#pumasocial: march 10, 2011 @Burroughes #toronto

Last week Toronto was host to the first PUMA Social Club in Canada at the Burroughes Building on Queen Street. It was THE place to be. So many cool peeps and hot babes. Check out this rad vid produced by 1188 Films for Puma with a blonde you will recognize. I love this campaign, I feel it really goes along with my lifestyle. I celebrate more victories at the bar than I do at the gym. See a couple more familiar faces in the vid? A bunch you have seen here over the years if you look real close. Thing is, PUMA pioneers ‘Sportlifestyle’ and has built a their brand on FUN.  I thnk I’m kinda like that too. Hey look, my sis riding a giant moose w/ R’Bull. The whole top floor of the Burroughs was full of people playing games like checkers, operation, ping pong, table hockey, air hockey. Lotsa late night revelry, live bands and DJs. Hellooooo again friend. This track is for ma boy Nate Dogg who passed away last night at 41 to a stroke. REGULATE! After-hour athletes are babes. I had a couple pose with me for fun. For more info about the campaign in Canada or the world see the press release here. This is Sean the producer telling me I am AWESOME. Thanks for the gig. Love you. And remember, some marathons end At 6am. One more thing, could you please take one second to vote for Shawn Hawaii in the BMW contest? No email, no signup just vote. It will mean the world to him.  I’d do it for you! VOTE here NOW. P.S

social media week has started and i am social me.

Heard some people from Roots Canada talk about social media this morning. It was a great talk for retailers or brands who are just getting into social media. Keri & I didn’t stay too long. I get antsy and have a hard time listening to a topic when I have so much to say about it. Tonight it’s a different story, I get to have a say. I’m in a debate on brands & social media at the Mill Street Brewery. The event is hosted by Wikibrands a book written by my friend Sean Moffit and Mike Dover about “Reinventing Your Company in a Customer-Driven Marketplace”. They like Wordles just like me. Who knew social media would take over in all kinds of industries around the world? It’s amazing.  I talking about love brands, social media & the people behind them. This is the second year of Social Media Week & you can see the schedule for Toronto here. This week for me is full of events & people talking about something I love, heaps of familiar faces and lots of new people. Keri & I cruised the downtown underground this afternoon and rode the streetcar. I got a My Little Pony in my Happy Meal at McDonalds too. I’ve been eating way less maccas BTW 🙂 Did you know Toronto’s streetcar system is one of the few in North America still operating along street-running tracks and has been operating since the mid-19th century. We are a cool city. AND, did you know that VW commercial I posted yesterday from the Super Bowl. Guess who the little kid is? Victoria & JT’s son Reed from the Young & the Restless.  You know how much I love that show. What a cute kid. Here’s a snip-it: Ok, clock is ticking, time…

update: how many commercials during the #superbowl will have #socialmedia on screen?

Here are some of the commercial gettin’ hype for today’s game on Mashable. I’m off to fly around the city in a helicopter before planting myself on a couch/at a bar to watch the commercials & halftime show for today’s game. Rumor has it Go Daddy (my host!) is bringing some sexy. Doritos always have something creative. I reckon Coors Lite or Bud Lite will have something funny. This was JUST released a couple hours ago. Ha! Hate when this happens…. guess we’ll find out WHAT happened. This one surely will NOT make it to Canada. Hate that we get stuffed on the good ads. Where can Canada peeps watch the US version of the big ‘Bowl? How many commercials during the super bowl will have social media accounts on screen? As a percentage. Includes logo (twitter/facebook), audio or links. Take your bets. Winner wins something awesome. 😛

Knock, knock? Are you there? Wake up!

Here is a note for you my friends, a quote from one of my fav’s below. I hope you find love in simple things, inspiration in everything and that you are wearing a smile upon your face. Have an awesome day. xo “This is what you shall do: love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants… have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, reexamine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body.” Walt Whitman

You ready for takeoff? Show was at Queen West hipster hot spot Parts & Labour. Nice choice. Show was rad. Perfect Virgin America mood lighting. We were chatting this babe in the bathroom about her dress and little did we know that she was a band member. Guy with hood is a babe too. Lady Gaga telephone hat & costume was so well made. Hat was quite heavy. Deff needs long hair, looks silly on me. You know this fine fox, Courtney Love otherwise known as Raymi the Minx. This fine Queen & ruler of Egypt is my sister Jenie. LOVE YOU. Total babes. BTW food at P&L is great. Meat table + cheese FTW. Kate Killet is a kyooooote kitteh. Say hello to Kate from Virgin America and her red wig. Totes on brand 😉 Great to see the VX peeps. They are all so cool, honestly, I am so happy to have met them and totally stoked for the next year of awesomeness. Look out Toronto. Bathrooms at P&L have the weirdest mirrors. So hard to really get a good look at your outfit. Best costume of the night, Adam & Eve. Scariest costume of the night, this guy. AAAAAAAAAAHH. Liked these guys, bloody butchers with muscles. Mmmm. Enjoyed these too. Heh heh got your nose! BTW my PROVOCATEUR biz cards are realy and should be arriving soon. Oh yeah. “Fool! Sounds of Social Media: Noise or Sweet Music?

Like the sounds of this? It’s our panel submission for SWSX Interactive 2010. The other member of my panel are: @unmarketing, @thatericalper and @Kathy_Valentine. You can vote for our panel here or by clicking the little picture on the sidebar. Here goes… For decades, the music industry has been about gatekeepers and untouchable “s tars”. Today, everything is about connecting with each other and the smart few in music have realised that and embraced it. With representation from all avenues of the industry: Media, labels, management and artists, this panel will explore the current landscape of social media in music, and where they see it.

Wakestock Recap in Photos – Part 3

Sunday we packed up for the last day of our adventure and said bye to Jonathan. HUGE thank you to him & Wakestock Canada for hooking up the whole party thing for us. We had a blast. THANK YOU!! Made a pit stop for outfit changes. Needed to be more suited for the weather. Caught some actual Wakeboarding. The Virgin bus wasn’t as bangin’ on Day 2. BTW did you vote for me in the Virgin contest? These boys all look they love Hollister. Weather was not nearly as nice Day 2 and it rained a bit here and there. This is where the Virgin Back Stage tent was most special. These babes are Rebel Emergency. They were handsome and sweet. Music was pretty good too. They opened for Snoop Dog the night before. There was no way I was doing the Sprite rope jump. Get my hair wet & go in the freezing water? Aaah. Khaleed was less afraid of getting his hair wet and totally went for it. Awesomerrrrrrrrrr! That pretty much sums up our weekend. It was my first time at Wakestock and it was a blast.  I’ll do it again next year for sure. For more pix check out Part 1 and Part 2 or search Wakestock on my blog. You can find the others girsl blogs at Lauren Out Loud, Raymi the Minx & Carly-Anne. Thanks for following our Wakestock adventure. I’m looking forward to the Bloundetourage’s next quest! I’m at Bud Camp Aug 20th fore the weekend. Look out! BYEEEEEEEE!
