Grillin’ Up Some Brekky w/ My Homies

Sasha, Garret, and I make a mean Saturday morning brekky. We grilled some steaks and asparagus wrapped in bacon, made french toast, and eggs in a hole. It was delicious! Since we filmed I’ve used my little Griddler quite a bit. Before spring arrived with BBQ season I was grilling chicken breasts, cooking steak, sausages, and more. It goes up to 500 degrees so it fully cooks your food and FAST! That’s a wrap on our 4 part video series, thank god!

Stop to Smell the Roses, Treat Yourself

I started this weekend off right with a trip to Hammam Spa early Saturday morning. I spent about 30 min in the steam room before my St. Tropez treatment. It’s a sunless tan type application and to be honest, I think it wore off already and I won’t do it again. The experience itself was great and I booked with Cynthia who is awesome. Smashed up some bananas in the blender to throw into this mix when it came out of the juicer. It was a great way to start Sunday morning. I made Sean and I nice breakfast and we watched Romancing the Stone, an old romance-find-the-treasure movie from the 80’s. These shoes arrived Friday from the NastyGal Shoe Cult. I made a mistake in the postal code when I purchased them and I totally thought they were on their way back to NG HQ. Had lunch at Free Times Cafe for Ariel & Chris’ engagement party. It was fun and the food was amazing. I really like Yiddish music. I wish I understood! The piano player was from the National Ballet of Canada too. Stopped by the Parkdale Flea Market on the way home. It was such a nice day out I just wanted to do things outside! I picked up a shirt for Sean with an illustrated bear that is running. It’s super cute. Made a delicious juice this morning with spinach, kale, grapefruit, apple, pear, and a dash of cinnamon. It’s so freaking good! If you missed our latest Cooking with Cuisinart episode with the juicer, watch it here. I feel good if I keep posting the juices I make because it serves as a good reminder for me to keep making them. I’d determined to drop a few LBs this month! When I arrived at the office…

Making Magic w/ Garret and a Food Processor

In this episode, Sasha, Garret and use a  Food Processor and make a delicious pizza (Garret’s recipe!) and chocolate muffins.  TBH, the pizza was so good I ended up taking some home for Sean We made the dough and topping the food processor. I didn’t really know what a food processor was before we filmed this. I had no idea you could make so many things with it. Garret uses his all the time for breads, salsa, even homemade hummus. Props to him for the nice image above. This is is my Martha Stewart pose.

And We’re Back! | The Juice Life (I mean me lol)

OK so I kinda lost hold of that ‘juice life’ I was rolling for a few weeks. I love my new juicer but it’s a life change to keep up with a new routine. I WAS getting groceries each Sunday morning like a good lil’ b, then I missed one day and it screwed up my whole week. After that, I missed two weeks because I didn’t make the time. Keeping up juicing takes a bit of dedication. Not the actual juicing part, that’s easy, but the stocking up on quality fruits and veggies. Now I’m back!  Today I made a gorgeous blend of green apple, carrot, celery, ginger,  and lemon. I’ve been sipping on it all day! If you have any great juice recipes or tips to stay on the juice train, let me know via Twitter or in the comments. Love to know your thoughts on this series too. <3 CASIE

Post Yoga Juicing Party

I’ve been using my juicer everyday since we filmed this. At first I was like, how do I use this thing! This is my confused face haha. We did yoga then rolled up to Sasha’s house so she could give me the low down on exactly how to juice right. Once we realized how EASY it is we were ready to get started. Garret raided the market for heaps of fresh organic goodness. Look, this is us laughing! 🙂 We used lots of fresh ingredients. Try to use organic stuff but no matter what make sure you wash everything really good. In the last week I have gone through more vegetables and fruit than ever in my life. Ginger Beet Juice Recipe Ingredients: 1 medium size orange 3 kale leaves 2 medium sized Fuji apples 2 medium sized carrots 1 large beet 1 1-inch piece of peeled ginger Ice Cubes (optional) Feeling Worse Before You Feel Better This pic is some of the juices I made over the last week. One thing I learned about as a beginner is ‘Detox Headaches’. Your body finally has a chance to get rid of some of the toxins it has been holding onto, if you are like me, my liver is full of them! Which is why a liver detox is for me. Remember, your body is going through a healing and cleansing process, it can take 1-4 weeks to clean you up depending on the toxicity level in your body. Make sure you drink lots of water and don’t give up. I feel heaps better this week than last week. I would LOVE to know your fav juice recipes. Tweet me or leave a comment. I’m new at this so I’m really up for anything!

Spring Is Here! | Ted Baker Prints, No Socks, Sunshine

Oooh that sunshine is NICE! I took one look outside today and knew it was the day to bust out these Ted Baker flower pants. I’m wearing my fav shoes from last summer, cutout brogues from Browns. They killed my feet last summer but I’m hoping they’ll be a-ok today! Weekend seemed to whiz by. We filmed for 10 hours on Saturday in Ajax for Cooking with Cuisinart. The next three episodes are done and you’re gonna like them. Totally different that that first pilot episode. Much better! Spent more of yesterday relaxing and then watched Saving Mr. Banks, GREAT MOVIE. Brought back so many memories of our Disney Vacay to California last summer. Disneyland really is the happiest place on earth! Today I’ve got a lunch date with Ainsley Kerr then the Lacoste Spring/Summer preview after work. Hope your day is off to a great start. Make sure you soak up some of the sunshine out there! ♥ CASIE

Dermalogica’s Little Grey Pass, Cooking, & Tattoos

OMG yay It’s Friday. This week felt so long. I’m sure the everlasting winter and a sick day in the middle did NOT help. You know what did? The AMAZING facial I had at Hammam Spa. God I love that place. It was my first facial there and WHAT an experience. It in included a much needed cleanse and scrub on my dry winter face, massage on arms, neck, head, legs, warm towel on the feet, and recommendations on how to stay hydrated. After lounging in the steam room I picked up a new Dermalogica medium-weight moisturizer and headed to dinner. I’ve learned that taking time and spending some of your hard earned money to TREAT YO SELF really makes a difference. My face feels fresh and soft like a little baby bum. Tomorrow I’m heading to the BURBS to shoot our last episodes w/ Garret and Sash. I used this photo of Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevingne in my storyboard haha. The single shots of me talking were represented by the Stewart cooking queen herself, Ms. Martha! My fav tattoo artist Angelique Houtkamp is now on GelaSkins and I have my gadgets a makeover. Ok, how sexy are these!? Helloooooo! Now the match my tattoos. Ok, that’s all for now. It’s THE WEEKEND!

WMCFW | Shows, Street Style, Something Different

Last night kicked off World MasterCard Fashion Week in TO. It’s always fun seeing everyone show up and it feels like the first day back at school seeing all your fashion friends in one place. I started my evening at The Shore Club for the preview of Piloti by StyleBox. Especially loved the carnivore Club box of meats in the gift bag. You can bet Sean was happy when I arrived home with that, ha! #PilotiFW14 preview w/ @piloti. Rolls out in Canada/US/UK July 2014. #WMCFW pic.twitter.com/GbZaBxgvu2 — CASIE STEWART (@casiestewart) March 17, 2014 Highlights from WMCFW Day 1 WMCFW Street Style Day 1 I absolutely LOVE Line Knitwear.  It’s hard not to really. The colours and angora in this collection makes me want to wear everything at once. My old friend Natalie used to be roomies with John Muscat of Line Knitwear back when I first moved to Toronto, I wasn’t really in the fashion scene back. That reminds me, I have a gorgeous Line blazer I really need to bust out when the weather warms up, if it ever does! Urghhhhh! Line Knitwear WMCFW FW14 One of the cool things I saw at VAWK was Sunny Fong partnered with the Alleles,  winners of the Design Exchange’s recent Emerging Designer competition. They specialize in intricate covers for leg prosthetics and it was the first time I’d seen something like this on the runway!  (Photo via BlogTO read more here.) Can’t believe that @Jeanne_Beker just saw one of our prosthetic covers on the @VAWK runway @WMCFashionWeek…SO COOL!!!! — the Alleles (@the_Alleles) March 17, 2014 I won’t be at the tents tonight as I’m meeting the Cuisinart crew to plan our next episode. I can’t wait to get my hands on a juicer! I’ll be back tomorrow for Pink Tartan and Joe Fresh sharing what’s…

We Made Chicken in a Steam Oven

I know I’m probably not top of mind when it come to culinary arts, however I do know my way around a kitchen. Recently I filmed our first episode of a 4 part cooking series with my blog friends Garret and Sasha. We used a Steam Oven to make a roasted chicken & warm bread arugula salad. The chicken we used was 1 and 1/2 pounds and only took 50 minutes to bake. Using a steam oven cuts your cook time to also 50% of what it would be in a traditional  oven.  The finished product was golden, crisp and extremely moist. I’d never made a warm bread salad before and you’ll see how we did it in the video.  It was delicious! Roasted Chicken & Warm Bread Arugula Salad Next time we’re  using two juicer products. I’ve always wanted a juicer and it’s gonna be great for slimming down before summer!  On, now who’s hungry!?
