Anyone from Twitter YOU would like to meet?

Blogged before bed last night because I had to get up early and go to the office. Ok, I didn’t HAVE to go to an office but I decided to get my booty to Edelman’s Toronto office to meet David Armano their Global EVP from Chicago. I’ve been following @armano on Twitter for YEARS. Sometimes I get people saying they’ve followed me for ages and they’re excited when WE meet, this is one of those people for ME. the power of a post: social media with love I wrote a blog post about him on January 6, 2009 when I WITNESSED him raise money to help a friend who had fallen into an unfortunate situation. It was heart touching to watch as the donation meter on his blog post “Please help Daniella’s Family” went up and up. As I followed along, they raised $12K in 24HR! He’s a rad guy and today we get to meet in person. Today is going to be awesome 🙂 Make the most of it, you’re younger today than you will be again! James Dean reading poetry, 1955

Play Time: Sex, Religion & Other Hang-Ups

Attention everyone! James Gangl is on the hunt of a lady friend! He’s searching for his boo and it could be you! Let me explain…   Last night I was lucky enough to go to the press opening of Sex, Religion & Other Hang-Ups at  Theatre Passe Muraille. It’s a one-man-show in which James Gangl tells the story of how his horn-dog ways conflicted with his intense Catholic upbringing. I don’t want to give to much away because YOU HAVE TO GO SEE IT! Really you guys. It’s pretty great. I don’t even usually dig solo-shows but this? LOVED it! Is it raunchy? Just enough. Hilarious? Most definitely. Does he sell copies of his real journal filled with love-struck bad poetry after the show? You bet. I have a copy. You simply must check it out – unless you don’t like laughter, in which case what’s wrong with you?! Sex, Religion & Other Hang-Ups is playing at Theatre Passe Muraille until October 22nd so get your tickets now! And if you’re a single lady tickets are only $15! What a deal! Laaaaaaaaadiessss! Enjoy! xo Kate

what do you love? ♥

I love discovering new things. Last month Google rolled out www.wdyl.com and I just found out about it from Techcrunch. It’s hard to keep up on all the Google gossip! With all the talk about Google+ lately, I see how it slipped by most peoples radar. I checked it out last night & found an interesting discovery… Here we go: Went to the site, searched something I love (uh, myself! You would search yourself too right?). Found a few things, including explore “casie stewart” in 3D with Google Sketchup. You can create anything 3D there, haven’t tried it yet.  Youtube channel and gmail came up along with searches in blogs, photos, and books. Books? I recognize that book. That’s my book. I wrote when I was 14 with Holly Heiblinger, it’s called JEANS. Published Canadian Author, oh yeah. I’ve never seen it online. I mean, I never reallllllly looked but there she is right in Google Books and the library archives. I was mega involved with writing and my community at that age. Our book is categorized in Canadian poetry (English) 20th century, Literary Collections / Canadian, Children’s Literature & Teenagers’ writings, Canadian (English). It’s no longer in print so don’t try to order one! I’ve only got a couple draft copies. Reckon Mum might have some in the basement. I used to write heaps. Well, I still write lots but more diary than poetry. One say I will escape to a far away place and get all the notes from the notebooks into digital form. Maybe with my new computer? Omg, I ‘m getting a new computer today. Downloaded a poetry magnet app for iPad called Verses Poetry. I like to play on/with words. Need to get more words unlocked though, running slim on options. Spent lots of time with Andy (my iPad) this weekend. Maybe deep down I…

Be creative. Be yourself. Have fun. Get off the computer.

Saw this on O’Nizzle’s blog today and I dig it. Think you will too. What do you do to be creative? I like to let my mind wander. I like long walks by myself. I like to play outside. I love my sketchbook. I like to draw with pastels. I cut up old clothes and make new ones. I call old friends. Classical music. Reminding myself I can do anything. Cleaning my closet. Coffee. Painting. Dancing with arms over head. Writing is especially fun for me. I like poetry, reading, writing mostly. Photography & close up shots on the camera. Old music & fun memories. I like watching Annie Hall or Dead Poets Society. I enjoy sitting by the lake. Running in the rain. Friends are good too. I like to let my mind wander. I guess you could say I’m Borderline Artistic.

we are all born superstars

Looking at my own house from the tarmac at Porter. It took me <15min to walk there, in heels. Who WALKS to the airport? You bet your ass I felt damn cool strollin’ rollin’ in that door. Right before I boarded the plane something awesome happened, I got my first ever FULL PATDOWN in PUBLIC! It was done by a hot babe and we were giggling. I told her I was gonna blog about it. I had the hugest smile on my face the whole time. They really pat you down all over if ya know what I mean 😉 Toronto Island is quite pretty, will look even nicer once the trees get all greened up. I really notice a differnece between my old camera (Cannon Elph) and the new camera (Olympus XZ-1) when taking shots from the air. New is MUCH clearer. Started reading the poetry book sent to me by Vanessa Grillone, My Pen My Voice. I’m thinking I really should re-issue my poetry book. I wrote some pretty aweosme stuff when I was young. Thanks for the book Vanessa. Everytime I travel I still can’t believe they let me use this passport photo. Red lipstick & a big bow, in my hair. Who the hell am I? haha. I’m Casie Stewart, that’s who. One of the great(est) things about flying Porter are the snacks & free drinks. They have these great sandwiches on really nice bread w/ brie and of course Steamwhistle. * tights were sent to me from SECRET. What up Beantown! Here I come. Love this massive Nella-Bella bag for travel. It fits all my gadgets & important things – two Olympus cameras, ipad, netbook, toiletries, makeup, a cardigan & all my tech accessories. Man, security had a FIELD DAY with all my gadgets (not).…

music: first time at @TheDakotaTavern. yeah, really.

I don’t go to music stuff that much. Last night I went to the Dakota Tavern, do people call it Dakota Tav? Cause they do that down under and it seems cooler. [ Retracts hipster comment.] I love live music and crowds and spinning around on the dance floor or (even better) in the grass. I reckon I start going to more. So fun. Music was fun. Atmostphere & company funner. Sometimes I really wanna be in a band. Shiny disco balls. BE NICE OR LEAVE. Be nice, it’s so much fun. I used to live near this place on Dundas, by the 7-11. I was reminded of  The Red Wheelbarrow. so much depends upon a red wheel barrow glazed with rain water beside the white chickens. We had a chuckle that this kinda looks fun, not like “DYING” more like pushing. Time for a new diagram. This one is funny. I love poems. I have a passion for publishing poetry and allitertation. They were from the book of Gord. I can hear seagulls outside. Wasn’t that storm today wonderful, more than. I am trying to eat breakfast more. I hear that’s what healthy people do and I wanna be one. The colours match;  soft pink, orange, pretty. Glowing.

these things shoot out from in my head, my ideas run like flow

True to my goal, I’ve been going through my old hard drives and digging up heaps of files containing essays, poerty, prose and more. Makes me feel really excited. I love writing and I’m doing more, well, more than just ‘blogging’ which has kinda taken over my time. I’ve been telling myself I want to publish another book for way too long now and I am derermined to do it. That’s why I’m telling YOU. You can be part of it by asking, reminding me, making me think about it. It’s going to be a second anthology of poetry, prose & short stories. All pieces I’ve wrtten from the last 10 years. There will be some photos and it will be nice looking. My goal is to do it because I don’t want life to pass by with all this written work locked in digtal form within a metal box. I want to have them bound together in my hand. It would be a shame if they never got to feel your eyes and touch your heart, they like the attention. The title of this post is this one: I don’t know, I don’t know? My ideas run like flow! Why these things come out my head? These things for long have been dead. The water ran so quickly then, And to life they come once again!

total eclipse of the moon, moon, moon! bonnie tyler/katy perry #remix

Ok I just made up that remix… Tonight, for the first time in about almost 400 years we’ll get to see a lunar eclipse (think seriously how long that is? whoa mang). Listening to the news now and Global says Canada is the best place to see it. Starts for Eastern Canada about 1:45 am. The moon will turn redish which will be really really neat. Super cool part about tonight is it’s happening on the Winter Solstice, for the first time since 1638. WHOA science!! Darkest day in 327 years 8) #talknerdytome All the deets can be seen in this post from Yahoo and here’s some tips from Gawker: * Locate the moon. (Hint: It’s in the sky.) The earth’s shadow should start showing on the moon’s lower left around 1:33 a.m. Eastern time, which is when Fallon ends, if you’re on the east coast, or halfway through Hawaii Five-0, if you’re on the west coast. * The shadow moves slowly, but by 2:41 a.m., the entire moon will be covered, and will stay that way for an hour. The is the optimal time for consuming your peyote, playing your war drums, murdering people, etc. * The shadow will start moving again at 3:53 a.m., and the moon will be back to normal by 5:00 a.m. At this point it’s appropriate to do your winter solstice folk dances and poetry recitals. I’ll be star moon gazing tonight! xo

what are you wearing? i dunno. i just put stuff on.

I wore cute tights today. It was sunny bright outside. Sabrina’s Mum sent these tights from Hawaii. My Mum said she is hoping to send something from NY when they stop there on the big sailing adventure. If anything I hope she picked up something from a second hand store. She’s got great style and always knows good things for my sister and I. MISS YOU MUM. Call me when you get phone or internet. It was quite windy out today as well… I went to an ofice for a meeting and heard “oh look at you” then “you are like a Blossom but in 2010”. I forget that most office settings don’t wear funky outfits with hats and tights and scarves and stuff all different colours. I forgo and I am glad that I forgot. You should forget too. Dress fun and be unique. Working from home, I feel is the best thing for personal stle. Mind you, my room is messier than ever and I find motivation to clean it is nonexistent. Everytime I leave the house I throw together a mish-mash of things and accessories, hats, scarves and jewels galore. Every time I leave the house I am in costume, I am playing a part, I am me. This is my life. You are always someone when you leave the house, you are someone different on Monday morning than you were on Sunday morning (especially if hungover!). Your Friday afternoon self is different from holiday dinner self or your Sunday with Nana self. We are changing all the time. Lets hope it’s always for the better. In other news…myspace is back with a new layout and logo. I spent a couple minutes on mine today but I am not feeling it at all. Myspace is ugly. I…
