i can hear you calling my name

I love this city, I do. For some reason, probably many reasons, I started feeling a travel bug this week. Maybe it’s the over whelming amount of things I need to do, starting with cleaning my room (again) and organizing the piles of paper, replying to emails, blogging about things that already happened. That’s the thing about the internet and having a blog about life, sometimes you just want to stop and go back to living a life like those other people who don’t internet their lives.  I caught up on sleep this weekend and spent some time with my sister. This stuff helps. I also hung out with my first love, he came to visit and I wondered if there is a spark still there, 10 years later, he’s still great but I think we’ve grown too far apart. I miss that someone special I was hanging out with for a while last year, it all ended so fast. Not having closure gives me anxiety. You get busy and forget about your heart sometimes but when it’s a rainy day at home you miss that love you once had. I can’t seem to find my flip cam in my room, I’m sure it’s just hiding, I know it’s there. I downloaded a whole bunch of apps to my phone last night, there’s this one police light that doesn’t the blue/red with sound. There’s a strobe light too. I’m sure I’ll fond some silly place to put it to use it along with the cheezy soundbyte apps. I’m getting a new tattoo tomorrow. Still have to send in my LGFW schedule for work. I’m most looking forward to Barbie on Thursday. I’ve been watching movies all day and they’re having an effect on my mood for sure,  one romantic comedy after another. I really should put on something more happy or funny. Why is my blog being so slow today? Ah, get into  that later. I think it needs a makeover anyways. My hair has faded a bit and looks more grey than purple/blue now.

Ok, that’s all for now. Just reached for my sketch book, I’ll use that to cheer me up with cartoons & colour.

Twestival & Samsung parties were both fun. We raised over $20,000 for Concern Worldwide in Toronto alone.  I wasn’t sure about the 3D TV but seriously, that shit is amazing.  Feeling tired today, been a long week. This March is madness, so many events, so little time, so much to write about.  Gah, feeling a little overwhelmed.  Naptime when I get home. Gotta make a sched for LG Fashion week.   Looking forward to the Y&R at 4:30, shit be gettin’ CRA-ZAY. Hope your day is good. Sun is shining and despite feeling a bit drained, I’m happy. TTYL xo

i’ll be your sunshine when skies are grey

Popped over to see Darren this morning and got a little grey-ness put into my hair. It’s on the runways this season and I really wanted to have it done before fashion week. Tonight is Twestival and I’m super excited to be surrounded by everyone tonight. Tickets are almost SOLD OUT. If you want one get it here. There’s over 400 people already attending. I’m giving away two tickets on @mtvcanada‘s Twitter today, we’ve had SO MANY RT’s! It’s awesome.

Before I hit up the big part I’m stopping by Notable TV‘s launch of the brand new Samsung 3D TV with Sabrina. Booya. Stoked to see this in baby action. Ok, that’s all for now! Have an awesome day!

Check this Twestival video:

casie in the city

To Whom it may Concern,

Casie is to stay home tonight and get to bed early. She is very tired and needs to have lots of energy for tomorrow night’s festival of Twestival. This is the BIGGEST Twitter party ever. There is no room for tiredness!

Check this out! My friend  Jennifer Herd has an art show coming up later this year and she drew a couple City Girls and little ol’ me is one of them. Arms over head, smiling, having fun, looks about right!

i did it all for excitement and fun

I was sitting waaay up high with the press peeps and not paying attention to the game. First goal happened, not for the Leafs. I was not surprised.  It also doesn’t matter to me, I pick the Leafs as my team cause Toronto’s my city and I hardly ever watch hockey outside the Olympics anyways.  I l0ve the Kiss Cam (when camera goes on you, kiss person beside you) and Luke’s Troops (camera goes on Troops & tells story) the most. I also love the hockey hair and guys/girls in jerseys, Canadian celebs and people in suits.  Saw Walter Gretzky, Eugene Levy and a couple Mountie’s too. It’s a sight to be scene,  it’s awesome. Sports games are a social experience for me, out of my comfort zone, but yet I’m so easily comfortable.  People watching never goes outta style.

I could hear the announcers voice behind me as I sat there listening to his voice on the loud speaker. It was amusing, I liked it.

Changed this post (originally posted Tuesday night at about 8pm) to present tense when I got home. I’ve got a busy Wednesday ahead of me. Another event tonight. Excited for Twestival tomorrow & the 3d TV Samsung launch. Next week is Fashion Week. OMG. Seriously, March MADNESS. I need to sleep all weekend if I’m going to make it.

Tweeted some non-hockey banter and  Twitpix last night.

Elsa can’t work next week.

I need to fill her Intern position.

i always wanted a girl just like you

sometimes you’re up & sometimes you’re just average

Hello Monday,

Nice to see you again. Not a “case” of you today more like a sort of “amazing case” fills the air around me and makes me feel sunny between all these clouds and raindrops. [Case of the Monday’s Mum, it’s from Office Space, a movie]

My stylist came over last night and after the hot tub time machine, lectured me that I NEED to make time to get my hair done.  I desperately need to go in, but seriously, have not  had the time. [Sorry!] I’m going to have to zip over there during the day for an hour this week. Fashion Week is coming and I’ve been invited to a bunch of shows this year including……..BARBIE!  I’ve had a bunch of interview requests recently too,  so like, seriiiiiiously need ma hair did. The WORST is having your photo documented in history…[dun dun dun] with BAD HAIR. [Talk about first world problems….haha]

Made an appointment for my new tattoo yesterday. Right forearm, hot. The guy who is doing my tattoo looks kinda like this babe  I tumbled across last night.  I never blog about boys, and rarely post  photos of them, it’s better that way.

Random thought….I have this terrible fear of one day, losing my memory, the only thing I will have to remember is this blog and that is how I will know who my friends are, events, people who matter and those I love. I guess that drives me.

I remember when I was little my Mum [wisdom queen] saying “there’s something special about you Casie” and I believed her.

Feeling cold and like snuggling up in my bed. Had a pho for lunch which made me warm but extra tired. Woke up super early to Sabrina’s alarm at 5ish AM and couldn’t for the life of me get back to sleep. I didn’t get to sleep in this weekend either [bummer] so tonight, I rest and relax. OK that’s all for now.

ttyl. bye.

do you have any religious views?

I’m not into the conformity of religion. I despise people when think going to church forgives all your nasty things like being a jerk, bad parenting, littering, and douchebaggery.

I grew up with the influence of be kind, give, share, smile, love, happiness.  Basically, that is how I live my life, be kind, love yourself [you are awesome!] and help others where you can, inspire and be inspired by thoughts & things. I had/have very loving parents and a am an older sister. I got to teach things to her growing up and  also learn from her.   She was my everything growing up, me & Jenie we like peas and carrots.

The closest I ever came to religion was studying Kabbalah for a couple years, it changed my life. I have a tattoo on my right wrist of a hai [life in Hebrew] with a pink heart. It is on the right wrist as that works with my circular flow of energy [Left to Right], and in my mind, stamps all my thoughts and feelings coming outward with “love life”.  [And you wondered why I was so happy all the time!] That is my religion, loving life. Many of the teachings I learned from Yehuda Berg, my Rabbi Moshe Yogev and my friends at the centre have greatly influenced my life. I shifted my level of consciousness during that time, I changed how I viewed the world, people, objects, my outlook on life.

I believe strongly that giving is its own gift, once you give, that in itself is a gift, therefore you have already received. The greatest happiness in my at the moment is seeing those around me succeed, helping them achieve, and inspiring others.

I’ve gotten some great emails lately and honestly, I love hearing from you. There’s so many  peeps, I feel I kinda know but haven’t  actually met.  Someday, I’d LOVE to go on tour and visit you all [Especially Jeanne in LA & Two Belt/E1E in Boston]. I put some new guys in to my sketch book this weekend and let me tell ya…borderline artistic is BACK.

Enjoy the day! LOVE LIFE

Question/post inspired by Formspring – Ask me anything

in a past life i was a blog

I’m recently watched Objectified, a doc about objects and design. I’ve been waiting, wanting to watch this and sit in my room for ages.

Me, my bed, my gadgets; laptop, camera, flipcam, phone, monitor, sketchbook, reading book, memory cards, usb/wall charger. Objects of my affection. The whole time I’m thinking about web and design, blogging and user interaction, activity.

“a big part of who you are as a designer is the way you look at the world”

jonathan ive, senior vp industrial design, apple

This is also a big part of what makes a good blogger, the ability to show the world how you see it through a different perspective. Taking something and designing it to be interesting.

“when you see an object, you make so many assumptions about that object”

The movie is artistic and filled with industrial design, computer technology, ergonomics, materials, form, connecting, analog, digital, spoon, chair, shape, look, feel. Making gadgets  better.  Making things user friendly.

“improve the way people do things without them really knowing or thinking about it”

“users react very positively when things are clear and understandable”

What are you saying in your header,  the way your blog/website move, images, widgets, pages, reading, writing, categories, colours, links. themes. There’s so many things to think about, so many opportunities to show creativity in detail, design.

phases of modern design

  1. formal logic or the object
  2. symbolism, content, rituals, cultural symbolism
  3. contextual sense, technological, human/object relationships

“everything that has ever filled your world had been designed”

“every object tells a story, it depends how you look at it.”

It really does not matter what you have, what you had, want, or what you own. You are whoever you want to be. How you perceive yourself has the biggest impact on how others perceive you, this is my belief and something I live. It was my dear mum that ingrained in me, “just because you don’t have money, doesn’t mean you can’t compete, you just have to be more creative”. Luckily for myself, I’ve always been rich in that department. The book in this post is one that I really, truly love and admire. It is written by Paul Arden one of the world’s top advertising guys who comes from a great career with Saatchi & Saatchi.

This is not merely a ‘book‘, this is a bible for the creative, those driven to succeed who couldn’t even ever imagine what it’s like to ‘think inside the box‘. It has taught me tools to succeed in the world, to dream the unimaginable, to break the rules, and make my own path, leaving trails for others to follow. This book is about stretching the mind and thinking about where you want to be in the world. Do you want to be well known? The best in your field? Your country? Best in the world? Or best in the universe?

You decide. I know where I want to be.

Can’t Fly with the Eagles if You’re with the Seaguls – Mum
