Who could hang a name on you? When you change with every new day.

Hello, hope the day is treating you well. Huge haul at The Sweet Potato last night. I made a nice healthy dinner and he played records. I also made kale chips. Who am I?! If this is growing up, I really like it. Feels good to have quiet nights at home after being on the go for the last 5 years at every event in the city. I’m much pickier about the things I go to these days. The sky in Toronto was really beautiful last night. Had a drink and snack at The Drake hotel with a former colleague from MTV. My how times change! It’s always nice to catch up with old friends. If they’ve been reading my blog, we seem to always pick up right where we left off. Pretty stoked to go to Boston next weekend. Crazy thing, the people from CityPASS contacted me after I mentioned them in the CAA post last week about travelling to NY & LA. The power of THE INTERNET is truly amazing! Looking forward to touring around the city and showing Sean all my fav spots. We’ll start with Harvard, MIT, and the Boston Common. Hopefully we have spring weather by then! My friend and babe Anna Cyzon just released a new music vid for her song ‘Into the Sun’. I missed the launch event last week and planned to tell you all about it. We’ve always bonded over our blondeness and that we both used to work at MTV. Anna Cyzon ‘Into the Sun’ launch, Spoke Club The first part of the video is a little dark for Monday morning but song is good! ‘Into the Sun’ reminds me of a poem I wrote in 2004 when I lived in Australia. It’s one of my favs. As the waves crashed on the shore, The wind washed them away. And as I walked along the sand, I felt I could not stray. It’s freezing guys. Too cold for fashion week! WTF is up with the snow? This is what backstage in hair & makeup looks like. I got a mega VIP experience last night and had my hair & makeup done by the lovely Lucky. We used to work at MuchMuaic/MTV years ago. Today is my three month anniversary at Community.

Today is my three month anniversary at Community.

Took an iPhoto almost every day since September 14, 2012. I love working here. It blows my mind to see how my life has changed from starting this blog to this job. I feel like I’m just getting started.  Look out world here I come. Making dentist appointment next week!  Ha 🙂 HAPPY FRIDAY OMG! We have our FINAL Santa Baby show tonight at The Mod Club. Doors 9pm. Get there early. This is the hottest damn show this holiday season. You do not want to miss it. My Dad and his fiance are coming!  I’m heading to our office holiday party after the show. These are some of my Pins from this week. Pinterest has become part of my daily routine. I love style so much and I’ve been pinning everything I want from Nasty Gal. I want everything. It’s torture. Their ads stalk me on many every single website and their email makes me drool. They’re hip on social and have a beauty of a blog with new lookbooks all the time.   Today Catherine posted an interview with Michael Rubenfeld, Artistic Producer of the SummerWorks theatre festival. Her and I chatted at the VIP Soiree last month and she included me in her article (see below). Title is advice from Mum. She said that to me a few years ago when I was trying to sort out where I wanted to go with my life. I always thought I wanted to work in fashion, then I did. After that, I thought wearing a suit, working long hours and being part of the downtown financial district was my dream. I stayed in that job as an IT recruiter having meetings at 8am (yeah omg, it was hell) and 2pm every single day. I hated it so much (job not the people!). One day my boss said “Casie, it doesn’t seem like you are having fun?” I replied “No, I’m not having fun at all. I badly want to quit but I need two weeks pay”. I left at the end of that very day, cheque on the way and started a job at Toronto’s most famous Kiwi restaurant shortly after. I knew the owner (HI MARTIN) and that because of my Kiwi citizenship I had a bloody good chance of getting hired. Working in the bar gave me the freedom (and same money TBH) to do what I wanted with my time. It was stress free and I loved chatting to the regulars and new customers. I worked at Hemingways for a few months and met some really rad people, it was like a family there. One of my recruiter friends sent me on an interview and moved into a job in IT. I worked for an online casino (it was cool, we had catered lunches) for two years and despite almost getting fired for doing it, worked on my blog A LOT.
