you’re so hypnotizing could you be the devil, could you be an angel

Morning friends. Mama’s headin’ to the beach today, yahoo. Get ya’ tan on. Yes Mum, I have sunscreen. Packed 60 for the face 🙂 Little rain over night but it’s beauty & warm out now. Great view (kidding!). Palm trees dudes, palms! Leaving Philly took foreverrrrrrrrr. Asked around and it seems so many planes were delayed in the US yesterday. I was like ‘JUST GET ME THERE ALREADY”. There were over five guys lined up to take off. It looked pretty. Luckily we jumped the line & got into the air first. Oh yeah. Had one of these on the plane. Super sweet and not even that good. Reminded me of Cuba. The brochure said it came in this really cute pre-mixed bottle, the ONLY reason I ordered it. I’m a sucker for sweet packaging. Fatal attraction to cuteness. Off to brekky now & then beach. I’ve been looking forward to this for MONTHS. Have an awesome day. P.S. Dave Coleman’s wicked condo at Young & Eg is for sale. He’s finally moving downtown! See it here. I would looove to have that much space. OmGAGA.

i’m not from around here (recently)

This was the start of our Tri-Cities Cruze yesterday: Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge. I LOVED having a car this weekend. This was me listenin’ to 50 Cent, imma gangsta. My sis. So pretty, ILU. Great hair. Windows down, sun on face. WIN. We went to Fairview Park Mall then the Cambridge Centre. I used to work at both. I did a season at Conestoga Mall too. When I was younger I worked at so many different stores in the mall, total mall rat.  First job ever was at Gap #989 Kitchener, I was 16. I would like to be in a car commercial. Chicopee Ski has this wicked tube hill. Looked fun. I wanna try it some time. We just did a drive-by.  SEE, so gangsta. I kid, I kid. Born This Way is playing on the radio like every 5 minutes. I don’t mind yet. Cruze with me baby. SUN SUN Thank you again GM for hooking me up with the opportunity to go home and see my papa and friends. The Chevy Cruze was an absolute pleasure to drive on the highway, in the city and on the country roads near Dad’s place. I felt safe and awesome. Sister totally loved being my passenger too. So great driving when the sun is out/going down. BTW the #FF winner is… DDDDDD-DANA McBride. Fab photo sista. We’ve never met but we will on March 23rd at Abode public Residence. If you would like to join us, here’s  the deets where you can get a ticket. This was her entry, love the shoes, love the dress, pose is fab. We’re gonna have a good time. She has a pretty cute tumblr too, glitter and skulls. Just did some creepin’, found this there. Peace out my friends! I’m at The Art of Marketing…

this post is alllllllll about winning.

The other night I was at Century Room for a music video shoot. Was chilling with a bunch of babes/models/friends: Jo, Jess, Me, Grace & Lilly. You are so cute JoJo. Renee, Kevin & her cute friend. (R-L) Jo dancing in the back, Jess txting in fur. I lost count on how many fireworks/bottles there were over the course of the night. We had a great time, I ended woke up with a killer hangover. Casie Sheen, aaahaha. My friend JD Howel was shooting the video, check out this awesome footage he shot of the Shuttle Discovery on a plane the other day. It’s now on MSNBC. WIN! “I was returning to Toronto from a shoot in Cuba on an Air Canada flight, and awoke just as it was happening,” Howell told me in an e-mail. “I started rolling my iPhone and caught two minutes of it before it exited the atmosphere. Talk about timing!” jdhowell.ca Went for a little stroll fitst thing this morning. Super sunny outside today. Check out this super hot photo of Keri by Suzy Lamont. WIN! Lady Gaga killed the runway in Paris last night for the Theirry Mugler  A/W 2011 show. God I love her. Waiting for a call from my sister to see if we will be attending her show tonight. Fingers crossed. I saw her last time she was in town, LOVE. Photo from dose.ca. In other news, I would like to thank GM Canada because tomorrow A CAR is being dropped off at my place for the weekend. I tweeted the other day that I would love the use of a vehicle now & then and that I didn’t want to own it, just use it. By the powers on the internet, I got an email from the lovely Adria  at…

all i want for christmas is you

Checked my phone first thing. Christmas messages from around the world are so awesome to wake up to. Thank you! Went upstairs and woke up my sister like I always do. She likes to sleep in. Dad made coffee. Fireplace channel was on. There’s snow outside which is nice but it doesn’t quite feel like Christmas to me. Maybe its the lack of snow? Last year I was in Cuba, hardly felt like Christmas then either. I was lazing by the pool at Hotel National in Havana eating bbq shrimp and fresh fish. I missed my family but there were so many distractions and I’m not that big on this holiday anyways. I enjoy giving presents all year. This is the first year Mum’s not been here for Christmas. Stopped by the house yesterday. I miss you Mum, more today than any other day. She makes it feel like Christmas, the many phone calls re: us coming home, who will be at dinner, what we are having, gift ideas, the tree, the decorations. It’s not the same without you Mum and I wanna make sure you know it. We’re gonna have a great day at Dad’s today. I brought Uno and last night we played Apples to Apples around the kitchen table. I’m sure the Bahamas is loving your energy Mum 🙂 Merry Christmas everyone. Have an awesome day and be thankful for all the joy in your life ♥

you’ve been saying that for years, just do it

I thought about working out. Always happens around now. I start thinking about summer and I really wanna work out. The thing is, I don’t ACTUALLY like working out or the gym. I was kinda into it before Cuba. I’m a jerk cause I’ve always been petite and never really got into the habit of working out. It gives me anxiety for some reason. I usually start by eating less and think about being skinny.  It actually works if you realllllly use your brain. I might start going with a friend who’s totally NOT scared of the gym. I recon I’ll need a bit of an ass whooping to get there but I know I can do it. Well, I don’t KNOW I can but I’m gonna have to fake it until I do.

nothing screams euro like salmon pants

Hotel Nacional is a really nice place to stay and had people from all over. Highly recommend going there. They’ll let you into the pool and all the different areas even if you’re not a guest. We had a gay old time trying to guess who was from where based on the way they did or didn’t speak English. There was a lot of Euro’s and you could spot them based on their style. We saw a bunch from peeps Brazil too. As far as I knew Americans weren’t allowed in Cuba, however, this is not the case. They don’t stamp your passport and you can’t fly direct. I made friends with an American girl who came from Cuba and an Aussie living in NY who flew in from Toronto. In the woods of Snookie…..”parties here”!

broke down, worn & washed away: old havana

I learned from an Aussie friend that nearly half of the Cubans living in Old Havana were staying in residences unfit for humans. On the last touring day we stepped off the main roads and saw a very different sight. The houses were so disgusting and broken down. I couldn’t believe people were actually living there. I instantly became grossed out and didn’t want to eat or drink anything from there. I’ve worked in restaurants before and could only imagine what the kitchens looked like. Gross. You can tell at one point the buildings were really beautiful but it’s been years since they’ve had new paint or work done. They’re all washed out and the concrete is crumbling. There are residences with very narrow staircases where the first floor is all dirty and inhabited then you look up and see laundry hanging out the second and third floor windows. We passed a block that looked abandoned and dirty then a couple doors down, a furnished house with working TV. A bunch of kids were playing volleyball in a square amongst more dilapidated buildings and half of them had no shoes on. It made me sad to see a place I though was so beautiful was really a shell of what it once was. So many stories and photos from differnt stuff. I’ve got cuban cars, food, style, travellers, music and more all written and I just need to post them. I would have taken week to do it there! I really enjoyed learning about life there.

his name was robertico, king of the plane

There’s a Cuban hot shot on my plane sitting diagonally behind us in First Class. I’m not sure what exactly he does but judging by the dated yet very high tech HD camcorder and 21” Toshiba on his lap, I imagine its something to do with film or entertainment. He’s wearing Prada glasses and sitting beside a glamour lady with heaps of gold jewelery and makeup. She is clipping his cuticles in their seats while one of the attendants dotes on him. They are first to get drinks up here. I have some type of Cuban orange pop that is $2 (even first class!). She feeds him a mixed drink with a straw while chomping on chips. A male flight attendant watches the camcorder with ear plugs and continuously laughs his head off. I’m working on interview questions for features on Techvibes and Ad Girl. They’re gonna come out just before Toronto Life’s February issue containing my photo. I know it’s going to be a good year, 2010, I can feel it in my bones. I look over, the in-flight manicure continues. He was obnoxious and we tried to guess who he was. Before exiting the place in Havana I asked an attendant, turns out, he’s a famous Cuban comedian. How funny. Not. I’ve got so many photos to upload but I don’t know the internet situation there. I prey for free wi-fi everywhere [fingers crossed]. The air is warm, the sun is setting, and I’m in Cuba for Christmas. OMG.
