That’s a Lot of Blog Posts

Doing a massive crawl through my blog for stories and fav posts from the last 10 years. There are thousands of posts. I wonder how long my blog would be if I printed it out? I’m gonna look into that. Turns out it’s kinda hard to print out your blog posts when you started writing back in the WebLog ages. I imagined this would happen. I’m spending the next few days going over my adventures to England, Costa Rica, LA, SF, Thainand, Cuba. Taking a look back at people I’ve met, events, and places I’ve been. I’m looking forward to taking you through the archives. 🙂 CASIE

Fashion | Ted Baker London & Baker’s Arcade at The Eaton Centre

Friday marks the opening of the second Ted Baker London store on Toronto at the Eaton Centre. It was two years ago when the first store opened in Ontario at Yorkdale Mall and it’s been great fun working with the brand since. I’ve collected a bunch of beautifully designed pieces and had the opportunity to visit Ted Baker London shops in New York City and London, England. Scroll down for some of my fav Ted moments from the last two years and info on the new ‘Baker’s Arcade’ shop at the Eaton Centre (opens Friday). I’m getting a sneak peek at the media preview tonight! The steel ceiling trussles are spray painted in neon pink and series of framed panels of wallpaper, fabric, leather and detailed collections of relevant props define each ‘shop’ area: Umbrella Shop, Watchmaker, Optician, Jeweler, Perfumery, as well as a Tea and Cake Shop. One of the most admirable things about Ted Baker London is the acute attention to detail in the design of stores, clothes, and accessories. My purses and wallet are lined with English Bulldogs,  my camel cape coat has funky orange ribbon lining. I love it! I’ll share some photos on the new shop after my visit tonight. Today I’m visiting the Shangri-La Spa and Evolve Hair Studio, before an audition at 4:30, then Ted’s baler’s Arcade event.  It’s gonna be a busy one! <3 CASIE

I’m starting  my weekend with the Toronto Fashion Incubator’s event tomorrow at The Drake Hotel. Post my 11am seating I’ve got an afternoon of GUILTY PLEASURES! A 90 minute massage followed by manicure and pedicure. I can’t WAIT! Deets on the TFI event below. If you are looking for something fun to do tomorrow morning, this is it! Yorkdale Expansion Opens Today w/ Ted Baker & More!

Last night I ventured uptown to Yorkdale Mall for the VIP pre-opening of the $220 million expansion. Yorkdale added 145,000-square feet of space 800 more parking spots, 27 new stores and a high-end food court. Five upscale stores are making their debut in Canada: Microsoft, Tesla Motors, Ted Baker London, Kate Spade and Ann Taylor Loft. As an Ambassador for Ted Baker in Canada, I was extremely happy to hang out in the store, try on clothes and meet the entire team. I got a few goodies too, Scuba dress, bulldog scarf, I haven’t been to Yorkdale in ages and it’s really quite a lovely destination. Fashion Preview: Swarovski Tropical Paradise 2013

Last night in between work, Fashion Week shows, and an awesome event at The Spoke Club, I stopped into the Shangri-La Hotel to preview the new Swarovski ‘Tropical Paradise’ collection. There were so many nice things. I feel like I say that every single time I go to a Swarovski preview ex. here, here, here, and here. They have some nice glasses too. This photo does neither of us justice! I LOVE that beetle. All photos taken with current mobile device the HTC One S on Telus. It has an awesome camera. I kinda miss android a little. I uploaded the images all using WordPress for Android. great lil’ app there. The interface on Android is nicer than iPhone. Huge thank you to Swarovski Canada for the invite and beautiful gift from the new Tropical Paradise collection. See below for some of my fav pieces and Chantal’s cute outfit. This is a full on busy week for film and fashion in Toronto. My fav things! Thursday night Toronto joins the world in celebrating Fashion’s Night Out and kicks off Toronto International Film Fest.. There are Fashion’s Night Out events ALL OVER the city, in fact, it’s famous for it, making it one of the most desirable places to live. Limitless, the movie, the you seen it? Bradley Cooper takes a drug that allows him to use ALL of his human brain. He goes crazy. I’d go crazy. I don’t really go to the gym but I work out my brain. Manhattan on Netflix. Welcome to THE FUTURE. I wonder what her blog would be like if she was here? Maybe like this, talking to herself. Then I replaced it Rum Diary. Johnny Depp as Hunter S. Thompson.Last night a friend and I made mojitos with mint from my OWN garden. Oh yeah. Thanks Mum for bringing back my green thumb. I read a great article about the making of the movie and Johnny Depp’s Rum Diary promise. It talks about them being at Hotel Nacional in Cuba. I stayed there. Been to Puerto Rico where it’s filmed too.  Somebody get me a mojito. Good quotes. The babe girl in the video has a turtle covered in Swarovski. Are big turtles good pets?  I wanna live at the beach, again. Oh God, why did she have to happen? HA! The fashion in this movie is amazing. Happy Sunday!

Full of Light, You Shine

Good morning from the Toronto Beaches. I stayed at Jenie’s place last night and its amazingly quiet and peaceful. Reminds me of this big old house I lived in on the Danforth. Caught an awesome doc yesterday, soaked up some sunshine. The power is out here right now. Heading home hopefully before my phone dies! Looks like we’re gonna get some nice sun this week. Today is last day for tickets to Toronto Fashion Incubator 25th anniversary on Thursday. Tickets here. Enjoy the day!
