Friday night’s #genyto #Canlit was awesome. Rannie took all these great shots. I was on video recording all night. Rannie & Renee, loves! Coleman at the boozy table. Got to #genyto #canlit about 9er. Hi from some of the babes! Drank, danced, chatrouletted party style, took some vids, the usual stuff. BTW, chat roulette is REALLY fun at parties. It’ll catch on for that reason I think. Try it next time and tell me about it. Was very successfully not hungover. Looking back though all the video’s, I’m kinda surprised. Met a bunch of internet Tweeps and blog readers IRL which is always exciting. I have about 50 video’s. Most of them are for a little movie project that I was planning to start at sundown but I was fucking around with an Ikea bed that I am now going to return. Soooofuuuuhhhhkingpisssssssedoffaboutit. So beauty out today. Bunch of Blog Girls & Sean Ward are coming over for a hang.Yahooots.

social media school of thought. process.

I’ve shared my internet/social media skills with a bunch of people over the last year but now it’s  becoming more official. I recently signed up for FreshBooks online billing cause I’m gonna be invoicing for teaching them skillz in 2010! Social media has become such a  valuable tool and heaps of friends who never really understood what I was doing, are now asking for my help.  I’ve got a student passing through my school tomorrow night.  Makes me feel proud of myself; I stuck at something I was interested in, despite being the only one I knew in it at times and now built my world around it. Lesson: Make a path leave a trail.

I wish I never got tired. I could soak up stuff around the internet for hours and hours. I’m addicted to learning, reading, pretty things and blogging. I read a great article on ReadWriteWeb – 10 ways social media will change in 2010. I love this stuff. The ability to connect everyone around the world to information and each so fast really blows my mind. good ones: online-offline integration, women rule The IOC been getting pissed about people taking photos of stuff. We should totally have heaps of sourced stuff for the Olympics. Canada is SO ONLINE and it all starts in 39 days. I wanna feel like I’m there, the Vancouver Project is trying to make sure we can all be there. I’m back to using disqus comments, shall you help me test them? That wold be nice. I’ve spent the last couple days at Caesars Casino. It’s quite a sight. The carpets in casino’s are a real piece of work. You may not have really thought about it or noticed before, but you should.  He who designs casino carpets must be out of this world or on some really good drugs. Windsor is a bit of a crummy looking place. It’s not nearly as shiny and bright as Toronto, however, they’ve got a nice bar of you like strippers. Babe alert, saw a few hotties. No photos, I wish. Sorry. Got hassled at the border as I’m using my new Zealand passport. Not fun. US Border Patrol now has my finger prints and nice smiley photo of me. I was shocked and kind of appalled of the huge fist in Detroit. What is the significance of it? PLEASE tell me. Oh thanks Internet…It’s a 24-foot bronze fist, which is poised as if to strike, honors legendary boxer (and Detroit native son) Joe Louis. [Dear God, please, please let me have a better statue that a big fist to remember me by if I ever have have one. Thank you.] The artist is really a comedian I think. I enjoy going  through tunnels. I always think about movies where people get trapped in them and it gets all dramatic and stuff. I said “oh, I’d hate to get trapped in here” and then the next day, coming back to Canada, we hit traffic in the tunnel. It wasn’t scary though. The nav system showed us as in the middle of the water, that was a little scary. haha. That’s all for now.

I wake up. Twist and scream. I think, why me? Sometimes live throws you curve balls. You can catch it. Pain, I can handle it. X-ray day today. Most people don’t like the doctor but it helps when he’s young and handsome like mine. I’m grateful for the friends/family who have been helping me. I’m thankful for Mum. I rung her so upset this morning and she saved the day. She made me feel better. Then I remembered it’s her birthday. I felt horrible. Finally did some laundry. I got flowers last night from the house where I fell. They’re beautiful. Getting read to go now. I can do this. It’s gonna be ok. Positive thinking. I just read over your Billie Jean King quote about achieving your dreams, Mum.  The one in the frame. Thank you. I love you.

She’s such little darling that Sabrina, after her hair was done she put on a nice dress and went for a stroll.She picked me up a little notebook that reminded her of the Twitter bird, funky pen and a new eyeliner. Made the day even brighter. Early in the day yesterday I was thinking, I’d like to go to a party. Like a good ol’ house party with a BBQ, patio, good music and all the shit. Well, be careful what you wish for, thoughts become things…………… Some of Beans’ friends from uni were having a shindig. There was a brand new deck and was “time to stomp on it” as I was told. Food was cooked on the new BBQ and was delish. THANKS GUYS! Met a cute girl with the same name. Once in a while I meet a boy Casey or a  dog. Quite rare I reckon. How many do you know? My blogging friend Muireann Carey-Campbell is heading back to England and having her send off tonight at Czehoski. After that it’s off to the Labour Day Rock Out Party at Tattoo. If you’re around come! LONG WEEKEND WOOT!

Sprung out of bed and yawned out loud, the sun was on my face. Slugged to the kitchen, to the loo, not yet in a race. My mind, it slipped me…such good sleep! I saw the clock, I was in SHOCK… I was nearly late! For brunch today, I was graced with the lovely presence of British, Bangs and a Bun writer Muireann Carey-Campbell. I pulled up to see her locking her bike up in a cute blue dress, bangs and a bun and all. It’s one of the hottest days so far, I wore the Edie dress.  Gah, I’d rather bike in my bathing suit. We had some damn good laughs over brekky. Looking forward to reading about he life in NY and Japan. I’m waiting for friends to come over and go swimming. The air is like a thick brick cloud and it sticks to you when you walk through it. This video has been circulating on Twitter today and I found it to be quite interesting.

some kind of broken social scene

 Last night the Harbourfront Centre was a buzz with fans of Broken Social Scene. I was looking forward to it and it was music to my ears. It was so crowded that it in itself, was a broken social scene. Cool crowd though, mix of hipsters, families, public drunken-ness and the smell of pot in the air. I love Toronto.   The best thing about it was that the whole BSS crew was on stage  including Feist, Amy Millan, Emily Haines and the boys. I didn’t bother to climb through the crowd but has Ryan has some closer photos and this one was my favorite. Look at Emily, so cute. I made an amazing emo video walking through the crowd as Metric was on and Emily was singing Gimme Sympathy. For some reason, it got deleted when I added it to my computer. So sad, I can feel it in my bones.  It was beautiful and the sun was setting.  Ran into lots of people but the one who made me most happy is Levey. The boy’s been in Korea for ages and I’ve not seen him in at least a year. Those are the best run-ins. The long-time-no-see-love-you-miss-your-guts kind. It was a really pretty night.
