i never really know how you feel, then this happens…

I got this email the other day and it really made me happy. I though I’d share with you because every once in a while, someone writes me something and I really really admire and love it.  It’s a crazy thing the internet and how we connect with people these days. I feel so happy when someone says I’ve touched their life in some special way. Don’t every be shy to email me. I read everything and  I reply. Have an awesome day. I’ve been contemplating a trip to Australia over the past couple days, going back and forth between putting down a payment or not, and then tonight I went to your blog and saw that you posted something about your time in Sydney. It was almost like a sign, this wasn’t the only time this has happened to me with things you post, but is the most recent and really struck a chord with me. Needless to say, I’m booking the trip. Carly & I, at it again! Life of the party 🙂 Thanks to Jason for stopping to shoot us & thanks to my planning, I’ve managed to get my work done today and attend two sessions. The afternoon one I went to was all about Women in Social Media and I learned I need to start being on panels. I’ve got lots to share about internet, personal branding, stalkers, privacy. I’ve been doing this internet thing since  before ICQ & I started blogging on that old myspace in 2005. In other daily news, got an email today for the SXSW panel picker for 2011. Had a great call about a campaign with a new client. Confirmed I’m a judge for the Canadian Online Publishing Awards. Heading over to Peach Berserk before getting my hair done  to see about a special MMVA dress too. I’m really excited about life and my friends and my job. All this stuff just makes me wanna work harder and set BIGGER goals! LOOK OUT WORLD HERE I COME! FTW! I got to thinking about that MTV TJ job everyone is buzzing about and looked back to that article about me in the Metro back in Jan. Made me feel pretty lucky/proud of how much I’ve grown since then and what I’m doing at work. Went to the Sailor Jerry thingy last night with Carly. It was ok, not that exciting. Anna took our photo for EXTRA and we had some good chats. They had burgers & stuff but all I had was rumski/coke. Karrera is in town so I booted home to spend the night with her. So awesome. I really miss her now that she moved out west. We’ve been besties sine we were like 12.  Planning to attend an exclusive opening with Carly again tonight, hopefully the rain won’t break my stride. Brought Kelly Cutrone’s book for her to borrow. If you’ve not read it, do it, it’s fucking awesome. If You Have to Cry Go Outside. Wearing wellies and a rain coat today, as you would imagine.  My Marketing Team at MuchMTV has a burrito lunch together today for our meeting. So hungry. Ya! Ai ai ai ai ai aia ia ai ai ai yeeeeeeeeee!! (That’s me excited for burito). No matter what today, don’t let the rain get you down. Jump in puddles, get wet. You won’t melt, you WILL dry. Spent the night at work tweetin’ away as @mtvcanada and watching the MTV movie Awards. Feelin’ lucky that this is my job, I would be tweeting the show from my personal account given this wasn’t my gig so it’s pretty awesome. Was NOT impressed with Xtina’s weak performance, Katy Perry was good. I love her so much man, she’s so hot.  Tom Cruise was hilar with J.Lo. There was a bunch of swearing which was a shocker but funny. I’m taking Friday afternoon of this week and coming in late tomorrow morning. I’m gonna get a bit of work done tonight for Carly (my agent) before I hit the hay. Ok nighty night. Feelin’ pretty tired. Looking forward to sleeping in! xo

DO YOU HAVE A GUN MISS?

So yesterday I had a really intersting experience going through customs before leaving YYZ. I was very smily and dressed kinda cute as I approaced the dreaded security check at the airport. It always scares me for some reason, there is just something about all the turnstiles and other crowd control measures that puts me on edge! I do understand how important these security checks are though, and after reading this website about security turnstile here I probably know much more about airport security and turnstiles than the average person! Hence, I was extremely pleasant as I emptied all my gear intot the tray, laptop, shoes, small bottled liquids. I was pretty excited to step into the body scanner. It was my first time flying since this had been implemented a few months ago after the underwear bomber. No problems with the body scan but as I turned around it seemed a couple security guards were puzzled by something in my suitcase. First thought, they saw my ‘Hitachi massager‘ and they’re gonna give me a hard time, second thought, my corsets with metal boning have them confused. Neither was the case and as one security guard after another, followed by several police officers went for a look, I began to get scared. WTF are they looking at? I tried to be positive about the whole thing and deffinitley not get emotional. Crying would only make this worse, “keep smiling & don’t look scared” I told myself. A secutiry guard and police officer begun filling out paper work and the questions started coming. Where do I live, what do I do, where was I going & why. They could tell I was getting worried and told me to stay calm, so I tried as my hands were getting real sweaty and…

i’m sew in love with you zoe

I’m heading to MTV for The Hills to meet a bunch of peeps. Threaded the needles and had my first sew tonight.  It feel so good to sew again. I used to make stuff all the time, since I was little. Sometimes I made clothes for Jenie. I had a business in grade 6 where I made & sold gym bags with drawstring. They mde a rule it was manditory to have a gym bag and I saw an opportunity there. Might of even been grade 5 in Mrs Rolts class. Mum, can you verify that? I’ve named by sewing maching Zoey, Zoey Ng. Now I made things and I call it zoeyng.  I am so happy. I don’t even care if it rains for days because I can stay inside making sun dresses and beautiful things so that when it is sunny, we can look stylish. I’m in love and I haven’t even made anything yet.

I was really busy today with work and didn’t have time to bloggy blog until now! I usually develop a mild anxiety if I don’t update. Oh man, you should see me if whole day goes by without internet or blogging, I start scratching and pacing like a total crack head nut job. I wore these shoes today, wanted to give them another go.  Last time I wore them my feet were torn to shreds and hurting for at least a week. Shoes, I have a message for you “you’re cute but it’s OVER, it’s not you, it’s me, you hurt ME. I wanna be with you, inside you but the pain is unbearable.” Wore this shirt today, one of my fav’s I ordered from Threadless.  On my way back from meeting Abby to talk Degrassi I got stopped by L’oreal. Really good pickup line “you have amazing style, can we take your picture”. Obvs I was like “yeah”. Turns out one of the photog’s does work for MuchMTV and I uploaded a bunch of his Juno photos last week. Small world, totes. Good thing I brought flip flops to walk home in the rain. RAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I’ve never actually seen Star Wars. I dated this boy way back who despite being in his mid twenties, still has a Star Wars bed spread and sheets. Lightsaber anyone? Haha If you didn’t notice on FB or Twitter or the Gregorian calendar, today is May the Forth. Get it? No, urgh, May the Fourth be with You! Its super nice out again today. I miss my camera. Morning photoshoots had become part of my regular routine. I can’t take full shots of my outfits anymore. Really digging the rooster alarm BTW. I think its funny. I try to do little things here and there to make my day better. Tuesday is my busiest day of the week now that The Hills is back on. Sky looks really clear today. I’ve got lotsa exciting things happening around me at the moment and I wanna share it all. Oh, guess who’s performing at the MMVAs? Both my girlfriends. haha.

i feel like a celebrity in this room with you

Woke up and had as couple great phone chats with friends. Fun night out with the work mates last night. I seriously love my work. I love what i’m doing and the people. Tomorrow May 2, marks 6 months working with MuchMTV. I was in my old job for two years and knew it wasn’t where I wanted to be. I needed to be doing somehting I loved. I loved twitter and blogging and publishing and internet and I knew I could find a job where I could show that love in a big way. I found it. There are so many new jobs popping up all the time, we’re a lucky generation to be able to say “Hey I want  __________ and I’m gonna get it.” One of the video’s I did for My City Lives last week talks about GenyTO and the group of like minded individuals behind the idea that started it in Jan 2009. I’m so inspired by the friends I’ve made over the last couple years. You can watch the vid’yo here, having trouble embedding it for some reason. Look who’s a Degrassi student today! I was running into a meeting earlier today and my boss asked if my shirt was new and if I was going to the big meeting this afternoon. “No” I said, “oh, it’s a DEGRASSI meeting” he replied.  I look like SUCH a keener and I love it. Abby gave it to me last night as a thank you for inviting her to my Hills party.  She works with the show which is awesome cause it’s gonna be airing on MuchMusic. BTW if you ever wanna come watch The Hills with me at MTV, just ask! I’ll be hanging out there on Tuesday nights. Remember last week when I filmed with My City Lives, the vids are aliiiiiive!
