Steamwhistle. * tights were sent to me from SECRET. What up Beantown! Here I come. music: first time at @TheDakotaTavern. yeah, really.

I don’t go to music stuff that much. Last night I went to the Dakota Tavern, do people call it Dakota Tav? Cause they do that down under and it seems cooler. [ Retracts hipster comment.] I love live music and crowds and spinning around on the dance floor or (even better) in the grass. I reckon I start going to more. So fun. Music was fun. Atmostphere & company funner. Sometimes I really wanna be in a band. Shiny disco balls. BE NICE OR LEAVE. Be nice, it’s so much fun. I used to live near this place on Dundas, by the 7-11. I was reminded of The Red Wheelbarrow. so much depends upon a red wheel barrow glazed with rain water beside the white chickens. We had a chuckle that this kinda looks fun, not like “DYING” more like pushing. Time for a new diagram. This one is funny. I love poems. I have a passion for publishing poetry and allitertation. They were from the book of Gord. I can hear seagulls outside. Wasn’t that storm today wonderful, more than. I am trying to eat breakfast more. I hear that’s what healthy people do and I wanna be one. laptop lovers, a salad king and a walk in the park

On the phone with Mum here. The light building at Ryerson is very pretty. I didn’t know about it! Chantelle took these pretty pix. We tried so hard to get the right jumping photo. I really wanted to look like Mary Poppins with my jacket but I didn’t. Chantelle has been my friend since I was a weel little girl. We danced together at Meyerhopher in Cambridge when I was 4. Now we have matching laptops! #nerdlove She came to TO from the Bridge to hang out with me last night. We had a lovely dinner at Salad King on Yonge (new location does not have LLBO permit yet). We cruised around Yonge/Dundas had a bevy & some good laughs. This is Chantelle’s other childhood friend Katie, she’s into all kinds of stuff different than me like Reiki, metaphysical realms & stuff. She called me a fairy and I liked it. She has these fairy cards and maybe on day I will let her tell my fairy forture. I bet it is something like “awesome spreader of sparkles & positive glitter”. The thing I LOVE about true friends is you can pick up right where you left off. It’s been over a year since I saw her and we never even missed a beat! Tonight I’m being interviewed for a podcast called The Vinyl Countdown, it’s a podcast about video games that’s not usually about video games. Will be fun! Hello friends! Feels kinda Springy today, not that I’ve been outside or anything. Erin Leydon shot this of me in the summer. Amazing how the change in time, season, daylight really effects us humans.
