Went to the Sailor Jerry thingy last night with Carly. It was ok, not that exciting. Anna took our photo for EXTRA and we had some good chats. They had burgers & stuff but all I had was rumski/coke. Karrera is in town so I booted home to spend the night with her. So awesome. I really miss her now that she moved out west. We’ve been besties sine we were like 12. Planning to attend an exclusive opening with Carly again tonight, hopefully the rain won’t break my stride. Brought Kelly Cutrone’s book for her to borrow. If you’ve not read it, do it, it’s fucking awesome. If You Have to Cry Go Outside. Wearing wellies and a rain coat today, as you would imagine. My Marketing Team at MuchMTV has a burrito lunch together today for our meeting. So hungry. Ya! Ai ai ai ai ai aia ia ai ai ai yeeeeeeeeee!! (That’s me excited for burito). This is me today. Grey hair, glasses, Dr. Martens, tan, smile. I just went to Mc Donalds for lunch. It was tasty as usual, I know it’s bad for me but I like it and i’ve been eating the stuff my whole life and it’s still not “caught up to me”. Life is short, do what makes you happy, eh! The stage is getting set up at work for the MMVA show June 20th. I’m pretty stoked that I’m the Twitter person, it’s the most fun job I reckon. Karrera is coming over tonight. She moved out West in Jan and we’ve been friends since we were kids so it’s pretty exciting. Today when I logged into Tumblr I was like WTF, YOU ARE BLACK NOW? Not that there’s anything wrong with it, I would have said the same thing is it was any colour. The reason Tumblr is black is they are requesting & matching donations for Safe Our Gulf. shopping is more fun with a drink in your hand

Yesterday’s mini dress is one of my favorite purchases from Apt. 909. I’ve had it for a couple years and it was in the kiddie section! I matched with my very loved vintage cowboys I picked up at a little shop in Bondi, Australia. After work I attended the Notable TV RW & Co excluuuuuuseive opening party at the Eaton Centre. I rolled up with Carly, (Fairlie Agency) & Reggie (GotStyle Menswear). Carly and I both have fresh shaved heads, such a great feeling and perfect for this hot hot heat. Thanks to Darren for mine! You know this handsome face – blogger & comic man Sean Ward. I always make it out to Notable TV events to support Julian and see/meet cool peeps. The party was catered by my MOST favorite Toronto catering company, The Food Dudes. They honestly make the best food out of any party I’ve been to (and that’s A LOT of parties!). I finally met Dejana Bajic (aka Shopsterium), we follow each other on the Twitter. She stopped me right away to snap a pic and introduce herself. She got some good ones of the event you can check out on her bloggy. Enjoy the day, she’s a bloody hot one out there! 🙂

the trouble with jogging is that ice falls out of your glass

Been sleeping like a log since I got my new bed last weekend. It’s amazing what a difference it makes! Looking forward to the weekend, she’s a long one and I’ve got nothing planned. Might head East to the beaches to see Jenie for some sun lazing. I want to do nothing, I want to have no plans and just take each day as it comes. I’m definitely gonna pop down to the urban beach (big sand box by the lake) with my sketchbook. I’d like to sew a new bikini too. Need something really jazzy for Florida next week! Check out my mustache necklace (posted last night on tumblr) that my penpal Hillzy sent me for bday. I love her and gawd I’ve never even met her yet!! Rockin’ Mum’s old hot rod tshirt. This one if from 1981, BEFORE I WAS BORN. I love wearing her old stuff. I’m so happy she kept so much of it. One of the reason i refuse to get rid of all my stuff is I KNOW that one day I’ll have a house big enough to manage my closet. Until then, it’s a bit of a tight squeeze! I got a new phone today from Motorola called the Backflip. This thing lets you stream emails and social networks into one feed and it backs all your stuff up. I’m testing it out this weekend to see if I like it better than the Milestone, that phone is gonna be hard to beat. I’m really liking Android in general. Think I might need to buy myself one of the custom phone cases to look after it though! Stay tuned for my thoughts on it. Twitter released it’s official app for Android today. Downloaded it. So far its ok. The homepage is portrait vs landscape which bugs me and it seems you can only have one account. I’ve been using the Seesmic app to publish and monitor about five accounts for work etc. The RT function doesn’t let you edit tweets first which is pretty annoying. Gonna give it a fair go this weekend along with the new phone. It’s been a really good day. Checked a few things off my list that I’ve been meaning to get done. Feeling super positive and looking forward to the weekend. Think it’s gonna rain tomorrow but I don’t mind, it’s been a busy week. Might clean my room if it’s rainy. Need to catch up on emails (sorry if you’re one of the people I’ve not emailed back yet). Gonna head over to Raymi‘s place for her roomie’s bday party tomorrow night. feeling young and restless

i’m having one of those days. i’ve got heaps to do. it’s getting done but for some reason i’m just outta my head. i keep thinking, stop it, get back to work, don’t let your mind wonder, wander. i wish the sun would com out. it’s cold in here and i’ve not taken my jacket off all day. i even dressed cute today. sigh. i keep reminding myself how fun it’s gonna be tonight watching the hills with a bunch of friends at MTV. i always wanted to be able to do this. in my last post i was so excited and now i feel all weird. i said something stupid last night to a friend after a couple drinks and i think that’s what is getting me. sometimes we say things, it happens. the other day i got so upset over something that was not even necessary. i like to think i’m a simple girl but i’m complex and my mind is like a labyrinth sometimes. i go back and read things tagged writing and i feel some what at ease. it must be the creativity, left hand, wild imagination sometimes gets the best of me. i’m nervous and excited most the time, i love this feeling but sometimes it leaves me feeling open and vulnerable and i get scared. take my own advice, build a bridge and get over it. the other thing is that when you do things online all the time it’s all out there for everyone to see, they can see you, you can see them, the world is somewhat translucent. you can see, but you can’t always see through. this helps, writing it out. i got new analytics ,the other day. google, i love you but your site stats were just not cutting it…

Hung out with my sis the other day. Quite hilarious when we hang out, the older we get the more similar, we are, especially our mannerisms and the way we talk. We spend half the time laughing out loud. For real. People always say we sound the same on the phone, especially our parents. More and more we look similar in photos, too, it’s totally crazy going through her pix. It was so nice down by the lake and watching the sunset If you live her or near the water somehwere, go there more often. Jenie took this pic of me, haha. Pop’a colla. There’s nothing like hanging out with her. Our cousin is coming this week FROM NEW ZEALAND. First young cuzzy that’s been over this side of the planet since I was like ten. Super exciting. Hanging out in the beaches with Carly this afternoon. So nice and heaps of trees around, much different than the concrete jungle where I spend mosta my days. ♥

My taxi cab smells like a skunk, or really stank weed t I think is skunk. Dear god, do not let me step out of this cab smelling like it, I’m on my way to LG Fashion Week . Yesterday I was more into it, now it feels like work. I AM actually working, that’s probably why. But, honestly… I wanna stay there all day and be tired of sooooo many fashion shows. changing the face & < body > language of advertising

Today I went to FW and I was a media, a real media. Being there challenged/changed any old thoughts I had of how Fashion Week goes down. The internet makes everything instant. I imagine the days when clothes are shown IN season and made to order online from the runway via mobile and delivered shortly after … ah, a girl can dream can’t she? I was in the media room often doing work (otherwise known as FB & Tweets) for MuchMTV. I was surrounded by bloggers and traditional media, however, quite impressed by bloggers. Filling up seats and sitting amongst Elle, Flare and the league of fashion then going straight back to little laptops updating blogs with photos hot off the runway. Think of all the people it takes to produce something the ‘old way’ (photo, write, produce, edit, post) then a blogger comes along and is this all-in-one media publishing station. It’s truly amazing. Saw this video today via Marketing Mag basically, there’s NO FUTURE if you’re not going digital. I mean, that’s only true if you wanna advertise anything to anyone, ever. Duh, get up on it; power to the people! Did you know that half of FB’s 400 million users check in EVERYDAY? Take that to the bank. That’s like heaps. The Last Advertising Agency On Earth from FITC I’m a huge Saatchi fan for years but mostly since that book I told you about a couple times, remember? I used to dream about working there. Looks like CGI is doing a good job of listening/paying attention…my Tweet showed up on their homepage today retweeting a photo re: Barbie’s show on Wednesday at LGFW. i can hear you calling my name

I love this city, I do. For some reason, probably many reasons, I started feeling a travel bug this week. Maybe it’s the over whelming amount of things I need to do, starting with cleaning my room (again) and organizing the piles of paper, replying to emails, blogging about things that already happened. That’s the thing about the internet and having a blog about life, sometimes you just want to stop and go back to living a life like those other people who don’t internet their lives. I caught up on sleep this weekend and spent some time with my sister. This stuff helps. I also hung out with my first love, he came to visit and I wondered if there is a spark still there, 10 years later, he’s still great but I think we’ve grown too far apart. I miss that someone special I was hanging out with for a while last year, it all ended so fast. Not having closure gives me anxiety. You get busy and forget about your heart sometimes but when it’s a rainy day at home you miss that love you once had. I can’t seem to find my flip cam in my room, I’m sure it’s just hiding, I know it’s there. I downloaded a whole bunch of apps to my phone last night, there’s this one police light that doesn’t the blue/red with sound. There’s a strobe light too. I’m sure I’ll fond some silly place to put it to use it along with the cheezy soundbyte apps. I’m getting a new tattoo tomorrow. Still have to send in my LGFW schedule for work. I’m most looking forward to Barbie on Thursday. I’ve been watching movies all day and they’re having an effect on my mood for sure, one romantic comedy…

Hello Monday, Nice to see you again. Not a “case” of you today more like a sort of “amazing case” fills the air around me and makes me feel sunny between all these clouds and raindrops. [Case of the Monday’s Mum, it’s from Office Space, a movie] My stylist came over last night and after the hot tub time machine, lectured me that I NEED to make time to get my hair done. I desperately need to go in, but seriously, have not had the time. [Sorry!] I’m going to have to zip over there during the day for an hour this week. Fashion Week is coming and I’ve been invited to a bunch of shows this year including……..BARBIE! I’ve had a bunch of interview requests recently too, so like, seriiiiiiously need ma hair did. The WORST is having your photo documented in history…[dun dun dun] with BAD HAIR. [Talk about first world problems….haha] Made an appointment for my new tattoo yesterday. Right forearm, hot. The guy who is doing my tattoo looks kinda like this babe I tumbled across last night. I never blog about boys, and rarely post photos of them, it’s better that way. Random thought….I have this terrible fear of one day, losing my memory, the only thing I will have to remember is this blog and that is how I will know who my friends are, events, people who matter and those I love. This has been a really busy week. Feeling more Gah Gah than GaGa. I’m usually busy, but seriously, this week has me totally tuckered. Go-go-go non-stop. Everyday. Mama’s tired. Quite looking forward to hibernating over the weekend. Writing, relaxing, finishing up KC’s book. Feeling like it’s new sketchbook day. Have these awesome neon pastels and whole new set of other colours that want me to play with them. I think it’s time. Lisa posted this pic of her, Breanna and I in her post today. So cute! We went to get our dresses fitted all together late week. That in itself, was almost as fun as wearing them to the ball. Thank you so much to everyone who came out last night. i’d like to introduce you guys to some peeps

Oh hi. It’s me Casie. In case you ever wondered, my blog, This is My Life, started out as a way to keep more memories one sunny April day in 2006. This b-b-baby has been a best friend, therapy, and a great platform for me to get closer to the dreams I’ve always had. I love it dearly. Tomorrow evening I’m doing a seminar about blogging with some people I’ve met and been inspired by over the last little while. You may not know them, the same way you know me, so I’m introducing you. Along with being cute and a good friend, she’s really talented. She is a Talent Agent representing principal actors in film, TV and voice. In Jan 2010, her agency, Fairlie Agency launched the New Media division and the Toronto Blog Stars group. Carly has over 15 years experience in the entertainment industry, both on camera and behind the scenes. You’ll get to meet her if coming on Thursday. You may know Raymi from her blog or me mentioning her (if you don’t, I’m a little surprised). She’s been blogging since 2000 and was the first daily blogger I knew; She was cool and from Toronto like me. I immediately added her as a friend on Facebook based on this alone. Whining. Complaining. Just wah-wah-ing ALL over the place. Maybe you have friend like that or possibly someone at work who just likes to shit on everything? They should be called Lady Wah-Wah. My Dad says “cryning” that’s a worse form of crying and whining mixed. Ew. Sure way to make a pretty girl ugly. Why do people do that? I do not understand. I like to check trending topics around the world for things that stand out. In Sao Paulo, I found Laura Fontana. She is 8 years old wants to be Lady Gaga when she grows up. Starts at about 00:50 starting with Bad Romance, then Paparazzi. Kinda weird but whatever. I was dancing on stage wearing makeup when I was 5 and I always wanted to be like that. Way to go little one! New show aired on MuchMusic last night all videos at 11 weeknights, music videos. Avril’s voice in the new Alice once is like yelling. I do not like it.The kaleidoscope for girls and autotune for boys are a big it it seems. Love the paint throwing in Hedley’s video. I want that.

OH: stop marketing, start engaging

First of all, OH = Overheard on Twitter. I layered my tights today as you can see, it’s the perfect way to incorporate fishnets into a cold winter day. Looking forward to trying it with my red guys. I overheard this phrase last night at a session for Social Media Week Toronto held by Scott Stratton. He runs a company called Unmarketing, he’s someone I look up to in the world of social media marketing, this guy really ‘gets it’. I met Scott about this time last year and he’s grown to over 47,000 twitter followers since then. He’s got a book deal now and the tag line for the book and his whole thing is “stop marketing, start engaging“. I learned a heap of stuff last night that’s gonna help me in my job at MuchMTV as well as furthering my own personal brand. i’d like to wish you a happy happy

Chatting away with Sabrina and she said “He told me he saw a look alike of you today!?”, to which I followed “No way really?” said he asked if I “had any recent enhancements?” to which she replied I have not. Ah well, nice to know there’s a look alike somewhere floating around with big boobies, haha. In case you don’t know it’s Doppelganger Week on Facebook which inspired me to post some blonde babes I love. My favorite model is Agyness Deyn, born Laura Hollins in the UK and one year later than me. She’s so fab, really. Her hair is wild and short and blonde and she keeps it amazing all the time. Her style is a whole tickle trunk of awesomeness. I’d love to go through her closet and try stuff on. Nothing would fit me as she’s at least 5’9 and I’m 5’2″. I’d still try everything on and dance around. We’d listen to Charlotte Gaisnbourg and talk about runways of Paris & Milan and drink and twitpic then go out dancing. I like Pink too. Her first album is the only one I’ve owned but that’s not why she’s one I like. It’s her attitude, she’s all “I’m gonna do shit and this is me and I’m gonna be me cause that’s what I’m good at”. She’s not afraid to say she’s crazy, so what, she’s a rockstar, she’s got her rock moves and she don’t need you to like her. Also totally love her new love for public near-naked acrobatics. I love Gaga for pretty much the same reasons I love the others…attitude, look and style. Gaga is fearless and fierce, she’ll stand up for what she loves and how she feels. I try not to get down on myself for not getting everything done right away. I’m kinda anal about sticking to my own rigorous schedule. I was connected to Didier Dorelien, a Haitian residing in Toronto now via Lava. I arranged for him to be on the show. Here is the video: I was really touched watching this video on Facebook. I found out last night that his parents have been located but there are still so many people missing. . He’s coming back next week to talk about Haiti with the governor general. day three…i don’t like the number three, it’s odd

The interesting thing about life is it’s not always rainbows and unicorns, sometimes it’s hard. But, that’s also what makes it great, which is confusing. Sometimes you get yourself into situations and you’re not really sure how you got there so fast and then you realize you don’t like it so much. Life is about working through things. Today, I’m looking at the insides, the skeleton; what makes me they way I am, why do I like and why I do things. If I want this to keep being the best year ever there’s a few kinks I wanna iron out. It’s not surprising to me that I woke up feeling odd today, today is day three. I hate the number three. I try to avoid doing things in three’s when I can. I’m having a blast. Staying at a five star called Hotel Nacional de Cuba Not internetting very much cause it’s so freaking slow and painful. Figure I’m better to save myself the trouble and drink pina colada’s in the sun. Best pina’s here EVER! Old Havana is so neat. I took about 8,000 photos walking around. Holy taxi cabs! I arrived last night at about 8. Took me just as long to fly here as it did to get through traffic to my hotel in Manhattan. I saw the Rockafeller Tree, it’s beauty! I’ve not done any exploring or hunting for style yet, that’s today. There’s a nasty storm on the way and we’re a little worried we wont make it out tomorrow. Stating tucked inside the hotel, insulated concrete forms to keep us safe from the nasty that mother nature is about to bring on. We’ve got a Monday afternoon flight to Cuba that CAN NOT be missed. you really gotta work hard for what you want

“That’s a strange combination” was the response I got from Darius this morning on Twitter after I posted “tired.inspired.” That’s how I feel. I told him I’d explain in a blog post and I’m quite happy to. I’m tired. I’m exhausted but I can’t seem to slow down, take a break, rest, sleep, or simply ‘do nothing’ because I am inspired. I’m excited. I want to work more and harder and pick up speed. The hardest part has now become focusing my time making the most out of each moment. It’s either working towards goals or doing things that inspire me to set new ones. It’s how entrepreneurs & inventors feel, driven. When you bust your ass working hard and you wanna sleep but you stay up all night to put in a few more hours because you love it. That’s how I feel. I love it. Today I am listening to Selah Sue and I did my hair like this girl with dark purple nail polish, red bandana. I checked Twitter just before posting this and Darius had just posted one of my favorite quotes… Words to live by. Have a nice humpitty hump day… * Did you see Marilyn Monroe smoking pot? I’ve spent the last couple days at Caesars Casino. It’s quite a sight. The carpets in casino’s are a real piece of work. You may not have really thought about it or noticed before, but you should. He who designs casino carpets must be out of this world or on some really good drugs. Windsor is a bit of a crummy looking place. It’s not nearly as shiny and bright as Toronto, however, they’ve got a nice bar of you like strippers. Babe alert, saw a few hotties. No photos, I wish. Sorry. Got hassled at the border as I’m using my new Zealand passport. Not fun. US Border Patrol now has my finger prints and nice smiley photo of me. I was shocked and kind of appalled of the huge fist in Detroit. What is the significance of it? PLEASE tell me. Oh thanks Internet…It’s a 24-foot bronze fist, which is poised as if to strike, honors legendary boxer (and Detroit native son) Joe Louis. [Dear God, please, please let me have a better statue that a big fist to remember me by if I ever have have one. Thank you.] The artist is really a comedian I think. I enjoy going through tunnels. I always think about movies where people get trapped in them and it gets all dramatic and stuff. I said “oh, I’d hate to get trapped in here” and then the next day, coming back to Canada, we hit traffic in the tunnel. It wasn’t scary though. The nav system showed us as in the middle of the water, that was a little scary. haha. That’s all for now.

reality tv, internet celebrity, blah blah balls balls

I used to watch The O.C., seems like ages ago when THAT was on. I loved that show. Marissa. Cooper. I got into Laguna Beach next it wasn’t as good but it was. It was realer but then also turned out to be fake-real. I know a bit of the gossip from the internet but I’ve not been watching those kids that much. I did tonight though…I watched The Hills. Knowing what’s happening on the show will only help my job. Here we go… Brody’s Mom, plastic surgery much? I like Jayde, she’s nice, hot and Canadian. Kristin not so much. She did get skinnier from when I used to watch though. When Audrina talks all I hear is ‘wah wah’. She’s kinda like a Jennifer Aniston in the getting-publicly-dumped, ‘i’m annoying’ way. Look me with longish hair! Throwback 2006 to the Moxie Princess Party. There was tons of us, all in crinoline’s, glitter and crowns. Heidi and Spencer are definitely unique, the thought of them having kids gives the tabloids panty soup I’m sure. His appointment at the vasectomy doctor painful but Heidi saying “Hi honey, I snipped by balls off” was almost worth watching the show alone. It’s more drama in 30 minutes than an hour of the Young and the Restless, that’s for sure. It was nominated a Peoples Choice Award, ‘Favorite TV Obsession. I’ll be watching it from now on. Don’t worry. I’ll keep the updates to a minumum 🙂

that was a really great way to start the morning

I checked out to update blog on lunch and the guys beside me were gabbing away about internet, SEO and social media. I tried my hardest not to pipe up and join the conversation. They’re in the back of this video and were wondering what the heck I was doing. haha If they only knew! I say ‘layers’ at the end, hard to hear I know. Everyone was talking loud. I love style but in the summer it’s hot and a dress alone will usually do. Fall, that’s when all the good guys come out. I’ve got a new closet to display them all beautifully and I know they’re all dying to be hung. That’s the plan for the weekend, unpack all my crap and put it in its place. I don’t even mind if it rains, I would love to watch a thunder storm over the lake or stomp in some puddles. Have a great day!
