Ok, it’s Social Media Week around the world and whether you are part of it or not, one thing you can’t deny is that social + media has become an integrated part of our lives. Raise your hand if you’re on Facebook? Bloggers are taking front row seats at fashion shows, writing for magazines, being written about in magazines, appearing on TV, travelling on sponsors dimes and snatching up newly created jobs in just about every industry. You can’t avoid the shift in how media is now delivered or consumed. Something happened today that inspired me… I was scolded by a PR person (from an agency that I really like whom I have been posting & making videos about their things FOR FREE for over a year) because I didn’t promote a contest on MY blog to MY Twitter, enough. Some, but not enough. The second part of the scolding was because I didn’t make it to opening night for their ticketed event AND the winner I picked for my contest cancelled. So, the tickets went to waste. I’m sorry, I was ditched on Valentines Day ok!  The thing is, if they had of made a little contract and sent me some money, I would have been there (regardless of what happened) and promoted it. I probably would have asked friends to take part so we could go together. I often get people wanting to me to post about an event, run a contest, share with my friends, and attend events. Do you know how long that takes? To and from event easy 2 hours, blog 1-5 hour, contesting, sharing online, writing copy, taking photos, coordinating winners. It takes hours to make and create content. If you paid me minimum wage I’d barely have enough to take myself out for…

I’m not sure if you are aware but I have been watching the Young and the Restless since I was born. I PRV it every single day and watch it religiously. About this time last year I got the opportunity to interview the ONE AND ONLY Victor Newman but was flying out to Costa Rica on a surf trip. I was heartbroken, but sent Barbie to conduct the interivew and it went off with flying colours. Her and Kevin even got a message from Victor for me. He said he missed me. This year at the National Women’s show, Peter Bergman, aka Jack Abbot was in town and I was given the opportunity to interview him. Unfortunately, I was flying to Calagary for a fashion trip and could not do the interview. AGAIN! GAHHHHHH! I must admit, I wasn’t as excited as I was when I got to meet “the moustache” but I was pleasantly surprised with Peter’s charisma. Sabrina: How do you like Toronto? Peter: I love Toronto; it is a “YandR Mecca” – more devoted YandR fans here than any other city, over Boston, Chicago or New York City. All the cast members love coming to Toronto. I have a funny story today about something that happened it starts with, “I got a new pair of shoes…” I ordered them from Solestruck and got dinged on customs $61. Not really worth it but I’ve gotten off scott free a few times with customs to I think of it as gratitude. Putting it out there. I hadn’t worn them yet and they were under my desk for a day. Then it was raining so i thought, “hey why not wear them at the office, they look cute with your outfit”. Talking to myself. They are my second pair of Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s, the most comfortable and easy to walk in heels I have ever owned. BUT TODAY… I WAS PWNED! I FERL DERN DA STERS. Was coming down from upstairs with a couple colleagues (looking glamourous), carrying one of their 13″ Macbbok Air’s (we are Apple Office!) and wearing my new shoes. And then before I knew..it, (it felt slow motion) I did a barrel roll, down the stairs. Colleagues heard the sound Eddie makes in Delirious above. Unfortunately, nobody saw and  there was no camera because I swear to you it would have been hilarious. We all had a good laugh as I fought back tears, and I can’t tell if they were from falling or laughing. I’m ok but I reckon might hurt tomorrow and I have a goose egg on my head. My job is really great and I absolutely love it despite the 3rd degree burn incident and falling down the stairs. THE END. <3 CASIE

 Dear Diary, Great sleep. Good day. Lots to get done. Heat wave. Sunshine. Summer love. Tomorrow is Friday the 13th and I wanna get tattooed. Tuesday night I popped into ‘Mattel Game On’ at GCI Group’s rooftop and played some games with friends. It was fun. I didn’t win the grand prize but it was nice to see the media peeps. I went last year too, see that post here. Recognize anyone? After games night I scooted to Bloor Street for a foodie event. We were at Noka Japanese thanks to Ken Samuel and the food was DELICIOUS. This plated selection is called the Threesome. Creative one haha 😉 First time trying this beer from Kensington brewing Company. Did you happen to chatch this outfit cruising downtown West yesterday? I loved walking behind her in my vintage dress w/ cowboy boots. Complete opposite.
