Tech | Social Media Day -Toronto is one of most most social in the world.

I’d like to think I had something to do with that. I kid, I kid. We’re SO online and our  Social media Day meetup is SO BIG that Mashable wrote about us today. We Toronto peeps know how to have fun. Get social baby. Props to Michael Nus & Dan Levy for putting this together. Last year I spoke about running the social media for MuchMusic & MTV Canada & this year I’m speaking about building a personal brand. Over 350 people are attending so it’s gonna, kinda a big deal. Wish Mum was here to see me in action. I’m sure someone will have on video. Last year I was JUST getting into speaking and has my hands in my pockets the whole time. Won’t do that again. What am I going to wear? I should really have planned this out. Hope to meet some new peeps & will for sure see a bunch of familiar faces. Looking forward to it. If you have any questions, ask away! Reach out & touch me. So ncie in the park today. Spent heaps of time here as a kid, highschool too. Fed the ducks. Man they were hungry. Some came right up on the rocks scared the jeepers outta me. Jeepers creepers. Met this guy. Don’t get too close. He bites. Rarrrrrrrrr! Chantelle and I have been coming here together for a really long time. No need to know actually how long, ages. Hi to Chantelle’s Mum [waves at computer]! They did Zumba yesterday. So cute. This wall faces a skatepark, used to be a swimming pool. Heaps of kids skatin’. Went on a long path, Wonderland Walk. Was lovely except I rekcon I got a few mozzy bites. See that butterfly. Flutter by, so pretty. Title is from Alice in Wonderland in case you didn’t know. Feel like a kid playing in the park so nice. Someone lost their balloons. Not me! Camera if you’re curious is Olympus XZ-1. It’s awesome & best cam I’ve used yet. Engadget review about it here. Garden time.

You know I love Gaga. I’ve told you a bunch of times before. Remember the MMVAs last year? Kingi from Peach Berserk made me a custom dress with all the big performers on it: Bieber, Katy, Drake, Miley.  I was excited. I worked with some really great people at Much & MTV last year, the MMVA experience is very memorable. My job was Social Media Queen and it was super fun to say the least.  Blog post from MMVA Day 2010 is here. I’ve got a couple things planned for MMVA weekend this year. One is a party w/ Gaga’s DJ, Lady Starlight. 🙂 Starlight will be rocking The Velvet Underground (510 Queen St West) after the MMVA’s June 19 in Toronto. Doors open at 11. I have a list. Do you want to be on it?

Guys & gals, get ready. Came across this last night via Kevin Naulls, handsome Assoc. Editor of TorontoLife.com and one of the beards in the feature. Thank you Hudson Bay for this. Oh, how I LOVE BEARDS. Video at the end. Enjoy! Recognized this handsome one, Ron Ruiz from MuchMTV. We worked together last year to bring MTV Fora to life. Stellar beard Kevin. His blog is the HOME of bearded. I lurk there often. Throwback to us last year @ Greta SS11. These few are cute too… He is thinking, “me & my beard are going to _________.” Don’t even get me started on this one, Jano. When I first met his stache a few months back, I was in awe. Never had I seen such a beaut sculpture on a young giants face. Worked with this cute on at MuchMTV too, Nick Fox(y). This one is new to me. He has a mini beard. Attended a Spring shopping party at Harry Rosen the other night. There was a band, live radio broadcast & free drinks. Julio and I had a good chuckle. I like to have fun at these fashioney things y’know. Jacket: Covet from Bicyclette, Tights: Adrian Hailwood, NZ, Bag: Nella Bella, Dress: American Apparel, Giggles: Julio These pix are from Fashion Nights (click to see their coverage of the event). These guys are The Darcy’s and they were playing live. Rumor has it Harry Rosen plans to have more ‘Underground Lounge’ events. I approve of this rumor and fully support. Aren’t they cute? Ok my pix now. I was daydreaming about an army of Casie-Bots like this… I took my very own dream boat and we shopped denim. Option numero uno: Option deux was a hit with me, the sales guy and the ladies who walked by saying “hot”. Thanks Michael Rozenwald for your help. Sold. Shopping parties are fun. Nice to see everyone & nice clothes. One of the things I did not like was this scissor wall. Freaked me right out. One of the things I did like was this D&G ‘Cry Baby’ Johnny Depp tee. As seen on Whiz Kalifa here. (Scissors, scissor hands Johnny, connection there?) Save yourself the ≈$200 price tag & to Bang-On & make one yourself. DIY FTW!

Rememeber Foursquare Day last year? Yes you do. It was 4/16, I worked at MuchMTV. I printed a big 4sq badge on a tshirt and scooted over to the Loose Moose for the party. I’d been there a few times so when I checked in, I TOOK THE MAYORSHIP. Everyone cheered as I walked to the table then Molson gave me a bucket of beers. It was an epic winning of mayorship & nerd pride. * that gun necklace got me hardcore hassled by border patrol at YYZ last summer! This year’s #4SQDAY meetup in Toronto is at The Firkin @ 461 King Street. For all the info on the Toronto meetup check the FB page. I chatted Karly (@_topshelf), one of the organizers yesterday and there are HEAPS of sponsors, free beer for an hour and BUTTONS like this. I picked up a few buttons yesterday because I will be attending the 4sq Day meetup in Boston at the Boston Common. Rumours floating the interwebs  Foursquare just may have a special badge for those attending the worldwide festivities. Really looking forward to relaxing with my friends & escaping the city.  Also stoked to fly with Porter again!
