This Is My Life | Keeping Up With The Joneses

Last week I filmed a little something for my friends at JONES Media. They’re launching a cool thing soon and you’ll find me in it. Side note: Don’t know if you’ve ever seen the movie ‘The Joneses’ but I’ve watched it about 30 times, pretty sure it’s on Netflix. I won’t ruin it by sharing it with you but the concept is something you might find interesting. I love these bright lights on my face, being mic’d up, and the camera rolling. It is so much fun. I’ve always loved being on camera! PUTTING OUT GOOD VIBES FOR MORE AND MORE AND MORE.  Tap video for sound on mobile. ? [vine id=”e3WjUWZxpaV”] Thanks to these awesome peeps, great working with you! Sarah and I go way back. It was SO nice out on Friday. Have you checked the weather for this week? We might break some records! It’s said to be over 15 degrees for 3/5 days. HALLELUJAH!   Let’s hope this is a glimpse into the winter we’re gonna to have, leave the deep freeze for the Arctic! This week I am prepping for TEDx in London, Ontario – I’m speaking! The topic is The Human Condition and my talk is Psychology of Social Media & Narcissism. I’m really excited about this talk and putting the finishing touches on it.  I’ve booked another talk in Alberta for the spring. Winter may be on it’s way but things are heating up over here! Check out this interview shared by my friend Lisa on Hip Urban Girl or my profile on the National Speakers Bureau. This Is My Life | Halloween & Chill

Had a nice Halloween this year. Was a bit more chill than years before, didn’t go out-out on Halloween night. After taking Em & friends trick or treating we stayed in, got takeout and watched Netflix – first time I actually watched Nightmare on Elm Street. On Friday eve we saw a dude in front of us with binoculars, I was puzzled to know who the creeper was. He was peering out the window, stopping and looking through them. It wasn’t until I noticed his shirt I screamed ‘WALDO> I FOUND HIM’. We all had a laugh. Drove up to snap his photo. Good costume mate!    Friday night we stopped by Maison Gothique hosted by Grey Goose Canada at Brasaii. Sean was a very convincing Fidel Castro while I was his pinup sidekick. I like this black hair look. Having long hair is something I’m not used to at all. It’s always in your face and gets caught on your jacket and stuff. We danced the night away at the Tricon Films party after. It was heaps of fun. If you follow me on Snapchat you’ll have seen it already. Good music. heaps of cool peeps, a stripper pole, and great costumes. [Snapchat: casiestewart, add me!] On Saturday I’d been scrolling Pinterest and Facebook looking at costumes all afternoon and threw this look together for trick or treating. Luckily I’ve got a stock pile of wigs and lashes to make anything into  halloween.  Wearing this kind of super long lashes is kinda weird, they block a bit of your vision but look fabulous. Seeing all the little rascals run around for candy was pretty cute. they all got candy wasted shortly after. Save this for next time you need to call in sick! [vine id=”e37QTHOJzUZ”] Hope y’all had a safe and happy halloween. Now…

Cottage Life | Video + Wood, Boats, Dock, A Fall Beard

[youtube id=”uEihYSAjbKA”] This weekend we did a few big jobs involved with closing up the cottage. On thanksgiving morning we took the big boat out of the water (which involved me driving the truck with big trailer attached). Add that to my skills! Once the boat was away we stacked HEAPS of wood. Skills include driving truck w/ massive trailer. pic.twitter.com/WauYIFPu1j — CASiE STEWART (@casiestewart) October 12, 2015 Was pretty exhausted after so Sean and I took a break and I did a festive thanksgiving take on the ‘flower beard’ we did in Calgary this summer. So cute. We stacked HEAPS of wood. It’s was big job but the weather was nice, worked up quite a sweat. Last task of the day was taking out the other small boat and the dock. We put on wetsuits and went for it. I think we were both surprised we did it by ourselves (and my strength!). Sean is strong, my muscles are not as good for heavy lifting. Over the winter I’m planning to work on my editing skills so I can make more + better videos. I would love if you subscribe! Kowing you’re subscribed motivates me to work harder and produce more entertaining things for you. I’ve also signed up for Skillshare, if you use this link you can sign up for a free month. I figure this year I should learn some new skills/perfect old ones instead of just sitting on the couch or Netflix & chilling. 😛

Fashion | Love My Hood + Bench Canada AW15

I was invited into Bench Canada this week to check out the latest collection for fall winter. Was pleasantly surprised to see more fashion vs. athletic wear and less things with a big logo. I’ve been doing things with them since  2011 so this was fun.  The girls in the store know me by now and I have a blast picking out clothes There is in fact a bench there. I think it’s new. And a selfie mirror. HIIIIII! I got all these things. Pants, shirt, sweater. I think they’ll be versatile pieces to mix with dressier items, layers, etc. Glasses are Polette.Phone case is Ted Baker. Necklace is by Shop for Jayu, remember I was in their look book a couple months ago? Oh heyyy, looks like somebody had a make out. Netflix? Chill? Right now if you spend over $150 or more you get 1 of 3 bags. Bench hooked me up with a nice gift card so when I got my total I didn’t feel too shabby shilling out. Gift for BF ✔️ A few years ago I hosted a room in the BHD Gifting Suites on MMVA weekend. It was fun. I hung out all day while celebs & media rolled through receiving gifts and hanging out. This post from 2011 has heaps of people you will recognize – Liz from Much/eTalk, Tyrone, Jesse Giddings, Jay Strut, Lissa Monet, Brock, Carly, Kardinal. Last September I had a shoot with Bench Canada + my fav fall items. Remember this? Maybe we’ll do that again. Wore my new pants yesterday and today was perfect weather to rock my new hoodie on the bike ride. To check out the latest from Bench, pop into your local store or visit bench.ca.  Thanks MacIntyre Communications for inviting me in! I’ll snap some more outfit photos this weekend 🙂 Beautiful morning for a cruise! #ComeTogether…

This is My Life | Aaaaand We’re Back! That’s a Wrap on Summer

Yes, I know ‘summer’ isn’t officially over but if you’ve been away from school or work, it’s pretty much over. The feeling is gone. Back to the routine. New notebooks, new clothes.  ✏️  Maybe a new attitude?!   This time of year is exciting, I love when seasons change. If at any point you feel meh, remember that Halloween and Christmas aren’t far away. The season of Netflix & Chill is right around the corner and it’s a great time to clean up your house, diet, friends, thoughts.  I was thinking I was on my game this morning but am an hour EARLY for something, so I really screwed up. Got Emily ready for school but didn’t get to go w/ Sean to drop her off.  Mixed up timing on something this AM. COOL START TO THE DAY! pic.twitter.com/CEoHaUTKo5 — CASiE STEWART (@casiestewart) September 8, 2015 The drive back from cottage country was bittersweet yesterday. We took the long way to avoid being stuck in traffic. The sun was beating down and the air was warm. Picked up some fruits and veg from a stand along the way.  Saw this sweet ride.  Spent some quality time on the new deck reading the September issue (Vogue of course!) and soaking up the sun. ☀️ We’ll be back a few times before the seasons actually change, the leaves are so beautiful up there.    If you’ve got the blues today, save this on your desktop or phone and daydream of cottage life….    Sending you good vibes for a great week. I know today can be a challenging one after a long beautiful summer. I’ve got a few giveaways coming up including a MASSIVE TIFF package w/ NKPR.  Share a smile with someone today, they just might need it. ? CASIE     …

My Experience with an Uber Driver Yesterday

As you may know from the news, there’s lots of talk about Uber around the world and especially in Toronto. Last week I went to the rally at city hall with my friend to show support for Uber & UberX (non-taxi people doing pickups) with heaps of other riders and drivers.   Yesterday I took a record (for me), 5 UberX cars in one day. Home to 1188 Office 1188 to The Brewers Plate Brewers Plate to Netflix Thowback Party Netflix to Army of Sass dance rehearsal Rehearsal to Home When I ran to dance class from the 4th car I left my wallet in the car. I didn’t realize till after dance. This was after frantically tearing my bag apart and scouring the studio. I sent a DM (private message on Twitter) to @UberCanada and asked if they could help.  It was 10:36pm.    By 10:42, my wallet was found and Uber Canada text me a contact number for my UberX driver who had my little wallet.  I rung him and arranged it to be dropped off at my HOUSE. THIS WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED IN ANOTHER TAXI. Have you ever left something in a taxi? It’s basically a lost cause. I lost a wallet and an iPhone last year and there was no way to track down the driver or car.  With Uber, my stuff was safe and sound with the driver and back to within an hour of realizing it was missing. There’s a bunch of things I really love about Uber (especially UberX) and it’s that drivers are never on the phone, cars are clean, and they’re generally really nice. Also the following list that you will not find with a traditional or Beck taxi. You know who is picking up and when. You’ve got the drivers name, contact. You can see on…

Something Blue Photobooth w/ Becca Lemire

Spring? It’s me Casie, are you there? JUST WANTED TO SAY THANKS FOR SHOWING UP THIS WEEKEND! The other day, actually the one where is SNOWED just over a week ago, Becca had a photobooth at her studio. She’s started a new biz doing photobooths and she’s really great at them. I’ve had her take my photo 100+ times the last few years. Sean was’s AS into dressing up with props as me but I managed to get him in a couple photos and wearing these shades. Macho Man Randy Savage? Nerds. Cute though. Haha. We had been binge watching Netflix ALL day and peeled ourselves off the couch to stop by Pineapple Studios.   I’m SO glad we’re finally getting some warmer weather. Aren’t you? Bring on spring! XO CASIE

My Bloggy Lies Over the Ocean

Oh hey, guess who? It’s me your friend from across the internet. Working away at the computer most the day. Monday is my ‘don’t leave the house and write as much as you can’ day. Spend a bunch of time sitting on the couch with my Macbook yesterday but fell into scrolling things on the phone, deep into a Netflix binge and did nothing from my To Do list. I find the weekends are really important for me to chill out. I used to blog every single day and it was really draining. Now, I aim for 5 posts per week and if I feel inspired to write a few more, good for me. The more documenting the better. Today when I did leave the house I was at Lit Espresso bar on Roncy and the staff were trying to name one of the girl’s blog. A staffer guy said ‘My Bloggy Lies Over the Ocean’ and I thought it was so funny, got totally distracted paying for my sweet treat. Title today inspired by that guy, good one buddy! These are my latest glasses from Polette Eyewear in France. I really love them, they sit high on the face and the thin frame is different than any other glasses I have. L’usine à lunettes by polette offers highly-competitive prices, no compromise on the quality. Frames from $9.99 to $49.99 and lenses from $9.99 to $89.99. I love that they have HEAPS of different selections. They’ve just launched E-Pollette, lenses that protect your eyes from screens. SO SMART. Ordering those next. Spring Style Stories + Looks from #PFW

Now that spring is around the corner you can count on me mention it almost once a day. I can’t wait. A little warm up in the weather and there’s smiles all around. Love this Michael Kors skirt for Spring 2015.   I’ve been creating a story on the Selfish app  Storia App with a few of my fav things from fashion weeks, magazines, and around the web. Check it out here. Cim Cim has joined and added a few beauties, I’d love you to join too. I’ve been building a few other stories including Lights, Camera, ACTION!,  #NailGame, Netflix Addict, and Travel Adventures. I’m about ready to start up a Cottage Life story! Only a couple weeks till spring is fully here! 🙂 Did you hear that Zoolander 2 is on it’s way? Here’s a look at what went down during the Valentino show at Paris fashion week today. Here’s a few of my fav shows from the past week in Paris. Chanel always has a great show, brings something different to the traditional runway show. These gold pants tho. Love. <3 CASIE

Montreal | Hi-Speed Blogging in the Sunshine at 90MPH

This week was a busy one and I’m looking forward to a nice sleep at the Fairmont Montreal tonight. We’re on the train heading to Montreal for Nuit Blanche and thanks to Montreal Tourism. Remember that contest I entered and a bunch of you guys helped me fill the train? I didn’t win the contest but they invited me to come along for the ride and experience Nuit Blanche Montreal. Bae working away, looking all cute. Earlier this week I was working form the new 1188 Films office and dressed the place up with some spring flowers.  There’s 8 days until daylight savings, if you;re counting down like me. This is the before face of going through the worst pain I have felt in my entire life. I’ve been having high blood pressure along with those chest pains I mentioned so I’m unable to take my old contraceptive and got a IUD. I wasn’t expecting it to be so painful and felt nauseous after, it was brutal. Good thing it’s a five year plan. I’m thankful my doc was so lovely and took great care. Lucky for me, House of Cards is BACk so we binged a couple episodes last night while I was in recovery. Much better today and back to my regular bouncy self. Claire Underwood, I love you. Maybe I should keep short hair? This internal ‘cut it or grow it’ battle never ends. We’re on the train for 4 hours, currently going aboout 90MPH. I’m glad to have NextIssue and will be reading magazines once I hit publish. I’ve been reading magazines I never used to buy since I’ve got them all at my fingertips now (Nylon, More, Condé Nast Traveller, Dwell). This cover of Vanity Fair is awkward, no? Loving the images in Condé Nast Traveller. Makes me want to just…

One of The Great Things About Monday Is…

I know that Monday feeling, back to work, especially in -40 with windchill weather can be a real downer. BUT one of the great things about Monday is it’s the start of a new week and you never know what the next 5 days will bring. I always find myself looking at the world/into my computer screen with wonder and excitement. Not knowing what emails about coming your way, who’s been creeping your socils profiles, what the world has in store for you. So, keep your head up, put a smile on your face, and greet the world with s sense of wonder and opportunity will come your way. his weekend I recieved a link to a short film by kate Yorks that I was a PA on about 2 years ago. It’s now online! It’s been shows at a few film festivals in North America. You can watch below. Great job 1188 (Sean’s company) and congrats Kate! There’s No Need For Cable, LONG LIVE INTERNET TV!

OK, so yesterday we got cable and I’m pretty excited that I can PVR Young and The Restless. (Yes I still watch it. If you follow me on Twitter you’ll know I have conversations about the show with a particular group every now and then! I’m homesick, watching yesterday’s show right now actually.) Getting cable seemed SO exciting but it turned out to be disappointing. The 200 channels we were given were 200 of the crappiest most basic channels! Yes, HD is nice but we already had a few good channels with a $30 HD antenna. We could watch Jeopardy, news, and the other shows I like including NCIS, CSI, Y&R. However, the most important thing here is, ALL THE SHOWS I LOVE ARE ON THE INTERNET. Internet TV is where it’s at! The only reason we took the package deal was that it made Internet cheaper and faster. Clearly the most important thing to us. Can’t wait to binge House of Cards on the 27th. Last night my bf said “Let’s watch something on Netflix, and pretend we never had cable. It was better that way.” If only we had a hdmi converter back then, as there would have been a lot more shows we could have watched. Now that we consume a lot of TV shows and films online, using something like an HDMI converter does come in handy. The cable guy also switched the HDMI cable for the Apple TV so we had to reconnect it. THANKS! Oh, and they also gave us a landline (look it up) with a new (gasp) 647 number. We don’t even own phones to plugin to it. Who needs a landline? It was 10+ years when I had one and I lived with my Mum back them. So, I profess and…

All The Girly Things Post on a Sunny Friday

First things first, HAPPY FRIDAY! Started my day with some work and an amazing croissant from Cafe Neon in my hood.  I’m all out of Tassimo so ventures out into the cold sunshine to treat myself.  I really love working from home and for myself. It’s been about six months and I’ve got myself a schedule. I can’t wait till summer when my schedule means staying up at the cottage during the week here and there and morning coffee on the dock after kayaking. I’ve started a new subscription with NextIssue, the Netflix of magazines and I love it. I spend so much time on my phone, and love magazines, but buying heaps and carrying them around is not practical for me. They’ve given me a code for you to get a 60 day trial (double the regular offer), visit this link and use 60free to sign up. Mum joined me at The Spoke Club for the press preview of Behind The Red Carpet film. Doesn’t she look amazing? Thanks for coming Mum! Love you. The film is on CBC’s doc channel 9pm, Feb. 23rd. I’M A JUNIOR MOVIE STAR! Ok, let’s not get carried away here. You CAN see all my film/tv stuff on IMDB tho. Let’s hope for more this year. I’m working on a few things and hope they pan out. You might be seeing even more of my face, if you can believe it. Are you on Snapchat? ADD ME OMG RIGHT NOW. You know I love short videos and this is your behind the scenes look at even more of my life and silliness and things I do in the day. You’ll not regret it. You’ll find me at: CASIESTEWART. Stopped into The Loft Toronto for a little snip to clean up my hair before the shoot this weekend.…
