white on blackberry: social media device search

Remember the post to all Canadian phone companies? The one saying I want a social media phone…one for someone who is super social?

What is important to me in a new unit:

– Camera with a flash that can take clear photos day or night (Twitpic)
– Keyboard that is easy to type when walking or with one hand
– Ability to Tweet/Facebook
– Multiple email accounts
– Easy internet browsing (Blog, Tumblr, Posterous)
– Cut, copy, paste
– Video Camera (12seconds)
– Wi-Fi
– Backup contacts (for people who lose/break shit)

Bonus:
– BBM – Blackberry Messenger
– 3G

I got my first response from Rogers and my brand new white Blackberry 9000 arrived yesterday. The catch is, I have to give it back, but I do get to try it for a while. so i’s kinda good. Already not sure the white leather back is gonna stay clean?

Chatted someone from Telus about their phones today and other inquiries are rolling in.

This is my search for the ultimate social media phone for my socialness.

    1. Leather cover = interchangeable. Want it another colour? Grab one! Want another white one cos that one isn't so white? Grab one!

    2. Faster processor than a Curve…the new BB's are faster so you can have lots of things open at once. I really loved Ubertwitter and FB on the BB and switching between the two (c'mon iPhone…run more than one thing already!!)

    3. The camera works fine – it has a flash so you can take pics at night and it's faster than some cameras I've tried so you actually get a pic and not a blur. Which..honestly…I love. Unless I intentionally WANT to blur a pic 😛

    4. I didn't like the music player so much but that's always evolving with the OS updates and it's not what makes it what it is. If you want a phone primarily for music, I don't think a BB is what you're after.

    5. Keyboards rock. I won many of my entertainment devices because I typed super fast ridiculous on a keyboard. I'm sure you could adjust without one but there's something to be said for typing with gloves on in the middle of the winter and most touchscreens don't respond to gloves n such.

I could go on but I won't take up all this space here…you msg me if you want more info. I used to test phones if you haven't figured that out yet 🙂 heehee. I'm also geek-a-licious. 🙂
