ARRIVE IN STYLE

Über is launching in Toronto and a friend invited me to be one of the first to try it out. So, downloaded the app and booked a car. Less than five min and this fancy thing rolled up… I took it to my hair appt at Darren’s and as I hopped out of the car I had this moment where I was like “ahhh, this is more like it”. Felt like a diva and it was lovely. Walked to a meeting then called booked another Über to take me home. Luxury fleet is so damn glam compared to taxi! Met up w/ Shannon for a celebratory drink, then took one more Über to the Doc Martens party. Man, everybody and their dog blog was there! Helloooooo blondetourage & Beckerman babes! Cass & Em ILU. Had a few beers, (caved and) got maccas then went home to watch Criminal Minds. LIFE IS CRAZY, live it out!

Sunrise to Sunset: a bloggers work is never done always fun

View from my hotel at The Henry today at 8am. I really should get up early more often. The last few days Ford has dome a really great job of making sure we never go hungry. Food everywhere. Remember the candy bar the other day? At one of our stops today I raided this only ate one of these I promise. Some of the other kids have really good versions of this photo with more of us in it. It’s so incredibly cool to meet other international bloggers. There were all kinds of media represented including LifeHacker, Gawker, About.com, heaps of design magazines, tech writers, fashion bloggers. This car so CRAY CLAY! Look who it is…. We’re actually a LOT alike, seeeeeee. Meet Dylan, artist & uber babe from South Africa(the one I was creeping yesterday). Check out VISI design mag and his tweets here. I think he looks kinda like Johnny Depp. A little message for you Jan 10, 2012 | Source: Keek.com

Fit to Fly, Fit to Flex, Fit to Work It Out

Good morning from the gym. Can you believe I’m here this early? Cripes! I’m serious about gettin’ beach ready for Costa Rica and more fit in general TBH. Jukari uses Cirque to Soleil to bring fitness to life. Look at me flying in that GIF, so fun! Did my first Jukari Fit to Fly class with Julie a couple months ago (see here) and loved it.  She’s is back from Montreal to teach today’s Fit to Flex class. Today’s workout is more stretching & resistance using the Jukari Band. Heading to 99 Sudbury post workout for AndroidTO, Canada’s largest Android conference. I’ve been an Android user for about two years. Currently using Motorola DEFY. Filming a video with the uber hot Jason Howlet this afternoon after the conference. Call sheet said to bring a dress & pajamas. I wonder what we’ll be doing!

Now, don’t get me wrong because there IS a difference.

I’m currently shopping on Dealuxe.ca to pick out an outfit for my talk on Thursday during Mashable Socal Media Day. Sign up here to come for the fun, there’s 250+ people coming already. Gonna be fun to see everyone. This skirt is cute too eh. Mum loves it. I’m also browsing EGOCLOSET to pick out something to review & while testing out their new online store. Thinking this uber cute Diamond Pocket Dress, Maxi Jumper or this Chifon tail dress. Loving those long flowy skirts & dresses. They were really popular in NZ last year & they are ALWAYS ahead in style down there. I love getting stuff in the mail, everyone loves mail.  The other day Keri & I came home feeling kinda blahhhh and my friends at Bud Light sent me a 12 pack just because they knew it was going to be a nice weekend. Thanks guys, it did make the weekend better and I appreciate it. Sometimes I wonder why I’m even talking about this…. should I keep quiet? Here’s the thing about blogging I don’t love: C.C Chapman wrote about it six months ago. The Mommy bloggers have been talking about it way before I brought it up,  good article on MomBlogMagazine about it here. PR email comes in about an ‘exciting’ new campaign that brand XX is launching. It is either a one day event or it spans several weeks but it is ‘perfect for my audience’. This is a what is called ‘Blogger Outreach’. The company knows from idea conception that they want to connect with bloggers although they bugdet nothing for the bloggers who are going to do a bunch of work. They know exactly who they are going to target because we are all on the same list.

up up here we go where we stop nobody knows

jamming to this right now, play it if you got sound or you feel like jammin’ too… I was laughing in this photo. I had noticed after a couple camera snaps there was a few people looking. I saw someone turn their eyes back to the road and they were smiling. It made me smile. I love taking so many photos, I feel like a tourist every day in this awesome city. Wore my docs again today. Man, I really forgot how confortable they are. I got them in the summer from the Doc Marten store on Queen Street. They are the Triumph style and She Does the City wrote about them being the awesomest boot ever. Didn’t even know that when I got ’em. WIN! Today for the first time I noticed a street sign in Union Station for Brookfield Place. It reminded be of this legendary brand new appartment building I lived in at 15 Brickfield Street in Sydney Australia back in 2004. Well to be honest with you, it was a suberb of Sydney called Paramatta. Spent about 20 min just now Google map-walking around the streets. After Paramatta for a couple months I ditched that place and moved to Bondi Beach. It’s beautiful there…ah, memories. This made the front of all the city’s papers today I’m sure. When I saw the caption “love you forever” it only reminded me of the book by Robert Munsch and Mum reading it to me. It was my fav growing up. Miss you Mum. Nice chatting on Skype today ♥ I hardly read the Metro. It’s quite a ‘subway’ thing for me. I saw this little ditty with Tweets  about chosing a job you love.  I worked real hard to get here. That’s what it takes.  It’s not easy but…

Take me down to the paradise city. Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty. Take me home. Oh, won’t you please take me hoooooome!

See you soon DAD! Heading home for the weekend with my sister. One of her friend is getting maried. None of my friends get married, what’s that say? Probably that we are all hardworking yuppies in the city who go out during the week and spend more time on the internet furthering our careers than settling down suberbs style and catch a fish. Ya? I think so. These photos were taken by the lovely Erin Leydon. We had a shoot the other week. She’s a jem. Really looking for a break from the concrete jungle where all my dreams are coming true right now. I want grass and trees and car rides with Dad and home cooked meals. I get sick of Sushi for one and eating dinner from a takeout box while standing alone in my kithen. Somedays I enjoy that the most. Others I don’t. I’m going to see old friends and hear new stories about their lives. I sometimes don’t want to talk about my life when I see people because I already told the whole free world about what I am doing on my blog. Everything and nothing at the same time; I saw a movie, went to a party, layed down in the grass, watched a youtube. It’s all stuff and a life, it’s my life and I love it. I love sharing. Part of the reason I love sharing it to talk to myself and remember things better. A blog is really good therapy. Always listens to your thoughts and helps you get them out. It was realy windy the day we were shooting. Ok bye. I’ve not packed and I gacve my sister shit about not being late and guess what, BIG SURPRISE…I’m going to be late. Sorry Dad 🙂 LOVE YOU. Happy…

it was so weird at the time, i couldn’t stop myself

i’m not sure what happened but it did. i light went on. it was a few things that lead me there. creative people around me, compliments on creative work, being surrounded by smart, successful, creative business people. thinking about ‘it’s not how good you are it’s hot good you wanna be’, one of my favorite books. i feel like i can’t really go back now. they say if you do what you love you will have success, i love doing this. i love writing and taking photos and laughing at myself and remembering thing things i forget. it makes me happy to do social good; social good in funness, good causes, good people. i stayed up all night. learning about things. reading blogs, commenting. drawing in sketchbook.when i have an idea i write it down. i’ve found some neat stuff lately and most i’ve posted on my tubmlr blog. it’s all the things i find around the internet that i don’t put here but like to share. i read a great article called ‘the 7 vices of highly creative people, posted on salon.com, Feb. 9, 200o. i know i have my vices and bad habits, but i have good ones too. read it here. “If you go through life free of bad habits, you won’t live forever, but it will feel like it. ”

Remember when Smith Jarred dropped his pants?

How happy the audience was with the performance? The show was moving and creatively expressive. It was flowing with emotion and bursting with exuberance. I felt this way recently.I was moved. I was inspired. I wanted to dance. I recently attended show that was graced with American Apparel and bare skin. Sex. Identity. Kettle one. Sweat. Violence. Strength. Dancers moving to elegant sounds and screaming heartfelt emotion. There was pain and love and seeds of anger. It was fierce and touching. It was poignant and personal. The show ‘BloodLetting and Other Things’ is choreographed by Tony Chong and performed by Dancemakers and the Centre for Creation. To introduce their exciting 2008/2009 season, Dancemakers and the Centre for Creation, host “DanceGlass” a unique launch event and fundraiser. The event will be on November 26, 2008 beginning at 7pm The Kitchen, 1186 Queen Street West.Call 416-367-1800 or email Marie for tickets or more info. Support the arts community and contemporary dance. I know you all watch DWTS and SYTYCD. This is your chance to take part in an event that supports those type of dancers. ♥
